Best moisturiser for sensitive & acne prone skin
I thought I’d share this for people who have the same problem as me...I have very sensitive and acne prone skin and I’ve tried a large variety of moisturisers and none of them have worked for me. They normally either cause more breakouts, clog pores or doesn’t hydrate my skin enough. Also once I started using a retinoid gel for acne my skin became more sensitive and most moisturisers didn’t work well with my skin since they contained alcohol/perfumes etc.. After doing a lot of research and testing a lot of moisturisers, I came across thisAvène - Skin Recovery Cream and this moisturiser is just perfect. It hydrates my skin, doesn’t cause breakouts, doesn’t clog my pores and works great for sensitive skin. It does not irritate my skin at all and I’ve noticed my skin looks healthier after having use this moisturiser. Also another important thing was when I used other moisturisers that contained alcohol while using retinoids it burned and irritated my skin however this moisturiser was perfect since there is no alcohol and caused no irritation at all. So if you are like me struggling to find a moisturiser for sensitive skin, acne prone skin or one for during retinoid use. This might be the moisturiser for you too :)
Papaya enzymes be giving me ✨gLaSs sKiN✨🥺✌🏻
SKIN TYPE: Always dry and sensitive due to eczema, highly allergic to dust, pollen and some fragrances😔✌🏻. Around every 2 weeks or so I get eczema flare ups using Novasone (prescribed steroid ointment) to relieve it. GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm Personally, it’s a 3.75 out of 5 due to how pricey it is ($51AUD) and the main concern for people being that it leaves residue/oily film. It has its pros and cons but I think the pros outweigh the cons if you’re willing to spend for glowing, glass skin vibes. Glow Recipe claims to “Gently slough away dead skin... remove makeup, dirt and oil... softens the skin while delivering on hydration”, and sis is delivering. Eczema means a lot of dead skin and sebum build-up giving me a lot of milia bumps, especially the flaking skin from dry patches when you attempt to exfoliate while trying not to piss it off making it angry and inflamed; this for dry skin types was perfect as a gentle oil based cleanser. While I did try using this with light and medium heavy makeup on, I found that using a lot of product to remove heavier makeup left a film residue on the skin, with warm water rinsing not completely removing the feeling of something on my face. For this I use The ORCHID Skin - Cleansing Sponge ($5AUD) as a daily gentle physical exfoliant to remove the remaining residue/makeup. This combination of oil cleanser and facial sponge exfoliation surprisingly doesn’t irritate my eczema skin thus I use this daily cleanse once in the mornings and double cleansing at night. After 1 month of daily use I saw visible effects in which there was a decrease in bumps and pimples but it was a gradual change over continuous/consistent use. I take a small amount (the surface area of pinky nail) on each cheek and massage it in on my dampened face for ~1-2minutes then rinsing off and dried with a facial sponge. My skincare routine consists of: Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gelée Milk Cleanser & GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm Avène - Hydrance AQUA-GEL & Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream For anti-itching and soothing when the skin gets fucked LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Repairing Balm or Avène - Skin Recovery Cream (only lasts ~2months using daily hence 4stars). THE VERDICT: Defo will be repurchasing due to how effective this Papaya cleansing balm has been for my skin in gently exfoliating, not drying or irritating at all for an eczema-sensitive, acne-prone skin type as well as they say it is made without fragrance but it still smells faintly of papayas🥰. HOWEVER, this is fucking expensive, there’s deffo cheaper alternatives such asheimish - Heimish All Clean Balm orThen I met you - Living Cleansing Balm I’m still repurchasing tho😔✌🏻

Avène Skin Recovery Cream Rich
Avène - Skin Recovery Cream Rich ***Update, a little goes such a long way this will last me forever so forget what I said about the price. First of let me say that this tiny tube is $35! If I wasn’t so desperate to fix my dry skin I wouldn’t have bought this, but my goodness I need all the help I can get. However, a little goes SUCH a long way that maybe this will last me for longer than I think it will. This is a very thick cream but it sinks right into the skin and feels great. Just be careful about how much you put on, the first time I used this I put too much on and it pilled on me. This is so highly moisturizing and for the first time in forever my face felt great after working all day, I’m highly impressed! I’m like 99% sure my moisture barrier is just shot from years of over scrubbing as a teen (thanks St. Ives 😭) but I’m working to build it back and I think this will really help. If you’re dry or dehydrated or have to do skin repairs this will help.
Dry Skin? Heres the products you NEED!
We all know how tough dry skin can be, as someone who used to struggle with extremely dry skin which has my moisture barrier still damaged and created hyper pigmentation in my skin, heres some products that can help heal it, as well as products that are made for dry skin. Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream This mostriuser is a thick restoring product, but is not oily or sticky at all. It minimises redness through its products and blue tint, as well as giving you a non oily glow without any break outs. Cetaphil, QV, Sukin, Cerave did not work for me when using their mostriusers. My skin was so dull and dehydrated until finding this product. Avène - Skin Recovery Cream Rich This mostriuser is a thinner mostriuser, I would reccomend this after an exfoiliater or scrub as it helps restore the damage afterwards, but not long term like the first product I mentioned. laura mercier - Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer With dry skin, its hard to find a concealer that doesnt cling to ur imperfections and flaky skin, or something that doesnt make you look cakey within one drop. This concealer is absolutely amazing for dry skin, and it makes it appear as if you arent wearing anything at all! I highly reccomend this conclear, its medium-light coverage depending on the shade you get. Heres some products that are popular BUT are not good for your skin. AT ALL! sukin - Detoxifying Facial Scrub Super Greens CLINIQUE - CLINIQUE Face Scrub for Men ST. Ives - Gentle Smoothing Oatmel Scurb & Mask ANY PHYSICAL EXFOILATER OR SCRUB (this is just a few) Scrubs are extremely damaging especially for dry skin. While the benifets of exfoilating are very promising, its way better to invest into chemical exfoiliants rather than physical. FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Concealer This concealer is popular and was my first, it is very good for normal-oily skin types but it seems to cling on to imperfections on dry skin. Ive mixed in a mostriuser into mine and its going pretty well, but its not a good concealer to start with. HOPE THIS HELPED<3
The New and the Old: Moisturizer Edition
The Old: THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer I think this would be a great moisturizer for summer, when the environment isn’t as dry and harsh. I would repurchase for sure. The simplicity of the formula made with multiple types of peptides support firming and collagen production. This moisturizer also supplements the skins moisture barrier. The New: FIRST AID BEAUTY - Skin Rescue Daily Face Cream The formulation combines Ceramides and Squalene to help hydrate and smooth skin's appearance. I’m excited to add this to my routine! I definitely think I need more hydration and I’m hoping this brings it.
I have tried many moisturizers but here are the ones I think are best for each skin type! ❤️Best for Oily Skin❤️ CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion This moisturizer is suitable for most skin types but it is great for oily skin types because it contains niacinamide which can aid in controlling the overproduction of oil. It is very moisturizing but it doesn’t make your skin look greasy. I absolutely love this moisturizer and strongly recommend it. 🧡Best for Dry Skin🧡 FIRST AID BEAUTY - FAB Pharma Arnica Relief & Rescue Mask This is technically a moisturizing mask but when my skin is feeling dry I use it as a moisturizer. Is is so soothing and has an interesting texture and smell. The product comes out of the tube blue and with an almost whipped texture. When you put it on your face it sinks in slowly if you apply it as a leave on mask, but if you rub it in it sinks in pretty quickly. I personally love the light natural scent it has (it is almost medicinal) but I realize it may be off putting to others. 💛Best for Combination Skin💛 GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream This moisturizer has niacinamide (can aid in controlling the overproduction of oil), is hydrating, and gives your skin a nice glow. At first I wasn’t a huge fan but with continued use I grew to love it! It has a light banana scent but Glow Recipe product contain extremely little fragrance. I think this would be great for combination skin as long as you don’t mind the glow. 💚Best for Sensitive Skin💚 FIRST AID BEAUTY - Skin Rescue Daily Face Cream This may be my favorite moisturizer! It is hydrating but feels very light on the skin. It sinks in quickly and has a smaller ingredient list so there isn’t a very big risk of irritation. It is very simple but in a great way! 💙Best for Normal Skin💙 FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream If you have normal skin you can use any of the moisturizers I’ve recommended, but this one is really nice, effective, and has a great formula. It is great for dry or sensitive skin as well. It makes my skin feel very hydrated and has never caused issues with my acne prone skin. 💜Honorable Mentions💜 cocokind - Matcha Face Moisturizer This moisturizer is interesting. I feel like that is the best way to put it. It is very thick but it is also mattifying. Because of this, I think it would be suitable for all skin types (including oily) if you prefer thick moisturizers. The one problem I may have with it, though, is that it may have made my milia slightly worse. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I think this is a great moisturizer but I personally prefer other ones. If you are looking for a simple moisturizer that it inexpensive and delivers great hydration, this might be a great option. Leave a comment if you have tried these or have any recommendations!

Simple Yet Soothing 💙Fave Drugstore Mositurizer
The LAST thing I needed was ANOTHER moisturizer; but with my Adapalene use I need a thick moisturizer and my Paula’s Choice moisturizers weren’t cutting it, so I headed to my local drugstore. I’ve struggled to find my favorite drugstore moisturizer. I find CeraVe - CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion not moisturizing enough. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer is moisturizing yet always pills on my face (oddly enough the SPF doesn’t one pill through!) I found LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Ultra Face Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin . Ingredient Highlights: Squalane, Shea Butter, Glycerin, and Dimethicone. Price: $29.99 Review: With such a simple, short ingredient list, this moisturizer is INCREDIBLY soothing. It’s very moisturizing but is not at all too heavy, absorbing nicely on the skin. It’s lack of fragrance is perfect for my dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin. It is PERFECT to use with retinol, as it helped my sensitive skin adjust to Differin. I do the sandwich technique, applying a thin layer before the Adapalene and a thin layer after to protect my barrier. In short, I highly recommend this moisturizer if you’re looking for a simple yet effective moisturizer.
Cyber Monday Haul 💙✨
LRP had some seriously good cyber monday deals so I stocked up on some of my must-haves #La Roche Posay - Rosaliac Micellar Cleansing Gel[products]#[FiveStars] A great first cleanse / spf remover for sensitive skin to help soothe 💙 LA ROCHE-POSAY - Rosaliac AR Intense Serious must have if you battle with redness and inflamed skin - I have been using the serum day and night and I can’t believe how much it has reduced the redness LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser A nice calming cleanser for sensitive skin, always nice to have on hand in the winter! LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Ultra Face Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin This might become my new go to PM moisturizer for the dry winters, I am super particular with texture and this one is so nice because it is light on the skin while still doing it’s job! What’s your favourite product from La Roche Posay?

My Recent empties for my Acne Prone Skin🤩
I wrote previous on my page about how I have struggled with hormonal acne breakouts since the birth of my two children. It’s been an on-going battle for the past 9 years to fix and save my skin. I feel like I have found some great products over the past 3 months and I wanted to share with you some of my recent #emties!!!! 🤩 MAELOVE - Glow Maker MaeLove is a Indy brand that I became obsessed with a few moths ago after watching YouTuber Liah Yoo (shout out💁🏻♀️) review them. Glow maker is by far my favorite Vitamin C serum. I use this in the morning after my toner and it brightens my skin and absorbs quickly with out leaving that sticky feel *that I hate *🙅🏻♀️ which a lot of other vitamin C’s that I have tried in the past leave behind. The price point is not bad either and the shipping is eco conscious and plastic free which I love. 💕 MAELOVE - NIA 10 Calming Serum Ahhhhh, this hurts my heart so bad because I love most of MaeLove’s products, but this has to be my least favorite out of the brand. I didn’t see much benefit from this product and have found other niacinamides that I like much better.. like Paula’s Choice clinical and naturium. Also, just because it didn’t work for my skin doesn’t mean that it won’t work for yours. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Adapalene Gel .01% Topical Retinoid Acne Treatment AGAINNNNN, La Roche Posay hits it out of the park for me. This retinoid treatment, which you use to need a prescription for, helped to heal my stubborn acne bumps and blackheads. It’s also at a pretty reasonable price point and you can pick it up at certain drugstores. It’s a gel consistency and I use it as a spot treatment on my breakouts. I will DEFINITELY be repurchasing this. primera - Black Seed Cold-Brew Serum I highly recommend this product as well. It goes on smooth and absorbs right in to the skin. I usually use this at night.. because I try to minimize the amount of serums I use in the morning. The reason I gave it 4 instead of five stars is because the price point. I found another serum I’m testing out right now that is slight cheaper that I will posting about soon. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Ultra Night Cream for Sensitive Skin This has to be my favorite product out of the bunch! The creamy consistency goes on my skin effortlessly. I put this on last after my Serums and I wake up to baby smooth skin. I don’t know what it is about this brand but just about every product I have purchased from them works really well with my dry acne prone skin.
Drugstore moisturizer: La Roche Posay Toleriane
I bought this after skincare Youtubers Susan Yara and Liah Yoo recommended it as a non-irritating, light drugstore moisturizer. The Toleriane line from La Roche Posay is supposed to be formulated specifically for allergy-prone and/or sensitive skin. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Ultra Night Cream for Sensitive Skin Texture - the texture of this cream is more like a gel. It’s very lightweight, but not watery. Scent - this product is scentless and does not have any essential oils. Application - the packaging of this product is really interesting. There are no preservatives, but it comes in a sterile airtight cylinder. The nozzle is a twist-top that you twist to open and close the nozzle hole. I did really like the innovative packaging and how compact the product was for travel. Results - I applied this product in the mornings as a daytime moisturizer after serums/essences and before sunscreen. From the ingredients list and reviews, I was confident that this product would be good. The ingredients of this product are amazing—the first three ingredients are water, glycerin, and Squalane—and the product also contains Niacinamide. However, it wasn’t suitable for my skin. While the product itself is quite lightweight, it doesn’t quite dry matte and leaves more of a shiny gel finish. It also was not nearly occlusive enough for me, even with a moisturizing sunscreen on top. I had to apply multiple layers throughout the day, otherwise my face would feel tight and dry after a few hours. I tried using it as an eye cream since it’s supposed to be gentle enough to use around the eyes, but started getting a bit of a red rash on my eyelids so I stopped. Maybe the Niacinamide is too strong for the skin around my eyes? Not sure. Overall thoughts - I think this could be a really great daytime moisturizer for someone with oily skin, but I can’t imagine it being suitable as a nighttime moisturizer, even for oily-skin people. The ingredients are great, but it’s just not heavy and occlusive enough to lock in the moisture for the whole night. I will not repurchase this, but for really oily skin it might be a good fit!
💓Game Changers💓 They SAVED My Extremely Dry Skin!!!
My sensitive, dry skin peels like crazy during the change of seasons. Sometimes I can't put on makeup, and even cleansing hurts a lot. After battling with this skin problem for over a month, my skin has finally stabilized. Let me share the products that I've used. Its maybe helpful for those with the same skincare concern. LA MER - LA MER The Moisturizing Soft Cream La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream works really well when my skin is unstable. It's more lightweight, and doesn't need to be emulsified before applying. It can be easily absorbed just by lightly patting it on with my fingertips. However, it only really helps maintain my skin balance. The only downside is that its sooooooo pricy 😫😫😫. So I will in introduce some affordable choices I've found. Avène - Skin Recovery Cream Rich This product can even repair peeling and flushed skin! I like how it's packaged. You squeeze the cream out so its content is not exposed to the air. It's recommended to apply it little by little so as to not apply too much, because it balls up easily. Use it continuously for a week to see your skin restored back to health. You can buy this if you are not ready to commit to the price tag of La mer. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration It's cheap and worth its price. It has a very thick texture but it soothes pain really effectively. However, it causes acne breakouts on my face, so I usually only use it when my skin peels like crazy. And I only slather the thick lay of the stuff on my face for a while and then wash it off. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream It contains oil but it doesn't feel heavy and it spreads easily. I usually use it during the day. However, it's not moisturizing enough and doesn't provide enough restorative care for dry skin so I'll use it with other products in my nighttime skincare routine. Have you ever try one of them? Share with me your experience!
LA MER-LA MER The Moisturizing Soft Cream
Guess Which One Work Best???
LA MER - LA MER Moisturizing Cream is difficult to spread and it easily pulls at the skin when applied directly onto the face. It needs to be rubbed and emulsified between your palms first. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration might appear more moisturizing, but it still needs to be emulsified between your palms before being applied onto the face. It leaves a matte finish and is not that greasy. When you wake up the next day, you'll find that it does a good job at softening, moisturizing, and repairing the skin. However, I don't recommend it for daytime use. The NIVEA Creme Japanese version has the thickest consistency of all three products and it's extremely greasy on the skin. It's not easily absorbed and, for me, I can't even use it as a moisturizer. For people with sensitive skin who want to repair the skin's barrier, consider La Mer or FAB.
LA MER-LA MER Moisturizing Cream
My Go-to Facial Moisturizers for Spring/Summer
LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Ultra Face Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin The cream texure is suitable for dry skin while the Ultra Fluide is suitable for oily skin. It feels like there's a very thin layer of oil covering my face after applying it, and my skin feels soft and comfortable after waking up the next day. When you're having skin allergies, it's best to use fewer skincare products and apply only basic moisturizing and anti-allergy products. The ingredients of this product are also very safe. It is preservative-free, fragrance-free, colorant-free, alcohol-free and lanolin-free. You can consider this product if you have seasonal allergies. Curél - Intensive Moisture Facial Cream I love how soft this product feels. After I use it at night, it doesn't make my face oily the next morning. It's very moisturizing and is definitely more suitable for summer use. Curél's ingredients are also very mild and it's unscented.
Curél-Intensive Moisture Facial Cream
Dry, irritated skin be gone!
This French skincare company specializes in products for sensitive skin. They also have a stricter set of regulations there, and which means they aren’t putting harmful chemicals in their products, the way many companies based in the US do (😭). The Rich Compensating Creme goes on very smooth. It doesn’t leave me feeling greasy or like my skin can’t breath under it. I don’t always use this year round, but currently we are using our heater more and I can wake up feeling very parched if I don’t double up on moisturizing the night before. Like all of their products, the first ingredient is Avene Thermal Spring Water, which sounds fancy and healing. The rest of the ingredients are pretty clean, although this product does contain mineral oil, which is a petroleum product which isn’t great. These products are paraben free, gluten free, non comedogenic and hypoallergenic. So if you are somebody who can’t always handle many of the oils that “clean” skincare lines use, like myself, this is a good thing for you to use when you need it. I will also say, the ingredients are so simple in this product that I get the best results with a couple drops of an AHA or BHA solution or currently Eminence Probiotic Moisturizer which I will review next. It’s not a one and done product but it’s a good moisturizing carrier when nothing else is working. Avène - Extremely Rich Compensating Cream #cheriecreator

The best sunscreen ever☀️
CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin This is cera ve’s spf 30 sunscreen. It’s a great lightweight sunscreen but can also be used as a morning moisturizer. It also has hyaluronic acid and ceramides making it a great way to help restore the skin barrier much like cera ve’s other products. It has a creamy and lightweight texture that blends in easily to your skin without leaving a significant white cast. I’ve used this for about 6 months and I love to use it along with another moisturizer in the mornings as it isn’t hydrating enough for me. I have pretty dry to normal skin so for people with oily skin just wearing this would be enough. I would recommend this because it’s one of the most affordable sunscreens I have found and it has never broken me out. And sunscreens always mess with my skin so I’m so happy this one doesn’t. It’s like $20 so for me that’s a pretty good price for something that works well. Sunscreen is a must no matter what and this ones a great option!
