Solid vs. Liquid - Eyeshadow Edition
moonstarsandeve
Hello lovies! Today I’m bringing you Battle of the eyeshadow: liquid vs. solid! We all love our eyeshadows but have you ever stopped to think “hey which type of consistency do I really like 😳?” Well look no further because I’m bringing you some insight into my opinion on the matter! For some background information I have a light to medium skin tone with a pink undertone and I have oily eye lids. The fact that my lids are oily makes it tricky to find good eyeshadows!
Let’s begin with Kosas - 10-Second Eyeshadow

Easy 10 MIN makeup look. Out the door!
I’m all about finding easy natural looking makeup looks. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good glam session, but most times I am pressed for time and need to get out the door.
These are some of my go-to products for times like that! Minimal but still a really pretty makeup look!
I have combo skin, and right now my tone is light-medium!
For a quick look I’m all about time efficiency!
I use Perricone MD - No Makeup Foundation Serum Broad Spectrum SPF 20 for a quick sheen finish and evening out my skin (I have some hyperpigmentation spots). This stuff is really great. It’s really lightweight and it genuinely looks like you aren’t wearing any makeup! I would almost compare it to Ilia Beauty’s skin tint but this one is not oily at all. I prefer the perricone one more!
I like to use the Kosas - 10-Second Eyeshadow for a quick one sweep over the eye. It is truly a liquid formula but it dries down to a matte. There is minimal creasing, but there still is some.
#Laura Mercier - Blush[products]#[FiveStars] in the shade fresco is the perfect nude blush for me. It has a sheen shimmery finish but it doesn’t look gawdy or overdone. It is perfect to shape out your face and I can even put this one my eyes for a pretty nude eye look also.
Glossier. - Brow Flick is what I use on my brows because it gives the perfect “brow strokes.” It’s so easy to use but you have to have a very light hand to make sure it is not over done!
I’ve been using false lashes because they’re easy to use and makes the look complete! ARDELL - Wispies Lash they’re cheap and can be done in under a minute!
Hope you liked this look!

PERFECT FOR A MONOCHROMATIC MOMENT 🌟💕
This KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - Lolita Eyeshadow is technically marketed as an eyeshadow. But I think you can also use it as a blush and it works really beautifully for that.
So originally when I got this and a subscription box and it was marketed as an eyeshadow I don’t really use singular eyeshadows but I thought it would make a beautiful blush shade. It is a deeper blush and I am a fair skin tone but I found that if I go in with the light hand this blush is very beautiful and gives you that just in from the cold winter flush.
I’ve also tried this as an eyeshadow and it works well for that too but my favorite way to Perry’s to together is to do a monochromatic look with the eyeshadow and using it as a blush.
The formula is OK I definitely don’t think you need to spend the 20 something dollars on the singular shadow even for the use of it being an eyeshadow and blush. I think you can find better for less expensive but I am happy to have this and I am enjoying using it.

Eyeshadows with a different texture—creamy or liquid?
Speaking of eyeshadows, powder is the most popular formula because these eyeshadows are usually easy to blend, and packed in a palette, really easy to carry. But in recent years, there are many different kinds of formulas released. I am a glitter person, so I really love the Super Shock shadows and Stila Glitter & Glow liquid eye shadows. Today I picked two with pink and purple undertone and blue glitters inside to show the differences between them.
Let’s start with the cheaper one. The super shock shadow is a special formula from Colourpop, and there are several textures, such as matte, glitter and metallic. They are creamy powder with a unique bouncy-like texture. This color is called Party of Five, which is the 5th-anniversary limited shadow, but it is so popular that the brand kept it. It’s a warm burgundy shade with blue glitters inside. The pigmentation is great, and I think the best tool for this formula is your finger because it’s so creamy, and brushes can’t grab the color. And the undertone of this shadow is not too light, so I usually use it all over my eyelids and deepen my outer corners with a darker matte shade, and the blue glitters really pop out. The only weakness is that the longer you wear it, there are less glitters. Since it’s only $6 and can’t be used up in several years, I am still a big fan of this collection.
For the liquid eyeshadows, I think Stila is one of the first several brands to release this kind of product. The first products basically only have big glitters inside, and then they launched several duo-chrome colors, and Sea Siren is one of them. This is a bright lavender shade with bright blue pearl glitters. It is lightweight and dries quickly with no fallout. The applicator is also soft and easy to use, and I always use my finger to blend the edges after applying on my lids. For me, this color is too light to wear along, so I always use it on the center of my eyes and as a highlighter on the tip of my nose.
Comparing these two, the Colourpop one is more affordable and can be used alone, and the Stila one is shinier and lasting longer. I can’t give up either of them, and I think you can make decisions based on your budget.

Don’t be jelly {Colourpop jelly much shadows}
I have two of the Colourpop jelly much shadows in the shades “big ego” (pale lavender with tiny teal shimmers) and “doves n’ roses” (coral with rose gold + gold shimmers). They’re absolutely stunning. They are pigmented, easy to blend, and last all day long. My beef with them is that they dry out very quickly! I bought these last summer and both were nearly dried out about 2 months ago. I lost a good chunk (literally, because so dry) of “doves n’ roses” when I opened it in January. These are $8 a piece and I expected them to last a lot longer. I did manage to “revive” them for the most part with saline solution, but they don’t feel the same as they once did. They used to have a really squishy, jelly texture. They’re still somewhat squishy, but I can tell they’re still dry and crumbly. I will not purchase any other shades.
Price and availability:
Available on Colourpop’s website for $8 each. “Big ego” is out of stock, but “doves n’ roses” is available at the time I’m writing this.

U Wanna Peach of Me?
I looooooove peachy tones for eyeshadows. They’re so flattering on my brown eyes. I already love the Colourpop COLOURPOP - Colourpop Super Shock Shadow formula, so I picked up this U Wanna Peach of Me curated trio from the peach collection that was released a few months ago. This trio contains the shades “golden hour” (gold), “6AM” (coral w/gold glitter), and “in axis” (coppery pink w/ pink and gold glitter). These are from the ultra metallic line, although I feel “golden hour” is more of a glittery topper shade vs the other two, which are smooth metallics. I love this set! Perfect for quick one or two shadow looks. They last all day long. I have to be careful applying “golden hour” because some of the glitter may fall down onto my face. I apply these with my finger for maximum payoff. If you’ve never tried the super shock formula, I highly recommend!

$15 for trio available on the Colourpop website

Kosas 10-second eyeshadows
How cute are these liquid eyeshadows from Kosas?! I have the shades “waterfall” and “globe”. Globe is my favorite but waterfall is surprisingly wearable. Super easy to layer and blend out. They dry quickly, but not too quickly that you can’t play with them a bit. NO CREASING which is a win for those of us with hooded eyes (raises hand). Lasts all day long and perfect for on the go.
