Will you sashay or will you stay? 😔🤚🏼
I thought I'd give some thoughts on skin care products I have tried in 2020. I will talk about more products in future posts, but let's start with this. What I loved ❤ NEOGENLAB - Sur.Medic Azulene Soothing Pepthide Ampoule

AliceInWonderlandBe careful about your sunscreen... it was discovered that it’s actually an spf 19, not an spf 50. Look for Purito controversy online

Patience is Key 🔑
Pictured: left side The right side of my face was not as bad but did have similar results. I wanted to post my progress to show that results take time (normally weeks to months)! Whenever I recommend a product to someone, I make sure to tell them to wait at least a few weeks before judging a product because it can take anywhere from 24hrs to a few months to see results from a product/active. Time table with consistent use: Cleansers: generally right away Toners: 1-2 weeks Moisturizers: immediately-weeks Chemical exfoliants: 2-8 weeks Acne products (SA/BPO): 24hrs-12weeks Niacinamide: 8-12 weeks OTC Retinoids: 3-12 weeks Prescription Retinoids: 2-6 weeks Time will vary from person to person. Consistency and patience are key! Products that helped me from May to now: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser @bibalosangeles 2.8% BPO Acne Treatment
Hey whoever is reading this please rate my skincare routine I need to know if it’s okay or not thank you.. 🔆PM🔆 First I start with the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser This cleanser is amazing for my skin it cleanses very well and doesn’t leave my skin feeling stretchy after words. Then I follow up with The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% this product is really great but I feel like it stop working for me for some reason. After that I go in with RADHA BEAUTY - Rosehip Oil I love this oil so much not only does it fix your complexion but it heals your skin of any kind of damage. I have only used it for about a month so far I like it. Next I go with CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin I don’t really have anything to say about this one I’ve used it for almost a year now and had no problems with it. After moisturizing I use sun bum - Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 this is an amazing sunscreen super lightweight, use it everyday. Then to finish it off I apply The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG I’ve used this one for quite a while now and I haven’t really seen much of a difference unfortunately I might stop using this one so please recommend me something for dark circles. Ps: I use this product for dark circles. 🌙 PM🌙 After I shower I don’t cleanse again because technically I’m cleansing with just water in the shower. I go in withThe Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque love this product the way it cleans your pores and leaves your skin feeling smooth is just great. I only use this product on Friday’s. Then I use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution only on mondays once a week. Then I use The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 this product is amazing it feels really nice in the skin. Then I follow up with The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' After that I use CeraVe - Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum I use this for my dark circles but sometimes I’ll use it on my entire face. Then I go back with the CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Please someone tell me how this is I really need to know if this is okay ....

Just wanted to share my journey struggling with acne. Growing up I had perfect clear skin, no acne whatsoever, was comfortable going in public with no makeup on and I had a perfect complexion until I graduated high school and I started breaking out. I used to call it, puberty but backwards lol. I tried everything and nothing worked on me. I even tried changing my diet and stopped eating dairy and meat all in one but still, nothing changed. I even drank more water and that didn’t do anything either. I started watching Dr. Dray on YouTube about a couple years ago and I feel like she’s changed my routine. She says less is more and I swear by that. Remember: what works for me may not work for you. My skin is no where near perfect, but I’m extremely happy with how far I’ve come 🤍 Morning Routine: - (I try to wash my face once a day. Usually wash with only water in the morning) Sometimes I use Panoxyl if I’m breaking out. COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence (On damp skin) The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Neutrogena - Sensitive Skin Oil-Free Moisture CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 Night Time Routine: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence The Ordinary Niacinamide and Zinc CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin When I first started my skincare journey, I mainly started out small using cleanser, moisturizer and SPF then slowly incorporated these serums into my routine. I started using products with no fragrance in them and I feel like that helped my skin out a lot. Also, I highly recommend watching Dr. Dray on YouTube!
January empties !!!
Let’s start with those that I most likely would NOT repurchase: ACURE - Seriously Soothing Cleansing Cream the aspect I liked least was the smell. I just couldn’t get over it! For that reason alone, I would not repurchase. HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray nothing particularly exciting about this toner. I have some other toners I’ve had my eye on so I’m going to move onto something new next! Next let’s talk about what I would repurchase: CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum very gentle retinol serum, great brand, what more can I say? COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence this had me glowing at first! But I feel that the improvements I initially saw faded after awhile and I haven’t noticed the same results since. I do like using this as another layer of moisture in the cooler months. Finally, let’s talk about what I’ve already repurchased: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% this serum is fantastic! I get some larger hormonal breakouts along my jaw line and I feel like since I’ve started using this product, it does a great job keeping those pesky pimples as minimal as possible. I’m not sure how it compares to other brands’ Niacinamide products but I sure do The Ordinary’s version! Have you tried these products? What do you think?
MY 2X WEEK NIGHT ROUTINE (MONDAYS & FRIDAYS)
1. BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water *I use it every night for double cleansing 2. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser 3. I'm from - Rice Toner 4. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator It’s gently for my extremely dry skin, it absorbs quickly, it texture it’s like water, and doesn’t have a smell or color. **I only use it on my nose & chin and if I have a pimple on it too** 5. íUNIK - Black Snail Restore Serum Love this serum, it’s hydrating, if you keep it on a cold place when you use it it feels soo good on your skin. 6. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 for Dry Skin Irritations Since I’m using a BHA I use it to keep a better hydration, and moisturizing skin. And if I have any irritation in other parts of my face I use it there too
🐌 Why did I ever stop using this!!
I remember the best skin of my life was when my mom got me a skincare set from her layover in Korea and I was so impressed! Skeptical are first but the results were amazing! íUNIK - Black Snail Restore Serum has got to be one of the best formulations! Melts into skin, very affordable, and makes your skin soooo soft and radiant! 🐌🐌🐌 - Naturally has properties like glycoproteins, hyarulonic acid, and glycolic acid. Also contains zinc which is an anti inflammatory! - Helps Collagen production - Diminishes fine lines - Moisturises - Brightens -Soothes irritation
I have completed my first month of accutane! Now that I’ve finished the first month, my dosage is going up so I’m anticipating more dryness. 😩🏜 PROS: WILL I EVER WASH MY HAIR AGAIN!? It’s never greasy anymore and has so much body! THIS PART IS BOMB. Cons: oh my aching EYES. You know when it’s allergy season and your eyes ache and burn? Well picture that but like you’ve slept with your eyes pried WIDE OPEN ALL NIGHT with sand and sun blowing into them. Also, skin around nose is dry AF. Love looking like I have bats in the cave at all times. Also my hands peel?! I’ve never had ashy dry hands til now. Products that have been helpful when dealing with the shedding uglies and dry skin misery: CeraVe - Healing Ointment Feels greasy but offers sweet relief from painful skin cracking. Dr.Dan's - CORTIBALM LIP BALM HOLY GRAIL LIP BALM. Bio-Oil - Dry Skin Gel Feels greasy, but makes body skin feel nice after showering and before bed. Kiehl's - Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer Sinks into skin nicely, doesn’t clog my pores, keeps skin feeling good all day. Murad - Anti-Aging Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++ I loved this before accutane and still love it. It’s a nice sunscreen because there’s no white cast and the shiny goes away quickly. GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum Nice applicator and bottle, sinks in quick and not sticky! AND ITS CHEAP. Winner!! Tried one bottle and ordered three more because it offers such a nice hydration boost. ACCUTANE USERS: I CANNOT RECOMMEND THE DR DANS LIP BALM ENOUGH. IT IS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING for painful lip cracks, shedding, and tightness in the lips. 1000000% worth finding.
Rosacea/Sensitive skin routine!
This is my new routine for the fall. I recently found out I have rosacea and hormonal acne so I have been experimenting with what products would best suit my skin. For reference: the hormonal birth control pill is what has cleared up my skin dramatically, and I cannot attribute my routine to clearing it up. But my routine is keeping my skin’s moisture barrier soft, healthy and glowing. I will add a brief overview of my routine and why it’s working so well for me! HERBIVORE - Pink Cloud Rosewater + Tremella Creamy Jelly Cleanser This cleanser is everything.... it’s low foaming, soft and gentle and effectively melts off any and all makeup and sunscreen. It’s non stripping, the only smell to it is very natural and not strong at all, and it’s also very hydrating. Tremella mushroom provides more hydration than regular Hyaluronic acid, and plant based squalane emulsifies all of the makeup and dirt on the skin to gently yet effectively whisk it away. When you rinse, your skin feels so comfortable and never tight/dry. My tried and true CeraVe hydrating cleanser started burning my skin so this cleanser has been a game changer for me! evian - Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray I made a post about this mist. I find that the water in NYC can be a little hard so using this resets my skin’s pH balance and makes for a very soothing product in my routine. I follow with moisturizer after using this lovely fine mist. Kiehl's - Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer This is such a lovely, simple cream. It has squalane, glycerin, apricot, avocado, olive and rice bran oils, and glacial glycoprotein. This moisturizer is thick enough to help the skin retain moisture and stay soft and supple without being heavy. I love this and I think it’s perfect for the fall to keep combination/normal/oily skin in check! DRUNK ELEPHANT - F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask Such a lovely product from drunk elephant! This is a multi use moisturizer/mask. It’s a leave on treatment chock full of hydrating and nourishing ingredients like electrolytes, vitamin F beads (they melt when you massage it in), a large dose of Niacinamide and squalane. This product is so lightweight yet moisturizing and really locks in hydration. I use this on top of my moisturizer night and day for glowy and happy skin! SUNDAY RILEY - Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream One of the only eye creams I actually like! There is a slightly botanical smell to it, but it doesn’t linger. This cream is very moisturizing, illuminating and instantly brightening/depuffing. When I use it I don’t have to use much concealer for my dark undereyes! GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask A very gentle retinol eye cream. No peeling/irritation. I find this helps to smooth texture and helps milia too! Not very clinical but still a nice product.

Minis that I loved 💘
Happy Mini Monday 👌🏾 These are some products that I actually loved and bought bigger sizes of: SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Bum Bum Cream . Smells heavenly and leaves my skin so soft. This is costly, but its so worth it. HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Mask . I’ve never finished a mini so fast. My skin felt so soft and clear after every use. I used this the recommended every other day and now that I have my new one I can use it every week. Nature Lab. - Shine Clarifying Scalp Scrub Yes any texture can use a scalp scrub and I loved this one. I used it as a patch test on the middle (where my hair is most congested) and i can’t wait for my bigger size for my next wash day! @cosrx : snail mucinCOSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence . I still have the bigger size of this baby but Ulta sent me a sample size which I still love. NEOGENLAB - Real Rerment Micro Essence This baby one plenty of awards last year and I can see why. I actually use this one in the morning and the snail mucin essence at night. It’s way lighter and since I don’t use harsh ingredients I don’t need the buffer effect that I need at night. Have you tried any of these minis?
Gentle Am routine ✨
Alright, so this is my routine in the morning. Didn’t change it for winter weather yet and I don’t know if I will honestly. My morning routine contains a few actives but mostly trying to take care of my dehydrated combination skin. I only rinse my face with lukewarm water in the morning except if I “slugged” the night before. I will use sioris - Cleanse Me Softly Milk Cleanser as this is my current pm second cleanser. 🥛 Like my pm routine, I use both a first essence and a toner. My favorite steps even if they’re not 🌈 essentials 🌈 . In the am I use NEOGENLAB - Real Rerment Micro Essence (thx james welsh) and I have to say I love it. My skin drinks it right up and automatically calms any tightness I might feel on my skin. I then follow with I'm from - Rice Toner (again, james). I love that it contains niacinamide as I don’t like using it in high amounts (like in a serum) it’s also quite moisturizing for my combination skin. Really makes your skin glow. 🍚 I will then alternate the use of the The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% and PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster as my actives. On days I use the Vit C, I will use right after the toner and will follow with The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG . The caffeine solution was really working the first months but now my under eye doesnt seem to react as much to it... will probably not buy it again but the bottle last ages so I will finish it. ☕️ For the ascorbyl solution, it’s a really nice and gentle option. Will switch to straight L ascorbic acid serum when the ascorbyl is done though :) 🍋 If I use the azelaic acid, I will skip the vit C and apply the caffeine solution straight after toner. I will then put on the VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream which is a super nice soothing gel moisturizer with really impressive ingredient list for a drugstore product. I will THEN apply the azelaic acid over it to prevent any irritation. 🌿 I will end the routine with the famous PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ . Do I really need to explain how awesome this product is ? 🌞**will discontinue use after I’m done with it. Any recommendations for a cruelty free spf available in Canada?*** If you have any recommendations to make it more “cold weather friendly” your suggestions are appreciated ❄️

Is the Biossance Eye Duo Worth It?
I really struggle with my under eyes. The shape of my eyes makes them slightly wrinkled and I also have dark circles and they can get pretty puffy if I cry or don’t get enough sleep. They are also EXTREMELY sensitive. Concealer can make them sting and flake, and anything that touches them (facial moisturizer, serum, eye cream, etc.) can make them burn. Because of this it is hard to find an eye cream that doesn’t cause issues and I can’t always skip this step in my routine because I do wear concealer under my eyes and if I don’t take care of them they start to flake and it just looks awful. I found this Biossance trial size eye duo and had to test it out! I do typically think of eye cream as an expensive, glorified moisturizer unless it has active ingredients, but with my sensitivities I am willing to try them out to see if they help my issues. BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream Of the two, this one is my favorite. Yes, it is essentially just a moisturizer, but I think that is what under eye skin has been needing because my facial moisturizer wasn’t cutting it. This one doesn’t cause any irritation and, once it sinks in, is good under concealer. BIOSSANCE - BIOSSANCE Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel This eye gel works well for puffiness, but I took one star off because on my sensitive days it can sting my skin a little and it also isn’t quite as hydrating as the other Biossance eye cream. It is a gel, so if hydration isn’t your main concern this would probably be great for you! I really do love both of these eye creams and highly recommend getting the trial duo if possible, but the full size products are so expensive that I just can’t justify repurchasing them for myself. If these are in your budget and your only real concerns are dryness and puffiness, then please get this! But if you are looking for a product that will make a long term difference in preventing/treating wrinkles, darkness, etc. you should try an eye cream that contains retinol. These are my suggestions for retinol eye creams listed from least to most expensive: 1️⃣ THE inkey LIST - Retinol Eye Cream 2️⃣ GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask 3️⃣ FIRST AID BEAUTY - FAB Skin Lab Retinol Eye Cream with Triple Hyaluronic Acid If you have tried these products or have any recommendations please let me know in the comments!
My January 2021 empties
Looks like I emptied many of the cleansing products. Star of the month goes to: Bronze - BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream likely to repurchase when finished other eye cream inventories. This is somewhat rich eye cream and glide on easily. Silver - FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm got silver just because it has attracted everyone’s attention. I still have one big jar to go then will try something else after. Gold - DHC - DHC Lip Cream this is something I can’t live without and will never trade for anything else. Will definitely keep repurchasing!

Is this $125 Detox Night Cream Worth It?
Hey Cherie Fam 🍒 I have been doing makeup looks and raving about my recent make up purchases lately. I thought it’s time to give the skin care products I’ve been loving lately some attention. You know that you can’t have great makeup unless you have great a great makeup base aka having a great skin care routine. I received Grown Alchemist Detox Night Cream on my November premium box from Boxycharm. I have a somewhat strict skin care routine and I am skeptical introducing a new product to my routine. I researched this brand thoroughly and read hundreds of reviews online. I also examined the ingredient list. Grown Alchemist is founded by brothers who discovered ground breaking research that proved the continuous use of natural ingredients. They developed formulas with a unique synergy between biology and cosmetic chemistry. Their headquarters are located in Melbourne, Australia. (Source: website) The detox night cream is described as a detoxifying cream formulated with peptide-3, echinacea vitamins, hyaluronic acid and essential omega fatty acids such as reishi extract. This product claims to regenerate the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines + wrinkles resulting in radiant and youthful looking skin. This product retails for $125 USD for 40ml. #Grown Alchemist - Detox Night Cream[products]# I actually really like this product. I use it with my DE framboos and The Ordinary virgin marula oil at night. I noticed my skin is a lot more glowy and I have less pores and brighter skin when I wake up in the morning. It has a thick consistency, but doesn’t feel heavy and has a scent similar to roses. I am actually not a fan of the smell because I prefer no fragrance. I think this is the perfect night cream especially during the winter months. However, I will not be repurchasing when I run out. While I am a fan of this product and think it works well, I don’t think it’s worth $125 for a 40ml. There are cheaper alternatives in the market with the same ingredients. If money isn’t an issue to you, then I say go for it! I saw a huge difference within a week. It’s just not in my budget unfortunately. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum The Ordinary - 100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil Conclusion: Great product and I saw a difference within a week, but it’s too pricy and will not re-purchase because there are alternative brands in the market with the same ingredients for a fraction of the price. Xoxo, Francesca 💋
cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. this product is 96% snail mucin 🐌. Snail mucin, it's the slimey little trail the snail leaves behind, and comes from your ordinary garden snail. No snails are harmed when it comes to collecting snail mucin, quite the opposite actually. In order for a snail to be able to produce optimum mucin, it must be well rested and feel comfortable and relaxed in its environment. How cosrx collect their mucin is, they'll be placed on a mesh net in a dark room (they're nocturnal) and are left alone to freely roam the mesh for 30 minutes, then are placed back in their home, the mesh is collected and hey presto! You've got yourself a mesh covered in mucin. The two weeks that I've been using this product, here are my visible results: -Plump and hydrated skin -Existing cystic pimples have dramatically reduced in size - Acne scars seem much less visible -No new breakouts 🎉 The product is thick and slimey in its consistency, clear in appearance and has no noticeable smell. It applies and absorbs effectively and layers well. I use this straight after toning and have no problem layering other serums and moisturisers on top, they all absorb beautifully and no stickiness is left behind. Snail mucin contains ingredients like glycoproteins, hyaluronic acid, and glycolic acid. Benefits of using mucin: -Seals in moisture and helps skin heal -Rich in hyaluronic acid and antioxidants -Plumps the skin and smoothes out fine lines and wrinkles -Stimulates collagen production -Fades acne scars and dark spots -Improves skin's texture 🐌 For me, this has been my hero product and has seriously helped improve my problematic skin.
COSRX-Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence
Azelaic Acid: You Need This In Your Routine
Azelaic acid is amazing. It occurs naturally on the skin and is produced by grains in labs, holding anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties rather unique to such a gentle, multifaceted antioxidant. It helps with skin texture, redness, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, and even minimizes the look of active breakouts. All of the pictured products are free of fragrance, alcohol, and essential oils. facetheory - PoreBright Serum N10 ($19 per 30mL) features star ingredients like 10% azelaic acid, 10% niacinamide, salicylic acid (<2%), aloe, and sodium hyaluronate to calm skin while addressing issues like congested pores, uneven tone, acne, oily skin... it’s a versatile serum that I enjoyed. The serum is light and moisturizing, with good spreadability. This is the gentlest of the three in my experience. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster ($36 per 30 mL) is a game-changer. I enjoyed FaceTheory N10, but something about PC’s formulation transformed my acne experience. 10% Azelaic acid, salicylic acid (<2%), licorice root extract, allantoin, and a variety of humectants + emollients come together in this light gel-cream to give significant texture-smoothing, tone-correcting, acne-preventing results. Whenever I apply this in the AM (which it is gentle enough to do), my blemishes are reduced remarkably by the evening. I also have seen such significant fading of my acne scars that I already got a back-up! Its cream formula allows for use as a spot treatment if you prefer that. This is my favourite of the three pictured. The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% ($7.90 per 30mL) is a simple formula, with 10% Azelaic acid and vitamin e as the star ingredients in a variety of silicones and emollients. I noticed significant hyperpigmentation reduction with this cream, but I cannot stand the silicone texture. It has a strange grit to it, no matter how much I shake up the bottle. I also think my skin dislikes heavy silicones, as I experienced increased breakouts when using this, despite the wonderful brightening and calming properties it has. Not sure I’d recommend this unless your skin handles silicone well. The matte finish would probably be enjoyed by oily skin types.
PAULA'S CHOICE-10% Azelaic Acid Booster
Azelaic Acid Is The Most Under Appreciated Acid
Azelaic acid isn’t talked about nearly enough. It’s not an AHA, nor a BHA, but it’s still a gentle exfoliant and so many other things. Let’s talk about why this acid helped my sensitive, combo skin have less acne and fade the dark spots dramatically. • Exfoliant: Acids, at a high enough concentration, dissolve the glue that holds dead skin cells together, allowing them be sloughed off while you cleanse or against your pillow as you sleep. Using them throughout the week helps to keep skin tone bright and smooth, plus can help with fading discoloration such as PIH, hyperpigmentation, and dark spots. Azelaic acid isn’t an AHA like glycolic and lactic acid, nor is it a BHA like salicylic acid. It’s a dicarboxylic acid and is a... • Melanin Inhibitor: Azelaic acid’s biggest feature as a hyperpigmentation fading ingredient is it’s ability to suppress melanin synthesis! This will help not only help lighten current dark spots, but also should help in preventing them from forming. It’s been the best ingredient for my hyperpigmentation, hands down: I saw distinct fading of dark spots within 2 weeks. There’s a reason I’ve been using it for 3 months now! • Antioxidant: Yeah, azelaic acid is amazing. It not only lightens hyperpigmentation and smooths texture, but also reduces skin damage preventatively by fighting off free radicals that would break down collagen. It also soothes skin wonderfully thanks to the anti-inflammatory aspect of its antioxidant status, making it a very gentle exfoliant. • Antimicrobial: Last but not least, azelaic acid is antimicrobial. That means it stops the growth of microorganisms- and it’s actually already produced by healthy yeast on our skin, so it’s not killing the good bacteria, just the variety that cause acne and such. This makes it legitimately amazing for people struggling with acne- whenever I apply this to a breakout in the morning, the blemishes are much less red and a bit smaller by evening. Azelaic acid been a miracle find for me and I now understand why it’s often prescribed by dermatologists. I personally prefer PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster , but due to its small (but still possibly irritating to those with rosacea) salicylic acid content I also like to mention The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% , whose only negative feature is the siliconey texture.

Review: Glossier’s Super Pure 💙
Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum - a watery serum formulated with niacinamide (B3) and zinc. Glossier describes it as the product you need “to help blemish-prone skin chill out.” Honestly, I’d just describe it as the product you need to help skin chill out. Niacinamide is great for so many reasons. It calms skin, reduces redness, decreases blemishes and congestion, and with long-term use can help with hyperpigmentation and fine lines. Zinc also works to fight blemishes, control sebum production, heal damaged skin, and support collagen production. 💙 RESULTS: Used together, these ingredients work to prevent future breakouts, fight current flare-ups, and keep pored decongested. The result? Calmer, happier skin! If I have a breakout even in a small area of my face, super pure is the first thing I reach for. I also love using it if my skin is irritated from over-exfoliation, diet, or just having a bag day! I also use it several times a week even when nothing’s wrong to help keep redness at bay and prevent future flare-ups. 💙 SUPER PURE IN YOUR ROUTINE: Super pure has a watery texture, no smell, and sinks in very quickly. It plays well with some of my favorite ingredients so can easily be layered with other treatments, but it can cause sensitivity and generally decrease effectiveness if used to close together with acids and vitamin c. If you want to use both, leave 10-20 minutes between treatments or use one in the morning and one at night! 💙 OVERALL: I love this product. As you can see, I’m almost through the bottle and will probably be repurchasing! I highly recommend this if you’re looking to add a soothing serum to your weekly routine
Glossier.-Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum
Niacinamide: My Favourite Ingredient
Niacinamide is one of my all-time favourite ingredients and it’s really not talked about enough. Niacinamide is proving to be a power player in skincare, managing to soothe inflammation, reduce redness, control oil production, minimize the appearance of enlarged pores, even skin tone, improve texture, improve the appearance of fine lines, and improve skin radiance. It’s truly such a multi-faceted ingredient and I recommend it in all routines! Here are my experiences with some popular niacinamide serums: • The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% was my first niacinamide serum. It played a huge role in transforming my skin from oily to normal/combo. It also helped tons with my acne... until it didn’t. The zinc in this formulation is hit-or-miss, being a hit for most! But I found myself in the small population of the miss category, my skin reacting poorly to prolonged use. I still recommend folks wanting to try niacinamide on a budget give it a try at $5.90USD for 30mL and $10.60 for 60mL. •THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum came next, its $6.99/30mL price tag making it a good zinc-free budget alternative. This product utilizes niacinamide in a base of glycerin, squalane, and hyaluronic acid, focusing on light hydration alongside the touted oil control. The lip does get a bit clogged with crystallized product, but the applicator is convenient for travel. I enjoyed this serum, but the ingredient list is a bit basic. • PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster , at $44.00 per 20mL... I was hesitant to purchase this serum. But I’ve got two back-ups of this serum on the way, if that says anything about how “worth it” it is. It helped reduce the appearance of the sebaceous filaments on my chin, forehead, and the bridge of my nose, plus I experience less irritation from altering my skin routine than I normally would... and I find my skin just feels bouncy after I apply this serum- perhaps an effect of the absolutely stacked INCI list! Whereas the other formulas are bare bones, PC packs in CoQ10, vitamin c, and allantoin, boosting its anti-aging and soothing properties. If you can afford it, I’d give it a try! Its pore-minimizing results alone will keep me repurchasing.
PAULA'S CHOICE-10% Niacinamide Booster
TOP 3 FOR ACNE PRONE SKIN
1. BLUME - Meltdown Oil for Acne-Prone Skin wow. Wow. Wow. She’s great. I use this product as a spot treatment directly on active spots. Also on budding cystic acne she breaks it down pretty quickly (1-3days it’s GONE). I’ve seen others mix in with moisturizer - my skin needs to soak this product in separately in order to actually gain the benefits of a moisturizer afterwards. I use this twice ++++ daily and I have NOT burned/over dried. Highly suggest if you have acne prone skin/combo/mild cystic acne like myself. The scent/colour is purely a result of the natural oils inside* 2. The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% THE BEST VIT C serum I have tried. I mix this in with a moisturizer in the morning/evening and damn what a glow getter. I’m on my second lil bottle and will continue to repurchase as not only the price point (which is a bargain at $10) but the very real benefits are astounding. Again, doesn’t dry me out. Helps immensely with uneven skin tone, REDNESS, dark spots/lifting acne scars. You will see results over time, remember exfoliating serums/products take weeks!! Just a few drops will do!! 3. The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalane This was my first time introducing a retinol to my regime (hence the very low %, if you’re beginning I suggest this). A game changer. As I’ve reached a point with my acne where I feel it’s relatively under control (knock on wood) I felt I could begin a retinol and not fear the wrath of burnt broken skin. I have deep set wrinkles on my forehead/crows feet (thank u astigmatism) and use this product 1-2 times a week exclusively at NIGHT depending on how my acne is doing. My face does have a slight warmth to it directly after use but I promise it is not a slow burning of your skin. It is simply the retinol doing its job and driving blood to the surface for collagen production/cell turnover. This is another product where results take weeks to become visible but like anything skincare related, it takes its sweet time. These are my HOLY GRAIL products. My skin simply cannot survive without them. I hope some of the info was helpful/informative!!!
