Daily Skincare Routine
I constantly switch up my skincare routine according to my skin’s needs, but I’ve been LOVING these products lately! I start by cleansing my face in the shower using CeraVe - Hydrating Facial CleanserIt gently cleanses without stripping my skin of its natural oils and it contains hyaluronic acid, which helps retain moisture. I then tone using HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Sprayas it has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce redness. For serum, my staple is SKINCEUTICALS - Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier SerumIt acts as a natural humectant that provides long lasting hydration and it plumps the skin- minimizing fine lines and wrinkles! To moisturize I go in with YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + ReishiIt’s formulated with squalane which mimics the skin’s natural oils to boost hydration and it gives my skin a healthy glow. For my undereyes, I apply DRUNK ELEPHANT - Shaba Complex Firming Eye SerumThis eye cream is a game changer! It improves radiance and slows down signs of aging before they even begin! This is easily the most important part of my skincare routine- SUNSCREEN! To protect my skin from the sun, I use elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46I love this sunscreen because it’s super light weight and it doesn’t leave a white cast. It’s also beautiful under makeup! Last but not least, I hydrate my lips using the LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask It smells like a dream and makes my lips feel pillow soft!

Transitioning Into My Winter Skin Care! ❄
So technically, I never even transitioned into my "Fall skincare" this year. Where I live, the fall months don't usually get that cold. For the most part, i've been using the same products I was using in the Summer. And that was a mistake! For the past few weeks it's been really dry outside, and eventually resulted in a disruption of my moisture barrier. My cheeks, and especially the area around my eyes felt super tight, and even got cracked and flakey. Lets Talk Cleansers! I LOVE the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser . It will always be a holy grail for me, 365 days a year. This restores and hydrates my skin, and my go-to morning cleanse. I believe in cleansing twice a day, but the morning cleanse should be with a simple, gentle cleanser. Cleansing can be really harsh for the skin, and using a foaming or treatment cleanser twice a day can stir up trouble! Another good one is the PAULA'S CHOICE - Defense Hydrating Gel-to-Cream Cleanser . This one works better as a second cleanse, to help remove makeup. It foams up, and claims to remove makeup. In my opinion, it doesn't work that well without an oil cleanse or micellar water beforehand. This cleanser isn't AS hydrating but still really good and makes my skin soft. Unlike CeraVe, this one this one has a triple-superfood complex, and antioxidants! Lately, I've been oil cleansing, then going in with the Paulas Choice cleanser, & then the CeraVe one, as my night time routine. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize! Even if you have oily skin, moisturize! My go-to moisturizers are the CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion as well as the VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream . Both of these products I LOVE. They are perfect for acne-prone skin, & at a decent price point. But now... I'm going to start incorporating a more hydrating, heavier moisturizer, like the CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream . I'm very picky about heavy moisturizers because my pores are easily clogged. CeraVe is always a reliable brand I can count on to have simple, non-irritating products that get the job done. (And DOESNT clog pores.) Another good one is the PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega + Complex Serum . This one is technically a serum but works like a moistuizer. It's very light but super hydrating & moisturizing! It has robust levels of Omega 3, 6 and 9 for calm, stronger & healthier skin. It also has ceramides, Hyaluronic Acid & Shea Butter. Surprisingly, the Shea butter in this does not clog my pores. Hyaluronic Acid! I don't own a sole Hyaluronic Acid serum, but I use the The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA . This is really good at hydrating and plumping my skin. And it calms & depuffs any inflammation I may have. I like that it's paired with Alpha Arbutin so this serum also fades dark spots & brightens my skin. Plus, these two ingredients can be paried with almost any other active, so it's easy to include this serum in a any routine.
Popular Moisturizers for Dry Sensitive Skin
I have tried these all and here is my take. I have combo skin that gets dry in the winter and oily in the summer. So now that it’s winter I have tried some new products and gone back to some old tried and true favorites. Here is my opinion and I hope you find it useful! FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream If you have eczema, dry skin, and or sensitive skin, this is a great option! When I was battling with eczema on my face this was a lifesaver! It’s not just for your face and makes a great hand cream. It works as a great barrier during the cold winter months. The only reason it doesn’t have five stars for me is that even though it soothes dry skin and eczema, it isn’t actually moisturizing enough for me in the winter. It doesn’t penetrate deep enough. It sits on top of my skin and helps it not loose moisture but doesn’t provide enough additional moisture for me. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi Great moisturizer and my go to for the winter. It is so moisturizing and a little goes a long way. No fragrance makes this a good choice for sensitive skin. Squalane is a great ingredient for hydration and you are seeing it in more and more products. Ashwagandha helps with visible signs of fatigue and Fermented Reishi helps detoxify, hydrate, and fight premature signs of aging. It has some solid ingredients. It does have caramel color which provides 0% benefit to the product but nothing can be perfect right? I noticed more plump skin with no irritation which is why this is one of the two moisturizers I use daily. TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream Before I got this I had been using the Silk Peony Eye Cream from Tatcha and it’s one of the few eye creams that doesn’t irritate my skin. So I was very excited to see what else Tatcha had to offer. The packaging is BEAUTIFUL but very unnecessary. It contains Japanese Purple Rice that boasts many benefits such as helping the skin recover from stress, pollution, and UV damage for healthier looking skin. For me it fell short. The added fragrance was of no benefit to my skin and something in the ingredient list clogged my pores sadly. I had to exchange it and it made me so sad it didn’t work for me. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream Deluxe Sample I got this first as a sample and I actually really like it! Ok...I love it! Drunk Elephant has some mixed reviews in the beauty world and comes at a hefty price tag but when my sensitive skin finds something that works for it I will spend the money for happy skin. The blend of African oils and the plant derived ceramides really help to give moisture and lock it in. Great for dry winter weather! I have two samples to use up then I am buying a full size! I hope you enjoyed my reviews! Xoxo

SKINCEUTICALS REVIEW ✨✨✨
Testing out this Skinceuticals lineup 🥰 I really enjoyed all of the products pictured! they felt amazing and my skin is looking glowy, bright and hydrated this evening Skinceuticals pioneered the term “cosmeceuticals”: cosmetic products with biologically active ingredients claiming to enhance skincare efficacy. All formulas are based on optimal concentrations of active ingredients elegantly crafted into functional products- designed, formulated, and tested for effectiveness. 1st pic: SKINCEUTICALS - Phyto + Hydrating Botanical Serum With Kojic Acid discoloration correcting botanical serum with kojic acid that hydrates and soothes SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel : really nice hydrating serum with vitamin B5 (panthenol), is super silky and great at plumping and softening skin SKINCEUTICALS - Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier Serum : another nice hydrating serum! Felt light but very hydrating, had an interesting color and consistency, layered well SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum : really nice vitamin C serum 😍 also has vitamin E and Ferulic acid. This is a light yet effective antioxidant serum that reduces oxidative damage from free radicals, brightens skin and reduces fine lines/wrinkles. Love it! Also very layerable (everything in this lineup is) SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Mask : a clear gel that felt surprisingly rich in a way, it instantly melted onto my skin and infused the surface with hydration! This formula also has vitamin B5 (panthenol) which is incredible for softening, plumping, and soothing. I’ve seen the benefits of this ingredient from some of my hair products as well SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.5 Retinol Night Cream : I applied this on my neck just to test, the texture was felt nice and didn’t irritate my skin at all
Heard of Propylene Glycol yet？
ACNE. PIMPLES.OILY SKIN. Propylene glycol is commonly used in skin care products. It has the effect of moisturizing, lubricating and promoting absorption on the skin. It is slightly sticky when used on the face. Although propylene glycol can be used in skin care products and has certain skin care efficacy, its main component is alcohol, which will cause certain irritation to the skin if it is used for a long time. Moreover, it cannot be used in high concentration, which will cause skin allergy and other skin problems. In addition, do not use skin care products containing propylene glycol for sensitive skin. Let me list three main shortcomings. 1. Irritant: some people will have subjective burning, tingling and itching when they use it. 2. Defatting: propylene glycol has strong permeability and strong solubility. Excessive use may cause harm to skin. 3. Irritating dermatitis: propylene glycol is irritating to the skin and mucous. The higher the concentration is, the more irritating it is. And it is easy to cause the redness, rash, itching and rough skin. One of the products I used recently contains propylene glycol, but the concentration is very low. Generally speaking, the concentration of propylene glycol is less than 5%, which is not irritant. I checked the ingredient list of this product. Propylene glycol is used as solvent and humectant. The degree of safety is 2 (Health) - 3 (moderate). So there are still some risks. I used it for more than a month, but I didn't find any special effect. The biggest feature is that the texture is very sticky, as same as the texture of propylene glycol. In fact, propylene glycol is gradually being eliminated. Due to the relatively cheap price, it will be inevitably used in skin care products for a future long time. Winter Routine for DRY Skin
My cheeks have been SO dry lately. It’s been a struggle to keep my sensitive combo skin hydrated with the change in weather. I’ve thus made a couple swaps from my summer routine to keep my skin moisturized and not flakey. 🌬I swapped my trusty jojoba oil in the morning for a light application of Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Cream (I use about half the amount I use at night- just enough to get an even layer) 🌬I went back the old CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser from their new CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser . Although I like the new version better, I just need every scrap of hydration I can get right now. 🌬Lastly, I recently started applying a thin layer of Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment over my cheeks at night (post on this coming soon!) In short, my routine is now: 🌤 rinse, hydrating toner, moisturizer, spf 🌙 double cleanse, moisturizer*, ointment as needed *I swap my Ceramidin for MAELOVE - Night Renewer 2x / week
HOW TO GET YOUR MAN ON A SKIN CARE ROUTINE!💞
Me being the skin care junkie that I am, my boyfriend is forced to listen to me rant about products, sales, ingredients, & my good (and bad) skin days. Eventually, I dragged him into liking it to! (kind of). I've peaked his interest...and now he understands the concept & importance of skin health. Eventually he started a routine, & now enjoys it! He has resilient, combo skin with an occasional blemish, but overall his skin is pretty good! He just needs the basics, no crazy treatments or harsh products. Just a cleanser, SPF, and moisturizer. He's been using the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser , the CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion and the CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 The cleanser isn't abrasive & stripping like his previous Neutrogena Deep Scrub! 😳 Also, the Niacinamide & Hyaluronic Acid in these reduced his pores, redness, & smoothed his skin. And now he's using SPF too!! 😆 These are fast absorbing, light-weight, quality products perfect for his skin! 💯 I promise, they're ways to get your man to start a skin care routine too, without forcing him to watch Hyram... Don't over-complicate it! 🗯 Simple is best. You don't want to overwhelm him, or make it seem long & time-consuming. Don't choose products with girly packaging! 💟 If he's into it, then go for it! But most of the time those girly, shiny products with cute names don't sound appealing to them. Especially just getting into it. He needs to realize it's about skin health!🏥 Let him know its just a way of taking care of yourself. And that makeup and skincare are different things! Because my boyfriend would mix them up all the time. I honestly don't think he knew the difference...which made him more hesitant. Do it together!👥 If you guys live together, start dedicating time in the bathroom before you go to bed to just unwind. Have him try your products, or do a skin care routine together! Make it enjoyable and a memorable experience, so it sets a positive impression. Consistently show him products and explain what they do! 🧴🧼 What peaked my boyfriends interest was me talking to him about products all the time, & what they fix! I would catch him complaining about his skin over a pimple or redness, and I would tell him about an ingredient or product that would help that issue. It intrigued him! Consider fragrance free, light-weight products that fit his skin type! ✅ The biggest complaint I hear from guys and skin care is that it feels greasy, heavy, or sticky. The purfumey smell is a big one too. So avoid those things. And make sure to talk to him about his skin type & properly match what products would be best for him! Make sure he STAYS on the routine. Remind him about it, & don't forget to compliment his skin! 💞 I still try to remind my boyfriend, but at this point he always remembers. Also, COMPLIMENT his skin!! If he's starting a routine, he wants to know you see results. He wants to look good in your eyes!

LANEIGE Lip Mask
👉🏻 If you have really dry lips, want softer lips, or love berry-scented lip balm, I definitely recommend Laneige's Lip Sleeping Mask. It's absolutely worth the money and it made a significant difference in my lips' overall moisture level and texture. 1️⃣In general, my lips are pretty hydrated. I have a pretty extensive moisturizing routine (which includes my mouth), but in colder temperatures, it feels like all my moisturizing is for nothing. I’m also pretty sensitive to fragrance—strawberries , for example, is a no-go—so I always keep this in mind when trying a new product. 2️⃣ I love the scent and feel of this mask. I’m a sucker for anything berry-scented and this product smells like a wildberry smoothie. 3️⃣ I decided to give this lip mask a try after a day when my lips felt especially parched. I applied the product before bed, and when I woke up the next morning, I was amazed at how supple my lips felt—that flaky, dry feeling had all but disappeared. 4️⃣ I found myself using it throughout the day, too. I've basically replaced my regular lip balm with it—especially on days when I’m particularly dry. 5️⃣ This product's $22 price tag would have typically scared me off, but I think it's worth it in this case. Yes, it's a little pricey for a lip balm (especially one that’s less than an ounce), but it’s tightly packed and its tub lasts a long time. LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask
Easy AM-PM Routine for you 🧴⭐️🔑
☀️ AM ☀️ 1️⃣ Cleanser : 🔑Start your hydrating skin-care routine off right with this any Face wash. It’s a non-foaming, gentle cleanser packed with ingredients like glycerin and orange oil. It’s a great option for anyone with dry and sensitive skin. 2️⃣Toner : 🔑 You should use your toner only and only after you have thoroughly cleansed your skin. Take 2-3 drops of a toner on a cotton pad and wipe it on your face. Make sure that the cotton pad does not absorb too much of the liquid and is able to transfer it to your skin. 3️⃣Antioxident Serum : 🔑 Using an antioxidant serum every morning can protect your skin from the environmental attack and slow down the process of aging. You should slather on a few drops of a good antioxidant serum right after cleaning your face and before applying moisturizer and sunscreen. 4️⃣ Eye Balm /Cream : 🔑 Use only a small amount. "When you yawn, it will push it up by the tears and when you rub your eyes it will press it in by your fingers. Make sure you leave a clear area around the eyes when applying cream and only apply to the bone area."THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream 5️⃣ Acne treatment: 🔑 it’s up to you that you want to use acne treatment at morning or no but if you have bad acne problem you can use acne cream or gel for your cure. 6️⃣ Moisturizer: 🔑There is no such thing as skin that is too hydrated, and your sunscreen should not be the stand-in for moisturizer. These two products serve vastly different purposes and are not interchangeable, no matter how moisturizing your sunscreen claims to be. 7️⃣ sunscreen: 🔑 Daily sun protection is as important as drinking water and paying your parking tickets on time, so there are zero excuses for not doing it. Use after moisture your face . 8️⃣ Makeup : 🔑 if your like makeup by profession you can do makeup after your skincare routine but I just prefer myself without makeup .HUDA BEAUTY - The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette 🌙PM🌓 1️⃣: Makeup remover : Apply an oil-based makeup remover to dry skin and massage gently until the product melts into a liquid form.GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover 2️⃣Cleanser : 🔑 No matter how dry your skin, gentle cleansing at night is essential. Makeup, sunscreen, bacteria, dead skin cells, dirt, and oil build up on your face during the day. They can work their way into your pores, causing inflammation. Wash gently without scrubbing to avoid irritating your skin. acne.org - Acne.org Cleanser YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Cleanser Refill 3️⃣:Toner 🔑 Place toner onto a cotton ball or the tips of your fingers and massage into your face, neck and décolletage in circular motion. Humphrey's - Humphrey's Witch Hazel Facial Toner 4️⃣ Serum / Treatment: 🔑 Sleeping serums offer everything you need to give your skin eight hours of rejuvenation. Massage into your face, neck and décolletage. ESTĒE LAUDER - The Night Is Yours Repair Serum + Eye Creme 5️⃣Acne treatment:🔑 use your favorite cream or gel for your acne treatment . #Rugby - Acne medication 5[products]#[FourStars] 6️⃣Moisture / Night cream : 🔑 Put a dot of product on your forehead, nose, chin and each cheek . Once the dots are on, simply massage your night cream into your skin in an upward and outwards motion. Once all of the product has been massaged into your skin. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration 7️⃣ Lip mask : 🔑 Most lip masks recommend exfoliating your lips first, especially if your lips are a bit shaggy with dry skin. You can use a lip scrub, or you can simply rub a wet washcloth over them to help remove dead skin. Dry your lips. Before applying the lip mask, your lips need to be dry.LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask

My acne journey through birth control
In my first pic that was my face before I started birth control, pretty clear, occasional pimple here and there. But then i started the pill for my terrible periods and i started breaking out like crazy. Bumps all over my forehead and chin as you can see in the second and third pic. I’ve started to update skin routine a little and the 4th pic is where i’m at now. any tips anyone has would be great! this is my skin care routine now AM CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser i started using this and i think it helped my bumps a lot. I have seen some improvement. HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray i like this product i think it helps hydrate my skin. It also helped with my oily skin too. When i run out of the spray i’m going to use the HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Toner for the hyaluronic acid. so if anyone has any experience with this product let me know! THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream Helps with my puffy eyes! Seen some improvement with my eye bags over time! CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin This is a basic moisturizer and i like it. i have oily skin and i like how lightweight it is. I also like the added ceramides for my skin barrier. PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block i think the green level sun screen makes me pretty greasy. The comfy water sunblock is way better for my oily skin, i just have to rub it in longer since it is a mineral sunscreen. PM - Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil i like this cleansing oil it gets off my sunscreen and mascara well. it doesn’t leave a greasy residue when i wash it off either. I love to try new products lol so when i finish this i might try THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm or BIODERMA - Atoderm Shower Oil(i know this says shower oil but on amazon it says cleansing oil, shower oil, many purposes and the reviews say it takes their makeup and sunscreen off really well) so once again if anyone has used these products let me know how they were! CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Pretty basic i like it. Really no complaints or anything that sticks out about this product that i LOVE LOVE. When i finish this i might try LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Purifying Foaming CleanserLet me know if anyone has used this and their experience with it! Nizoral - Anti Dandruff Shampoo i use this as a face mask for about 5 mins. i don’t use this every night, i maybe use this 2-3 times a night. Kinda burns but i feel it works DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel really just did not work on my skin, i haven’t seen much improvement because of this. i’ve been using this for 2 months THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin
I’ve seen great results with this night time routine! I have combination, acne-prone skin and am really pleased with the results of the products mentioned below!!! Order is as follows: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser this works great as my first cleanser, and melts away all my makeup and spf. You definitely have to work it into your palms for a few seconds to warm up the product for it to reach an oily consistency. Always leaves me feeling clean but moisturized. Avène - Cleanance Cleansing Gel for face and body I then go in with this cleansing gel to remove any makeup/greasy residue. It works amazing as my second cleanse and does a great job at leaving my skin clean but never stripped dry. HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray after I pat my face dry, I spray some of this on. It’s really soothing - the scent is a little strong if you’re not a fan of florals like me - it is rose water so like I kinda played myself. Works great to balance my skins PH and add moisture. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 right after using the rose water spray, while my skin is still damp, I apply HA to boost moisture retention 🤪 I would definitely recommend a patch test before using this product if you’re acne prone as I’ve heard from some people this can worsen breakouts. I personally don’t have any issue with this serum and my skin loves it! Avène - Cleanance EXPERT I highly recommend this if you’re someone who struggles with clogged pores/blackheads! I actually started using this product thanks to reviews here on cherie and it has really made a difference in my skin! Wayyy fewer blackheads and active breakouts 😭🥳 The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG this eye serum is nice and light and great for dark circles & puffiness. It’s a must for me after a night of 🥂🥂 CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin this is a great everyday moisturizer!!! Can’t recommend it enough. Non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores and it’s fragrance free - no irritation here ♡ The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalane I use this up to 3x a week to help fade scars and even the texture of my skin and I LOVE it! This is my 3rd try at incorporating a retinol into my routine and I’ve finally got it to work for me. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my face and neck. Patch test before using and make sure to up your moisture game on nights you use this. Also make sure you have a great spf on hand in the morning! Let me know if you try any of these products out and if they work for you! I’m always looking for ways to improve so feel free to leave suggestions in the comments!! Thanks a million♡♡

The Trunk 4.0🎪🐘
🎪DRUNK ELEPHANT - The Trunk 4.0 This kit comes fully stocked with everything you need for a truly complete skincare routine & a swift getaway! 🛩☁️ I wouldn’t travel right now, even if you paid me. Covid numbers aren’t going down & I take these facts very seriously. Haven’t had contact with almost anyone since March, because I do have a neurological disease that could put me at risk. I can’t tell anyone what to do... but do I urge you to consciously protect strangers while protecting yourself & your loved ones. My condition is one often referred to as an “Invisible Illness”. Many people have health conditions that others don’t outrightly see. Most people think I’m completely able-bodied unless I’m seen limping or having convulsions. I’ve only had this condition since 2014, so it’s been an adjustment & learning experience for my own prejudgements as well. 🧳My bf really likes the Monos locking suitcase & encouraged me to purchase this while the big Sephora sale was going on. He has to travel for his essential-work sometimes & this is a perfect carry-on size! It’s just as wide & deep as the ‘Monos Carry-On’ ($293) & only 4” shorter. specs: 18” high x 14” wide x 9” deep. Monos describes their Carry-On as: Designed to comply with the size restrictions of as many airlines as possible, & fits in the overhead bin of nearly any flight. So I think this slightly shorter rolling suitcase would 99% likely be accepted as a carry-on. 💚Really impressed with the quality! Its lightweight but well structured, great features/compartments + an antibacterial laundry bag. I’m totally new to Drunk Elephant, but I wanted to try their L-Ascorbic Acid serum, Glycolic Acid serum & the Babyfacial🍼🐘 I also want to start using a gentle retinol. Those 4 products alone would have been $324! With my Rouge discount: $360! Regular price is $450- You get 10 full size products, 3 minis +5 sample packets. 18 different things to try! ➖Which would you like me to review first?➖ 🐘I want to trial everything before I review! What’s In My Fridge? ❄️
Here’s a look at what I have in my fridges these days - yes, I have two because I really enjoy chilled skincare that much! A lot of people ask if there are actual skincare benefits for storing your skincare in a fridge, or if it helps preserve the shelf life of your skincare products - It is simply for aesthetic purposes. I enjoy the cooling, soothing sensation it enhances; it adds to the experience when I am applying my skincare routine. In fact, I have read blogs where dermatologists discuss how it is not necessary to store skincare in a fridge as it does not make the products any more effective than they already are. As for extending or preserving shelf life, research has shown that only a slight extension of shelf life would occur with certain ingredients like retinol, but nothing to make you stop what you’re doing & splurge if you don’t have the extra funds available. I don’t know if it’s just in my head, but I do see a difference with treating puffiness & redness when using a chilled product vs room temperature. 💙 I store a lot of my Drunk Elephant staples that I enjoy chilled, a few other moisturizers / serums & eye creams that I like chilled as well. Eye creams & eye patches are my favorite chilled as it really helps with de-puffing the eye area, especially in the morning! Let me know down below what you have in your skincare fridge! ❄️

Does hyped means good?
“Instagram Faves” I am sure I am not the only one who sometimes end up buying few products because of the hype about them on IG even tho we may not have bought them otherwise. Guilty? I know. @purito Centella sunscreen ☘️ SPF 50+ PA++++ ☘️ Contains Centella - Helps in calming the irritated skin ☘️ Good for all skin types ☘️ No Fragrance ☘️ No white Cast ☘️ Moisturizing- may be too thick for oily skin types if used over moisturizers. Can be used in place of moisturizer as well Price - $20CAD for 60ml My Experience:- > Amazing product at great price value > Moisturizing - Great for winters > Can be too thick sometimes if you are using many layers of other products underneath > Do not prefer this for hot summer days - make me sweat a lot ?? Anyone? Would I repurchase? No. I prefer my elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 sunscreen over this. I like this too but the reason it make me sweat a lot is annoying and I don’t like that. @drunkelephant C-Firma Vitamin C serum 🍊Contains L-ascorbic acid (purest form of Vit C) 🍊Helps brightening and fading dark spots 🍊 Helps fading post acne marks 🍊 Contains Antioxidants such as Ferulic acid 🍊 Fragrance free and essential oils free Price :- $115CAD for 30ml My Experience:- > I saw results after using it consistently for 2 months > Helped in fading my post acne scars > it does oxidize quickly, needs to be refrigerated > One bottle lasted me long time over 4 months > It does have tacky feeling to it, but I used it over my hyaluronic acid serum that helped to lessen the tackiness. Would I repurchase? It is an expensive product but I do see the results after using it consistently. I would consider repurchasing in future. (On sale🙃)
Let’s first start with a major component in “preventing” pigmentation which is sunscreen. It prevents photo damage that leads to brown spots and post- inflammatory hyperpigmentation. My absolute favorite sunscreen and the one I have been using personally for 10 years is elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 Retinoids- They work by increasing the rate of cell turnover. It helps to fade dark spots, acne marks, melasma, sun spots, and liver spots. Just be careful since retinoids can also cause irritation and redness, you don’t want to cause any more pigmentation to your skin. A good over the counter retinoid is DIFFERIN - 0.1% Adapalene Acne Treatment Gel Pump which once used to be a prescription, is now available over the counter. Glycolic acid- A popular ingredient used in many skincare products because it works so well at reducing discoloration, getting rid of dead skin cells, and creating new skin cells. It keeps pores clean and reduces hyperpigmentation. A favorite, super affordable, and one I also use personally is The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Be careful because it may not be suitable for all especially sensitive and darker skin types. Azelaic acid- Believed to work just as good as hydroquinone. It speeds up cell turnover and reduces inflammation. A great acid for all skin types and even safe to use during pregnancy. A great option is PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster I love adding a drop or two to my moisturizer. Vitamin c- A holy grail ingredient for many and myself. A vital component of any skincare routine. Vitamin C works a lot like retinol, inhibiting the production of melanin. Not only does it lighten dark spots, it helps to brighten your complexion. Vitamin C helps to prevent hyperpigmentation, and is most helpful when used in the AM. My absolute favorite hands down is SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum I have yet to find me a better vitamin c serum. Kojic acid- This also like retinol and vitamin c reduces the production of melanin. This ingredient is also a favorite in products because of how well it works to even skin tone, treat acne and acne marks. A favorite product SKINCEUTICALS - Phyto + Hydrating Botanical Serum With Kojic Acid Alpha Arbutin- it works by decreasing the activity of melanocytes. Alpha Arbutin is known to safely and visibly brighten skin and fade pigmentation. It reduces melanin formation, improves appearance of age spots, freckles, melasma, and post inflammatory pigmentation. An amazing and affordable product is THE inkey LIST - Alpha Arbutin Brightening Serum It is a great simple formulation, and super affordable. Incorporate one or more of these ingredients into your skincare routine to achieve great results in reducing pigmentation

My Current Morning Routine
☕️ My routines are pretty prone to changing but one constant is that I always like to focus on protecting and nourishing my skin with antioxidants and obviously a sunscreen. These are my current morning favorites: ☕️ Alta Mara Hydrating Coconut Cleanser: Just as the name suggests, it’s a lovely gentle milky cleanser. ☕️ Klairs Supple Preparation Toner: A lovely hydrating toner rich in amino acids, centella, licorice root, and hyaluronic acid. ☕️ Byroe Bitter Greens Toner Essence: If this was a little cheaper I would never be without it. This contains 22 fruit and vegetable extracts and is chock full of antioxidants making my skin super soft and glowy. ☕️ Farmacy Cheer Up Eye Cream: A lightweight whipped texture vitamin c eye cream. ☕️ Rosen Bright Citrus Serum: A very watery consistency (like actually the exact consistency of water) abscorbic acid vitamin c serum. ☕️ Mauve Fantastic Ever Youth Producer Serum: A hydrating antioxidant serum containing hyaluronic acid, sugar kelp, hemp seed extract, and orchid extract. ☕️ Sunday Riley CEO Glow: Another vitamin c but put it in an oil base with some turmeric!! I love this stuff it gives me the softest glowiest skin. ☕️ Krave Oat So Simple Water Cream: A nice hydrating lightweight moisturizer. ☕️ Purito Centella Green Level Unscented Sunscreen: Just an amazing lightweight sunscreen that’s super affordable and has a bunch of centella in it.
Here's my skincare routine for this morning - I'm keeping it gentle and hydrating as I've still got a couple of dry, sensitive patches round my eyes from drunk elephant A-Passioni sample 🙈 Serves me right for using it 2 nights running! ⭐ a.florenceskincare Hydrating Gel Cleanser - Does exactly as promised, is incredibly hydrating. I left it on as a quick mask whilst I was in the shower. Such a gorgeous texture too. ⭐ herbivore botanicals Rose Hibiscus mist - my old favourite! ⭐ a.florenceskincare Super Serum - a beautiful, light emulsion with ceramides and Vitamin C. ⭐ jordan samuel skin Hydrate serum - a light, intensely hydrating serum with Hyaluronic Acid and hexapeptides. ⭐ kate somerville skincare Goat Milk De-Puffing Eye Balm - such a gentle, cooling balm. Really unique! ⭐ a.florenceskincare Skin Rehab Light - This cream comes in two versions; Rich - for dry skin and Light - for normal / combination skin. Both versions contain an amazing cocktail of nourishing ingredients including Centella (to calm skin), Beta-Glucan (to hydrate) and Ceramides (to strengthen the skin barrier). All these are designed to heal sensitive or compromised skin. Perfect for me with my acne! The cream itself is a light lotion, that sinks into skin beautifully. Skin is visibly hydrated and plumped. It's very soothing and gentle. Not to mention it's a gorgeous pink colour! 😆 I've been using this both AM & PM since I got it on Tues (which is rare for me to use the same cream both morning & night!) and I'm loving it so far! Another winner from A.Florence! ⭐ evytechnology Daily UV Face Mousse - My favourite super light SPF!

Looking to Add AHA to my Evening Routine
My skin is famously dry and sensitive. Like, any new product needs CAREFUL consideration and research, sometimes just rinsing my face with water can cause redness and irritation. Anything I do buy needs to be introduced slowly and just a little bit at a time. I used a chemical exfoliant once and it left my skin itching like crazy, red, and drier than the Sahara, so I’ve been a user of physical exfoliants my whole life. But recently I’ve been looking for something deeper to really reset my skin without irritation and burning. I included my current routine of products I’m currently using, and my face to give you a better idea of what my skin is like. Being a dry skin type, I’m always looking for hydration, so a one-two punch of exfoliation and hydration is ideal for me! Can you help a girl out? Leave and recommendations in the comments below!

Good Morning (Afternoon or Evening) Everyone! I like to keep my skincare routine as simple as possible (though sometimes I find that really hard to do—so many amazing products to use 😅) Products Used: Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser I love this cleanser because it’s 1) affordable at only $9 and 2) so gentle and conditioning to my sensitive skin! grace & stella - Hyaluronic Acid Serum I love a serum. I recently got this in a Causebox and am trying it out as my daytime serum. Curél - Intensive Moisture Facial Cream I cant stop using this!
