My order from The Ordinary arrived , and I'm about to become the type of woman with a skincare routine.😂 The Daily Set includes the Squalene Cleanser, the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, and the Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. I also ordered the Rose Hip Oil though that's not in the picture. I just used my new set for the first time and it was very interesting! Even though it's considered a "dupe" these are some of the nicest items I've used. Due to my greasy, acne prone skin, I would beverage just use whatever cleanser was on the drug store shelf. None of these items made my skin dry or tight. I'm a little wary of the rose hip oil because I do have such oily skin, but I know I need it especially since I just turned 30!

Basic Nighttime Routine for Normal Skin
How to start a nighttime routine: These are some basic steps you could take when starting a nighttime routine. 1). Cleanser 2). Toner 3). Treatments 4). Eye cream 5). Moisturizer 6). Spot treatment It’s best practice to layer your products from lightest to heaviest/richest. I used the Marcelle micellar water to remove my makeup, then I followed with the Farmacy clean bee gentle cleanser. Next, depending on what your skin needs, this is where you apply your treatments; these can include hydrating serums, retinols, oils, peels, etc. I used TO‘s hyaluronic acid serum and then the TO’s cold pressed rosehip seed oil. It’s best to use water-based before oil-based. Then I will apply my eye cream and then my moisturizer. Lastly, you need to use a spot treatment, this is the time to do it. Cleansing your skin can be a great way to unwind at the end of the day. I personally find it really relaxing. I will only tone my face 2-3 x a week to detox/balance my skin, which I skipped tonight as I did so the previous night. Treatment is great to repair and protect your skin. The two I chose were hyaluronic acid to hydrate my skin, and the rosehip seed oil as it is a great antioxidant/fatty acid to promote cell regeneration, etc. And I always use an eye cream and face cream before bed for that extra hydration :) 1). MARCELLE - Micellar Water 2). FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser 3). The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 4). The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 5). FIRST AID BEAUTY - Eye Duty Niacinamide Brightening Eye Cream 6). Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer

Hydrating PM Routine
I don’t always use the same products since I have so many; I like to change things up. Tonight I was going for more of a hydrating routine. Step 1: I cleansed my face with the FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser This cleanser is, as the name suggests, ultra gentle and soothing. I apply this to wet skin and massage it in, ensuring I get the dirt and oil, etc. from the day off. Rinse with warm water and you’re good to go. This smells great and I’m obsessed with honey and bees so this is heaven for me. Step 2: I don’t always use a toner but tonight I felt like it. I used an old faithful: REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Toner I love this toner because it smells amazing and it gets rid of anything I may have missed while cleansing. I like using a toner when I feel like I need to exfoliate and help out my pores. I love the glow this toner gives my skin. Step 3: I can’t remember the last time I skipped out on using The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I use this every day, twice a day. AM and PM. I cannot get enough of this. I rarely have dry skin anymore because of this product. It keeps my skin so hydrated. Step 4: My other love is the The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I love the Inkey List niacinamide as well, but I felt like I should pair TO with TO. Like I said above with toning, I like to keep my pores in check and this is wonderful for doing so. It decreases their appearance and if I have a spot this clears it up so quickly! Step 5: In keeping with wanting my skin to feel extra hydrated, I went with the The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil This light-weight oil is super hydrating. It’s also a great alternative to a moisturizer but is also great to mix with a moisturizer. Whenever I use this in the PM, I wake up and my skin looks really glowy and I’m all about that. Step 6: Hydrate and moisturize your under eyes if you feel like they’re looking a little dry or dull. I love love love this eye cream: OLAY - Eyes Brightening Eye Cream It smells nice and fresh, has brightening effects, and is super moisturizing. Whenever I want to add that extra moisture under my eyes this is what I reach for. Step 7: I sometimes mix the Rose Hip Seed Oil with the The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA but tonight I decided to use these separately. I adore this moisturizer because it’s really hydrating and gentle. It’s not greasy and it doesn’t clog my pores. I don’t always use a moisturizer after using Rose Hip Seed Oil but because I wanted to really moisturize my skin, I added this. Step 8: I like to add a lip scrub on occasion and I love this honey flavoured one :) It smells great and it makes your lips feel hydrated and so soft SEPHORA COLLECTION - SEPHORA COLLECTION Lip Balm & Scrub

No more skin dryness for me with hyaluronic acid
No more skin dryness for me with hyaluronic acid
No more skin dryness for me with hyaluronic acid   I have combination skin, so certain areas of my face are always dry or excessively dry, while others are rather shinny with excess oil. So, I’m always looking for solutions that are ok for the oily areas but can offer proper levels of hydrations to the dry areas too. Over the last few years, hyaluronic acid has been advertised as the Wonder Child of the cosmetics world. A potent active ingredient that can really retain moisture and, as a result keep skin hydrated for longer. I read a lot about it in different magazines and decided to give it a try after my beautician recommended it. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Since I’ve always had a great experience with The Ordinary products, now this is my go-to solution when I want to try out something new. I’ve used different products with hyaluronic acid before, but the concentration was probably too low to really notice any changes. This serum from The Ordinary has 2% concentration and combines three types of hyaluronic acid molecules. The first thing you notice about this ultra-pure serum is the liquid, watery texture. This makes it incredibly easy for me to apply it on the face, neck and cleavage. I use the serum twice a day, in the mornings and evenings, after cleansing and before other serums or creams with a thicker consistency. I’ve started noticing the results within weeks, the skin looks definitely plumper, fuller, which is really amazing for such an affordable product. For me, it also seems to regulate my sebum production, as my face is not as oily as it used to be, but maybe this is just my experience. All in all, hyaluronic acid is definitely worth it, so I plan to use it regularly from now on and maybe associate it with other moisture retaining ingredients. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

$6.8 Vs. $ 60, The Ordinary Vs. NIOD, My Answer Is... 🤫🤫
$6.8 Vs. $ 60, The Ordinary Vs. NIOD, My Answer Is... 🤫🤫
NIOD and The Ordinary are both skincare lines of Deciem in Canada, but the price of NIOD($60) is ten times higher than that of The Ordinary($6.80). Today I'll be talking about Bio-Sodium Hyaluronate, which is also known as hyaluronic acid. And btw, I have combo skin.  I prefer the NIOD - Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex as it has a better price, texture, and effect compared withThe Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. It has a more watery texture and it's not sticky at all. It is also scent-free. • Ingredients/Effects: After applying it onto the skin, the molecules of hyaluronic acid become more stable, enabling it to stay longer in our body. Apart from the immediate moisturizing effect, it also allows the molecules to reach the bottom of the muscles to promote and maintain the synthesis of natural hyaluronic acid, achieving a long-lasting effect. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5: It has a moisturizing, sticky, gel-like, liquid texture that is scent-free. • Ingredients/Effects: It has higher requirements on the external environment compared with NIOD. This means that, if the climate is dry, your skin will also feel dry when it's applied, but if the climate is humid, your skin will feel moisturized when it's applied To sum up, if you have enough of a budget and you need a long-lasting, pure hyaluronic acid serum, choose NIOD. If you're in a humid climate and you need a basic moisturizing serum, choose The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid. Have you used any of these? Let me know😘

Acne Scars?
Acne Scars?
So I'll be honest, I'm a pharmacist not an esthetician. My knowledge of products are one dimensional and I did little research when I bought this product a year ago. When I bought this product I was looking for something more 'science' based to treat hyperpigmentation from acne scars and uneven skin textures. I was skeptical that this product would work for me after paying $25 on Amazon. I gave it a shot and applied it religiously every morning as part of my basic skincare regime. After a few months, I noticed some of the scars were lighter and began to fade. However, I feel as if I reached a plateau with the product. I do not get the same results as I was getting a year ago....which sucks. I love this product but my skin grew tolerant of it. I stopped using it for a couple of months and just started incorporating it in my regime again. I would rate it 4/5 stars because of the potential this formulation has. Me, not being a skincare guru probably just needs to learn how to apply it better....and buy it from Sephora or Ulta for $8 next time.

The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 When I say the Ordinary’s hyaluronic acid is my holy grail, I sincerely mean it. This product particularly has entirely transformed my skin into looking more healthy with a beautiful glow. Hyaluronic acid is crucial for dehydrated skin. When applied, it sinks right into the skin restoring hydration and locking in moisture. —————————————— My experience I started off with a very expensive product of hyaluronic acid that I believe played a minimal role in hydrating my skin (the Vichy 89 mineral; previously reviewed). I decided to purchase the Ordinary’s hyaluronic acid due to its magnificent price point and instantly fell in love with it. With just 1 week of using the product day and night, I watched my skin transform into healthy glowing skin —————————————— How to use? The hyaluronic acid is a gel type formula and is very lightweight that’s sinks right into the skin. Thus, it must be used in one of the first steps of any skin routine for it be effective. cleanse tone apply hyaluronic acid —————————————— Results Absolutely delivers the best results. The product promises to hydrate the skin which it does and you can definitely see it in your skin. With continuous use, you will not be disappointed! —————————————— Recommend 100% I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has dehydrated skin and is looking for an active hyaluronic acid. Not only is the product effective, but it is also extremely cost efficient ($6) for the amount of product we get. You can never go wrong with the Ordinary’s hyaluronic acid!
