Favorite/Go-To Nail Polish! 💅🏽

When I get my nails done, I can take forever to decide what color I want to get. However, when in doubt, I always end up going back to my neutrals because they never disappoint. 👏🏽
One of my very favorite colors is the OPI - OPI Nail Lacquer

Easy Halloween/Fall Nails 💅🏻
I love this color combination for fall or Halloween.
The burnt Orange glitter color is by China Glaze and called Payback’s A Witch.
The Black color is by OPI and is called Black Onyx.
It took 2 coats of each polish to achieve full coverage. Since neither polish is gel, I used a Gel Top coat by Sally Hansen to achieve the longest lasting look possible.
I got both of these at CVS for $9.99 each

When did OPI become so lame????
When I was growing up and would go near a place that gave many and peddles, they used OPI products. I tended to avoid it because it is more expensive. But I really wanted some olive green nail polish because I wear that color a lot and decided to buy this.
First, this color is not blue; it appears in the photo. Its a dark, iridescent teal green. Still pretty, but not at all the light blue as depicted. But its a pretty color. The purple one is nice, too.
However!! 2 coats flaked off after less than a day!! I don't know if it's because it was baking in a warehouse for too long or the actual polish isn't made well. I have never been so disappointed in nail polish before. After three coats of barely-there coverage, it finally started to look like my nails were painted. I put on a topcoat, as I always do, and one day later, the polish had already started chipping. I applied a few more coats, and again, one day later, chipping and wear on the tips. And the polish was not of quality whatsoever. I thought OPI was a high-quality nail polish. This was not. I purchased the third color with the same problem—the polish streaks. There was no smooth application period. What I did get on my nails looked terrible. It was blotchy & I removed it. I was disappointed in light of what I paid. I don't recommend OPI & will not purchase their brand again. I think I'll stick with my much cheaper and more reliable Sally Hansen Miracle Gel or Insta Dry from now on. Just goes to show you that price does not always mean better quality. I will not buy any product from OPI anymore.

Paint you own nails at home! 💅🏽
Painting your nails solo can be tricky, but here is how do them without any help. 🤩
🔥 using the OPI - OPI Nail Lacquer in “This Cost Me A Mint”
✨ Start with clean & manicured nails: clipped, filed, buffed. Next, using your dominant hand, start with your first or base coat of polish; Start at the cuticle and slowly stroke your way up to the top of the nail bed. Do this until the entire nail is covered. Wait a couple minutes to let the first coat dry and continue until the polish is opaque. You don’t want to use more than 3 coats of polish; the more you use, the longer it will take for your nails to dry. Finish with a fast drying top coat - my current fave is OPI - Rapidry Top Coat and voila! Freshly painted nails 🥳
I usually wait 2-3mins between each coat to let it dry. When I’m all done with the paint job, I’ll take a cuticle stick/pusher with a little cotton soaked in acetone to clean up around the edges. Try to do this throughout the process so that you have less to clean up at the end.
🌟 Favorite brands of polishes to use:

🦋🦋🦋I got butterflies on my nails😍
Butterfly nails are a particularly popular style this summer. Many bloggers have been posting pictures of their manicures on Instagram, so I went to the nail salon with the blogger's picture and wanted to do the same.
Step 1, clean your hands and trim your nails into a square shape (if you're doing something cute like a fruit manicure, consider a round one).
Step 2 apply nail softener and repair dead skin
Step 3 apply OPI - Nail Envy Nail Strengthener Original Formula
Step 4: Apply cuticle cream and champagne color nail polish twice (usually 2 times for darker colors and 3 times for lighter colors) to illuminate and fix the nail color.
Step 5: Stick two butterflies on your ring finger and thumb. Fix them with glue.
Why I recommend this manicure: In summer, girls' clothes and colors are mainly white, pink and other fresh colors, which are suitable for butterfly nails.
The one I made was about $40, and because of the complexity, remember to choose a professional nail salon.
I hope all the girls can wear beautiful skirts, have beautiful nails this summer.

Fruit Nail Art 🍊🍑🍋
My favorite diy mani of the summer! I wanted to try fruits all summer long but was super intimidated to try them on myself, but thought to myself “what’s the worse that can happen?” And here we are! A cute hand of oranges, a peach and a pair of cherries on my thumb!
I played around with different styles, using reference photos from Pinterest and Instagram. My biggest tip is to use a small amount of product and layer! I used two different shades of orange, a peach color, brown and green for all the leaves.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
1. Start with the basic shape, this will probably be a circle or half circle!
2. Add different tones of the same shade all around so that it has some dimensions.
3. Add in tour highlights with white! This can either be for the pulp of the fruit, to highlight the roundness of the fruit or to add even more dimension. I used all three techniques to achieve different styles of fruit!
4. Add any shadows with the brown. For me this was the top of my peach!
5. Add your leaf and tour done.
I used shades from The Gel Bottle and OPI - OPI Gel Nail Polish , any gel polish will work!

Don’t ignore nail care — you need this base coat👍
Your face needs skin care products so do your nails need proof and care. Frequent nail manicure will cause damage to nails and make them more easily broken. In order to prolong your nail manicure and keep healthy for your nails, you need base coat. Just like building a house, you need good foundation for building, and a base coat is the basis for healthy nails and lasting, good-looking nail arts.
To be more specific, let me tell you why you need base coat for nails. Base coat is just like primer for makeup. It has two effects. One is to proof nails from chemical damage and make them look better. The other one is making nail manicure last longer. Girls who have nail manicure and want their nails stay strong to need a base coat. Every time before you’re doing a nail manicure, whether you do a nail manicure at home by yourself or do it on a salon, you should apply base coat on your nails first. With a base coat, your nails will stay shiny and healthy.
essie - First Base Base Coat
My favorite base coat is this Essie first base, base coat, adhesion + protection. This brand is a professional nail polish brand. This base coat costs $8.2 on Amazon. The bottle is about half a size of a standard bottle of polish. It is usable up to one year upon purchase.
If you are looking for a natural glow on your nails and want a quick drying process for manicure, you should try this Essie base coat. Also, it provides smooth surface for color application and helps protect color wear. Applied with this base coat, I can do everything every work with my manicure, because it resists chipping. It helped my nail polish survive longer than without it. This base coat dries very fast, too, so you can apply a thick coat if you prefer. I highly recommend this base coat!
Have you tried this base coat before? What do you think of it?

Essie - Honest Nail Polish Review 🦋
Hello lovies! I am back with another nail polish review because I want to share with y’all my honest feedback on this essie - Enamel Nail Polish !
Let’s begin with the fact that the first time I came across this specific shade was YEARS ago! I have a spot in my town with a massive Essie collection and this color spoke to me. I ended up moving two years ago and misplaced tons of my nail polish collection 😕. Then, last year I had my grad school graduation where my department color was teal! So I bought Bikini So Teeny (review done as well) and it was fantastic, which then lead me to buy another Essie color... Mint Candy Apple!
It’s been a year since I’ve had this baby in my collection and it’s still going strong! This Essie product retails for $8.99. Its a light pea minty green shade that would look fantastic on all skin tones 👏🏼! The texture of the color is light but very easy to build up to get a full coverage nail. I usually do 2-3 coats of nail polish before applying a top coat. I’ve never had a problem with an Essie brand nail polish brush and that makes for a nice smooth application 💅🏼.
The amazing thing about Essie is that they have such a vast collection of various shades. You’ll find the shade you want - I can guarantee that for sure!
I think it’s super easy to apply because the nail polish consistency isn’t too watery and it gives you the perfect consistency from bottle to nail. I’ve come across nail polished that are so watery they fall off the brush before I make it to my nail. It’s definitely not a sheer color and the color pay off is 100% amazing. It also has a shiny glossy finish to it where you could leave it just like that or use a top coat for extra shine. The brush is perfect in that additionally it does not leave streaks on the nail.
When I apply a top coat on all 10 fingers,
I go back and apply a second coat. I wait 10 mins and apply a third coat for extra coverage! And then 15 mins after that I apply a clear shiny top coat! I’m usually not in a hurry so I take my time to let them dry and haven’t done those neat ice cold water tricks! When I do my nails I watch an hour long show on my iPad and by the time the show is done so are my nails 👏🏼.
Essie claims that this is a chip resistant formula and for the most part like 90% I agree with that statement. I usually find one or two nails with chips on them but it’s also the fingers I use for opening mail, picking off stickers, etc so I don’t blame the nail polish - it’s me hahaha!
When I apply the nail polish I say it can last from 7-10 days before I see it looking off and no longer perfect! Since I am home now all the time I find myself constantly changing my nail color after 10 days and this shade is among my top three nail polish colors!
This is a top notch nail polish color and I 100% recommend it to all of my friends and family! 👍🏼

Nail accent
I love doing a simple look with an accent. Adding a glitter top coat to one nail does just that for me 😍😍essie - Luxeffects Glitter Top Coat in shade “A Cut Above”. This is a clear nail polish with lots ld pink glitter “confetti” pieces.
essie - Enamel Nail Polish in shade Ballet slippers- a translucent pale pink shade. This is a great pinky nude nail polish for fair-light skin tones.
This is such an easy look to achieve- all I did was apply two coats of Ballet slippers to all my nails, except my ring finger- For that nail I applied one coat. The second coat was the glitter luxe top coat in “a cut above”.
I followed up with essie - Gel.Setter Top Coat on all my nails to achieve that gel polish finish. This is also great because it helps your nails dry faster!
The one thing I will say about the essie - Luxeffects Glitter Top Coat polish is that its hard to remove since all the glitter pieces are solid pieces that dont come off with acetone. They need to be scraped off with a nail scraper (a flat end) . Having a coat of nail polish underneath the glitter helps in the scraping process since you wont be directly scraping your nail.

Nutty for Nudes
💅🏻 So I love nude nail polishes and I love the Lights Laquer formula and when this collection came out I knew I was going to buy it. Also I accidentally spilled one of them which is what led to this shot because I was in a picture taking trance and just started spilling all of them for the sake of the shot and now I am very very sad about pouring out half of my nail polish.
💅🏻 I bought the first Lights Laquer and I was absolutely in love. The formula is very opaque and on the thicker side. The brush is very user friendly and coats my nails in (almost) one swipe. And the formula is actually pretty long wearing which for me is saying a lot as most of my at home manicures start chipping in minutes.
💅🏻 The YNBB (Your Nails But Better) Collection features five nudes ranging in depths and undertones.
From left to right:
Mila: Ivory with cool undertones
Matilda: Spft beige with yellow undertones
Lyla: Neutral tan with pink undertones
Emma: Warm tan with orange undertones
Alyanna: Deep cool toned chocolate brown
Olivia: Rich espresso brown with red undertones
💅🏻 I honestly couldn’t pick which is why I bought all of them but my favorites are probably Matilda and Emma. If you’re in the market for some neutral nail polishes I strongly recommend checking these out. The colors are beautiful and the formula is fantastic.
