Serums (oily/combo acne prone skin)
Okay so I use these serums everyday. I had a lot of dark spots on my face as well as mini break out here & there. I split them up into morning and night. Rule of thumb👍🏾: 1. Wash your hands before applying serum 2. Never apply dropper directly to skin (might as well throw the product in the trash because it’s now compromised) 3. Wait 20-30 mins when applying multiple serums 4. Introduce serums slowly to skin if not used to them 5. Only use a serum that pinpoints your issues 6. Do what’s best for you skin, my routine might not work for you or it might.. skincare is SCIENCE. (Just be careful you little chemist you). (L👉🏽R) The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA ((🌞morning)) okay so this is a great solution for dark marks and slowing the process of acne scars (I am guilty of popping some pimples, terrible habit). I use this every morning after my vitamin C serum. ($8.90) 111SKIN - Cryo Atp Sports Booster ((🌜night) I use this with my moisturizer. I usually just add this to my moisturizer by mixing on the back of my hand. This stuff is amazing. I got it in my IPSY bag and I’m so in love with it. I’ve been using Differins gel at night for about 2-3 weeks now and my oily skin has turned COMBO ! So adding this adds all my moisture back. It’s marketed for after workouts as well but honestly I don’t like anything on my face after workout. ($135) CLEAN SKIN CLUB - Vitamin C Brightening Booster ((🌞 morning)) this stuff smells amazing and does the job! I used this with my morning moisturizer. It’s marketed to use alone but I already use a 20% vitamin C serum and don’t want to over do it. I love that it’s has natural extracts and smells like fruit. I usually mix this with my morning moisturizer & apply it unmixed directly to my neck. I got this in my Boxycharm, but will definitely purchase when I run out. ($50) Seoul Ceuticals - 20% Vitamin C Hyaluronic Acid Serum ((🌞morning)) I did a review on this on my vitamin C post but this stuff is magical and I definitely recommend checking it out. I use it every morning after I tone and let sit 20 mins before I add my Alpha Arbutin. (16.99) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% ((🌜night)) I use this serum every night because I use vitamin C in the morning. I use it before my Differins gels and after I tone (Kiehls Cucumber toner). It helps reduce acne, oil, and has minimized my pores. I love this stuff and will always keep it in my arsenal. ($5.90) The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 ((🌜night)) since my alpha arbutin also has HA I use this serum at night. I sandwhich it before my niacinamide and Differins gels, sometimes I use before my niacinamide, or I add it to my moisturizer for extra extra moisture (depends on if my skin is really dry). I love that this is a humectant (moisturizer absorber) and I feel it it does help my under eye wrinkles. ($6.80)
Seoul Ceuticals-20% Vitamin C Hyaluronic Acid Serum
I recently picked up the cocokind chia facial oil and have been obsessed! I always have to have a step of using some oil in my skincare routine. I have combination skin so I use it all over bc it gives me extra hydration or on patches where my skin is driest. On the box it claims organic chia oil seed oil is a significant source omega 3 fatty acids. This oil provides deep hydration, antioxidants, and phytonutrients to help create supple skin and a youthful glow. So I would say if you want an extra glow, and extra hydration use this oil over your moisturizer! It absorbs quickly and feels great on the skin too It’s easily affordable ( you can get it at target, whole food, or on their website!) Def give it a go!

Product Review - The Ordinary AHA + BHA Mask
The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution My Take - Yes I know. Maybe the most hyped / reviewed mask out there right now. Gotta throw my 2 cents in! As with majority of posts I see - this mask is amazing. Changed my entire exfoliation game, which in turn changed my makeup game. I’d never messed with chemical exfoliation but this babe makes it possible for anyone to try. It has a two-fold effect - immediate removal of dead skin, then long term fading of scarring. Details below! Usage - - use on dry skin - use no more than once a week - apply evenly to the face, ideally in PM - I use about 5-6 drops - let sit for no more than 10 minutes before rinsing Expect to see - - immediately after rinsing off, see removal of dead skin cells and dry skin flakes leaving glowy, smooth skin - after about 1 month of consistent weekly use, you’ll see fading of dark spots or acne scars, leaving an even skin tone Notes - - my first usage, I went for 7 minutes because this is strong stuff! I worked up from there to 10 minutes - don’t use for more than 10 minutes or more than once a week. These acids can cause damage to skin if used incorrectly - don’t be afraid - go for chemical exfoliant ! When you go apply your face makeup afterward, you’ll be stunned ☀️ Comment with thoughts or questions ! 🌾

THOUGHTS ON OLEHENRIKSEN BANANA BRIGHT EYE CRÈME
#OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème[products]#[FiveStars] I’ve been using this eye cream for 5 months. Here are my thoughts: OVERALL OPINION: I have dark shadows underneath my eyes & have accepted that those are genetic and probably aren’t going anywhere. The color/shade of my under eyes stays the same no matter what product or treatment I use. However the brightness of the area can be improved from various products [for me at least]. This eye cream does reduce the dullness and dryness under my eye area when I apply it. I also have slight folds/fine lines in that area, and while this product didn’t do anything for me in that department, the brightness it gives makes them less prominent. SCIENCE: the creme is made with pigments that are meant to mimic banana powder, which is known for its pale yellow tint to color correct dark areas. It also contains vitamin C, which aids in boosting collagen production. This is important especially because the body does not naturally produce vitamin C for itself, so if you are not already consuming foods high in vitamin C, then your skin will not be in the most supple/firm state. The under eyes can become much drier than the rest of the face, so it is important to maintain their moisture from the inside out. VALUE: This product is $39 at Sephora, which is standard for a good quality eye cream. I previously used Kiehl’s avocado eye cream and definitely noticed the difference in quality of both products. The Ole Henriksen creme is so much more hydrating & I notice it lasts a lot longer. It also holds makeup in place, esp concealer compared to other eye creams I’ve used. I’ve been using it for 5 months and I’m only halfway done with the pot. I’ll probably try a different eye cream once this one’s done just to experiment, but this is something I’ll definitely go back to in the future.
HEMP SEED OIL AS DAILY MOISTURIZER
Sweet Essentials 100% pure organic Virgin Hemp Seed Oil Price: $9 on Amazon I’ve been using this oil for about a month in replacement of a cream moisturizer because Sophia Roe recommended it and has the most supple healthy looking skin so I thought I’d try it out for myself. Here are my thoughts thus far: Texture: It has a green color at first but it melts into the skin in a couple of minutes. It isn’t too greasy and it feels light on the skin. Hemp seed oil is very low on the comedogenic scale, compared to coconut oil for example which is the highest, so it actually cannot clog your pores. Use: I use it as a replacement for my cream moisturizers that I usually use. I wanted to try something new and oil-based to see how my skin would react. My skin is normal but can become more dry during the summer months so I thought this was the perfect time to give it a try. At first I hated it. I wanted to stop using it because it made me break out and was just so different from cream moisturizers that I’d grown accustomed to. But I’m glad I kept using it, as it gives my skin a beautiful glow and I even notice that some of my acne scarring has diminished over the course of the month and this is really the only change I’ve implemented into my skincare routine. I suppose the first couple of weeks served as a purging period of sorts, but now I love it! It also works great on the body esp after the shower as it soaks into the skin so quickly and leaves it feeling hydrated. Science: Hemp seed oil is rich in fatty acids which are good for skin hydration and for soothing skin inflammation. Its qualities help with skin oil production which is great especially if you find your skin on the drier side during the summer months. Overall Opinion: I’m so happy I tried something new. I love that it is non-comedogenic & that it hydrates my skin differently than a cream moisturizer. It’s only $9 on Amazon, so if you want a cheap effective moisturizer then I’d suggest this! It has SO much product and will probably last me a very long while.
