🧫First Impressions: Kinship probiotic SPF 32
Kinship Self Reflect probiotic moisturizing Zinc Oxide sunscreen - broad spectrum SPF 32 $25/1.75 oz KINSHIP is a “clean” & sustainable skincare brand launched last November by Alison Haljun (formerly VP of marketing at Benefit) & Christin Powell (who cofounded Juice Beauty ) ➕Every product is under $25 ! 🦠Their proprietary formula, Kinbiome™ is present in all of their 6 products. It’s a plant-based probiotic, derived from the fermentation of lactobacillus, a bacterium which produces lactic acid from the fermentation of carbohydrates. This ingredient complex supports clear skin & stronger barrier. 🔎Most of us may be familiar with prebiotic skincare, but.. what’s the difference between prebiotic & probiotic? Prebiotics: Specialized plant fiber that acts as food for the good bacteria. This stimulates growth among the preexisting good bacteria. Probiotics: Living strains of bacteria that add to the population of good bacteria in your skins microbiome. ✨This is the first product I’ve tried from Kinship. Baby’s first Makeup post🌷🙊🍡
I used to always do the same look for work or hanging out with friends because I was really comfortable with it. Sound familiar? I’m the queen of hitting the pan on a beige shimmer eyeshadow time & time again, so during the beginning of quarantine I wanted to push myself to use all the colorful cosmetics I’ve bought impulsively over the years. In every photo I’m wearing CHANEL - Le Correcteur de Chanel Longwear Concealer in 10 & CHANEL - LES BEIGES HEALTHY GLOW Sheer Powder in shade: 20 Lol my container is beyond busted don’t hate... I purchased this in January 2019 & I still haven’t run out. I’ve repurchased the concealer 3 times now, it’s the first concealer I’ve ever found to match my skin flawlessly with shade & texture. *I haven’t been wearing makeup at all lately, but since I started using this concealer & powder on 1/15/19 instead of a full face of foundation, my skin got a lot clearer. 🎀SOFT PINK LOOK: I used a small amount of URBAN DECAY - 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil shade: Woodstock towards the outer edge & diffused the color with the Gucci powder shadow GUCCI - Magnetic Color Shadow Mono in 090-Tourmaline My favorite curling mascara GIVENCHY - Phenomen’eyes Mascara in shade: 1-deep black—— my ultimate favorite is the dark brown shade I can’t seem to find anymore, but this formula is awesome! Holds my curl, adds length & always looks natural, not clumpy. Used it in every look🖤 I also used ARMANI beauty - Fluid Sheer Glow Enhancer in 08 -my favorite buildable highlighter blush that I’ve used for years & still haven’t emptied. I used it in every look too💗 Finished withDIOR - Diorshow Brow Styler Ultra-Fine Precision Brow Pencil in 002- dark brown to add a little definition. 🐾KITTEN EYE WITH PINK MASCARA: I’m really not good at anything eyeliner related so I was proud of this haha... FirstToo Faced - Sketch Marker Liquid Art Eyeliner in black on a prepped eyelid (for me that’s just conceal & powder) Then I used the Givenchy mascara on the top lashes & hot pink mascara on the bottom lashesDIOR - Addict It-Lash Volumizing Mascara shade: 872 No brow filling for this look, just added the ESTĒE LAUDER - Pure Color Love Cooling Highlighter in 002- Sultry Shine over the Armani liquid highlighter & one of my favorite glosses DIOR - Lip Glow Oil shade: 001 pink 💨420 LOOK: Wanted to have some fun with this look since I was just gonna hang at home alone... I used a really old TooFaced eyeshadow😬a duo called Fantasy Island🏝 On the outer third of my eyelid I used ARMANI beauty - Eye Tint Liquid Eyeshadow in shade: 8- Flannel, this color is really unique & the camera doesn’t do it justice. It’s a gorgeous smokey metallic mauve. I finished with same gloss, mascara & brow tool.
Current lil daytime routine⛅️🥱🍓💦🌹✨
I’m always trying new things & samples, but this is my basic routine for the AM🧡 Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments! I use the products in the following order: fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash My favorite exfoliating cleanser! There’s a full review in a previous post if you wanna check it out🍓 DIOR - Hydra Life Balancing Hydration 2 in 1 Sorbet Water A great toner I reviewed in my last post. Sulwhasoo - First Care Activating Serum I did a first impressions review of this not too long ago... I am still totally loving it. I now crave the fresh herbaceous scent that I wasn’t sure about at first. I find this to be working really well with my skin, always calming & soothing. I still feel like I haven’t been using it long enough (less than a month) to speak on anti aging benefits. Expect a more thorough review in the future, but I can solidly say I love this Hanbang (traditional Korean herbal medicine) skincare product. fresh - Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Moisturizer 🌹I’ve used this for a while, but I’m on the lookout for something new. This moisturizer leaves skin pretty shiny but I love the way it feels. Cooling & refreshing, with a pretty strong rose scent. I may be having a slight reaction to it when I apply it though. I noticed it makes my light warm toned skin very pink right after, only for a little bit, but it doesn’t happen when I rub in other products, so it’s not physical. I read a review with a customer experiencing the same issue chalking it up to the rose extract. I have always loved rose extract & don’t recall having issues before... just something to consider. SHISEIDO - Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector Broad Spectrum Face Sunscreen SPF 42 I’ve used this face sunscreen for years. There are some better options perhaps... now that I want to switch over to fully mineral sunscreen (this has zinc, but also chemical sunscreen.) Nonetheless this has always kept me from being burnt, never irritated my eyes (initially what landed me on this particular sunscreen because everything else I tried hurt my eyes at some point) I like shaking it up, the thin texture is easy to apply & leaves a matte finish. I actually feel like this has helped clear up my skin at times, I recommend for acne sufferers. Has a tiny bit of a white cast, but not bad at all. ARMANI beauty - Fluid Sheer Glow Enhancer I apply this to my cheeks for a very angelic & natural glow over my sunscreen☁️💗( I use shade : 08) clé de peau BEAUTÉ - UV Protective Lip Treatment Broad Spectrum SPF 30 I did a full review on this recently... I wasn’t impressed for $65 LANEIGE - Lip Glowy Balm 💜this gummy bear scented lip balm! See full review🐻🍭 SHISEIDO - Shiseido Eyelash Curler Less of a curve than most, my holy grail

Glowing Natural-glam Fall Makeup
Natural glam is some of my favorite makeup to rock, and fall makes it even better with all of the delicious warm tones and golds. I always love to play up my eyes and highlight to get a lit from within glow that complements the warm neutrals I use for my shadows and lips. Using the inspiration of golden hour and the changing colors of the leaves never fails 🍁 For my eyes, I used a mixture of NATASHA DENONA - Mini Nude Eyeshadow Palette and my HUDA BEAUTY - The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette to get the perfect mix of warm tones and golds. I start by blending the camel color from natasha in my crease, and deepen it with the next darkest brown in the palette (a chocolate) on my outer V. I take my finger and press crave from huda onto the center of my lid, layering my highlight on the inner corner and smoking my lower lash line out with the same chocolate colour. The duo-chrome shadows in the huda palette is extra fun, and adds extra dimension to the look; I love the shift of crave and daydream. I add a dot of highlight to the center of my lower lash line as well. I dont line in this look, but use a few coats of a dark black mascara like CHANEL - Le Volume de Mascara which doesn’t smudge or flake, and applies easily with little clumping for long and voluminous lashes. I darken my brows to give a more structured look to my eyes. I’ve been loving the Rare Beauty - Brow Harmony Pencil and Gel which makes my brows look naturally tinted and sculpted for a more elegant look. I didnt contour in this look, but layered on benefit - Hoola Matte Bronzing Powder liberally with a darker bronzer powder still in a warmer shade CHANEL - LES BEIGES HEALTHY GLOW Sheer Powder I don’t contour because for this look i’m sticking with only warm tones, and my contour shade is cool. I mix in my blush, EM COSMETICS - Heaven’s Glow: Magic Hour Blush which truly transfers the colour of magic onto the face, and top it with my Charlotte Tilbury - Beauty Highlighter Wand that melts into the skin and gives a heavenly glow. For my lips, I used a mix of Charlotte Tilbury - Matte Revolution Lipstick and EM COSMETICS - EM Cosmetics Lip Cushion for perfect warm nude pink tones. What’s your go-to look? Would you try this out? Let me know what you think down below! 💕
My longtime obsession with long nails //PICS!🔪
Yup, I’m that girl clickin & clackin on her phone! Sorrrry💁🏻♀️ 💅🏽💅🏿💅🏼💅🏾💅🏻 I’ve been obsessed with crazy long nails since i was a little kid. I got my first set of acrylics probably sophomore year of high school. I was pretty tomboy in high school even though I wore a lot of makeup, they were pretty annoying at first & the dance companies I was in banned fake nails for shows & even practice. I would get sets occasionally in college, but went to art school & they definitely get in the way with certain processes. ♿️ I got severely injured in 2014, when I was 26, & the cuticle biting habit I’ve always had was sooo bad because I literally had nothing to do all day. I was working as a server in California at the time, so I was definitely not allowed to have fake nails or nail polish of any kind. I ended up returning to acrylics full time after I got injured & I could finally stop biting my cuticles! The nails just look so pretty, I felt less eager to mess with them & the nails are thicker than a natural nail so you can’t pick at your skin (or pop pimples with this length! Plus!) 💔 A combination of moving away from my favorite nail tech, ( TONY I LOVE YOU & OH HOW MISS YOU SO! ) & obviously quarantine, forced me to abandon my long fake nails for now. The damage: Getting full acrylic sets & fills pretty much non-stop for almost 6 years, my real nails were not cute, thin & brittle. I was so lucky to have a very talented & meticulous technician for the last 2 of those years. I honestly never had any of the nasty issues some people can face with acrylics. What are acrylics? Acrylic nails are created by first applying a plastic nail extension with glue to part of your nail to add length. Then a powder & liquid acrylic monomer are combined into a sort of “blob of dough” & shaped onto your nails with a brush & air dried. Next they will be further shaped & smoothed with manual & electric files. A GOOD tech will take about 2 hours, not less. I always chose gel polish that’s cured with a UV light on top of my acrylics, but you can also just do regular nail polish. I worked up to this length- they make me feel like myself, know what I mean? But I wouldn’t recommend starting off long if you aren’t used to it. Your natural nails grow out & then in 2-3 weeks you can get what’s called a “fill”, where your polish is removed & a small amount of the monomer is applied to the base of your nail bed & blended into what you already have on your nail. Quarantine: Had my last real set in February... I ordered long press-ons a few times, which I really loved, but they’re just not the same strength-wise. I was actually kinda rough on my nails & rarely broke them. At least when press-ons pop off, you can just glue it back on instead of rushing to the salon! I’ve had fun trying ones with gems & charms! In the past I stuck to solid colors & glitter with acrylics due to the cost & sitting time. IMO the best press-ons are from black owned business, Hawt Nailz!

Stimulate the Economy! Buy Skincare!
My newest finds and unfortunately last for a while :( I’m on leave from work right now so I only have one more paycheck coming in so these will be my last new grabs for a while! KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32 -First time using a mineral sunscreen and I am in love! No white cast at all, leaves my face looking so glowy but not oily. Smell is kinda weird but that’s usually what happens when the product is fragrance free so 🤷🏼♀️ peach slices - Snail Rescue All-in-One Oil Free Moisturizer -You KNOW I had to get this after trying the snail mask! I have combo/oily leaning skin and this moisturizer is so nice and thin. I occlude it with squalane in the mornings TULA SKINCARE - Acne Spot Treatment -Okay so I was looking for the kinship spot treatment and couldn’t find it so I got this instead. I have not used it yet but it’s formulated with niacinamide, licorice, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, azelaic acid, and lactic acid. WHEW that is a pretty stacked inkey IMO so I’m excited! I had coupons and points so I only got paid like $47 for all of this but I just got my stimulus check (yay!) so here’s to stimulating the economy! Hope you all get your stimmys and the chance to try some new products :-)
Brown girl friendly mineral spf this way!!!!
If you want to give mineral spf a shot as a brown girl you just have to try the Kinship Self-reflect Spf🙌🏾. It’s so moisturizing and the white cast goes away in 15 minutes. I don’t call that a major downfall because of the benefits of mineral spf alone, I just suck it up lol. I hope to see more mineral spf for brown girls this year😍😍😍 KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32

New Year’s Eve look!
To me, NYE is all about shiny and shimmery things, so I decided to go with a subtle gold shimmery look! I am by no means an eyeshadow master, so this is my best attempt, please bear with me! I just dabbed a little eyeshadow on my finger, and dabbed it onto my eye. I used BOBBI BROWN - Eyeshadow to fill in my brows. I used #Burt’s Bees - Nourishing Eyeliner Pencil[products]#[FiveStars] in warm brown to give natural definition to my eyes and COVERGIRL - LashBlast Volume Mascara for my lashes. I used my favorite SHISEIDO - Shiseido Eyelash Curler to lift my lashes. I didn’t use any concealer or foundation today, so my HIP marks were showing, but I put some BOBBI BROWN - BOBBI BROWN Bronzing Powder on my cheek bones, some Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color along my cheeks, and some BOBBI BROWN - Shimmer Brick Highlighter on the high points of my cheeks and the tip of my nose.
🕷🐈⬛🕯Friday the 13th & feelin cute!🕯🐈⬛🕷
I try not to be superstitious about a day or a number, but I still find myself thinking about it🤔 🍂It’s really feeling like Fall! Had the first snow of the season the other day, but now it’s just raining a lot🌧 Before I took better care of my skin, I rarely took selfies without makeup on, I just didn’t feel cute. Now I feel cute with a glowing face full of skincare & have kinda ditched makeup (which personally, also helped my skin tremendously!) I felt extra cute today & just wanted to chill & get cozy, but we have guests right now, so I decided to throw on my fav mascara & gloss for fun. ➡️ Everything on my skin, lashes & lips is in the next photo. GIVENCHY - Phenomen’eyes Mascara Is my ultimate favorite mascara! I truly miss the brown shade this used to come in, but that’s just me, loved it for my lashes (& brows when I was lazy) The brown shade was not great for every look, but it was so soft & natural looking. This black shade is your basic, classic black, I’m just so in love with the formula & applicator. 🏰The comb reminds me of that medieval spikey ball weapon thing. Love it. It makes it super easy for me to control where I’m applying, & keep it light, feathery & clump-free (my personal preference for an everyday mascara look) I love how i can just sort of “kiss” my lashes with this product, especially the bottom line, so effectively. ✔️You can definitely get a more dramatic effect with this mascara if that’s what you’re going for! 🖤The thing I love most is how the formula really holds my curl throughout the day! My tricks for lashes is start with a great curler. This will be different for everyone, because we all have different eye shapes. My eyes are not deep set at all. My lashes aren’t particularly long, but my lashes sometimes graze the inside of sunglasses for instance... My perfect eyelash curler has a less pronounced curve than most standard American market curlers, which helps get me the perfect curl with no pinching at all! 🛍I also use a FREE spoolie (yes I’m that bitch at Sephora) to comb out any clumps. SHISEIDO - Shiseido Eyelash Curler I also always have these on hand, so I’m never with a cracked/split one, save your eyes from injury & hidden bacteria: SHISEIDO - SHISEIDO Eyelash Curler Pad I wish Sephora carried these! They’re only $6/2 pack-but annoying/wasteful to buy without free shipping-unless I buy tons lol. *i always curl BEFORE mascara! As the mascara is kinda drying I use clean fingers to sort of push them up to curl a bit more & have it hold! ⚠️You may be tempted to use a curler at some point AFTER mascara. Though I did it 1,000x without incident, the one time I pulled out over half my top line was it for me! Proceed with caution. DIOR - Lip Glow Oil So moisturizing & not sticky! Lips look alive & plump!💕 NEST FRAGRANCES - Bamboo Candle 🕯Jasmine/Amber vibes, warm, perfect for Fall🍂
Lip balms I rated 4-5⭐️Which would I repurchase?
🤷🏻♀️I think I can be a generous reviewer at times...though I try to be as thorough as I can with product description & personal experience, sometimes it’s still difficult to choose how many ⭐️s to rate a product. I try to use x for a while before reviewing, but I’ll admit, I do get excited about something new sometimes, so I’ll do what I label: a ‘First Impressions’ review. I stand behind all of my reviews, it’s just me & my products, no PR or anything. However, when I feel like my opinion of a product greatly changes after time, ima let you guys know! 💄So this brings me to a first of a kind post for me... I’m a real lip balm addict, definitely one of my favorite products to try. Unless I absolutely hate it, I’ll empty every one to the last application lol. Why waste it since I use it so often in my dry climate🏔 ⛄️All these babies are on empty (+1 more in the next slide I forgot about & in all honesty, I already ate the cookie) 🏁So I’ll share how I feel about them now & which one I would repurchase (a couple I already have!) Full review of each in previous posts. ➕Let’s start with the positives! Rating went up: ALGENIST - Genius Liquid Collagen Lip Old rating: 4⭐️$35/.34 oz I used this for 6 weeks before a review due to the nature of the product. Though they claim it can work in 10 days, I wanted to give it a fighting chance. I had rated this 4⭐️ because I loved everything about it, but no my lips did not get bigger. (extensive before/after pics in my old review) So it will not change lip size, but hear me out... This has been a phenomenally effective lip serum, I don’t think I can give it up now! When my lips are super dry, this is what I reach for. The formula & ceramic applicator are cooling, but even in this cold weather I looove it. You massage lips & they become alive & healthy looking! Layer a balm over once the formula soaks in- think of it as a lip serum💕So yes, though $ I will repurchase, large amount-it’s lasted 5+ months! Stayed the same: ARMANI beauty - Neo Nude Ecstasy Balm $34/.1 oz 001 Sooo luxurious & silky with Caper oil as a moisturizer. I have repurchased here & there, but due to the $, can’t make it a regular thing. unpa.Cosmetics - Bubi Bubi Lip Ampoule $9/.35 oz New ultimate fav! Already repurchased & got 1 for my bf! sun bum - Signature SPF 30 Sunscreen Lip Balm $5/.15 oz Nothin fancy, but my go-to lip balm w/SPF. Great ingredients & price. Definite repurchase! ...went down: UZ - 38°C/99°F LIP TREATMENT Old rating: 4⭐️$20/.21 oz ±0 This treatment balm has very hefty claims; one being “you won’t need lip balm again” The tube is beautiful, but due to its shape, you can’t get any product on the applicator after a bit, texture is too thick. TRULY - Unicorn Fruit Lip Plumping Balm Old rating: 5⭐️$14/1 oz The 1 oz jar is a lot, but the moisture won’t last & if it melts it’s🗑
Quick Lip Balm Roundup💫
💗 In order of favorite to didn’t like 😩 For more info/ingredients, check out my full reviews of almost all of these on my page😉💗 unpa.Cosmetics - Bubi Bubi Lip Ampoule $9 🇰🇷 My absolute favorite! Super hydrating & moisturizing with 3 forms of hyaluronic acid & Ceramides. Soft buttery rose scent🌹I can’t recommend this enough. The price tag isn’t even that bad considering you get twice as much product as a typical chapstick style tube lip balm. sun bum - Signature SPF 30 Sunscreen Lip Balm $5 🇺🇸 My current go-to lip balm with sunscreen (Zinc/mineral) So moisturizing & nourishing for an SPF lip balm! Almond oil, Jojoba seed oil & Shea butter are the first 3 ingredients, & Argan oil comes in 6th. Barely there almond scent. LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask $22 🇰🇷 Scent: Gummy Bear I love this indulgent balm even during the day. Not always in the mood for the grape candy scent though🐻🍇 LANEIGE - Lip Glowy Balm $17 🇰🇷 Scent: Gummy Bear A superb lipgloss-effect lip balm. Very moisturizing but not sticky. Scent isn’t as strong as the sleeping mask. UZ - 38°C/99°F LIP TREATMENT $25 🇯🇵 Shade: ±0 A very thick fragrance free repair balm with prebiotic properties. It’s currently the best selling lip treatment in Japan, but I didn’t feel it was new holy grail. clé de peau BEAUTÉ - UV Protective Lip Treatment Broad Spectrum SPF 30 $65 🇯🇵 A very overpriced chemical sunscreen lip balm that didn’t offer any lasting hydration, but rather made my lips dry & cracked. ChapStick - Moisturizer Original $1-$3 🇺🇸 I used this for years as my SPF lip balm, but it never really “worked” & I would apply it constantly! I stopped using products with petroleum/petroleum derivatives. I find that lip balms with Petrolatum (Vaseline) as the first ingredient/main emollient (moisturizer) just don’t work for me. Rosebud Perfume Co. - Rosebud Salve in a Tube $7 🇺🇸 🥀This is another Petrolatum lip balm that somehow makes its way into “Clean Beauty” at Sephora, but I feel this lip balm is too thin & slippery, & it just doesn’t offer any lasting moisture at all! My lips crave more when I apply this, making it a mess. Being the lip balm addict I am, I had to purchase this from the boutique I was working at last year one day during a shift when I forgot my chapstick. It was the only lip balm we sold😩 💗PLEASE DROP YOUR FAVORITE LIP BALM IN THE COMMENTS, I MUST KNOOOOOO !!!! ( or share one u hate so we can avoid it & save our $ lol)
Reef safe, non chemical, mineral SPF to love!
I’m always on the hunt for a new tinted moisturizing sunscreen that checks off my boxes: • Broad spectrum but also protects from UVA-1 • Reef safe • Mineral based • Won’t break me out • Looks good on my fair skin • Doesn’t feel thick and make me sweat 😓 • Smells ok • A little tinted coverage would be great • Assists with hydration For most of the year I use Dream Tint by Jane Iredale, but during the colder months I need something with more hydration. It’s a fine line though! I don’t want something heavy and gunky. 🙅♀️ I really love all the Epicuren ☀️🧴 sunscreens so when this new tinted all mineral one was launched I jumped on it! So glad I did. 🥰 As with all their other SPF’s this one feels incredible. It goes on rich and creamy and as I rub it in the product just melts into the skin and blends perfectly. My only complaint is with the price tag. I’m used to expensive products and paying $$$ for quality. This still felt a little intense for the tiny tube. 1oz is $84!😳 I grab this one on sale so it felt like a good deal. I REALLY like it and as long as I can get it for $60 or so I think it’s worth it. #cheriecreator epicuren DISCOVERY - Defend and Balance Tinted Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 jane iredale - Dream Tint Moisture Tint Broad Spectrum SPF 15

This week I'm sharing one of my most favorite suncare brands! supergoop . I first started using Supergoop when I had Birchbox in 2013! I have a sensitivty to the sun and find Supergoop to be one of the best to prevent sunburn/hives for my skin. I can't even begin to tell you my favorite product because there are so many I love. But here are 3 products I repurchase time after time. The Lip Balm is hands down the best SPF lip product I've ever tried. It works and does not have a terrible taste. So often SPF lippies taste awful! Daily Correct CC cream. This is a staple in the summer for me. I wear it pretty much everyday. The coverage is actually pretty good. I love that it has Sodium Hyaluronate, Apple extract and Irish Moss / Red Seaweed Extract to help protect against free radicals while outside. Super Power Sunscreen Mousse! I think the main reason I love this is that it is so easy to put on my kid! It's lightweight and rubs in so easily. .

Brand Spotlight: Supergoop!
I discovered Supergoop through the “skinstagram” community (does using this term make me a boomer?) and loved their mission and that they’re a brand dedicated to SPF—that immediately increased my trust in them. However be careful what you wish for... Products I’ll be reviewing: Shimmershade SPF 30 Glow Stick SPF 50 Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 MY FAVES: Supergoop! - Shimmershade Eyeshadow Shimmershade SPF 30 Eyeshadow: this is just an incredible daily cream eyeshadow formula. I hate the heavy feeling of facial SPF on my eyelids and this came in CLUTCH. It feels just like a lightweight cream eyeshadow and looks amazing. I have the shade “” and it looks incredibly seamless when blended in with my fingers for that “next level” eye look. The pot has a ton of product in it for the price point ($24) and I highly recommend you try it at least once. Get a sample from Sephora! Supergoop! - Glow Stick SPF 50 Glow Stick SPF 50: I was really hesitant about this one—I purchased it as a chemical SPF option that wouldn’t pill under makeup. Surprisingly, I love this formula. It doesn’t sit on top of your skin and feels super lightweight. It’s also really easy to reapply during the day! I like that it’s a solid stick formula so it won’t leak or spill in your bag. My only real complaint is the packaging. You push the product up from the bottom and it’s just kind of hard to control at time how much you push up. Like a push pop without being able to push it back down. It also lasts FOREVER so $25 doesn’t seem unreasonable to me. NOT SO MUCH - LEAST FAVE: Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40: this is a translucent blurring SPF formula. The texture is SO silky. I loved how it applied to my skin...but any time I use this, my skin immediately breaks out in a rash. I’m not sure why this happens. I’ve heard so many great things about this product but my experiences haven’t been great, and at $34, I can’t justify the price at all, leaving it in the bottom tier of this brand Spotlight. What are your favorites from Supergoop?
Supergoop!-Glow Stick SPF 50
It’s review time: Coola daydream mineral primer. Coola is a brand that hasn’t been on my radar for long. I think they’re pretty new on the German market. The brand focuses on sunscreen 🧴. They have all kinds of different formulas with different actives: Sprays, powders, lotions. When I visited their website, the mineral primer caught my attention. Three days later, I found it at tk maxx (this actually happened! No wonder I love tk maxx so much!). I obviously bought it right away. Ingredients: The primer has SPF 30 and is broad spectrum, it uses zinc oxide and titanium oxide as a filter. (I don’t generally avoid chemical filters, but I do prefer mineral ones 😊) It also contains added plant stem cells. Plant Stemm cells supposedly have anti aging properties and add anti oxidant protection. It’s kinda hard to tell if that’s true or not though. No alcohol or fragrance, yay! Texture: It feels like a typical primer. Kinda siliconey, which I personally don’t mind. It leaves a slight white cast at first, it disappears after a minute though, so it’s really not an issue. It also makes your skin look a bit more even and fairly matte (but not too matte!) Thoughts: So far I haven’t used it instead of my regular sunscreen, but on top of it. It feels nice and I feel protected. It makes my skin look even and I didn’t have any adverse effects. Not sure if the plant stem cells do anything for my skin. And: I have to admit that I‘m not sure if I would pay the full price. It’s a nice sunscreen and it’s a nice primer, but I could get both for cheaper 🤔🙈 Still gonna check out other Coola products!
COOLA-Daydream Mineral Primer SPF 30
PRODUCT: Supergoop Setting Mist STATUS: LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤️ PRICE: $28 USD SIZE: 100 mL WHERE: Sephora (US) I wear sunscreen Every Single Day and reapply frequently. Reapplying is a must to maintain an adequate level of protection! When wearing mineral sunscreens I simply rinse between applications but, when I’m out and wearing makeup it’s not so easy. Until now, I really didn’t have a great reapplication strategy for makeup days. Enter Supergoop Setting Mist! This stuff is seriously amazing. It makes reapplication SO EFFORTLESS. I simply mist every few hours and I am good to go! I don’t like mixing sunscreen actives. So for days I plan to reapply with the Setting Mist I’ll use the Unseen Sunscreen as my base (the two share the same active ingredients) and since Unseen feels a lot like primer my makeup applies perfectly overtop. It’s a win-win-win 😉 The formula does contain a fair amount of alcohol but I personally haven’t noticed any irritation or dryness. My hypothesis: since the mist is applied over top of my skincare, makeup and first layer of sunscreen my skin has enough protection to prevent any dryness caused by the alcohol evaporation. Supergoop, you need to start shipping to Canada because I want to re-stock (and pick up the mini to keep in my smaller bags)!
