Just because Summer is coming to an end, your love affair with daily UV protection never should. These are the sunscreens I tried this year that I wanted to share with you guys. 🌤An obvious disclaimer: my skin is very pale & I can’t totally predict how these products will blend into deep skin tones regarding “white cast” (the washing out effect that zinc based sunscreens can have) But I tried my best to give an idea of the texture before & after blending/absorbing, check out the slides🤍 KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32
Texture: creamy & moisturizing Finish: very dewy/shiny SPF: 32 Type: Zinc Oxide 22.4% I did a thorough review of this probiotic moisturizing sunscreen in a previous post, it’s very detailed⚡️ Has a light natural vanilla-oatmeal scent & a slight beige tint. I love this one for being so moisturizing & comfortable to wear, but the finish is quite dewy, so I feel I need powder over this to wear it in public. sun bum - Mineral Face Lotion SPF 30
Texture: creamy & lightweight Finish: matte SPF: 30 Type: Titanium Dioxide 5.3% /Zinc Oxide 2.4% This is such a great inexpensive option for a matte, mineral sunscreen that leaves very minimal white cast. The cast is slightly blue, though it blends away on my skin, this could be problematic for darker tones. The texture is so creamy yet very lightweight, it reminds me of makeup primer. It’s quite moisturizing, has no scent & is the most matte out of the 3. SHISEIDO - Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector Broad Spectrum Face Sunscreen SPF 42
Texture: liquidy & lightweight Finish: matte SPF: 42 Type: Zinc Oxide 12.5% /Octinoxate 4.9% /Octocrylene 3% This has been my go-to for years. It’s a combination of mineral & chemical sunscreens, & is oil free. You have to shake the contents really well first, but it has a little shaker ball inside to help. I love the texture of this, really light & absorbs well without being overly matte. I do always need moisturizer on under this though. The white cast is really minimal even with reapplication, & it’s never irritated my dry skin. Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen Spray SPF 45
Texture: lightweight liquid aerosol Finish: satin/semi sheen SPF: 45 Type: Homosalate 15% /Oxybenzone 6% /Octisalate 5% /Avobenzone 3% /Octocrylene 2.35% Honestly this makes my skin feel itchy & tight after applying, even after I moisturize. I’ve been steering away from purely chemical sunscreen formulas like this, but chemical sunscreens do work better for sone people. I wouldn’t recommend for dry or sensitive skin. sun bum - Mineral Continuous Sunscreen Spray SPF 30
Texture: creamy, medium weight aerosol Finish: velvet matte SPF: 30 Type: Zinc Oxide 14% Has a sort of tropical scent & feels good on the skin. Though some white cast, it’s not the ‘blue’ tint the face lotion has. Full review in a previous post.

Product Mentioned
Going ALL MINERAL🧴☀️
🌻Tried a few new sun-care products today... For my face, I’ve been using a zinc based but also chemical sunscreen for years. I was never that picky about body sunscreens, but never found one I really like enough to repurchase. I also ditched my usual ‘chapstick spf 15’ because I decided to stop using petroleum products. ☀️So I thought I’d try some mineral options🤷🏻‍♀️ So what’s the difference between chemical & mineral (sometimes called “physical”) sunscreen?: MINERAL ingredients form a barrier on the surface of the skin to reflect UV rays away from the skin. Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide. CHEMICAL ingredients penetrate the top layers of the skin to absorb UV rays. These filters absorb damaging UV rays before they can damage the skin. Including but not limited to: Oxybenzone, Avobenzone, Octisalate, Octocrylene, Homosalate, Octinoxate, Ecamsule, & Octyl salicylate. 🩹There’s a lot of debate about which one works better & which is safe... but more about that in a future post. Mineral sunscreen is generally regarded as much lower risk, but a lot of people, especially those with darker skin tones can find it troublesome because zinc products often leave a white cast on skin. ⚠️So I definitely wanted to address that aspect in these 3 reviews. However, I’m not a great tester or representation for deeper skin tones. I can’t say how these products will perform on dark skin. 👄First up, the Signature zinc lip balm SPF 30 $5/.15 oz This balm will work great for all skin tones! Has a delicate shine, mutes the color of lips a tiny bit, but not very noticeable. sun bum - Signature SPF 30 Sunscreen Lip Balm I love this ingredient list! Some of my favorites like sweet almond oil, jojoba seed oil, shea butter, & argan oil make up 4 of the first 6 ingredients along with beeswax & candelilla wax. Has a natural almond oil/ argan oil type scent that some may not care for. But omg this was so moisturizing!! I’m a very hard critic on lip balms, so take it from me... this is my new SPF lip balm! It’s so creamy & very affordable at just $4.99. I think it’s identical to their other mineral spf lip balm in a white tube, which is $3.99 the one I purchased is called “signature” but I think it’s just black packaging difference. sun bum - Mineral Continuous Sunscreen Spray SPF 30 $18/6 oz First off I think this is pretty great, I enjoy the feel (moisturizing with out being shiny) but the sprayer could be better. So that’s just something to note... I showed it sprayed kinda close, but if you spray farther, it can be messy & get on clothing. So something to consider, but the white cast blended in quite well. It smells a bit tropical, kind of like sunscreen, but more like Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum cream, warm & nutty🧡 sun bum - Mineral Face Lotion SPF 30 $18/1.7 oz Had a slight blue cast, but blended nice & matte. Very lightweight! Would make a great makeup primer & has no scent whatsoever.

Sunscreen battle
sun bum - Mineral Face Lotion SPF 30 I think this is a good sunscreen, but on my skin it feels drying and leaves a bit of a white cast. THE BODY SHOP - Seaweed Mattifying Moisture Lotion SPF 15 This is definitely more of a sunscreen than a lotion. It smells nice and feels nice on the skin but I do notice that I feel more oily even tho use this is supposed to be an oil-control lotion.

Reef Safe, Cruelty-Free, Earth First SPF 🌍
No matter your skin type, ethnicity, gender, preference, etc. you should always protect your skin and use SPF 🧴 I say that as someone who didn’t wear SPF for nearly 20 years of my life. For me it was simply because I never had anyone tell me the importance of it, so I never thought I needed it. Man, first off; I am as pale as moonlight and burn quicker than a piece of paper in a bonfire. But regardless of that, I would still need SPF daily. More recently I have started to use KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32 and I must say I LOVE IT. Here’s a few things about it: 🧴 it’s SPF 32 - our skin needs a minimum of SPF 30 outside and SPF 15 inside 🧴 it almost instantly calms most redness and inflammation on the face (I have acne-prone skin and this soothes redness within a minute or two and gives me a more even complexion) 🧴 it has turmeric AND a probiotic blend 👏🏻 this helps keep the skin clear and healthy (and the turmeric aids in soothing redness and inflammation) 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 🧴 as mentioned above, it is safe for acne-prone skin 👏🏻 🧴 it does NOT have a whitecast!(!!!) - it is somewhat tinted in a peachy color, but this doesn’t stay, it fades as its rubbed in 🧴 it does NOT smell like sunscreen 👏🏻 (It has a warm, cozy scent to it) 🧴 it is moisturizing but not greasy at all 👏🏻 - it leaves the face matte but with a subtle glow to it, like natural skin 🧴 it is reef safe 🌍 I can’t express enough how important this is. OUR PLANET IS DYING. 🧴 the packaging is 30% post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic and the outer packaging is FSC-certified. ♻️ Again, OUR PLANET IS DYING, so sustainable / climate friendly / earth friendly is a GOAL and should be for everyone and every company. This has easily become my favorite SPF ever and I will continue to use it, recycle ♻️ and then repurchase (it’s $25 USD). I would personally recommend it for all skin types and tones. It is moisturizing but not greasy and has no whitecast 👩🏻👩🏼👩🏽👩🏾👩🏿 Ingredients: Active ingredient: Zinc Oxide 22.4% Inactive ingredients: Water (Aqua), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Coconut Alkanes, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Coco-Glucoside, Lactobacillus Ferment, Rubus Idaeus (Red Raspberry) Seed Oil*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Liquid Endosperm, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Rhizomes Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii Nut Extract, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Tocopherol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Butylene Glycol, Isostearic Acid, Lecithin, Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Sclerotium Gum, Cetearyl Glucoside, Ethylhexylglycerin, Xanthan Gum, Octyldodecanol, Tapioca Starch, Citric Acid, Sorbitan Oleate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, May contain +/- Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492) *Certified Organic

New Routine 🌱
Lately I have been looking towards updating my routine to more natural based products and have managed to almost completely switch to a natural / organic routine 🙌🏻 I’ve been trying this routine out for a little over month straight now and here it is: AM: Cleanse face with Aloe straight from the plant (I leave it on my face for about 15 minutes before rinsing it off gently) J.R. WATKINS - Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin Spray rosewater combined with glycerin is fantastic for hydrating the skin and adding a bit of moisture before adding more aloe Rub Aloe on my face straight from the plant and let it dry - focusing on my dry / problem spots CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin I mix this with a bit of Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment to tone down the drying effect of salicylic acid (this isn’t every AM, only when I have active breakouts and don’t feel dry / dehydrated) Pat my face with just a bit of ACURE - Radically Rejuvenating Rose Argan Oil and a drop of Tea Tree oil mixed in SPF 🧴 - I use KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32 (thank you for the recommendation @Mallory💙 I am LOVING it) PM: Oil cleanse for 15 min. with Hemp Seed Oil + Argan Oil + a drop of Tea Tree Oil (all organic and cold pressed, 100% pure) J.R. WATKINS - Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin Spray same as AM The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA every other night Aloe, same as AM, straight from the plant and focusing on dry spots (not on the same night as lactic acid) CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin with Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment Pat my face with just a bit of ACURE - Radically Rejuvenating Rose Argan Oil and a drop of Tea Tree oil - Same as AM Weekly: If I feel like it, I’ll use a matcha / honey / turmeric mask that leaves my skin feeling hydrated and reduces inflammation and the look of acne 🌱 Honestly, my face has never felt so good! My skin is so soft and I’ve noticed my skin is brighter, more even and my blemishes have healed up quite nicely. The closed comedones I used to have have mostly smoothed out and my face feels normal and comfortable, not dry or oily really. Just...comfortable 💙 Although this sort of routine isn’t for everyone, I would still recommend giving it a try. For my acne-prone skin it really has helped to make my skin feel healthy and comfortable. This is the healthiest my skin has felt since I was a child and I sincerely wish that I had discovered this kind of routine back in my high school days 🤧

What I threw in my Hospital bag🏩
Because I have a neurological disease, I have to go to the hospital pretty often & stay for days at a time. There have been times where I had to leave so suddenly or I wasn’t conscious, that I didn’t get to bring any skincare beyond the lip balm in my pocket. In the past I used to just throw every moisturizer sample I had in my backpack, but as you may have guessed, being in a new environment under stress is not the best time to test new products on our skin. So this most recent time I had to be quick, but managed to grab some helpful items... A “hospital skincare” bag will never be perfect, for me it’s about maintaining comfort. You may have noticed I didn’t bring a cleanser, I recommend you bring one if you can with a few of your own face towels (towels in the hospital are so scratchy & have been bleached) Me not bringing a cleanser is just realistic for me because I likely will not be up at a sink... I brought: BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O wipes Biodegradable & free of Silicone, Petroleum products, Sulfates & Alcohol. These are a really nice gentle face wipe. I haven’t used to remove makeup though. SHISEIDO - Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector Broad Spectrum Face Sunscreen SPF 42 Don’t forget to still wear sunscreen even if you’re chillin inside! This has never irritated my eyes, so for me it’s a great option to apply with out a mirror. CAUDALIE - Grape Water Face mist at the hospital is a must! This is my favorite. Full review is my first post.🍇I would love to bring my travel size but I ran out. LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask shade: Gummy Bear 🐻 Great for keeping my lips moisturized under my mask😷& overnight. Full review in previous post. sun bum - Signature SPF 30 Sunscreen Lip Balm Less important with my mask on, but I highly recommend this mineral sunscreen lip balm with non-nano zinc for all skin tones! Its free of fragrance, parabens & petroleum products& it’s less than $5 SHANGPREE - Marine Jewel Nourishing Mask & MAY COOP - Raw Sheet are two of my favorite sheet masks, check out my full reviews on both in previous posts. Beauty of Joseon - Calming Serum : Green Tea + Panthenol 🍵🍃I also bring this calming serum, it’s over 76% green tea leaf water & 2% panthenol (a B5 provitamin) I’ll be doing a full review soon on this & the other 2 serums Korean skincare brand Beauty of Joseon has to offer. HERBIVORE - Rose Quartz Facial Roller To relive tension in my face... I give this 4 stars because mine kind of squeaks at me & that’s not super relaxing lol. SHANGPREE - Diamond Luminous Cream A very rich Niacinamide cream I’ve been using. Full review of this K-beauty gem coming soon!💎 Briogeo - Farewell Frizz Rosarco Milk Leave-In Conditioner Mainly for some aromatherapy🌹

Current lil daytime routine⛅️🥱🍓💦🌹✨
I’m always trying new things & samples, but this is my basic routine for the AM🧡 Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments! I use the products in the following order: fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash My favorite exfoliating cleanser! There’s a full review in a previous post if you wanna check it out🍓 DIOR - Hydra Life Balancing Hydration 2 in 1 Sorbet Water A great toner I reviewed in my last post. Sulwhasoo - First Care Activating Serum I did a first impressions review of this not too long ago... I am still totally loving it. I now crave the fresh herbaceous scent that I wasn’t sure about at first. I find this to be working really well with my skin, always calming & soothing. I still feel like I haven’t been using it long enough (less than a month) to speak on anti aging benefits. Expect a more thorough review in the future, but I can solidly say I love this Hanbang (traditional Korean herbal medicine) skincare product. fresh - Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Moisturizer 🌹I’ve used this for a while, but I’m on the lookout for something new. This moisturizer leaves skin pretty shiny but I love the way it feels. Cooling & refreshing, with a pretty strong rose scent. I may be having a slight reaction to it when I apply it though. I noticed it makes my light warm toned skin very pink right after, only for a little bit, but it doesn’t happen when I rub in other products, so it’s not physical. I read a review with a customer experiencing the same issue chalking it up to the rose extract. I have always loved rose extract & don’t recall having issues before... just something to consider. SHISEIDO - Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector Broad Spectrum Face Sunscreen SPF 42 I’ve used this face sunscreen for years. There are some better options perhaps... now that I want to switch over to fully mineral sunscreen (this has zinc, but also chemical sunscreen.) Nonetheless this has always kept me from being burnt, never irritated my eyes (initially what landed me on this particular sunscreen because everything else I tried hurt my eyes at some point) I like shaking it up, the thin texture is easy to apply & leaves a matte finish. I actually feel like this has helped clear up my skin at times, I recommend for acne sufferers. Has a tiny bit of a white cast, but not bad at all. ARMANI beauty - Fluid Sheer Glow Enhancer I apply this to my cheeks for a very angelic & natural glow over my sunscreen☁️💗( I use shade : 08) clé de peau BEAUTÉ - UV Protective Lip Treatment Broad Spectrum SPF 30 I did a full review on this recently... I wasn’t impressed for $65 LANEIGE - Lip Glowy Balm 💜this gummy bear scented lip balm! See full review🐻🍭 SHISEIDO - Shiseido Eyelash Curler Less of a curve than most, my holy grail

My first thoughts on this SPF!
My first thoughts on this SPF!
First of all- sorry for looking exhausted in this video- 4 hours of sleep the night before and the coffee hadn’t kicked in yet! But OMG YESSSSSSS Loving 👏🏼 on👏🏼this👏🏼 SPF👏🏼 Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 this is my dream, especially living where I live in Southern California and with my skin type. When doing some research, based on my understanding of ingredients and what Supergoop!’s website recommended, oily/ combo skin folks could benefit from their Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40so, searching for something for more of a dry skin type, I went for the Unseen to try. It has 0 white cast- great visually for all skin tones which is wonderful! It has isododecane, which contributes to the formulas smooth and non-greasy feel. It glides very, very easily across the face. While I would say a little bit goes a long way (which it feels like because of how easily it glides!) sunscreen is a product I believe is always “more is more,” in your skincare routine. Being someone who loves to use minimal make up most of the time, this is a great product to use. I can’t give an honest review on how this product works with glammed up/ medium-heavy coverage liquid foundations and concealers, because I do not use those. This leaves your face with a velvety look and feel! Let me know your thoughts on this product below.

Green Defense = Best Defense! ☀️
Green Defense = Best Defense! ☀️
The Cherie Push this week is sunscreen so I thought I would make another post about Farmacy’s Daily Mineral Sunscreen! Not only is this product on Sephora’s Clean list, but it boasts a long list of exclusions including: cruelty free, mineral oil free, sulfate free, phthalate free, paraben free, and more. This sunscreen is SPF 30 and works best when reapplied every hour to ensure full coverage throughout the day. Because I use products like chemical peels and AHA which increase my skins sensitivity to UV rays, I value a great sunblock and this keeps me safe! The texture is slightly thinner than average sunscreen and absorbs very quickly! This sunscreen is not greasy at all! It has a light sunflowery scent which I love and contains no added fragrances. I have never experienced a single clogged pore from this product which is very important to me. One downfall: the price. Compared to a drugstore brand, it’s expensive. Retails for $36.00 FARMACY - Green Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Mineral Sunscreen

Friday favorites ft. some of m
Friday favorites ft. some of my favorite sun protection products! . . The peter thomas roth max mineral naked has a slight pink/nude tint that blends in really nicely. If I keep my routine simple I don’t have ANY pilling which is amazing! But if I layer too much before...no bueno. Love the glow this leaves behind, and it’s a 45 SPF so I know I’m getting good protection! . supergoop has been one of my favorite discoveries for SPF this year! The Unseen Sunscreen (40SPF) acts almost like a primer. It leaves my face with a matte/satin finish and feels so smooth. The Superscreen Daily Moisturizer (40SPF) is great when I’m doing a minimal routine. I will use this instead of a moisturizer and it looks a bit greasy at first but sinks in after a few minutes and keeps my skin hydrated!

Supergoop, Is It Really So Super?
Supergoop, Is It Really So Super?
Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 To begin with, this product was so hard to find in stock anywhere!! I ended up finding it on some random website on page 52672 of my google searches and bought an SPF 30 version of the product. As for the unseen claim of this product (that this sunscreen is visually unseen on the skin) , it is completely true. It is perfectly clear and you can hardly tell it is on the skin when applied. Neither colour, nor texture of the sunscreen is visible. Looks as a moisturizer would when applied. It is also thick and sticky, yet super lightweight on the skin, so a perfect primer for makeup if you don’t wish to use an additional primer on top. It does have a smell to it which I had read about previously, but it is not as strong or disturbing as i’d read. There is a pungent smell when you first squeeze out the product, but then the smell immediately dissipates. With each application, I use about 4-5 times the amount squeezed onto my hand in the second picture. This is not too much, but in comparison to the size of the bottle, it is an uncomfortable amount. In terms of sunscreen, this product is amazing and I have no complaints. It is even water resistant, which eases my nerves for when I sweat or happen to face some splashes of water on my face. However, I do not like how small the bottles are for how much I use and how much it actually costs (spent about $30 CAD). For that reason only, I give it 4 stars instead of 5. But if the price is not an issue for you, this is an amazing sunscreen! Either 30 SPF or 40 SPF are both great for protection against the sun and work well as a mineral sunscreen that blends into your normal skin care or makeup routine without much disruption. ☀️☀️☀️ I would like to ask if anyone has suggestions for a mineral sunscreen that works just as well but isn’t as pricy! Thank you!!

Series with Devra Freelander +
Series with Devra Freelander + the mineral matte sunscreen by Supergoop: I normally don't wear primers because I don't care for their texture and/or wear foundation, but this doesn't feel silicone-y or pill at all. Even better, it actually works to mattify my skin, so I've been using it in conjunction with the Caudalie vinopure mattifying fluid for those days when my skin still gets oily. I also love that not only is it SPF 40, but that it's also broad spectrum coverage (meaning both UVA and UVB light) and even protects against blue light from electronics (via the butterfly bush extract). I'll probably switch back to the unseen sunscreen for the winter (I love the balmy texture) but until then this will definitely be a staple in my routine! -
