Acne Scars?
musicsms
So I'll be honest, I'm a pharmacist not an esthetician. My knowledge of products are one dimensional and I did little research when I bought this product a year ago.
When I bought this product I was looking for something more 'science' based to treat hyperpigmentation from acne scars and uneven skin textures. I was skeptical that this product would work for me after paying $25 on Amazon. I gave it a shot and applied it religiously every morning as part of my basic skincare regime.
After a few months, I noticed some of the scars were lighter and began to fade. However, I feel as if I reached a plateau with the product. I do not get the same results as I was getting a year ago....which sucks. I love this product but my skin grew tolerant of it. I stopped using it for a couple of months and just started incorporating it in my regime again.
I would rate it 4/5 stars because of the potential this formulation has. Me, not being a skincare guru probably just needs to learn how to apply it better....and buy it from Sephora or Ulta for $8 next time.

CheronBuchananYeah I would give it a break
Like do 60 days on 30 days off
And I would add a exfoliation product like lactic acid from the ordinary 💗

Not the perfect dupe - Ordinary’s Niacinamide
I originally used the Paula’s choice 10% Niacinamide booster and absolutely loved it! Instead of purchasing a $50 product I decided to purchase the The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% as a dupe for the Paula’s choice. I must start by saying that was a HUGE mistake.
Before I get into my experience with this product. I have to mention that I did do my research before purchasing this product. I read many reviews stating that the Ordinary’s Niacinamide was better suited for oily skin, which I know now is very true (but I was still willing to give it a try).

My experience
I began using this product about a month ago. I used it continuously every night after cleansing and toning for about a week. It did not irritate my skin at all, however it also didn’t do anything positive for my skin. A week into using the niacinamide nightly, I started to break out around my mouth. These breakouts left insane dark spots all over my chin and mouth area. I immediately stopped using it.

Recommend 10%
I would definitely not recommend this product to anyone with dry skin. I think this product is strictly made for people with oily skin, and from my personal experience I don’t think the 1% zinc suits dry skin. I will definitely be repurchasing the niacinamide from Paula’s choice!
The Ordinary-Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
So you wanna try The Ord. niacin.+ zinc serum...
Here's what you should know before making the purchase.
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is a fairly viscous, cloudy serum meant to tame blemishes and has been reported to also clear scars and general unevenness in your skin.
However, there's one thing you might NOT have read about amongst the thousands of reviews claiming to either love the product or bash it for being something of a scam.
I'm here to tell you that TO niacinamide serum is a great product for acne prone or uneven skin, but with one caveat.
Because it rejuvenates your skin and rebuilds the cells from the inside out, before you see the results of the serum there will be what is called a "purge" effect the first week or so of using the serum. You see, breakouts and pimples are already within the skin days before they emerge on the surface. They build and build until finally being pushed outward and leaving those nasty zits on your face. And when you start rebuilding the skin, *all* the acne is pushed outward, giving you the impression that it was the serum making you break out. And while this is technically true, in the long run, your skin will thank you.
So if you do decide to buy one of my personal favorite serums (which you totally should), don't freak out when you break out! It's all part of the plan 😎
The Ordinary-Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Hello dolls 😍😍
I’m back and I know it took me a while to actually get a review in from my last post!!! So let’s get started dolls!!
As you know I mention from my last post that I got 2 new products that I am trying out and let’s just say I like them so far and they have been doing a pretty good job with helping with my dark spots and blemishes.
The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG I have been using this product and what I can say everybody use it differently. I have been using it on my dark spots and around my eye area and I must say it has help, the solution is very light weight and melts into my skin pretty well.
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% let’s just say this product really does what it details with this product a little goes a long way just like the The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG it melts into skin very well and is very light on the skin. Also leaves a glow on the skin and give it a bouncy feel as well. I highly recommend this product if you have acne it helps control break outs!
So guys this is a little inside of my review and yes I did get new products and I will give an update about them and FYI I am definitely gonna get the Fenty beauty products and can’t wait to try it!!!
♥️♥️♥️♥️
The Ordinary-Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
Ingredient you need to know pt.1
Let’s start with
Niacinamide:
Skin concerns that this can help : sensitivity, pores, acne, hyperpigmentation and redness
What it works well with:
• retinoids
• N-Acetyl Glucosamine
Key Benefits:
Anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, regulates sebum production, increases elasticity, increases toleration to retinoids, increases ceramide productions, targets hyperpigmentation, improves enlarged pores, boosts collagen production, reduces ache lesion. It helps with a lot more there is too many to name
How it works with different skin concerns:
•Barrier boosting : increases ceramide and free fatty acid levels in the stratum corneum
• Anti-acne: reduces sebum production and acts as a anti inflammatory agent
• Hyperpigmentation: inhibits melanosome transfer from melanocytes to keratinocytes.
Risks: along with any other product it does come with risks. This can cause redness/ flushing when the concentration is above 5%
Overall, including this ingredient into my skincare has helped my fungal acne on my forehead and the texture of my skin has definitely gotten better.
If you have any questions feel free to ask :)

Best booster for resurfacing 🤩!
If you don’t know, Niacinamide can help some of your skincare products work more effectively such as Retinol or Vitamin C. One of my skin concerns is constantly the battle with hyperpigmentation and acne marks and scars. I use retinol in my skincare regime religiously to boost skin resurfacing, and alongside Niacinamide which helps to build the skins natural barrier up - old and new scars and marks are quick to vanish! My skin is also more supple and hydrated using this product as the Niacinamide allows better moisture retention.
If you use some fairly strong “skin stripping” products like me then you will definitely benefit from this product in your routine! The Ordinary The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% does such a good job with the product - not to mention the amazing price point! 🥰
The Ordinary-Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Okay The Ordinary, I see you. 😳
-This is an update to my prior post-
My volcanoes are not volcanoes anymore. 😳
They now downgraded to just red spots. I still feel them like a bump in my face, but they don’t hurt anymore and they don’t look that big anymore.
I feel like if I use it minimum 3 times per week it will help me with my suddenly breakouts. My face is also trying to even out the dark spots with the red spots. I feel like that’s one of the main problems that I have, the black spots or red spots that old acne left me.
The most help that I received is the hydration that the The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 gave me. My dry patches are gone and I didn’t wake up with an excess of oil like I usually do. 😳
I will do an update to this post but after a week using the Ordinary. To see a more deep result.
Thank you for reading ! 🥰
Have a blessed day. 🤪❤️
