good but not a mimosa lol, smells like...
... spicy orange juice. Tbh I don’t mind it, most Diptyque scents I’ve tried are “spicy” to me - they’re heavy and linger and fill the room - and this is no different. I got the tiny one because I was worried I wouldn’t like it. Tbh Vanille is still my favorite, but this one is beautiful.

Allies of Skin-Triple Hyaluronic Antioxidant Hydration Serum
hiiii guys! I’m continuing my no/low buy for November (and through the end of the year). If you want the full template, head on over to my highlights on Instagram (@nakiacheyenne) and you can take a screenshot! I like to track my empties as well, so I included an emoji for empties! I am currently focusing on emptying products and shopping my stash instead of purchasing things I don’t need. I have a ton of stuff (like 30+ cleansers), so I see no need to purchase anything as most of my skincare is gifted these days and I cannot afford to spend money on beauty because of covid and the holidays coming up.
pre + post Halloween-Makeup skincare routine
Hi!! With halloween around the corner and face paints and heavy makeup inevitable, I wanted to share some products that I think would be helpful to making sure your skin stays safe and protected under makeup, and things to do post makeup to minimize irritation and acne. Besides your normal routine, here are some things you can add! Obviously I don’t suggest adding all these things in one day, but if you have some of these and you know they work for you, try it out! My skin type: sensitive, acne-prone, rosacea, combo My skin concern: redness, hyperpigmentation Pre Halloween Skincare: + FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask this is one of my favorite hydrating masks; it has a warming effect and it’s very healing. The antioxidants can protect from free radicals and provide a quick moisture barrier recovery. Use it very lightly and it washes off SO well. Smells a bit like honey. + FARMACY - Deep Sweep this toner is absolutely heavenly, it’s great for preparing your skin for incoming acne and clearing up oily skin and extra sebum. Not a lot of fragrance, which is great. This is perfect for halloween because salicylic acid is a bit photosensitive, but at night time there and under masks there is very little that could go wrong in that sense. + romer - romer Treat this product is fairly new to me, but I am very excited about it. It’s a moisturizer/treatment combo, so you can leave it on or wash it off as a mask. I prefer to leave it on; it’s very soothing and rich, so it hydrates my skin so well. Smells very fresh and also a bit like fruit! It’s made with niacinamide and prickly pear, so it’s nourishing as well as a little clarifying. Post Halloween Skincare: + PLANT APOTHECARY - Not A Spot Acne Treatment Mask you know how you can FEEL acne coming after a long day of wearing makeup or sweating or whatever? This mask is perfect for it! I usually use this as a spot treatment unless my skin is really bad - it can be drying on normal or dry skin. If you’re oily or combo, just use sparingly. It’s a powder so you have to follow the directions and mix it with water (or your favorite serum or essence or toner), I usually just do water, and then it’s like a paste! Not much of a smell, but I do like the gentleness of it. + SNP - Cicaronic Sheet Mask after acne masks or clay masks, I like to follow up with a hydrating sheet mask to soothe and calm my skin. This one is perfect - made with centella asiatica aka cica - and the sheet mask actually fits my face for the first time ever! This will add some hydration back into your skin post acne/clay mask and prep for the rest of your routine. Smells like fresh cut grass!

Ouai Hit & Miss
Two products from Ouai - the cult Instagram favorite hair brand - one that worked well for me and one that was meh. It happens!! The same brand will rarely satisfy all your needs. Ouai is a pretty expensive brand for me for what they do - their haircare isn’t phenomenal like olaplex, but is definitely better than most drugstore brands. Today I’ll be talking about a hit from this brand, OUAI - Air Dry Foam and a miss from them, the OUAI - Rose Hair & Body Oil . I’ve used both of these for over a year now, repurchasing both of them, but after trying other things, you’ll see why the miss is a miss and the hit is a hit! My hair type: short, pixie cut - straight mostly, some wave, grows fast by lacks hydration sometimes, small damage. The Hit: OUAI - Air Dry Foam + I used to never style my hair the last time I had a pixie, and when I grew it out, I had not been styling my hair for YEARS. So I didn’t know where to go. I didn’t even own a hair dryer. + I picked this up in a mini kit from Sephora on a whim, and I kinda fell in love. For my shoulder length hair, this product gives my hair texture, some wave pattern, and cuts my air dry time down a bit and makes the process smoother. On my pixie cut, it adds a bit of texture/waves and makes my hair have some bounce. + to use, I pump one pump into my hand (that’s all!!) and then rub my hands together and gently run it through my damp hair. Too much and it will make your hair look a little greasy upon drying. + smells like lemons, bergamot, rose - their North Bondi scent in the perfume! + formulated with kale extract that leaves your hair soft and healthy and never crunchy! The not crunchy part is my favorite. + $28 for 4oz, a great deal in my opinion. The Miss: OUAI - Rose Hair & Body Oil + I used to love this product - I had never tried a hair oil and I thought it was wonderful. This product is multi purpose, meaning you can use it on your body too! + to use, I squirt half a pump into my hand and then rub my hands together. Then I gently and carefully apply it to the ends of my hair, never the roots, but make sure to really hydrate the ends. + to me, this is best used to work out frizz and fluff in your hair - but it doesn’t hydrate or strengthen my hair at all. In fact, it does make it look greasy if I use too much product. + it’s very runny, which some of y’all might like compared to other oils, but I don’t like that. + the scent is melrose place, their other perfume, which is bergamot, lychee, cedar wood, and musk. Not my favorite but doesn’t last too long. + $16 for this size, 1.5 oz. but they have a 3oz for 32$

Briogeo Hit and Miss
I love Briogeo a lot, but sometimes even the brands you love fall short somewhere. Briogeo is a Black-woman owned brand & they make haircare for all hair types! That’s one of their biggest missions, to provide haircare for people will all styles and textures. You can find them at Sephora! Today I’ll be talking about their Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Strength + Moisture Leave-in Mask and the new-ish Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Strengthening Treatment Hair Oil ! These products are from the same line, Don’t Despair, Repair! which focuses on strengthening and repairing damaged hair. My hair type: + short, pixie cut - mostly straight and a little damaged at the ends, lacks hydration some days and grows so fast. The Hit: Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Strengthening Treatment Hair Oil + I have used two hair oils in the past, the verb ghost oil and the ouai rose oil, and I think this falls somewhere in the middle on texture! It’s not too runny (like the ouai) and it’s not too thick (like the verb) + smells nice, a bit like rose, but not overwhelming at all. The smell fades pretty fast, too, so you’re not smelling rose all day. + I use this mostly on the ends of my hair, and even less these days since I have a pixie now. I just take a few drops in my hands and rub them together with my fingers and then lightly comb through the ends of my hair with my fingers and gently pat into damaged spots. You really do not need a lot of product to make it all over your head. + overall, this works really well; my hair is always healthier looking when using this and even if it doesn’t work, it smooths my frizz and flyaways ALL DAY. + has ceramides, macadamia nut, and rose flower oil as its key ingredients. + product is hard to get out of the bottle but that’s my only downside to this. + $30 for 1oz The Miss: Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Strength + Moisture Leave-in Mask + I use this leave in conditioner/mask about twice a week, and I’m not sure it’s doing anything? I’ve only been using it for two weeks though, so maybe I need to use it more to see a better difference in my hair. + it comes out in a spray bottle which I love, all leave-ins should def be this way! + after my shower and while my hair is still damp, I’ll spray a little in my hair (not my roots) and massage it in with my hands, making sure I can spread the product around evenly. + smells pretty innocuous, not much scent profile which is fine by me - I don’t like when my hair care has to compete with my fragrances. + formulated with b vitamins, argan oil, algae, and biotin. + $28 for 4oz, which I think is a great price. + I much prefer the aquis leave in!
Briogeo-Don't Despair, Repair! Strength + Moisture Leave-in Mask
youthtothepeople Hydrate and Glow Dream Mask: This ultra velvety mask boasts some absolutely incredible ingredients (maqui, vitamin c, squalane, and hyaluronic acid) These ingredients work overnight to reveal truly hydrated skin in the a.m. It has been a true blessing in this arctic tundra I that I now live in. herbivorebotanicals Emerald Cannabis Sativa Deep Moisture Glow Oil: This green goddess has quickly become one of my favorite oils ever. Beyond the beautiful hue, this oil contains some amazing ingredients that truly help to soothe irritated skin. The lightweight oil is formulated with hemp seed oil, squalane, and meadowfoam seed oil. It really helps with redness and definitely locks in moisture. Say what you will about overly hyped cannabis/hemp products, but this one really works for me. olehenriksen Banana Bright Eye Creme: Anytime I post a picture with this eye cream, I get quite a few questions about it. So, why do I love it? For one, the texture. This Vitamin C collagen-boosted lightweight cream sits so beautifully under my concealer. It absorbs quickly, yet leaves my under-eye feeling completely moisturized. At first, I didn’t notice any sort of brightening effect. Overtime, I have definitely seen a overall brightening of my eye area. freshbeauty Soy Face Cleanser: This cult favorite cleanser is highly regarded for a reason. It gently dissolves makeup without drying my skin. Beyond cleansing, it leaves my skin feeling plump with each use. Borage seed oil, rosewater, and amino acid-rich soy proteins promote balance and elasticity. It’s so simple, yet effective.

Do you have irritated or unbalanced skin?
When I first heard about the Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner INDIE LEE - CoQ-10 Toner I thought “why would I ever need something like this when I could just use a moisturizer?” Moisturizing toners just did not make sense to me. I saw it all over Instagram and never understood the hype. However, a couple months ago I started using this toner because my skin was super dry and irritated and seemingly imbalanced. I was always breaking out and flaking and too oily in other places. It was a mess! So I decided to start using this and found out that enzyme CoQ-10 not only assists in skin hydration, but also in protection—to help keep your skin IN CHECK! The consistency is pretty much just liquid. It doesn’t leave any sticky residue and soaks into the skin in 2-5 mins. It also has a slightly natural scent but it isn’t overwhelming at all. My skin type is sensitive, rosacea acne prone and combination depending on the season! This bottle is huge and heavy. I would definitely not be comfortable traveling with it, but they do have a mini size I would consider buying for when I travel. My routine when I use this is: -morning only, post-cleanse -it is a spray...but says to avoid the eye area. so I spray 2x into my hand and press it into my face instead. -allow to dry completely and continue with other serums after! I have to say I think this is one of the products that has helped my skin balance so much. It’s almost like my skin has been fighting something and is totally relieved now. I am breaking out less and acids are irritating me less and less! Also even though I’ve been using it for 2 months almost every day, it’s still 90% full. Insane! I have to rate it 5/5 and I highly recommend trying it out in their discovery kit if you’re interested in a hydrating, protective toner.

My go-to concealer for “No-Makeup Makeup”
Milk Makeup’s Flex Concealer Milk MAKEUP - Flex Concealer has been my holy grail concealer for SO long! I’m on my second tube. My first tube lasted me about 8 months. It’s a light consistency that can be blended out with your fingers (the brand prefers this) or your makeup sponge or brush. I personally apply this with a foundation brush with stippling movements to blend it out without it looking splotchy. Milk’s concealer line has a great, balanced shade range and I love that it comes in a tube so you can squeeze out every last bit! I mainly use this product to even out my skin tone and red spots by itself—I never wear it with foundation and never set it with powder. Is wears so naturally and lasts all day!! I have to mention that it is a medium coverage concealer so it lets me let some of my blemishes show through it which really helps with my “no makeup” makeup looks. And I’m so happy that it has a shade that matches my body skin tone EXACT!! This tube costs $28 and I think that is SUCH a great price for a higher end concealer that lasts SO long. If you’re able to go grab a sample from Sephora to test it out, I highly recommend it for all skin types!! I’m rating this product 5 out of 5 stars because I can rely on it, I fully support the brand, and it’s affordable for a higher end concealer.

Glossier Mega Greens Galaxy Mask
I love using this for oil control! It’s a deeply cleansing and detoxifying mask that helps to manage any excess oil. My experience - I love using this for whenever I feel like my pores need some deep cleaning and help with oil control on my face! I love that the texture of this is pretty flexible so it’s easy to spread all over my face and it also doesn’t tingle, which is awesome! This mask washes off like a dream and doesn’t leave any weird residue spots which is rare for a clay mask. This retails for $22 and I would honestly recommend it to anyone looking for a great clay mask! Kosas Wet Lip Oil Gloss
This is the shade fruit juice from the Kosas - Wet Lip Oil Gloss line. I enjoy the color, though it’s a bit much on my very pale skin at the moment. I do think it’s a very nice, not-too-pink, not-too-purple berry colored lip gloss. However, I feel like this product can’t decide how pigmented it wants to be. The pigment and application is very uneven and really needs to be worked into the lips with a finger. I haven’t tried the other colors so I don’t know that this review is consistent for every shade in the range. I give it 4 stars because it is a very good product and because I would name my firstborn after Kosas if the asked me to do so.
