The new Glow Recipe Papaya Cleansing Balm!
I recently decided to be gentler with my skin and purchased my first cleansing balm! I also dislike that I have to cleanse like 4 times with a regular soap to really get all the gunk off—which happens even after using micellar water and makeup wipes. My initial worries were that I would be left with yucky residue and/or get cloudy eyes from the product. But alas! This is everything I wanted—and more. miriamdon’tttt recommendddd 😬 this cleansing balm contains polyethylene (another name for plastic which adds the slip) which isn’t the best for the environment nor for it to be going down the drain !!

melodynHi, thanks! This is from the company site “The polyethylene in Papaya is a safe, cosmetic-grade polymer in liquid form and is different from the polyethylene that makes up common, everyday household plastics or microbeads.” It’s supposed to be PEG (polyethylene glycol) free. I think this means it isn’t the liquid plastic you’re thinking of. I’m going to contact them and ask though, I’ll update you!

Why I immediately sent this product back... 💔
💔I wanted so badly for this to end in a love story.💔 I have used Innisfree’s cleansing oil for years🏅, but wanted to try a balm for the sake of it being more portable🚗, plus I’ve been following Glow Recipe on social media and love their branding and packaging.⭐️ I loved the idea of fruit enzymes in a cleansing balm, and decided to buy my first Glow Recipe product!! 🙌🏻 Yesterday my package arrived and I used it that evening to remove my makeup. First impression, it smells sooo lovely! 🌸 It did an OK job at removing my makeup, but not as quickly or as effortlessly as I’m used to with my Innisfree cleansing oil. When I was satisfied my makeup was removed, I went to wash it all off with water— THIS is when it went from “meh” 😕 to horrified😧. It started to turn into like a thick sticky wax, and I couldn’t get it off for the life of me. Again, NEVER had this issue w my regular oil cleanser. I ended up using my FINGERNAILS to scrape off the product in solid gummy chunks, and I had to be a lot more vigorous on my skin with my 2nd cleanse. 😰 THEN LATER as I was brushing my teeth, I noticed more stringy gummy chunks stuck in my hairline, that I still haven’t been able to get out. **to give the benefit of the doubt, I used this a 2nd time and still same experience. I immediately went back to start the return to Sephora for this. So disappointed in this one, and a lot of Sephora reviews say this is a common issue, that it leaves behind a THICK wax that is difficult to remove. I do not recommend this product. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Is Glow Recipe...the Right Recipe?
Now this brand can be considered luxury with relatively high price points. Much like other luxury brands, a lot of the formulations have high amounts of fragrance which can be very irritating. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner -Great source of proven hydrators and leaves a healthy glow -Antioxidant rich formula that is alcohol free. -Helps smooth texture. -Fragranced and the ph is outside of the ideal PHA and BHA needed to effectively exfoliate. GLOW RECIPE - Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser -Contains a good amount of antioxidants. -Effectively removes dirt and oil then rinses cleanly without leaving the feeling of tight skin. -Stings eyes when used to remove eye makeup. -Contains fragrance which is potentially irritating and product cannot fight acne as claimed. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask -Lotion-gel texture that absorbs quickly and includes skin soothing ingredients. -Includes sodium hyaluronate and antioxidant rich plants. -Fragranced and packaged in a jar which can compromise the ingredients. GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask -Spreads easily and absorbs quickly which leaves skin hydrated. -Includes four forms of avocado which contains fatty acids and antioxidants. -Contains fragrance and is packaged in a jar which can put the ingredients at risk. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Pink Juice Oil-Free Moisturizer -Lightweight, gel-like texture which is perfect for combination to oily skin. -Contains fragrance. -It also contains two kinds of antioxidant rich watermelon extracts. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask -Mask has very moisturizing and soothing ingredients. -It’s easy to use and isn’t overly saturated -Contains fragrance which can be irritating GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist -Fog-like mist settles lightly while refreshing both skin and makeup. -Includes hyaluronic acid and soothing extracts. -Contains fragrance. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Lip Pop -Adds a sheer pink color that can be built up for more pop. -The balm doesn’t offer long lasting hydration compared to the best formulas of today. -Contains potentially irritating fragrance which can worsen dry lips. -Doesn’t exfoliate as well as claimed GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm -Lightweight cream that contains extracts rich with antioxidants. -Effectively removes makeup, dirt, oil, and spf. -Fragranced which can be irritating. Conclusion: This brand has too many products that have fragrance which can be very irritating to the skin. There are products with other issues such as packaging that can put the ingredients at risk and cause hygiene issues. Although I wouldn’t recommend this brand, the oil free moisturizer is actually pretty good.
A gentle cleansing balm
GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm I love double cleansing and cleansing balms are precious. So, when I got to know Glow recipe is launching a cleansing balm, I was quite excited and had to try that. Did I like it? Lets find out. . 🔍WHAT IS IT? A cleansing balm with a smooth buttery texture that emulsifies pretty well when in contact with water and is gentle for all skin types. . 🔍KEY INGREDIENTS: This balm to milky oil formula is packed with exfoliating and calming papaya seed oil, papaya enzymes, papaya extract, and antioxidant-rich blueberry. It also contains Camellia japonica seed oil, strawberry extract and apricot kernel oil. It uses polyethylene but it is a safe, cosmetic-grade polymer, and is different from the household plastics or microbeads (as described). . 🔍MY EXPERIENCE: (I have a normal to dry skin): The formula dissolved the makeup/SPF effortlessly without causing any irritation or stripping my skin. It did not sting my eyes, unlike a few other cleansing balms. I have not done an eye makeup in a while, so I still need to find out if the balm melts away the eyeshadow or the eyeliner. It has a thicker texture, so need to rinse well to remove it. But that slight film on the skin was not an issue as I followed with a water based cleanser. I love the light fresh fruity scent. There is no added fragrance (in case you are sensitive to it). I did not like the plastic spatula that comes with this balm. . 🔍PRICE: $32 for 3.4 oz . 🔍WILL I REPURCHASE IT: NO. I have some other cleansing balm which I like more (just a personal preference). . Vegan. Cruelty-free. Free of PEG, Parabens, Mineral Oil, Sulfates, Silicones, Phthalates, Drying Alcohols, Synthetic Dyes, Fragrance. I like that it comes in a recyclable packaging. #CheriePartner #CherieCreator

DOUBLE CLEANSING 101
This duo is super effective and gentle if you’re new to the world of double cleansing. Double cleansing is basically the process of using an oil/balm/sometimes micellar cleanser to remove make up and SPF before using your regular cleanser. I love using GO-TO - Fancy Face as my first cleanse to remove make up and SPF, I use about three to four pumps and that removes a full face of make up. It has good slip, is non irritating and leaves my skin feeling nourished afterwards. Work the first cleanse around your face for about a minute to really get it all off. Then, add a little water to start to emulsify and remove with a damp muslin cloth. You can then go in with your second cleanse. This is where you want your hydrating/clearing/ foaming sort of cleanser, that’ll remove anything left from the first cleanse and give back to your skin. My current choice is GLOW RECIPE - Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser Work this around your face for a good minute and then remove with a damp muslin. So good! Skin is now prepped and ready for the rest of your routine ☺️
GLOW RECIPE-Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser
I had heard many great things about this brand, Youth to the People. I initially wanted to try this particular cleanser but I didn’t want to get the large sized bottle, luckily Sephora had their mini size and I was able to try it without fear of having so much cleanser leftover if I didn’t like it. I was pleasantly surprised by this product! With having normal skin with sensitivities, I’ve had the hardest time trying to find a cleanser that wouldn’t over-strip or under-clean my skin. I would usually have to settle for one or the other in a cleanser. But with this cleanser, I didn’t have to settle, it gave me clean skin without giving me a tight over-stripped feeling! YTTP Superfood Cleanser
Youth To The People Kale + Green Tea Spinach Vitamins Superfood Cleanser: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser Hey guys I’m back with another skincare product review. I’m going to be talking about this products ingredients and my personal review. Ingredients: The highest concentrated ingredient is water, which is good. The next ingredient in line is Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate. This ingredient is considered mild and non drying. It’s a cleansing agent that naturally produces a creamy feeling on the skin. Skipping around the list and lot of Vitamins are added including Vitamin B5, E, and Vitamin C. There is Leaf extract which is a great ingredient to actively neutralize free radicals which come from UV rats and Pollution. It also includes Green Tea which is one of the most effective agents against skin inflammation and cancerous changes in your skin. Overall, the ingredient list is a great and passes the test. My Personal Experience: I started using this cleanser about 3 weeks ago. I got the travel size because I wanted to test it and see if the reviews and hype building up were true. As soon as I washed my skin with it, it was very soothing and made my skin soft. At first I smelled some fragrance, but after looking into the product it was natural and not artificial due to all the extracts. It didn’t irritate my skin at all and did not overly dry my skin. Since I have oily skin, I really think it did a good job getting all the excess sebum, dirt, and oil off my skin. Overall, this is a great cleanser and I do recommend it to people with combination or oily skin. I guess people with dry skin could use this, but I don’t wanna cause any irritation. I loved the cleanser and definitely will repurchase the full sized. Youth To The People is a great company because they are very eco friendly and sustainable. All their products come in glass bottles which makes you feel a little fancy and you can feel good by not using plastic.

FRESH JUMBO SOY CLEANSER 🤤
I can't even describe how excited I was when I found out that Fresh Beauty was launching their Soy Cleanser in a massive jumbo size version. I was thrilled to have been gifted this giant bb by their team, and after just having ran out of my regular sized Soy Cleanser, this couldn't have came at a better time! This bottle is even more massive than it appears in photographs, and will absolutely carry you throughout the year ( depending on how excessively you cleanse that is ). There's truly something special about this product, in that it's super gentle on the skin, yet extremely effective at giving just the right amount of cleanse & removing dirt and impurities. It makes your face feel so hydrated & nourished, and leaves a beautiful glow to the skin. If you have been on the fence about trying this product, and are unsure whether it's worth the investment, I can absolutely assure you that it is. If your not comfortable with purchasing the jumbo size ( which is definitely the better investment imo ) then you can always start out with the original size cleanser. But as far as value for your dollar, this jumbo is the way to go. I love Fresh Beauty products and the care & quality they put into them. This is one brand I wholeheartedly trust with my skin, and who's products and ingredient list I never have to second guess. I reccomend this fresh - Soy Face Cleanser Jumbo along with all the other beautiful products they create. #cheriepartner
