Bite Foundation - not worth the hype
Bite Foundation - not worth the hype
The last hyped product I tried was the Bite Changemaker Foundation, and unfortunately I was disappointed. I wanted to LOVE this! I am a huge fan of bite and I had seen so many glowing reviews. It is a medium coverage foundation with a natural finish. Bite is known for their clean lipsticks, and this was their first venture into the complexion space. What I love about bite is their use of food-grade ingredients and naturally derived ingredients. My skin has dry patches mostly around my nose, mouth, and chin. On the areas without dry spots this foundation looked BEAUTIFUL! However on the dry areas it did cling and emphasize texture. The deal breaker for me, however, was the scent of the product. I am not totally fragrance-averse. I am ok with it in some products. However the actual scent was atrocious! It smelled musty and moldy like a dirty dish rag. And the smell did not fade once applied. It lingered all day long! It was honestly gag worthy. Needless to say I returned this one! BITE - Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation

Papaya 1972 - peachy flush 🍑
Papaya 1972 - peachy flush 🍑
This is the powder highlight and blush duo from Kosas in shade Papaya 1972. It has a beautiful peachy blush and a champagne highlighter. It is very similar to the shades in their cream duo Velvet Melon, just in a powder formula. I find that this one packs a lot more pigment than the cream duo. If you’re looking for a more pronounced pop of colour, you will prefer the powder to the cream blush. I do however, prefer the cream highlight to the powder highlight in this duo. The powder highlight doesn’t give as natural of a glow, and on my skin tone, it’s almost too subtle to see without packing it on. All in all I prefer this duo for the blush colour, it is a beautiful shade with a satiny sheen! This duo was gifted * Kosas - Color & Light: Pressed Powder Blush & Highlighter Duo

Dewiest blush! Perfect for glass skin look 🌸
Dewiest blush! Perfect for glass skin look 🌸
These are the Nudies Bloom multipurpose cream sticks from NudeStix. They can be used for eyes, cheeks, and lips, although I love them best for blush! They are a twist on their original Nudies mattes, but these have a sheer, glossy finish. These give a beautiful and natural stained look to the cheeks. The first swatch is Poppy Girl which is a bright coral red that gives the most beautiful flush to the cheeks. I like to wear this one on my lips as well. This is one of my absolute favorite blushes! The second swatch is Cherry Blossom Babe, a beautiful pinky rose. It is a more soft and girly blush. I absolutely love these. They are hydrating on my dry cheeks and very long wearing. They’re also silicone free! These are such a staple in my summer makeup bag! NUDESTIX - Nudies Bloom

Hate this foundation!

It actually photographed quite nicely. But I really don’t like this foundation! It’s the BURT'S BEES - Burt’s Bees Goodness Glows Liquid Foundation 29.5ml . I am wearing shade 1025 Natural Beige. This formula just sat on top of the skin and didn’t blend out nicely. It didn’t fuse or melt into the skin so it looked like I was wearing a mask of makeup in person. It also gathered around my mouth and nose and emphasized fine lines and texture. All in all I think there are much better options out there at the drugstore price point. This one is a fuller coverage, and I prefer something more sheer. If you like full coverage and glowy, you may enjoy this one. But it was not for me. I was disappointed because I like a lot of the other Burt’s Bees products. This foundation was sent complementary in exchange for review.

Perfect brush to apply cream blush!
Perfect brush to apply cream blush!
This is the Real Techniques Instapop Cheek Brush (405). It is my favourite for applying cream blush products, especially my fave Nudestix Nudies. It has synthetic fibres with a dense angled head that makes it the perfect tool to both stipple and blend cream cheek products without lifting or smearing your foundation underneath. When used with cream blush it helps to achieve that “glowing from within” look and a really natural finish. The price is great too! It’s $9.99 USD or $14.99 CAD. I highly recommend this brush! 💕 REAL TECHNIQUES - Instapop Cheek Brush

A green juice for your face?!? Yes please.
A green juice for your face?!? Yes please.
This is my second full sized bottle of YTTP Kale 🥬 + Green Tea 🍵 Spinach & Vitamins 💊💊💊 and I’ll forever be a fan (I’ve also gone through two minis 😬). This CLEAN, very gentle, lightweight gel but subtly foaming cleanser gives me all the feels. It smells spectacular (like green tea), feels amazing and is a perfect morning and second cleanse. It’s not stripping but gives a nice clean - definitely what I love in a cleanser. Using this consistently I’ve noticed calmer skin, a bit less redness, way less congestion and acne, and overall softness. Absolutely love this! I have a bit of a cleanser collection but I will definitely repurchase this as long as it’s sold! 💚🥬💊💚 A must have for sensitive and combination skin! #cherieconversations #youthtothepeople #cleanser YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser Kale + Spinach + Green Tea + Vitamins, oh my!

I am obsessed with this Ilia Beauty Multi-Use pigment! This can be used for both a blush and a lip color. It is creamy, super easy to apply, easy to blend, can be build up for a high intensity color, or lightly applied for a sheer natural look. I just love that this product can be used for different things, (lips and cheeks). It doesn’t make my skin look dry or overly greasy either, just very dewy. This also lasts all day on the cheeks. Absolutely gorgeous product! I definitely recommend this, and it is 100% worth the time/effort and price! ILIA - Color Haze Multi-Matte Pigment Cream Color

Drug store holy grail plus Dupe!

Every since I’ve started makeup professionally I have used this medium cocoa powder for contouring/bronzing. I love it so much because it is NOT orange pigmented! Which can look very unnatural. It is very brown based which leaves a nice shadow effect. That’s what we are going for! Well after my 10th time buying this pallet just for the medium powder and bake powder (leaving the other two completely untouched) I decided to look around more. That’s when I discovered this product!!! Milani silky matte bronzing powder 💚🙌 So much more affordable for the same results! Easy to apply 3x the product A third of the price Much more compact/ travel friendly MILANI - Silky Matte Bronzing Powder Too Faced - Cocoa Contour Chiseled to Perfection Sets on skin so beautifully Blends perfectly All day wear Not tested on animals What’s not to love!? I will not go without this product in my bag.
