Okra is one of my favorite vegetables... although used in a very vegetable-type way culinarily, Okra is actually a fruit! This pod-producing nutritional powerhouse is the only member of the Mallow family to bear fruit. Related to cotton & hibiscus, Okra has been used for medicinal & culinary purposes for over 3,500 years. Believed to originate in Ethiopia & cultivated by the ancient Egyptians by the 12th century B.C, the cultivation spread throughout North Africa & Western Asia. The seeds/pods were eaten raw or cooked, & seeds were toasted, ground & brewed like coffee ☕️ Okra is an excellent source of vitamins & minerals, high in vitamin C, A, B complex, iron, calcium, & antioxidants like B1, B2, Quercetin, Rutin, Catechin & Epiatechin. It’s also known for high vitamin K & folate content, which can support healthy bones & prevent diseases like Osteoporosis. Studies have that the vitamin C content in Okra can reduce asthma symptoms & skin conditions. 💚 S W I P E 💚 I’ve made info slides about the specific benefits for your skin if you need to get straight to the point, but this highly underrated crispy baby has so many health benefits, I’ll try to list them all as I hit that character limit!💻😞 🍽 Fry it, sauté it, bake it, add it to soups as it will naturally thicken your broth or simply eat them raw! They’re crisp, delicious, refreshingly light & sweet. Okra is a decent source of protein, but it’s micro-nutrient content like folates & collagen will serve to improve your body’s overall strength & energy levels much more than its protein will. ANTI-INFLAMMATORY PROPERTIES: Because of its antioxidant properties, Okra benefits your entire body by helping to reduce levels of inflammation. Chronic inflammation is one of the primary causes of illness in the body; reducing inflammation by exercise, proper nutrition & improving the efficiency of your digestive system can do wonders for your overall health. Okra is rich in fiber & antioxidant properties. Prebiotics are a source of healthy food for Probiotics or (the addition of good strains of living bacteria into your body) Your body’s ability to function properly depends on gut health, which is ultimately fueled by the healthy presence of good bacteria in the body. I happen to receive this spray twice in two different subscription boxes & I absolutely fell in love with it. I have used a full bottle already of this spray and half way done on the other. I spray some on my wrist and neck area & also on my pillow before I go to bed. I feel that this spray helps me relax, and does help me to feel more calm, and In turn I get a better nights sleep. The scent is a strong lavender smell (one of my favorite scents) but not overwhelming & it lingers on your skin all day & all night on your linens. I have used several sprays before but this has become my new favorite the only downside and reason I give this spray 4/5 ⭐️ is the price It is $30 for 2 oz. This after-sun spray is useless 🥴
This spray is designed to apply to your skin after tanning or spending some time in the sun! It is supposed to soothe and moisturize your skin. I was hoping that this product could provide a little extra moisture to my skin, but I haven’t noticed any difference. The spray has the consistency of water, and doesn’t really have a smell. I really don’t think this spray does anything! At $42, I definitely do not recommend this spray.

The All Over Soap by Graydon is lovely for any skin type but especially if you have sensitive skin. GRAYDON - All Over Soap This soap contains a pH of 5.8-6.3. It doesn’t strip your skin and it leaves it feeling fresh and clean. It’s formulated with a plant-based surfactant making it vegan. This all-in-one cleanser can be used as a body wash, for your hair, for your face, or even as a hand wash, clothing wash, or for your dishes! I use it as a body soap but I’ve also used it on my hands, or hand-washing my face masks :) It smells a lot like citrus, rosemary, and lavender, which makes it relaxing if you prefer showering in the evening. You could even pop this into the bath if you prefer baths. I love using a soap that makes my skin feel clean without stripping it of moisture. I also like knowing that it’s made from natural ingredients and I’m not lathering my skin with chemicals like I’m sure a lot of drugstore brands contain (maybe not but maybe they do? Lol. Can anyone confirm?) This retails for $25 CAD for 240 mLs.

TOWER 28 - SOS Save.Our.Skin Daily Rescue Facial Spray has been my favourite skincare discovery of 2020! The magic ingredient in here is hypocholorous acid, which is used as a disinfectant by professionals dealing with wound healing including body piercers and laser technicians. I was immediately sold when I saw Dr Dray vouch for the effectiveness of hypocholorous acid spray (albeit another brand) and used it to kill off p acne bacteria after workouts. This smells like a swimming pool, I dig that. I have been using this all over my face after a sweaty day, but I love this the most as a disinfectant for open wounds - aka popped pimples. Everytime I spot-spray this on an open wound, and it heals so much more quickly. I've also tried this to calm inflammation, which somewhat works, but it's not my favourite product for that. I just finished my mini bottle after 2 months of use and got the full 120ml version. Definite a winner in my books!

Taila’s Prana Face Oil is not only super photogenic but it is formulated with some amazing ingredients that I don’t think I’ve heard, like Brahmi, Amla, and Neem, all of which target cell renewal, dullness, fine lines, dark spots, and restoring elasticity.
