Talking new VitaminC!
I’ll start off by saying Vitamin C and my skin just do not get along. When I received this new serum from Ole Henriksen for testing purposes I was excited to see if this might finally be the one that works for my skin due to the addition of PHAs in the serum. I love the lightweight texture of the serum and the fresh citrus scent. It does apply a bit tacky but dries down quickly. Unfortunately it caused me to breakout with a ton of whiteheads just like every other vitc I’ve tried. I used for 6 days and honestly did notice some brightening in that time, but decided to stop using due to the breakouts. They claim that you should see brightening effects in 7 days and if you were someone who reacts well to vitamin C I honestly think you’d really love this product. So sad it didn’t work for me! 😭 OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum

Say goodbye to bumpy skin!!
I’ve been using this duo for the past 2 weeks and the skin on the back of my legs & butt has never been more smooth! These are perfect for anyone who suffers from keratosis pilaris. The scrub is used 2-3x a week on dry skin and then washed off in the shower. Helps exfoliate the skin with a fine physical exfoliant but also includes glycolic and lactic acid to help brighten/smooth and help increase cell turnover. The particles are so fine this never causes any irritation on my skin. The only reason I am not giving the scrub 5 stars is because for the amount I use on my body the price seems kind of steep at 40$ CAD. This body cream is a DREAM. If you had to choose just one of these products I’d go with this. It has a rich creamy texture and has a natural AHA blend to help smooth out any bumpy textures but also gives amazing hydration. I noticed results after using this cream for only a few days! Will 100% repurchase this product. I sometimes will get a bit of acne on my butt/ behind my legs and this has helped clear it up!

HG cleanser - 3rd empty
I’ve struggled with acne most of my life and when I was young my derm recommended cetaphil and I basically stuck with that for most of my life. Finding this Philosophy purity cleanser was a life changer. This cleanser is so good you can even get away without a first cleanse. It’s called a 3-in-1 cleanser because it can “replace” your makeup remover cleanser and toner. And honestly nights that I’m feeling super lazy, this really does do it all! Never leaves any left over mascara. Skin feels super clean but never stripped. Even if I wait a while before I apply the rest of my my skincare, my skin never feels too dry or tight after use. I’m always switching up my cleaners throughout the week but this is one that is always in my arsenal because it’s that good!

First cleanse empty...would I repurchase?
2020 I’m really focusing on emptying products I have open before I open anything similar. Typically for a first cleanse I use a balm or micellar water. I thought I’d give a cleansing oil a go and purchased this one from Boscia. Now this did get the job done but I felt like I needed to use a lot of product compared to a balm. This did not give me cloudy eyes which is definetely a plus and I did enjoy pump. Less risk for bacteria getting into the product compared to a balm. Overall I wasn’t blown away by this product so I won’t be repurchasing. That being said I would like to try other cleansing oils. Anyone have any recommendations?!

#getemptywithme - gentle aha essence
I never knew I even needed an essence in my life until I tried this one from Caudalie. Just finished this mini a few weeks ago and thankfully I have another in stock! This does have a slight fragrance which is why I only gave it 4 stars as some people might find it overpowering. I am typically sensitive to scents but this does not bother me, I actually quite enjoy it. Let’s talk about why I love it! It has glycolic acid which is the smallest molecular size of all the AHAs. This means it’s able to penetrate deeper into the skin. I’ve found this essence helps brighten my skin and also provide a gentle exfoliation. When I pair this with their serum I wake up with baby soft skin in the morning! This product only has a 6 month shelf life which is why I opted to go for another mini since this one is empty. Even though I use it quite regularly I have a lot of other products I rotate with and do not think I could finish a full size in 6 months!

inexpensive sleeping mask perfect for winter!
Since I have pretty dry skin I’m obsessed with sleeping masks. Anything to help replenish my skins hydration while I sleep I’m here for. This E.L.F sleeping mask is about 15$ CAD but I usually buy when it is on sale making it an even better bang for your buck. The texture is similar to a thicker night cream. Even though the bottle looks small it usually lasts quite a while. In the summer sometimes I’ll use this alone as a nighttime moisturizer but during the dry winter I’ll slather over top of another night cream. Whenever I use this my skin is extra soft in the morning and luckily has never caused me to breakout! If you’re in the market for a sleeping mask I recommend this one, especially if you don’t want to break the bank on say the Yttp dream mask... I’m not always a fan of e.l.f products but this one is definitely a winner for me! Anyone else try this mask before?

EMPTY - my favorite pimple patches 😍
I’m going to be completely honest with you guys. I get a LOT of pimples, zits, blemishes, cystic acne, ETC. So I go through a lot of pimple patches and I’ve tried SO MANY at this point. The PEACE OUT - Acne Healing Dots are some of the most powerful patches I’ve used! But first—let me explain what pimple patches are used for. So, obviously, they are meant to treat pimples. The “patches” are actually very small hydrocolloid bandages which are used in the medical field to absorb excess liquid from beneath the skin without actually breaking the skin or leaving a scar. There are two types of pimple patches—hydrocolloid bandages as I mentioned above, and HEALING patches which are usually infused with tea tree or calendula oils to help accelerate the healing process for healing breakouts. The Peace Out Dots are hydrocolloid bandages so they won’t do much on scabs or red spots. These are THICK—meaning I would recommend wearing them at night as they are very hard to conceal under makeup and when they work, it’s OBVIOUS—see photos. My experience with these patches has been amazing. With other brands I usually need to use 2-4 patches to fully absorb a bad pimple, but with these babies I usually only have to use one, sometimes 2 if it’s a cystic spot. Price-wise, these are on the expensive side at $32 for 40 patches. If my pimple is small enough though, I cut the patches in half to conserve them. I think they are more than worth it and in the long run I’m using less dots because these stop the spread of acne causing bacteria. I have to rate these 5 out of 5 because I can always rely on them. _____________________________ 2nd photo—chin zit before patch. Raised, red, swollen, painful 3rd photo—after initial application 4th photo—7 hours after application 5th photo—after removing the patch. Shrunk, not painful, and partially healed

My New Foundation
I love everything but one tiny aspect of this foundation. I wish it were a touch higher coverage. Just a touch tho! This stuff looks truly special on the skin, it looks like your skin but with a ton of hydration, a natural glow, smooth texture and vibrancy. It’s extremely lightweight as it’s that serum texture and blends beautifully with your fingers or a dense brush. It just melts into the skin! This is truly my new favourite and will likely become more of a favourite once I clear up my dark spotsILIA - True Skin Serum Foundation

Brand New Holy Grail
I am obsessed and truly in love! This precious cleanser is perfect for an everyday evening second cleanse as it gets the job done without being stripping. It has a gentle foam which I find satisfying and a beautiful natural scent. HOLI FROG - Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash

Clean, Vegan, AND from the Drugstore?!
I picked these two products up at Shoppers Drugmart here in Canada when I randomly stumbled upon the new display. The foundation is a shade too light for me and has a slightly odd scent but overall I do like it. It has good coverage but leaves the skin looking hydrated. The lip oil is quite hydrating and sinks into the lips leaving a good colour payoff. And it smells so good...like candy!🍭

All my other holy grails have been dethroned
First time retinol user here and let me tell you. When you know, you know! I have hyperpigmentation around my mouth, texture on my forehead that appeared after I gave birth and it’s currently winter in Canada so the heating and cold dry air has turned my skin from combo to dehydrated. I started using a-passioni once a week and IMMEDIATELY saw results. The first thing I noticed was the texture on my forehead flattened out. Now this was temporary. A day or two later, it would come back and would only disappear again once it’s was a-passsioni night I started using her twice a week now. Again, she slays that texture but the texture will sometimes come back.. it’s unpredictable. As for my hyperpigmentation: it’s getting lighter.. as a WOC with uneven skin tone, I think I may need more « professional » treatments for it to fully go away but this is helping A LOT. Even better than my previous GOAT: Honeymoon Glow. Downside: my skin is drier than the Sahara and this treatment is making me flake like crazy. Did I weigh out the pros and cons? YES! And it’s totally worth it. I just need to make sure I’m cutting out my acids most days (starting to introduce them only once a week) and GENTLY physically exfoliating (Fresh’s strawberry scrub does an amazing job). Will I be repurchasing it? For now it’s a yes and they have two sizes available which is great in case you’re not sure you want to go all in with the big one. I’ll be repurchasing the small one because it lasts quite a while and you never know what other magical things DE releases in the future that might dethrones this one 💁🏽♀️
DRUNK ELEPHANT-A-Passioni Retinol Cream
Krave has once again created a beautiful, simple, thoughtful product. This product is here to simply moisturize, but it’s hard for me to see it as a moisturizer. It seems to do more in terms of hydration. The cream rests inside of a lightweight, plastic jar. I’ve noticed that a lot of people would prefer it to be glass. I don’t mind the use of plastic here. It feels sturdy and well made. It’s simple, just like the product inside. Upon application, one will notice a burst of hydration. The cream itself is quite thick, but it somehow transforms into a lightweight consistency once emulsified. It feels watery once warmed-up between the hands, almost like a gel-cream, but more watery. I did notice that the cream dissipates rather quickly once applied. Which caused me to question whether or not it’s actually going to do it’s job at first. But it really works wonders in terms of hydration. I do recommend using something to lock in the hydration it provides; a face oil or a more occlusive cream perhaps. Honestly (and this is a stretch), I think this could be used as an essence. Despite the fact that it’s marketed as a cream, the way it magically turns watery in the hands really has me thinking. My products simply seem to work better on top of this. Could Krave have created a cream essence unintentionally? Despite the cream not moisturizing the skin enough (personal opinion), I still think it’s a great product! To me, it does act more like an essence due to the texture and hydration it provides. Who knows? Maybe Krave will create an actual essence to add to their line in the future. I hope they do!!! I can imagine it being just as wonderful, skin-loving, and thoughtful as their other products. But, in the meantime, this cream seems to work like one, oddly enough. Tip: try layering this product 3 times prior to layering other products. The hydration is real, and watch your other products work better! Expect plump, dewy skin! Krave - Oat So Simple Water Cream
