clean beauty you need!
This BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil has been a lifesaver for me lately. It’s mega hydrating and insanely lightweight, and I want to share some information about it! + About Biossance + So this company actually started out with scientists who created an accessible cure for malaria. They were inspired to move into skincare & create products made with science and sustainability in mind. All of their products include squalane; the human body makes squalene (note the spelling). Over time, our bodies make less squalene. Squalane locks in weightless moisture, calms and protects, improves elasticity, and balances oil production without clogging pores. + Squalane and Vitamin C Rose Oil + This face oil claims to visible brighten, firm, and even skin tone. It’s very luxurious, and is suited best for dry to normal skin types, but I’m normal to oily and it’s been great for me! The key ingredients are: tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (oil soluble vitamin c), squalane, and chips crystal oil (helps nurture). + My Thoughts + I’ve been using this for about 2.5 weeks, and I don’t think I want this out of my life! I use it in my AM routine (2-3 drops in my moisturizer) and as a last step (5-6 drops) at night. My skin tone is less red and more even, breakouts are calmed quickly and fade fast, and my skin is bouncy and also firm! It’s $72 for 1oz, which is SO expensive for me. I’m lucky this was a gift from the brand, but I will repurchase this when I empty it for sure. A little goes a long way, and it doesn’t make me greasy or oily, just glowy and hydrated!

youth to the people adaptogen cream
Honestly? I wasn’t expecting to like this. I have normal skin (sometimes combo with oily bits), and was told by many that this would be too thick for me. However, I think it’s PERFECT! this makes my skin so soft and smooth, but hydrates and moisturizes so well. No fragrance is an added plus, and I will be picking up a full size when I empty some products! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi

hyped but no.... necessaire body serum
Oh I wish I loved this! I will say... it’s good. But it’s not as great as I wanted it to be, unfortunately. Nécessaire - The Body Serum Product claims: — multi hydration treatment for skin health — hydrate, replenish, plump Key Ingredients: — hyaluronic acid — vitamin B3 — vitamin B5 — ceramide NP My overall thoughts — I love that this is fragrance free! It makes it suitable for all skin types regardless of sensitivity. — I also love the sleek packaging, the pump top dispenser, and how easily product is released. — the serum itself is a milky white, a tad bit tacky, and provides enough hydration for 2-3 hours without a body moisturizer, and up to 12 hours with the necessaire body lotion! — overall, I’m not impressed by this for the price ($45) but I got this as a gift with purchase so I’m not too upset. I do not think it’s a necessity, and I will not be repurchasing!

worth it? Jet lag vs moon mask and glow mask
Today I’m going to be comparing three hydrating masks, or rather, two masks against one, the oh so esteemed SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask . Up against it are the Glossier. - Moisturizing Moon Mask and frank body - Glow Mask . Cost: — SF: $48 for 2.25oz — Glossier: $22 for 3oz — Frank: $22 for 2.70oz Application (flash mask) — SF: applies patchy and uneven, hard to layer effectively, packaging is cute but not helpful. Hard to wash off the excess. — Glossier: love the jar packaging but I wish it was more hygienic to get out, I love how smoothly this applies and how easy it is to wash off. — Frank: my favorite of the three, smells like icing and coats my skin in a layer of hydration. Wash off is easy. Overnight Mask — SF: a very good overnight mask, kind of leaves a weird residue in the mornings — Glossier: not great as an overnight mask, but it sinks in completely by morning which in insane — Frank: N/A Key ingredients: — SF: vitamin c, sodium hyaluronate, vitamin e, arginine — Glossier: sweet almost oil, hyaluronic acid, squalane, licorice root — Frank: coffee see oil, cocoa and Shea butter, goji berry Overall: — SF: I don’t think it’s worth the money, when you could get the glossier and frank bod mask for less than the price of it. I like it but... I don’t think is worth the price just because it’s so instagrammable and cute. I do like how minty the scent is, and it IS hydrating, but other than that I don’t love it. — Glossier: I was actually gifted this from Cherie and I’m kinda surprised at how much I like it, considering I thought they were a superficial cosmetics brand. This product is a pretty good product for the price! — Frank: all time favorite hydrating mask, also is brightening and gives me a glow like no other. Affordable and easy squeeze tube, I also love this brand as a whole and their values!

my go to palettes for....
DAILY LOOK: Too Faced - Just Peachy Mattes Eyeshadow Palette – Peaches and Cream Collection — perfect for every day because they’re all my favorite colors! I reach for pink and peach in palettes with hints of brown. — perfectly pigmented colors, but still buildable if you want a light look. I tend to gravitate towards the nudes and browns for daily wear and add in a bit of pink for fun. — packaging is nice with a large mirror and big pans. TRAVEL: CANMAKE - perfect stylist eyes 10 Sweet Flamingo — I love these colors for travel, and the colors aren’t really powdery but more so creamy, so I like using it when I travel because the likelihood of it breaking and getting everywhere is smaller! — I use the light brown shade for my crease, the dark brown shade on the outer corners, and then a pink or two for the lid. — my only complaint with this palette is I wish it had a mirror! NIGHT OUT tarte - Rainforest of the Sea™ sizzle eyeshadow palette — this palette has all my smoky colors that I want at night! I can easily create a whole eye look with this one palette and I think it screams “night out”! — I love the glimmer in each of them, and I love that the color is buildable so I can get the kind of effect I want easily. — I enjoy most of these shades, which is surprising for a whole palette. — I love the packaging a lot and how easily accessible the colors are even though they’re in the round.

worth it? viicode vs patchology
Hi guys! Today I’m going to be talking about some eye mask/patches I’ve used and whether or not I think the more expensive option (Viicode) is worth it. Cost: — The Viicode masks come out to about $9.16/pair of eye masks. — The Patchology masks come out to $3/pair, so you can get three Patchology masks for the price of a Viicode one! Application: — The Viicode patches are meant to be worn for up to 8 hours, or overnight. They tend to not slip around very much and are very sticky. — The Patchology patches are meant to be worn for only 15-20 minutes. They all tend to slide around on my face unless I put a sheet mask on top or stop moving. Claims: — The Viicode patches are overall plumping and brightening, and of course luxurious. I think they are rather hydrating and the effect lasts all day after I wear them at night. I didn’t think they were going to work as well as they do. — all of the Patchology patches I’ve tried are good but not great. They are brightening and plumping a bit, but not the most hydrating, and the effect doesn’t last super long throughout the day. Worth it? Both are worth it! — I think the Viicode patches are worth the price, but it’s not something I can afford all the time. They are a very luxurious set that I use before social events or important work events (and I can see myself using them on my wedding day!). — The Patchology masks are much more accessible and affordable comparatively. They are not at all the same caliber of product compared to the Viicode, but that’s okay! In this case, they are great for every day or twice a week use. Good for mornings when I wake up looking a mess! Kosas Wet Lip Oil Gloss Mood Board
Kosas - Wet Lip Oil Gloss This is Kosas’s Wet Lip Oil Gloss in the shade Jellyfish ✨ I chose pink cupcakes to include in this moodboard because it reminds me of this soft pink lip gloss! It’s such a pretty clear shade with slight pink undertone! Kosas was kind enough to send me this lipgloss and I’m so obsessed I bought more! I love the scent, it’s fruity and sweet. This lip oil hydrates my lips either on top of other lip products on or by itself. It has such cute packaging too! I thought this would be more of a lip oil texture but it’s actually more like a non-sticky lip gloss. I also love the other shades they have and wear them often! They’re so convenient to keep in your purse for touchups throughout the day! The only downside to this product is that it’s a little expensive for the small amount you get ($27). But if that’s not a problem for you, this is my favorite everyday gloss and you should definitely give it a try!

Fenty Poutsicle RED LIP WEAR TEST! 💋
How long can a hydrating lipstick last? I’m not really into matte lipsticks, even though they’re long wearing. My favorite lipsticks are satin or glossy finish and I’m just used to touching them up during the day...but what would happen if I didn’t? For reference, my skin tone is fair and my skin type is sensitive combination dry and acne prone. Today I put the Fenty Poutsicle Lipstick FENTY BEAUTY - Poutsicle Juicy Satin Lipstick in the shade “Hot Blooded.” This lipstick formula is amazing!! It’s hydrating and seriously makes my lips look so luscious and JUICY. Let’s talk about what I did today and why the lipstick was completely gone at the end of my day... 1:00 PM—I applied the lipstick on top of a lip liner at 1 PM. Please note that I didn’t use any straws while drinking water and I wasn’t particularly careful while eating today... 😂 after this, I took a swig of my water and went to do chores for the next few hours!! I ate a yogurt and took many sips of water. 4:00 PM—here you can see I still have a good tint going and the lip liner on the top of my lip is STRONG! Any other day I would probably have reapplied the lipstick by now. After this I ate dinner and... 5:00 PM—well that was fun. The lipstick was completely gone by 5 PM. Honestly, not bad! 3-4 hours between reapplication is great in my opinion. And it didn’t get on my teeth ONCE! Overall I got this lipstick for $14 at Sephora and I’ll call that a STEAL! It’s one of my favorite warm red lipsticks especially in the winter time since it’s so hydrating. 5 out of 5 stars!!

Feeling Golden Today with Tarte 🌟
Today’s mood board aesthetic is brought to you by Tarte’s Chrome Paint Shadow Pot in the shade Park Avenue Princess. tarte - Chrome Paint Shadow Pot This look is my go-to for nights out when I only have 10-15 minutes to get ready. The chrome paint is a powder pot that glides on so effortlessly like a cream! Perfect for finger application in a rush! The pigmentation is amazing and I usually only experience a tiny bit of fallout. Now let’s talk about the photo here—this speaks to me on another level. The Golden vibes and Buddha just calm my mind and take me away from reality...like how easy this look was. The Golden vibes just go together and feel light and “natural” but “elevated natural.” You feel me? I can’t recommend Tarte’s chrome paints enough. They’re $22 per pot but that last FOREVER...and that’s on Tarte. The other products I used here: YSL the shock mascara, Tarte’s so fine eyeliner, Fenty beauty bronzer. Have you used Tarte’s Chrome Paints? What are your thoughts?

Celery Green Cream 🥬🥒
My last post was featuring avocado and now I’m on to my veggies featuring VOLITION - Celery Green Cream with Hyaluronic Acid + Peptides ! This moisturizer “purifies and helps improve hydration retention for poreless, healthier-looking skin,” as mentioned on Sephora’s website. I started using this mask back in November because I wanted to prepare for the winter cold seasons approaching the east coast. I won this from a super generous giveaway and since then it’s been one of my favorite creams! I have oily combo skin but during the winter months I experience dry patches and need extreme hydration as soon as possible. This cream has a thicker consistency and a lovely scent that reminds of a green juices! Hence, my emojis for this product! There is not an exact celery emoji but this green leaf veggie was the closet thing to it. And in addition to celery, this product has cucumber extract as well 🥒. This moisturizer is a green juice for your face and guess what, my face is here to drink it up! This product retails for $55.00 and brings 1.7oz. In my opinion it is pretty expensive item but it’s an effective one. My two cents are always if you can afford it and if it’s in your budget, then go ahead and spoil yourself. If not, there are other face products that hydrate just as well! I never want to be a person that pushes expensive problems to peers, so y’all can decide what is worth to splurge on! If y’all have used it, let me know your thoughts! 💚💚💚

My favorite morning facial oil 🌹
If you’re looking to add moisture into your morning routine without ending up with a greasy face, STOP RIGHT THERE! This oil BIOSSANCE - Limited Edition Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil from Biossance has been a recent addition to my routine (2 weeks of daily use so far) and I can confidently say I’m not afraid to use an oil in my morning routine anymore! This is a squalane-based facial oil featuring brightening properties in the form of rose and vitamin C. Now, I have used squalane oils in the past from other brands, but Biossance’s is 100% derived from plants and GIRL IT SHOWS! It’s extremely lightweight while still giving you an instant boost of moisture and it leaves you with an satin finish rather than a DEWY (or, lets be honest, greasy) finish. OH, AND, it has an amazing smell! I chose to use rose emojis in my photo because it smells so beautiful like roses! The scent isn’t overpowering either, just a nice added bonus. I have to mention since I’m a sensitive skinned lady that I have had ZERO, ZILCH luck in the past when it came to vitamin c products—they ALL gave me an instant allergic reaction of redness and itchiness. However, this is the first vitamin c product that actually soothes my skin! In my morning routine, I use 3 drops after my Hyaluronic acid serum and before my moisturizer. It gives me an awesome boost of moisture especially in this harsh, dry winter! Now, lets talk price: $72 for 1oz—ouch! However, with daily use for 2 weeks I’ve barely made a dent in it so I estimate it will last at least 6-8 months. For a high quality product like this, I find that reasonable. Is it affordable for everyone? Absolutely not, but skincare is one of the only things in my life that I splurge on, so I can justify it. I should also mention that Biossance always has a value kit with this oil in it so you have a chance to save money that way!! I have to rate it 5 out of 5 stars because it’s not only suitable for my sensitive skin, but it’s a product I actually look forward to using every day.
