Accutane = complete!
I have finished my round of accutane and wanted to share with everyone! The bottom photos is what I look like after applying my skincare that I have below. My skin definitely loves it! I still have some scarring to deal with but I am no longer having any breakouts! My skincare routine: spectro - Jel Cleanser I absolutely love this cleanser. I used this while on Accutane and I did not have any problems with it so this will be my go to cleanser now. dermalogica - Multi-Active Toner I’ve been using this for about a month and my skin is loving this! I spray this on damp skin to really hydrate my skin. OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Serum I use this because this is really the only vitamin c serum I have used. If anyone has a recommendation let me know! dermalogica - Stress Positive Eye Lift MaskI haven’t rated this because I just started using this. Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion I’ve been using this for months and I actually love this! I also mix a few drops of The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil with it to lock everything in. I finished off with Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 I actually love this sunscreen!
January 11, 2021 My skin was not the greatest. It overall got so bad and honestly I was eating so much junk food, drinking not a lot of water and skipping out on my skin routine because I was lazy. After 2 weeks my skin has just a few pimples but overall makes me feel confident. January 24, 2021 I stayed with my regular skin routine: CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion Avène - CLEANANCE SUNSCREEN SPF 50+ And just trusted the process and tried to not pick on them. I am super happy with how I’ve recently managed my skin and all I needed to do was stick to what i should do and continue doing that. > I drink 1500ml+ a day >Started to workout daily, even for just a few minutes > And felt more confident I have a hard time maintaining healthy skin but I will continue improving my diet, drinking more water and etc... I got so mad but I needed to love myself no matter what because, acne just makes you even more beautiful. I have learned to love myself and I’m happy with who I’ve become throughout this 2 week journey.
CocoKind Skincare Routine
Cocokind has easily become one of my favorite skincare brands! It’s such a cute brand and I love how committed they are to being environmentally conscious and accessible to all! My favorite products so far have been the texture smoothing cream + the pore refining concentrate! (not pictured) My simple cocokind routine: cocokind - Oil to milk cleanser cocokind - Raspberry vinegar toner cocokind - Glow Essence cocokind - Pore Refining Concentrate cocokind - Texture smoothing cream cocokind - Chia Facial Oil
These are two pictures I think best show my skin and the condition its in right now, if youd like to see how it used to look you should check out some of my other posts(: Ive started using some new products from CocoKind because Ive been interested in new products lately and I may have had too much to drink one night which lead to a skincare haul online! First, let me say that I did a lot of research on CocoKind before buying and I really loved that theyre Vegan and Cruelty Free. I also loved that all of their products use clean, natural ingredients that are rarely harsh on skin. I used to use a Witchhazel and Apple Cider Vinegar Toner that I make at home but, I recieved their cocokind - Rosewater Facial Toner as a free gift from a promo on line and UHM CAN YOU SAY AMAZING!? Im not even kidding you guys, this toner calms and balances my skin instantly. My skin tends to flush easily so after washing it is usually pretty red. Immediately after washing I use a couple of sprits of this on a cotton pad and my skin transforms into balanced, glowing skin. I then use my Vitamin E oil, acne.org - Moisturizer with Licochalcone , and cocokind - Chia Facial Oil for moisturizers. Lastly, I swipe the cocokind - Revitalizing Eye Cream under my eyes and the cocokind - Turmeric stick all over my lips as a kind of lip mask/moisturizer. The perfect routine for clean, hydrated skin! Please keep in mind that while I did have horrific cystic acne for a certain amount of time, my skin has actively cleared up and my products do not neccessarily revolve around acne anymore. I do make sure to use products that Im sure wont cause new acne to form but I have been trying to stay away from acne fighting agents as I dont really need them anymore. When I do start to break out a bit more I use Benzoyl Peroxide treatments and the cocokind - Turmeric tonic as a spot treatment.

Product Review: Skincare and Makeup
I received these item free in exchange for my honest review on them. Iv been using these products for about a month now. So here we go! 1. COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch Acne Pimple Master Patch $6. Firs of all holy value! These patches are actual magic. They are virtually invisible when on and I love how there are multiple sizes. It honestly cleared up deep pimples overnight. I’m going to stock up! 2. @LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Duo (+) Effaclar Duo Acne Treatment. I do not have very strong breakouts, while I wish I had this product in high school when my acne was really really bad this product was good but too strong/intense for where my skin is currently at. I used it on a few problem areas but it seems more like a long term treatment not a quick fix for someone like me. 3. MAYBELLINE - Mascara Lash Sensational Lash Sensational I loved the applicator but the formula itself was just not doing it for me. It clumped together on the brush and that transferred over to my lashes. I think the applicator is awesome but not the biggest fan of the formula. 4. MAYBELLINE - FaceStudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter Master Chrome Highlighter. I absolutely love this product! It provides a very natural glow that is PERFECT for literally everyday. It blends beautiful and I just really love it. 5. CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin GOLD STAR! This cleanser is seriously the BOM! It’s affordable, gentle, and gets everything from lipstick to lash glue off your face. I’m buying the biggest bottle they have right now!
Starting tretinoin and spironolactone
After 6 months of researching products and learning more about my skin and what works, I have finally found out the root cause of my acne. I feel like I’ve always had a good, consistent skincare routine. I’ve even made good lifestyle choices such as changing my pillow case every week, cutting out diary, limiting junk food, and drinking lots of water. However, I did not see any improvements with my skin. I mainly break out on my cheeks, chin, and jawline, especially when I’m on or about to start my period. I recently consulted a doctor for free thanks to my university’s student health services. She told me that this is hormonal for sure. I had been producing an excess of androgen hormones which lead to more oil production and eventually more acne. She prescribed me with spironolactone and tretinoin. I started taking these medications a few days ago. I think I’m in the purge period right now. I’m so glad I finally have closure on what has been causing my acne. I’ve never had serious acne problems in the past so this has been really frustrating. Current skincare routine: Morning: CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin CeraVe - Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 for Face with Zinc Oxide Night: íUNIK - Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin pura d'or - 100% Rosehip Seed Oil I also use the THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser every other night. If I need to subside a pimple, I would use Rael - Acne Healing Patch or the COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch I’ve been taking spironolactone every morning and applying my .025% tretinoin every other night. I’m giving my skin time to adjust to the tretinoin so I will start applying it nightly next week. For those who have taken spironolactone or tretinoin: how long did it take for you to see less breakouts? And can I still use my salicylic acid cleanser while on tretinoin?
The Ordinarys’ biggest BUST
So typically I’m a pretty big fan of The Ordinary products. They are a great budget friendly brand (especially in Canada where brands like Good Molecules are a bit harder to get). Plus they offer a great range of different ingredient focused products. BUT, man oh man... I would not wish this product on ANYONE. This The Ordinary - Mineral UV Filters SPF 15 with Antioxidants is a total NO. Maybe it’s the red undertones in my skin but this SPF makes me look like I’ve been dead for 3+ days. It has a greyish purple tint to it, that leaves a terrible ghostly purple white cast. It’s a thick cream that takes awhile to absorb. Personally I found this really caked in my eyebrows and along my hairline... I put it on before I went for a run and actually had to scrape it out of my eyebrows in the shower afterwards 🤢 Even at only $8.90 CAD for a 50ml bottle I still feel like I wasted my money... so I’m gunna say it... I would RATHER get coal than The Ordinary - Mineral UV Filters SPF 15 with Antioxidants !!!!! Have you tried this sunscreen?! What are your favourite budget spfs?
HELP MY SKIN‼️🤎
I’ve had theses products for my skin for about a week , and I don’t if this is the process of it working or not working!!!? Affordable empties - worth every penny!
Can you tell that I’m a big Hydro Boost fan? I swear there is always two items in my cupboard that are from the Neutrogena Hydro Boost line 🙈 Anyways, I love all of these products AND they are all affordable. I would repurchase any of these and in some cases I already have! Neutrogena - Fragrance-Free Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream Such a lovely body lotion. It glides over the skin so easily and absorbs quickly after. I always buy the fragrance-free version. Love the pump, it’s super convenient and love the price point (typically around $10-$15 and you get a lot of product). Benzagel - Acne Wash I have two empties here and I have one more in my cupboard that I’m using right now and I have back up in my other cupboard. For me personally, this product has helped so much with my stubborn acne and I can’t go without it in my evening routine. It’s just under $10 which is a great price. BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water A cult classic. I love this for helping take off whatever is on my face after a workout or for breaking down my eye makeup during the evening. For some reason I feel like it works better and is gentler than other drugstore options. I have two empties here and I’m working on a third right now. It’s $15-$20 for a bottle, which is a little more than other drugstore micellar waters but it works better (in my opinion) and you typically get more product. VERSED - Keep It Supple Body Oil It’s so moisturizing and definitely does make skin feel supple. I like the convenience of the spray top, but I do find myself spraying it into my hands instead and then spreading it on just because I don’t have very good aim and typically spray some oil all over the floor of my bathroom... They oil doesn’t dry in immediately, but it’s not too greasy or wet. It lasted me quite a while and it’s just $10-$15. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream I don’t think I need to say anything about this one. Cult fave. Great texture for oily / combo skin or for a summer routine. Always buy the fragrance free option. Good price for around $20! I keep buying, although I’m always trying other gel creams. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The price point on this is *chef’s kiss*, as with almost all Ordinary products. It’s around $6 and a little goes a long way with this! Incorporating this into my routine helps with brightening, oil control and the appearance of pores. It didn’t do a ton for my acne or dark marks, but overall really happy with the oil control and how it works on my pores. Bioré - UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+ The only thing I don’t love about this product is the scent. It smells like alcohol, although it fades once it’s on your skin. I love the gel-like texture, how lightweight it is, how it reapplies over makeup and the price point, $15. 😘
Help me please!
So I have been slow introducing my skin to new skincare products for a few months now, however I am seeing no improvements. I tend to have oily sensitive skin. Can someone help me or tell me what in my skin care routine is maybe not helping me. Thanks! In the morning I use: CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream CeraVe - Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum I don’t always use this product because my skin tends to be oily PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ In the evening I use: GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream Curology - Curology formula CeraVe - Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum

Week 2 of Barrier Repair
After doing some more research I changed my routine to the following in Week 2: AM CLEANSE: washed face with water TREATMENT: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 MOISTURISER: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream EYE CREAM: CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream SUNSCREEN: PAULA'S CHOICE - Calm Mineral Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PM PRE-CLEANSE: GARNIER - Micellar Milk Cleansing Water for dry and sensitive skin, this has been amazing and so gentle on my skin CLEANSE: CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin this is a nice gentle cleanser, as of yet I am not sure of the long term benefits but it doesn’t leave my skin dry/tight after washing. Will continue to see how it goes. TREATMENT: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 this definitely leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated after use. But unsure if hydrating enough. EYE CREAM: CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream still haven’t seen any improvements with this. MOISTURISER: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream as soon as I started using this my skin improved dramatically over night, I no longer had red rashy-looking bumps on my upper cheek. Even my husband noticed and complimented how my skin looked in the morning after just one use !! So this is a winner. Although, I am thinking as I get closer to summer I will go back to The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA as I tend to get oily in the tzone and it is lighter than the DE moisturiser. Please tell me what you think of my routine. I am also looking at adding a chemical exfoliator, as I have deep black heads and visible pores across my cheeks and nose. And I get hormonal acne along my jawline. Suggestions on where to take my routine next are welcome. We have come out of winter and going into spring. The sun is out but the air outside is still quite nippy so havent started getting oily just yet.

My morning skincare routine! 🌞
Quick Note: I get most of my skincare products and recommendations from Skincare By Hyram! -CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin I love this cleanser! It is very gentle and non-stripping for people with sensitive skin (like myself). I recommend that you gently rub it on your face for 45 seconds to 1 minute for it to be effective. -BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water This is amazing!! I use this a toner on a cotton round. It removes any grime my cleanser missed. It’s also very gentle but effective. -The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I use this serum first. It helps with acne-prone or oily prone skin. Since I have combination skin, I use this on my t-zone and upper lip, where I get a lot of blackheads and oil. I will occasionally use it on my entire face, especially during the summer. -The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I use this serum on the dryer parts of my face such as my cheeks and chin. This serum was my first product from The Ordinary and I love it so much. It hydrated my skin without feeling too heavy or sticky. -CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream I have very very pale skin and insomnia. That unfortunate combination leads to very heavy, dark eye bags. This eye cream does cause help get rid of my eye bags, but no to the point where they are not evident. - CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin This moisturizer is great and effective for my skin. It is a slightly heavier and will leave your face shiny, so I would recommend using a makeup powder to decrease the shine. - PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ I LOVE this sunscreen. It smells nice without added fragrance and does not leave any white residue or make your face look paler. It is not heavy or sticky like most sunscreens. It does make your face look slightly shinier, but less than many other sunscreens I have tried.

Morning routine for bright and glowy skin
Me last year = lots and lots of breakouts. Me now = still very acne prone BUT got a hold of it and now I want to target acne scars, get glowy skin and avoid any future flare ups. My morning and evening routines are fairly different. In the evening, I do a double cleanse and use products like my benzagel face wash to reduce the chances of getting acne and mix up a couple different products such as acids or retinol depending on what my skin needs. But in the morning I try to go for a hydrating and brightening routine that will help me reduce my pesky acne scars and make me look glowy and more awake! I also love this routine because most products are from the drugstore. Products: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser This is great for the morning. It’s gentle, hydrating and won’t strip the skin. Definitely worth your money. I'm from - Rice Toner Loving this toner for the morning to help keep my skin plump and bright. This is one of products that I depend on to gently fade my acne scars and overall brighten my whole face. Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum I’m not quite ready to give a full review on this yet, but so far, so good! This serum has a higher percentage of vitamin c (10%) than the latest one I was using and also vitamin e and ferulic acid. Overall, skin is glowy and it’s not irritated at all, so I’m happy. THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream Keeps eyes hydrated, helps de-puff, all good in my books. HONEST - Hydrogel Cream So excited to put up a full review about this product, but overall, great ingredients that keep skin moisturized and I love how glowy it makes my skin look in the morning. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50 Light-weight, good protection, no white cast and also helps give skin a little glow in the morning. Super happy with this purchase so far. Thought of the day: I had been doing a water cleanse in the morning for the last few months but recently read that it wasn’t the best idea. So I’ve started to use this gentle cleanser from Cerave for now. My skin seems to be liking it so far! Does anyone else do a water cleanse in the AM?

First Skin Update!
Here’s a no make-up selfie for the record! I just started to change my skin routine a couple of days ago so there’s not a ton of difference to see yet. Mostly a lot of the inflammation and redness has been majorly calmed down, thanks to The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and skipping the harsh physical exfoliants I used to use. My main concern is healing acne, decongesting my skin and pores, and repairing and protecting from further damage. As my skin is very sensitive, calming and non-irritating products are a must! I’m hoping to see overall less redness and swelling as I change my skin routine. Products currently in my routine: 🌿 CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin 🌿 BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water 🌱 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 🌱 THE inkey LIST - Q10 Antioxidant Serum 💦 THE inkey LIST - Multi-Biotic 💦 CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ 🌞 Avène - Mineral Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50+ There are a few other serums and masks I have but I’m trying not to use anything for a few days while my skin gets used to the new things I’ve added, just in case any irritation develops. I’ll be sure to make updates on how some of these have been working, and which ones I’ll be phasing out. Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried any of these products, or if you have some recommendations for others! 🖤⛓🌿
