It really works!!!!! Differin update
I have been using the whole differin collection for some months now and I’m definitely happy with the results. I hardly get any acne anymore . I stuck to a routine and saw results almost immediately! I’m confident my acne won’t be returning, now I’m just working on my dark spots and hyperpigmentation.

Skincare products that RUINED my skin...part 1!
Here are 10 products that I used to use and what I think of them. Check out other post showing my BEFORE & AFTER photos! 📸 These are the products/ routine that I showed my dermatologist, but there are more products that I used along with these! Stay tuned for my NEW routine! 1️⃣Mario Badescu Rose Facial Spray with aloe, herbs and rosewater. $7 for 4 oz ⭐️⭐️Review: Overall this product did not improve my overall skin. The ingredients are very cheap and are basically water and fragrance. 2️⃣ PractivMD deep cleansing face wash. $30 for 6 oz ⭐️⭐️Review: This face wash was super annoying with the tiny blue balls that they put in the scrub. This scrub stripped my skin of moisture, and I also used it too many times a day. 3️⃣Shea moisture Bamboo Charcoal Hydrating Gelee Moisturizer. $11 for 2 oz ⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: This moisturizer was a bouncy Jelly texture that was fun to put on my face. There was some good ingredients in the product. 4️⃣Thayer’s Witch Hazel Rose scented Toner. $11 for 12 oz ⭐️⭐️Review: Basically a waist of money, when you can find better ingredients than Witch Hazel. 5️⃣Sheer Cover Nourishing Moisturizer spf 15. $15 for 2 oz ⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: This product was super lightweight and had no white cast. The sun protection is too little though (spf 15). 6️⃣Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer with Salicylic Acid step 3. $6.39 for 4 oz ⭐️Review: This product would burn. Not sting, but burn, for a long time and be painful. 7️⃣Olay Clearly Clean Acne Treatment Scrub with essence of citrus-mint. *discontinued ⭐️Review: This product broke me out once I used it. Also very stripping and rough to my face. 8️⃣Basis Cleaner Clean Face Wash. $6 for 6 oz ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: This was the best cleanser that I had back then. Gentle but has fragrance. 9️⃣Differn Acne treatment gel. $16 for 0.5 oz ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: This product worked well, but also dried my face out. Make sure to buy a thicker cream for face and do research before buying. 🔟Pop Vibrating Face Scrubber mini. $25 from Tjmax ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: Gave my face a nice gentle exfoliation and helped deeper clean my face with the vibrations. 2nd Week On Differin: Retinization
Daily Use and Irritation: I switched to using Differin daily during my second week. I noticed my skin was getting slightly more irritated. This irritation is known as retinization, which is normal when starting topical retinoids. My face was red, irritated, and itchy. I also started purging near my chin, but those breakouts resolved relatively quickly. The irritation peaked around the time I started daily use, but has since subsided. I was definitely expecting a worse retinization reaction, since my skin is pretty sensitive; however, the irritation wasn’t as uncomfortable as I anticipated. How I Dealt with Irritation: Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! I don’t think it’s possible to over-moisturize your skin while using topical retinoids. I also recommend applying differin over your moisturizer to reduce any irritating effects. I was using the DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream, but I felt like it was too light of a consistency. I ended up running out of the Protini Polypeptide during this time, so I switched over to using DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream. The Lala Retro Whipped Cream has a much richer consistency than the Protini Polypeptide, and it leaves my skin feeling super soft in the morning after PM application. I also started used the THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balmas a 10 minute face mask to help soothe and moisturize my irritated skin.

I ❤️ OATS! (Acne routine)
Hi everyone! Since I’ve been struggling with maskne recently, I’ve tried to be minimal with my skincare using ultra-soothing products. Here’s my current routine: AM: Aveeno - Calm + Restore Nourishing Oat Facial Cleanser Love this new cleanser! Super gentle but still effective. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner I ❤️ THIS TONER! I live in a college dorm and the bathroom is down the hall, so I use this as soon as I get back to my room after washing my face. Fragrance free (yay!) and soothes my cystic acne. Aveeno - Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer This gel-cream is great! I’ve used Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream and PURITO - Deep Sea Pure Water Cream as gel moisturizers in the past, but I’ve really been enjoying Aveeno’s new oat version! Clindamycin gel (prescribed by dermatologist) - topical antibiotic, similar to benzoyl peroxide’s antibacterial properties. DIFFERIN - Oil Absorbing Moisturizer SPF 30 Just got this a few days ago. Sunscreen is essential, especially since I’ve been using tretinoin. PM: Same cleanser, toner, and gel-cream. CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream I use this as a thicker moisturizer on top. Non greasy and does not cause breakouts. Tretinoin (prescribes by dermatologist- I wait for my moisturizer to dry and soak in completely, and apply tretinoin after. I find my skin is least irritated that way. I hope bringing my routine back to the basics lets the tretinoin and clindamycin work their magic. I’ll keep you guys updated! 😊❤️❤️

It’s been about a week since my last update. I noticed I have less bumps, but nothing drastic. It’s one of those things only ‘you’ can notice. But anyway, I wanted to add the products I have been using regularly for these past few weeks and months for some products. The first slide is what I use in the morning and the second slide is what I use at night. For mornings, I wash my face with the low PH cleanser and use an SPF moisturizer everyday. I’ve been using these products since before I started using Differin. I haven’t had any problems with either of these products. At night I use the Cetaphil normal to oily skin cleanser and then apply Differin all over my face. I wait a few minutes and then apply my CeraVe night cream. I started using these products when I started Differin. I also haven’t had any problems with these products. I wasn’t sure what products to use when I started my Differin journey so hopefully this helps someone navigate their way through so many products out there. COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser dear, klairs - Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA ++++ Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream

my skin journey?? I'm new here
I've struggled with acne since I was a preteen. Back then, I used harsh products that dried out my skin because I thought it was the best way to combat my oily complexion. I couldn't have been more wrong. What my skin needed was hydration, and I was stripping it every time I washed my face. (which was probably about four times per day. Oh yeah. I was obsessed.) When I was 21, my skin had its worst breakout ever, and I was forced to reevaluate the way I took care of my face. I learned about the importance of hydration, and I learned that my sensitive skin needs more gentle products to avoid irritation. I started a basic three step routine twice a day: cleanse, tone, and moisturize. Since then I've also incorporated masks (store-bought and homemade), exfoliation, serums, and even skincare tools like face rollers. I deleted all the pictures of my worst breakouts because they made me feel awful, but I can show you my skin now. It's not perfect, but I'm happy with the way I care for it, and I'm learning more every day.
✨ ALL NATURAL SKINCARE 🍓🌞
I've struggled with acne for 10 years and am always on the hunt for a good healthy product. I've been using SudzAndWhey's Calendula face bar for several months now and absolutely LOVE it. It's soft and moisturizing and contains calendula petals which make the soap pretty and also exfoliating!! It's also made with goat milk and essential oils, both of which are good for skin and the essential oils also make it smell yummy. Highly recommend if you want to fight acne or just want a nice soap for facial care. I buy it on etsy from SudzAndWhey.
With patience, Differin worked for me!
I’ve always been skeptical of the products that cause purging, but while in quarantine I decided to give Differin a shot! My skin was congested, breakouts are always popping up, and they were painful. I’ve always been the kind of person to take care of my skin, but I couldn’t manage to get rid of my team for breakouts and the terrible texture on my cheeks and jawline. So, I gave Differin a try. - At first, my skin definitely was dry and irritated because of the product, but I made sure to moisturize well. I tried not to put any make up on and just let my skin do its thing. It’s also important to not pick at your face, which I am SO guilty of doing. - I know everyone’s skin is different, but it only took about a month for it to clear up! I just had another flare up but I’m not sure if it’s stressed related bc #unemployedgrad but this really helped me! Just stay consistent and you’ll see results quickly! 😇

Rosen products for acne!
Hi! Today I have a little review post on these Rosen goodies. They’re part of their Clear Routine, and as someone with acne prone skin, I knew these were gonna work out great for me! You can purchase these individually as well. The ROSEN SKINCARE - Break-Out is a cult Instagram classic and I’ve had good luck with it so far! It’s a spot treatment that you just kinda dab on your pimple and, overnight, your skin is supposed to be remedied. I noticed that this works best on pimples that have already formed, but still works on under the skin pimples to bring them to the skin faster. The key ingredients in this are zinc oxide and peppermint oil & I haven’t had great experiences with peppermint in the past, but this is non-irritating. The scent of this stings my eyes for about thirty seconds after application, but subsides then. However, I do not recommend you use this on dry skin, because this is very drying! This is a really great spot treatment otherwise. The other product I wanna feature is the ROSEN SKINCARE - Earth Cleanser . I don’t wash my face in the mornings, but I use this twice a week at night. My acne is clearing up faster than ever when I use this, and sometimes I use it on my chest for acne as well. The scent of this is really really strong, and it contains earth clay, zinc oxide, and eucalyptus. It’s surprisingly gentle, though, and I really don’t mind using this at night because it’s pretty refreshing and super calming! These were gifted by the brand in exchange for an honest review.
