melscherieHi! Just seeing this lol but yes agreed recently became a fan of Hyram and quickly learned how bad this one is 😂 I’m working on finding a nearby store that has Paula’s choice so I can do the switch. I just hate wasting products so I’m gonna look to see if I can find another use for Thayers!

night night routine
My night time skin care roitine is a ritual. It's my "It's time to decompress, remove the day and transition to a relaxing evening" time. I start by using my micellar water and baby washcloth and remove me eye and facial make. Then, I wash my face with my Cetaphil face wash. After patting my face dry, I pat on some Revolution Bakuchiol Serum. Then I move on to the Revolution Hyaluronic Acid. After that, I get a drop of Revolution Targeted Under Eye Serum with Caffeine and Hyaluronic Acid and tap it under my eyes. Then I use Revolution Collagen Skin Firming Solution on my face. After that it's Revolution Niacinamide Blemish Refining and Moisturizing Serum. Then, I moisturize some more with CeraVe PM Ultra Moisturizing Lotion and finish off with a sample of Sunday Riley High Dose Rentinoid Serum. After that, I am finally ready to lay down for the evening and go to bed. Final thought, you probably don't need a complicated skin routine at night. and certainly, have a less complicated one on standby for those nights when you just can barely put one foot in front of the other. As my mom used to say....night, night, don't let the bed bugs bite. GARNIER - Micellar Water Facial Cleanser Sensitive Skin I love, love, love this stuff! it's gentle on my skin. It takes off the toughest mascara without irritating my eyes. I use it as a pre cleanser before washing my face. Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser While I use this every night, I am only using it until I finish the bottle. I am not crazy about the scent and there is a slight sting on my cheeks when I first lather the product on my skin and I am not fond of that feeling. REVOLUTION - 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum REVOLUTION - Targeted Under Eye Serum 5% Caffeine REVOLUTION - 15% Niacinamide Serum REVOLUTION - Skin Firming Solution Stabilised Active Collagen Serum I've enjoyed all of the products I purchased from Revolution, they will all be empties. I am going to try The Ordinary next but the price comparison is about the same. DIFFERIN - Dark Spot Correcting Serum I haven't noticed a bit of difference since using this. how long do you have to you this before you notice your spots lightening?SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum
Some of my products!! :)
These are some of the things that have worked for my skin so far. My face feels so smooth because of the moisturizer from Cera Ve, which is one of my favorites! CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Can you guys tell me your opinions? :)
I got this in a FabFitFun box and didn’t expect to love it. This is perfect for when you’ve got broken skin. Super painful chapped lips? This is your solution. Weird dry scaley patch on your arm? This is your solution. Nose chapped from the worst cold of your life? You guessed it: this is your solution. I’ve used this product for all of these situations. When the skin on my nose was super chapped from blowing my nose on coarse paper towels I was shocked at how quickly this healed the damaged skin. Usually I suffer through and use Vasoline, but this was a life saver and game changer. A little goes a long way and you likely won’t use it very often, which to me makes it worth the price. I’m almost out and will be buying again. DOCTOR ROGERS RESTORE - Healing Balm
I originally got a small tube in a subscription box. I had never heard of Dr Restore balm before so I did a little research on the ingredients and benefits before using. The Balm itself is clear and is tacky and thick the consistency is like Vaseline. The biggest difference I discovered between a lot of healing balms on the market including Vaseline is that dr restore is Vegan, fragrance free, 100% plant-based with no petroleum no parabens, No Formaldehyde, It’s 💯 Natural. ❤️ Dr Restore is so versatile and offers many benefits & reliefs from common skin issues. Such as chapped lips, dry nails and cuticles, eczema, also help post op surgery, lasering, tattoos, cuts, diaper rash, scrapes, burns, and so much more. I have used it on my chapped lips, just a small dab on your lips will go along way. It help heal my chapped lips fast & made them super soft. I have also used it on several cuts & even a small burn. After cleaning the Area I used a small amount on a bandaid and it worked great. It help heal my cuts & burn fast. I have suffered from eczema for years I use several great products that help but was pleasantly surprised when I used dr restore on a dry patch & it healed it overnight. My husband had a pre cancerous spot below his eye he had to get it Lasered off. The dermatologist told him to use Vaseline to help keep moist, protect and help heal. We used dr restore instead and it worked great. This is something that has become a staple in my medicine cabinet. I will be repurchasing it again. I gave it a 4/5 ⭐️ for the price it’s expensive $30 for a .05 ounce tube but you are better off getting the 1oz jar for $44 off there website. You also can get 10% off your first order. The Best Advice For Choosing Skincare Products
Hey Beauty’s 🙋🏽♀️ So I’ve recommended a lot of products and thought I’d share some advice on how how I select skincare products these days. ☺️ Thanks to @babesandbeauty on Instagram for the advice. Products that you consistently use I noticed that I consistently use TruSkin - Vitamin C Serum which has Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E as my day Serum. I also have The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 for my night routine. I’ve started using Truskin’s Super Serum at night and now alternate between using a natural Retinol or Vitamin A Moisturiser and the Truskin Super Serum which has Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, and Retinol. I now can’t live without my FORMULA 10.0.6 - Rise of the Foam Blemish Busting Cleanser I use this because of the salicylic acid and hemp oil as part of my double cleansing routine. I’m currently trialing products for my first cleanse. 😄 I noticed the ingredients are ideal for my issues which are rough texture, larger than average pores, dullness and my wrinkles and fine lines. For reducing the appearance of my fine lines and wrinkles I ❤️ hyaluronic acid!!!! Products that are ideal for your skin type I’m a little lucky in the fact that I have combination skin and can use a range of products for my issues. Treating the wrong skin type can lead to irritated skin, breakouts and premature aging. Choosing the correct skin care routine for your skin type is essential for making your skin appear youthful and healthy. Products that do not cause irritation to your skin barrier Our skin is the largest barrier against infection that we have. Keeping our skin healthy and moist helps keep this barrier strong. Using the proper skin care products for your skin type can help preserve this important protective layer. ☺️ Products that fit your budget and life The Ordinary creators have totally changed how we think about and buy skin care. Its allowed us to understand ingredients and offered them in ridiculously cheap formulas. It’s championed transparency in an industry that wants you to think expensive products are better. Nothing costs more than $20. In fact, the majority of it ranges at less than $10. This is largely in part thanks to The Ordinary's dedication to transparency, resulting in prices that aren't significantly marked up. Although if you can afford to spend $150 I’d recommend purchasing a Serum rather than a cleanser or moisturiser. Drop me a line about what you consider when you purchase skincare products. Is it the beautiful packaging, ingredient list or that you just saw a review and want to try it. ☺️ Have a wonderful day or evening Jade 🥂
When hydration is needed 💦
I am a dry skinned girl so I am always on the look out for hydrators and moisturizers. This is especially the case as I like to use actives in my routine and they can further dry out my skin. Hyaluronic acid is one of my go to ingredients as it draws moisture into my skin and it works well with other ingredients. The ordinary offers this serum which is great as it is super affordable and it works well with my skin. What is it: This is a hyaluronic acid serum with 3 different weighted molecules so that it can penetrate and hydrate different layers if the skin. Hyaluronic acids is a humectant meaning it absorbs moisture from the air and draws it into the skin. This serum also has b5 which helps nourish and soften the skin. Texture: This is a goopy and cloudy serum that is easily absorbed into my dry skin. Price: This sells at Sephora for $6.80 cad for 1 oz or $12.20 cad for 2oz How I use this: I use this along with my steamer to make sure that the air is moisture rich in order to draw moisture to my skin. This ensures I get the best result. Pros 👍: affordable 2 sizes available accessible effective cruelty free 🐰 Cons 👎: some people don’t like the texture you shouldn’t over use hyaluronic acid (check other products) The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 this is a super simple serum that has really helped my dry skin

Not worth the hype🙁
I grabbed the ordinary moisturizer at ultra beauty for $7. I was happy to know that it was affordable and on shelf’s. After applying this product on for the first time, I was kinda disappointed. The skin absorbs up the product quickly, leaving it dry fast. I noticed after a couple days, my skin started breaking out on my forehead and chin area. The one good thing that I liked about this product was how soft my skin felt afterwards. I also liked the fact that there is no scent to this moisturizer. I would lightly recommend this product to oily skin type, or to someone who is new to skin care. I will not be repurchasing.
1 week update
thanks to all lovely beauties out there to take their time and add a comment on my last post. I was devastated by breakout, i was having from last 2-3 weeks and nothing seems to be working. Well i guess too many exfoliants was making my skin too sensitive so now i am back to basics. I have started what i was doing in the beginning and that seems to be working just fine. I think i was selfish to have a great skin in no time 🥴. If someone is just curious what i am doing right now then lets go to products. AM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control it has tree oil which is good for acne prone skin The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ as i have sensitive and oily skin this makes my face matte and oil free. I really like this one for oily skin or combination skin PM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (only on spots and acne 2-3 times a week) The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA (once a week) The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (once a week) The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque (once a week) The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane tea tree oil only on spots Even if i have listed so many items i feel i have very basic skin care routine as most of the products are being used weekly or only 2-3 times a week. But in the end this routine is working out for me and i am seeing good progress which makes me happy. Again thanks to all who suggested me before ❤️❤️

I got an allergic reaction to my entire routine!
So 2 years ago I woke up with my entire face swollen, red and dry. I had nothing else on my body so it had to be due to something in my face skincare routine. After going to the doctor and getting a steroid shot, I was advised by the allergist to patch test all the products i was using. The result: I WAS ALLERGIC TO ALL OF THEM This was especially weird because I had been using some of these products for over 2 years, but apparently it’s called contact dermatitis. These were the products I used: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel -this one was recommended to me by my dermatologist. I don’t know that it was anything specifically about this cleanser that made me have the reaction but it was just too strong for my sensitive skin THAYERS - Witch Hazel Astringent - my theory is that this caused my reaction, because I had only been using it for 2 days before I woke up looking like a monster lol. it's still weird that it made me sensitive to my other products as well. Now I know that witch hazel is extremely sensitizing and will never use it again. CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream - I don’t see anything wrong with this product in terms of ingredients, but i tried it again recently and got a similar reaction, so I guess it’s just not for me Now it’s been 2 years since all of this happened, and I was slowly able to build up a routine that isn’t sensitizing to my already sensitive skin (check out my last post to see it!) Let mw know if you have any questions/comments/feedback :)

Recently, I have been experiencing terrible breakouts around my cheek, ear and jawline area. They are super painful and when they heal they leave behind terrible dark spots. These are the products I use in the Am: PLANTS FOR SKIN - African Black Soap Face and Body Bar THAYERS - Witch Hazel Astringent CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 Pm routine: PanOxyl - Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Maximum Strength THAYERS - Witch Hazel Astringent Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream My exfoliants: TATCHA - The Rice Polish Foaming Enzyme Powder THE BODY SHOP - Vitamin C Glow-Revealing Liquid Peel Products I used in the past (that didn’t work) CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser bliss - Glow & Hydrate Day Serum bliss - Renew & Smooth Night Serum The Ordinary - Alpha Lipoic Acid 5%
Night time routine
Here is my full night routine! A huge part of it is The Ordinary and so far all of the products I’ve used I love! Skin wise I’ve always suffered with random breakouts on my cheeks and chin along with small bumps along my forehead. My other problem was my skin looked smooth but whenever I would wear makeup it would look very cakey and textured which really made me hate wearing face makeup. I’ve used this routine for about 3 months now and the results are amazing. I still get a hormonal pimple here and there but for the most part I don’t break out and my skin is suuuper smooth and hydrated. Another problem I had was really dark under eyes. Closer to the bottom corners of my eyes my skin was basically purple but now they are slowly but surely lightening up. Below is a list of the products I use and why I use them! Face Wash Simple - Micellar Gel Wash Toner DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner Treatments To shrink pores and help balance oil production The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Mild chemical exfoliant used every other night The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA Helps stay moisturized The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Dark under eyes The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Moisturizer FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration
The Ordinary-Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
Haven't done a weekday morning routine in a minute so for your viewing pleasure its pretty 💕, lol. I was also finally able snag the beloved balm everyone raves about at KCON. Yuppie saturday skin rise + shine gentle cleanser naturerepublic bulgarian rose mositure toner - it's by far the best toner I own because its so thick and soothing. I usually pat this on and go. It works great if you want to layer toners in the winter. heimish all clean blam - for first impressions this balm kicks 🍑. It makes contact and wipes away the impurities I picked through the night. It only took a few circular rubs to wipe away a face full of make-up. iunik rose galactomyces synergy serum apieu Milky U Serum - I can literally mix this with any other serum. I'm starting to let this essence grow on me a little but I still have to treat it like B.A.E when it comes to routines. It really demanding in the relationship 😒. desserttable very moist berry recipe - such great moisturizer to start the morning off with. I love as quickly it soaks into my skin and I hit the door to 🏃🏾♀️.
Hi all. My skin basically has every issue known to man right now 😂 I had a regime going for a long time that was working but now that line isn’t made anymore. Skin concerns: *Dry, potentially dehydrated/barrier issues *HIGHLY reactive and sensitive to many products (acne, rashes) *Acne *Large pores *Bumps on forehead *Bumps, rashiness, and redness on cheeks *Fine lines on forehead Current regime (that clearly isn’t working very well): *Cleanser: skinfix - Barrier+ Foaming Oil Cleanserin AM and OLE HENRIKSEN - The Clean Truth Foaming Cleanserin PM *Serums: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, The Ordinary - ''Buffet''(only on forehead—freaks the rest of my face out) *Moisturizers: The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HAand The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane *toner: FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner The squalane is the only thing I’m 100% sure is working well for me. Everything else is a total shrug! I feel in particular that the hyaluronic acid is causing acne. I’m completely desperate and feel like a total skincare newb after years of having mostly okay skin. I’m looking primarily for budget and cruelty free options but at this point I’m willing to do whatever. Help please!!
It’s time for a review on the jkosmmune products that I have been using for the past 4 weeks. Long story short... I’m really impressed and loving this line! The main ingredient that sets them apart is beta glucan. It is said to be more hydrating than hyaluronic acid, so from the start I was here for it. When I did a little more research I discovered it’s main purpose is actually to help soothe redness and that is something I always look for and have been impressed with after using their products! Their products are also cruelty free, vegan friendly, fragrance free, and gluten free. Free of parabens, ethanol, mineral oil, silicon, talc, benzophenone, paraffin, and phenoxyethenal. ◾️The cleanser: I am obsessed with the fact that the enzyme powder cleanser comes in individual single use packets. Talk about travel friendly. When you add water and mix in your hands the powder suds up and goes on the skin smoothly. They recommend to let it sit for 20 seconds but sometimes I do a little longer. When I rinse my skin feels so clean and soft! It’s 99.9% beta glucan and papaya-derived enzyme. ◾️The toner: As anyone who follows me knows, I’ve been obsessed with the indie lee toner and how hydrating it is. This toner is in direct competition! I’ll never get rid of my Indie Lee, but I will definitely be purchasing the jksommune one and will have both in my routine! I love using them in the morning for extra hydration on my dry skin. It’s alcohol free and feels nourishing and hydrating! ◾️The serum: I have really been enjoying this serum so far. I have very dry skin with fine lines and this serum is very hydrating and makes my skin feel plump and supple. I’m excited to keep using it and see long term results! ◾️The lotion: I will admit this one I’ve used the least amount because I totally neglect my body (really planning to work on that), but the ingredients sound great and my dry skin needs hydration so I’m excited to use this more! I haven’t used it on my face yet but curious to see how it will work! I have so many moisturizers and to be honest didn’t realize this could be used on the face!

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
