🧴hi I’m Naomi 🐶 Makeup lover turned skincare lover. 32. I love pretty things that smell nice, but I also love researching ingredients! 🍇🐌🍵🐝🥥🍓
If you ever used Eve Lom Dynaspot please help!
So, I used to use this blemish treatment all the time when I had more pimples. I had tried so many spot treatments with poor or disastrous results. I think i discovered it around 2015, & it was the first pimple spot treatment that was effective & gentle enough for me. It didn’t smell great but I could totally deal with that because I loved the results. I remember I originally did a lot of research to find this, & I swear it was marketed as a Sulphur treatment at that time. 🌋Sulfur is usually found in volcanic areas & has a long history of being used for acne treatment. Sulfur is mild & gentle compared to salicylic acid, but is an effective tool used to fight acne because sulfurs can absorb excess sebum, oil & impurities on the surface of your skin. This is a reminder to me to save my boxes. Sometimes the tube or container no longer has the ingredients... whether you take a pic & save it to an album in your phone, it’s always a good idea to keep track of the ingredients in our skincare in case we start to have a reaction, or want to know what’s actually working. I used to save empty boxes forevverrrr & got called a hoarder lol, but now I’m wishing I had the box of this product to figure out what’s going on! When I checked out the ingredients online, they seemed totally different than what I remembered, & I’m totally unsure of what point in time it may have changed... trust I did sooo much digging... Does anyone recall the old formula? Am I crazy? EVE LOM - Dynaspot( I would give the old formula ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) The “new” formula has Salicylic Acid as the main acne fighting ingredient. Nothing wrong with that, but since I’m not even sure if I’ve tried this formula, I can’t speak on my personal results... It does have fragrance? For a pimple treatment? Why!! As well as another red flag : denature alcohol. Eve Lom Dynaspot THE CLAIM: “Developed after years of research, this fast-healing, advanced formula is your emergency breakout treatment. Naturally soothing extracts are carefully balanced with Salicylic Acid to help eliminate bacteria causing blemishes without drying out skin & Zinc Oxide & Yarrow extract to help control sebum production. It can be applied under or over makeup. With a universal skin-tone tint, Dynaspot is perfect for use under or over makeup. The result is fast acting, when and where you need it most.” Ok let’s talk about this description... universal skin tone NO, that’s a ridiculous statement, just look at my swatch. I hate when companies say that it’s just absurd & not inclusive... Wearing over makeup makes no sense to me. It does not blend in with anyone’s skin tone lol & it isn’t something you are going to want to wear & go out & see people... 💰It seemed like such a splurge at the time, but the little $34 tube lasts for a really long time & I would always repurchase when I ran out. ( which wasn’t often 😉) Has anyone tried the new or old formula, or have any insights into the change? I appreciate it!
Unpopular opinion? I didn’t like the 🆕 AA serum
Algenist has a new serum called the AA Barrier Serum & apparently people seem to be loving it... but I guess I didn’t have the same experience. It is an antioxidant-rich, fortifying serum to help defend your skin’s barrier against pollutants & environmental aggressors & help improve the appearance of dullness, redness, discoloration, lines & skin tone. The AA stands for Alguronic Acid®, & it’s formulated with the highest concentration of Alguronic Acid® yet (Algenist’s patented benefit-boosting ingredient made from Algae) This serum also has Niacinamide & antioxidants, Phloretin (from Apple Wood) & Ergothioneine (from Mushrooms). Full ingredients for each product, prices & swatches are all in the slides😊 ALGENIST - AA (Alguronic Acid) Barrier Serum The consistency is thicker & more honey like than most serums. The texture didn’t bother me at all, it was very hydrating, but I could not get past the smell! It was sooo strong! It has an alcohol/herbal combination that doesn’t go away. When I first started with my swatches before I even applied it to my face, this intense smell that kind of affected my breathing started. The product is apparently fragrance-free, but this natural scent of the product is just too much. I don’t have issues breathing normally/asthma or anything, & fragrance doesn’t always bother me in skincare, but this is not a good smell at all. It also burned my skin a bit. ALGENIST - GENIUS Ultimate Anti-Aging Eye Cream I found this to have a slightly odd smell too... All these samples are less than 2 months old, so I think it’s just the inherent smell of these products, though they are technically fragrance-free. Anyways... this is a pretty good eye cream, the texture spread nicely & wasn’t heavy. Very moisturizing but a little greasy... I can’t speak on the longer term effects obviously... ALGENIST - Genius Collagen Calming Relief This is basically a rescue cream for when your skin is particularly parched. It has a thick texture that was still malleable & absorbed well. Again, just a bit of an odd scent to me that will prevent me from purchasing this. But I liked the feel, it was less heavy than the eye cream & not greasy or anything. Have you guys tried any of these? How did you feel about them?

🥛🎀 Marie by Mad Beauty- bath milk & lip balms
Mad Beauty Limited create cosmetics, body care, sheet masks, lip balm & more in collaboration with Disney, Star Wars, Hello Kitty, Barbie etc. Last year the UK-based brand had its Disney license extended to cover the US, Canada, Mexico & Brazil. I haven’t tried anything else by Mad Beauty that I know of, but sadly I was pretty disappointed by these products... Unfortunately there were no ingredients available online on Mad Beauty’s site, nor on ‘Box Lunch’ where I purchased these. They were inexpensive & cute, but I urge you to never purchase something without knowing the ingredients, I broke my own rule & it was a major bummer. Marie is one of my favorite Disney characters. Watch Aristocats if you haven’t!!!!! So good 🎹🐈 MAD BEAUTY - Disney Marie Bath Milk Bottle $8/12.68 oz This bubble bath is supposed to have a Peony & Cherry Blossom fragrance, but honestly it just smells sooooo bad. Kind of like burnt plastic & wet cardboard together, I’m not kidding. It’s unusable! I tried... & I just couldn’t get past the scent, it’s a palpable disgust. I don’t know who would like this. Sorry kitty! Not gonna cry over it, but this milk is SPOILED❌🥛 The ingredients are pretty bad, & side note... a piece of pink plastic was floating in the bottle, ew?!!!! I actually made a loop for the ingredients because they’re curved around the bottle so much... & nowhere to be found on the internet. MAD BEAUTY - Disney Marie Lip Balm Duo 🧶 $8/.05 oz X2 🍒Cherry & Vanilla🌿 Again, I was bummed I didn’t have any way of finding out ingredients prior to purchasing... These do contain mineral oil, which is an ingredient I personally like to avoid completely, especially in lip balm. But they do have vitamin E. They’re so so cute, but very very small, I can really only use my pinky to apply. (Yes you read correctly 0.05 oz each! That’s 1/3 of a typical chapstick tube. They’re decently moisturizing, but nothing spectacular. The shimmer you see in the photos is barely noticeable when wearing. I’m actually gonna rate these separately, the ingredients differ slightly & obviously there are 2 different scents. 🍒CHERRY: ⭐️⭐️ The scent is just too strong, very nauseating cherry candy 🍭😝 🤍VANILLA: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The scent for this one is actually quite nice. It’s much more subtle than the other, I love natural vanilla scents & this surprised me, it’s pretty natural smelling. Fragrance is lower on the ingredients list for the Vanilla, & vitamin E is higher on the list. This is the one gem 💎 from this haul! 🎀PS- my pets gave me the hardest time while trying to shoot this lol... Poor baby got chewed up & taken on a little trip through the dirt, but we spruced her up again with BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O wipes & my ANNA SUI - ANNA SUI Hair Brush 😂

Etude House Haul 🧴🐈 with collagen peptides!
What are Collagen Peptides? Collagen Peptides are Hydrolyzed Collagen. Another term, Amino Collagen, comes from the fact that the collagen protein is hydrolyzed down to shorter amino acid chains. “Hydrolyzed” means the protein is broken down into smaller amino acid chains which can penetrate the skin more easily. I haven’t found a study on hydrolyzed collagen specifically, but collagen molecule as it is, is actually too large to absorb through skin, but is proven to increase moisture levels when applied topically. Could Collagen Peptides be beneficial? Peptides are the building blocks of collagen & elastin fibers in our skin. They can tell your skin to produce even more collagen by stabilizing & transporting compounds important for collagen production. Your body makes collagen naturally, but as you age, the production decreases. In fact, collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, making up 25-35% of the entire body protein content. ETUDE HOUSE - Moistfull Collagen Cream With 65.38% Hydrolyzed Collagen, this ultra moisturizing yet so lightweight water-gel is a great price at $25/2.53 oz. but it SMELLS EXPENSIVE! The scent, a straight up dupe for the heavenly scent of most YSL skincare products (if you know you know!) refreshing/light. This really locked in the moisture for me, the texture is so bouncy & leaves my skin feeling the same way, very Chok-Chok💗 ETUDE HOUSE - Moistfull Collagen Eye Cream Affordable, lightweight, but also very moisturizing with 65.14% hydrolyzed collagen. Great for AM because it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy at all. Very subtle scent. Under $22 for almost double the typical eye cream size! ETUDE HOUSE - SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream This is such a great option for sensitive, oily or acne-prone skin! Low pH, fragrance-free, 93% naturally derived, minimal ingredients. I was worried it would be heavy but I was so wrong! I originally wanted to try the “Hydro Barrier Cream” , purchasing the “2x Intensive” version instead had me a little worried, but the former sold out. The texture & weight is pretty light & easily absorbed. So soothing! I use this on any irritated body skin, my back redness loves this stuff. With Panthenol & Green Tea leaf extract, it really gives my skin a feeling of relief as well as lasting moisture. Only $18 for over 2 oz. The dispenser is really interesting too, can not open in your bag! ETUDE HOUSE - My Beauty Tool Lovely Etti Hair Band Very cute, soft & well made, just wish it were a teeny bit bigger for me. I guess I have a big head, but it seems like kids size... but I liked keeping my baby hair out of my masking for once! ETUDE HOUSE - Soonjung Sheet Mask Panthensoside I didn’t like this much, very odd fit for me. The smell was a little chemical. Hydration just ok ETUDE HOUSE - My Beauty Tool Oil Control Film These get the job done ok

🧫 First Impressions: Algenist Prebiotic Mask
Algenist ALIVE Prebiotic Balancing Mask $32/1.7 oz The Claim: A vegan Prebiotic AND Probiotic color morphing mask that rebalances, detoxifies & hydrates skin; revealing a healthy, alive & refreshed overall glow. Formulated with an algae derived prebiotic & a probiotic ( Lactococcus Ferment Lysate ) to target concerns that may result from unbalanced surface skin bacteria. I made informational slides about the special ingredients in this mask & a quick breakdown on the difference between 🦠probiotics & 🧫prebiotics. ALGENIST - ALIVE Prebiotic Balancing Mask I was excited to try this mask, even before I knew of the color changing aspect🍬 It’s a cool indicator of when the application is complete. After you first apply it, you rub in circular motions until it turns pink. The loop i shot (with help lol) shows me trying to get the color to change in time, but you should massage more gently, so it will take a few moments longer. Once it’s turned pink, you leave it on for 3-5 minutes, then rinse. 💗The texture is very smooth, easy to spread & has a charcoal mask feel. It’s fragrance free, but has the slightest “fresh air” scent. This is just a ‘first impressions’ review & I’ll definitely be using this again soon! It says to use 2-3x/week, but personally I’m not sure if I would use it that frequently because I have dry skin. Though it was not a tight/dry feeling after I rinsed the mask, my skin was incredibly thirsty! I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing, but my usual post-mask hydration & moisture routine didn’t hit like it usually do💦🤷🏻♀️ It didn’t feel drying during any other part of the application. *I added my post-mask routine I used when I tried this product as the last slide. I double-cleansed prior & I use a little May Coop Raw Sauce essence around my eyes & on my neck to keep hydration-comfort while I mask. *There are full reviews of all of those products in my previous posts (except the YSL cleansing balm, which I love, & a review is coming soon)🖤 🧼This may be a great option for oily or acne prone skin. My skin felt refreshed & glowing afterwards & very clean. 🌿It also contains Lactic Acid, Lauric Acid, Palmitic Acid & Myristic Acid. As well as Vitamin E & botanical extracts of Chinaberry flower & leaf, Basil & Holy Basil & Turmeric. 🍬Check out the slides for all ingredients🍬 Luv nay 💌PS- for more information on the origins of Algenist as a brand, check out my recent review of their Liquid Collagen Lip Treatment👄

🍓Skincare Snacks: the series continues...
Welcome to the second installment of Skincare Snacks💙 Posting little informational reminders to eat healthy foods that can specifically benefit our skin! Today we’re serving up a simple berry duo full of whole body & hair benefits!🍓🔵 Strawberries & Blueberries A delicious & simple favorite. Always remember to give a good rinse first🚰❤️ Swipe through the slides for the skincare benefits- 🍓Strawberries are pretty well known for their topical skin & body care benefits; The salicylic acid & ellagic acid reduces hyperpigmentation & dark spots. Salicylic acid also exfoliates dead skin cells. The high concentration of vitamin C in strawberries ( more than oranges actually!🍊) encourages glowing skin & iron absorption for healthy hair growth. ( A lack of vitamin C can lead to brittle hair & dandruff ) Strawberries also have a compound called silica that helps prevent Alopaecia. The Folic acid, vitamins B5+B6 also prevent hair loss. ☀️Studies have shown that the Ellagic acid in strawberries prevents collagen destruction & inflammatory response in skin cells, even after exposure to UV-B rays. They also contain AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid), which cleanses & gets rid of dead skin cells. AHAs also helps to delay signs of aging & help improve sun damage. 🔵Blueberries Some studies have shown that including blueberries in your regular diet can lower your risk of cancer! Rich in antioxidants & Zinc, for a healthy skin barrier. Blueberries are also high in Vitamin B12, Potassium & Vitamin C. Studies have also shown that, over time, blueberries may contribute to better memory, improved mental health & acuity. Swipe through the slides to find out more about their benefits for eyes, hair & heart health💙
DIY BOTTLE HAIR CURLING HACK!
🤔 Fail? 🙊I saw this girl a couple days ago curling her hair with a bottle and I was like ok 🤔 I have to try it when I get a chance so I got a chance last night and this is the result😯what are your thoughts on this ? My conclusion: 🔸The plastic gets really hot 🚫 so make sure to wear gloves before doing this☑️and don’t forget about using heat protectant as well. 🔸It didn’t work that well at first but you can definitely get better practicing this a couple times🙅🏻♀️and I admit I thought this would be a fail 😂 🔸Even though I grabbed thin strands of hair, what I like it that it works if you grab thick strands of hair 😯 Side note: it was my third day hair, which means it was a little greasy and greasy hair holds curls better 😊 I would say this method will give you a natural beachy waves that look really nice but I rather to use my curling wand and straightener 😅of course if you don’t have one this will be amazing for you 🤗

The BEST for redness & irritation!
Krave Beauty Great Barrier Relief ($28/1.35 oz) What It Is: it is a skin-soothing serum that restores your damaged skin barrier while evening out your complexion. This nourishing formula offers irritated skin a reset button by using tamanu oil and other ingredients that mimic a healthy barrier to replenish what your skin lacks. For: Someone who needs to press reset on their irritated skin (e.g. whose skin is constantly dehydrated, who has constant redness and dry patches, who is sensitive to many skincare products) Skincare Concerns: Dehydration, redness, dryness, damaged skin barrier. Texture: Light Pale Green Cream Consistency. My Experience: This stuff is amazing!!!! I have used it for about 9 months and it is a godsend. It heals the skin overnight like no other. And every time I use it I notice a drastic improvement in my redness, especially my cheeks. My skin tone is more even and my skin feels more balanced. I have used it several ways and love every single one of them. I can use it during the day in placed of my moisturizer and it makes my skin feel healthy and balanced (especially in the winter). At night, I can mixed it or used it last step in my serums step, as my moisturizer or with my moisturizer/sleeping mask, depending on my skin needs at that moment and it just works amazing. I have oily skin, prone to dehydration and redness, and I am completely sure that this product has helped keep my skin balanced and more healthy in general. For sure, I use it when my skin has been compromised but I also notice that works beautiful when my skin needs some TLC. It contains amazing ingredients like tamanu oil, safflower oil, rosehip seed oil, ceramides, squalane , phytosterol, and my fav, niacinamide. It sinks into the skin well and quickly, and has a dewy finish. It smells exactly like tamanu oil. This product is definitely amazing to restore our skin’s protective barrier and it is perfect for the winter. Truly, this is one of the only products that completely helps with my redness and restores my skin when it gets compromised. Also, I it helps with hyperpigmentation. And it is incredible affordable! I am in love with this product and I recommend it to anyone. A must have in my skincare arsenal! Cherie Rating: 5/5 Krave - Great Barrier Relief
Krave-Great Barrier Relief
My current favorite lip balm
You guys, I LOVE lip balms. I always have at least one near me at all times. One of my first steps in the morning post-skincare is applying a lip balm. It preps my lips for whatever lip product I’m going to wear. This is the HENNÉ ORGANICS - Luxury LIP Balm V2 I am rarely impressed by lip balms. Usually they only last for maybe an hour or two on my very dry lips. This balm lasts several hours and feels so silky! It glides on clear and is unscented. This balm is made with awesome ingredients, including coconut oil, Shea butter, avocado oil, jojoba, and vitamin E, to nourish and protect your lips. My vegan friends should note this does contain beeswax. Henné’s packaging is very luxurious. The black metal tube feels so sleek in my hand and protects the product well. I also have a tinted version of this that I enjoy. I have barely made a dent in this balm despite daily use over the past few months. This will be a permanent staple in my collection. This balm was gifted to me; however, I am so impressed with this brand and would happily purchase more from them. I’m glad they are a part of the clean beauty space! By the way, Henné has this same balm in potted form, if that’s what you prefer! Price: $19 for a full size. Samples are available for $3 on the Henné website. Totally worth the $ in my opinion, and I rarely say that about a balm that’s more than $10. Availability: Henné products are available on their website, Aillea, Credo, and other online retailers. #CherieCreator

The Top 8 Causes of Oily Skin and How to Treat It
Oily skin can be a constant torment. It leaves your skin looking greasy and shiny even just hours after washing it. It causes breakouts and blemishes, and often sends your foundation sliding off your face well before the day is through. You can blame oily skin on your sebaceous glands, which are tiny glands that produce sebum to moisturize and protect the skin. However, if your sebaceous glands are overproducing sebum then you’ll have a problem with oily skin. There are many reasons why your sebaceous glands might be overactive and therefore many causes of oily skin. Below are 8 of the most common reasons to blame for your oily skin.'
Say Goodbye to Closed Comedones 🖐
Closed comedones look like white or flesh colored bumps found underneath the surface of the skin but large enough that you can see them. They look like almost pimples but are unpoppable. If you try to pop it, chances are you will irritate your skin, bacteria can get inside and it can develop into a poppable zit. Without any intervention, they can last for months or even years. 😭😭It’s a ticking time bomb that can form into a pimple breakout or worse huge cystic acne. They form from a mix of oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria that builds up and plugs a hair follicle. Closed comedones on your cheek area are caused by skin care or beauty products that are blocking your pores. In the chin area, it can be caused by hormonal changes. If it’s in the forehead line the skin could be irritated by an oil based ingredient in your hair products. Luckily there’s something we can do about closed comedones to prevent or treat them. 🚨 TREATMENT 1. Only use non-comedogenic products. Skincare and yes, make up too! 2. Use gentle exfoliants like glycolic acid or salicylic acid. 3. Use benzoyl peroxide - very effective against acne. 4. Use a retinoid to help speed up the cell turnover process. 5. See a dermatologist or esthetician for a facial extraction. 🚨ADVICE 1. Remember that closed comedones take time so be patient. You may not see results right away and it’s more of a long term thing. 2. Stick to your skincare routine or review every product. Do your homework and look up the ingredients. It’s important to know what you’re applying! 🚨PRODUCTS & REVIEW 1. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I’m currently using Paula’s Choice in my skincare routine for PM. I dab some on a fresh cotton pad and apply all over my face. I used to apply it daily but it would dry me out too much so I use it every other day. It definitely works overtime and I’ve seen results. Smaller closed comedones have either disappeared or are on their way. The only thing I don’t like about it is the smell. It smells like gasoline to me. 😖 2. pixi - Glow Tonic On days I’m not using Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliator, I use the Pixi Glow Tonic. It’s 5% Glycolic so its a light exfoliator. Some people achieve results mixing AHA + BHA together but for me, alternating works best for my sensitive skin. Pour some out on a cotton pad and apply on your face after your face wash. 3. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This is a great face mask from The Ordinary. I love the ingredients they use because they only use what isn’t harmful to your skin. At night, on a dry face I apply evenly to my face and neck. I only use this once a month right now because I only purchased it recently. Softly introduce this in your skin care routine because it is STRONG! Hope these 3 products help you on your skincare journey as much as they’ve helped me. Thanks for reading! 🧘♀️
