worth the hype?

This exfoliant first blew up on the app TikTok from al the great reviews. I’ve heard such amazing things about this brand and product so i thought i’d try it myself. As you can see on the bottle, this product has 30% AHA which can be very dangerous to the skin if not used correctly. The most time you should use this is once a week for a max of 10 minutes, nothing more. Looking at other ingredients on the list, it is filled with great ingredients that would be very beneficial to your skin. It claims to be “an exfoliating solution to help fight visible blemishes and improve the look of skin texture and radiance” (from sephora) I have normal skin which is one of the three skin types this is made for, oily combination and normal, and honestly I haven’t seen much greatness from this product. From my personal experience it does not seem to exfoliate or help fight any acne. I do have faith in this product because the ingredients look great, i think it might just be my skin. Lots of reviews i see talk about it leaving their skin red afterwards, which i did experience as well. however, the redness went away quickly and was not there by morning. i dont this i will be personally purchasing this product again, but i am going to use the rest of it for the next month or two to see if anything changes. RockstardaughterIt’s decent. It’s my go-to at home peel. I’m an esthetician so it’s decent for OTC.

Glass Skin > Ordinary Peeling Solution
Okay so a few weeks ago I made a post on how I changed my mind on The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Originally I was ready to bring it right back after trying for weeks but apparently I was keeping it on for too long and it was just making my skin worse. For the longest time, I was thinking that my skin has been so desensitized by products that I need to wear products for double the time they suggested (with hydrating products this sometimes works) but DEFINITELY not for this one. I started wearing it for 8-9 minutes rather than 10-15 and definitely seeing more improvements so I gave it a good review, but now that PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum has come into my life, I may have once again changed my mind. This is a serum that claims to smooth your skin and even tone using peach extract, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and peptides. Below I have provided Ulta’s notes on it! RECOMMENDED FOR: • Dullness and uneven skin tone • Rough skin texture • Wrinkles, fine lines, sagging • Dehydrated skin • Redness, inflammation WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU: • Peach Extract: full of vitamins, minerals, and essential acids to help keep skin resilient • Niacinamide: helps quell inflammation, brighten and provide antioxidative benefits • Asian Mountain Yam Extract: helps to reduce flakiness • Madecassoide: helps curb inflammation and stimulate collagen production • Hyaluronic Acid Complex: blend of short-chain, medium-chain and long-chain hyaluronic acid molecules that moisturizes every layer of skin, leaving it hydrated, plumped and radiant • Peptide Complex: proprietary blend of peptides that signals collagen production, helping fill fine lines and deeply-etched wrinkles, while firming skin for a smoother, glassier appearance Verdict: After using this serum ONE TIME I noticed a DRASTIC change in my skin that I was expecting from The Ordinary Peeling Solution and didn’t get after using for almost 6 months. Slowly it started to show results, but nothing even CLOSE to Peach and Lily. With Peach and Lily, not only do I see a total lack of acne and scarring that I had before, but the redness that normally shows in my skin is almost nonexistent and my face is finally the same shade as my neck. This is definitely one of my top 5 products I’ve ever used. How I Use: Morning: Wash my face with THE BODY SHOP - Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser Top with serum and a moisturizer with sunscreenCeraVe - Hydrating Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 50 Night: Wash my face with either the tea tree cleanser or bliss - Micro Magic depending on how long I wore my Covid mask that day (Micro Magic seems to help with maskne) Saturate a cotton pad with Fourth Ray - Waterfall Gentle Toner and rub it all over, let it dry and top with CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator

THE ANSWER IS NO
LOL so I snapped this pic in the middle of using The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution and lemme tell you. That stuff BURNED! I was on an off day from adapalene and was having a particularly annoying time with the hordes of closed comedones on my chin and also had some residual flakies from the adapalene that were lingering a bit longer than I wanted. So, naturally, I washed my face with the TULA SKINCARE - Keep It Clear Acne Foam Cleanser that I’ve been using in the evenings, my first mistake. Never use this mask with ANY OTHER SENSITIZING PRODUCTS which INCLUDES SA! My next mistake was not waiting long enough (a few days) after my last application of adapalene. I believe it had been two nights since I used it last, but the skin on my chin where an active breakout was occurring was NOT the correct place to put this peel. I know better, but do not as I do, please! or you will be very regretful. As soon as I applied this product to thoroughly dried skin, my chin started burning. It stung the rest of my face but not nearly as bad as it did on my chin. I resolved to leave it on for only a few minutes because of the discomfort I was experiencing. I gently washed off the mask with lukewarm water about 4 minutes after applying. My face was pink and so smooth elsewhere, but I had visibly damaged my skin on my chin. I went into recovery mode and slathered my face in COSRX - Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence and after it sunk into my skin, applied a thick layer of FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration and hoped for the best. I woke up in flake city all over my chin/mustache/nostrils. It wasn’t red, but a lot of excess sloughing of dead skin cells was occurring. My barrier at least where my breakout under my lip is was destroyed 🥺. Since this incident (3 days ago) I’ve stuck to only cleansing at night with the TULA SKINCARE - The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser and the FAB ultra repair moisturizer. My skin has recovered, since and while my breakout is still present, I’ve noticed an improvement overall in my cheek and upper lip zits. I’m going to continue to give my skin a break by only using hydrating and nourishing products, slowly working them back into my routine and will be avoiding acids & actives especially on my chin area until it has fully recovered. I don’t necessarily think the AHA/BHA peel is a bad product, and for some people it really works wonders! I’ll echo what everybody else who loves it has to say about it: do your research, be careful not to overdo it, and DO NOT MIX any other actives in your routine when using this product ‼️ And if skincare burns 🥵 FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WASH IT OFF ! ❣️

After seeing so many raving reviews on this product, I have to say I was definitely expecting something different. This product contains AHAs and BHAs which are meant to: •AHAs (aka Alpha Hydroxy Acid) is known for its collagen production stimulation, helps with inflammation and hyper pigmentation, and how it works great with dry skin types while... •BHAs (aka Beta Hydroxy Acid ) is known for really "degunking" pores, fights against acne, and is great for all skin types, especially oily skin. It's safe to say these chemicals work wonders on our skin but should not be on our skin for any longer than 10 minutes, as warned on the packaging. If that doesn't sound scary enough, when I put this face mask on, it instantly BURNED. PAINFULLY. Y'all, when I say I have never experienced this in skincare, I mean it. I've always had sensitive skin, but nothing made my skin burn like this. Not willing to give up on this glorified product, I tried it again. It still burned my skin but less this time, as maybe my skin was getting used to such chemicals. Besides the burning, I give this product 2 stars because it did bring down a couple pimples I had at the time and I felt like my pores were so clean. BUT if you have sensitive skin, USE THIS PRODUCT WITH PRECAUTION.

I originally purchased this product because I heard it had amazing results. Unfortunately, this was not my case. I used this product in a totally of two times. By the second time I used this product it left me with a horrible chemical burn on the corner of my mouth! I was livid! The product says not to use it on broken skin or to leave it in for more than 10min, which I didn’t. Still left me a mark that I’ve been tending to with my curology formula (which has been working and love it!). It might work for others, but it was a no for me. I have sensitive, acne prone skin, I’m in my late 20’s. If you also have sensitive skin, I would suggest using it once a week only for 5min-8min anything longer could be damaging. AHA vs. BHA Let’s begin with AHA: - it is water soluble - great for drier skin types - improves collagen density - works on skins surface to exfoliate dead skin cells - one form of AHA is glycolic acid which can be found in a lot of skincare - helps treat inflammatory acne on surface of skin - also has skin hydrating properties - good for dry skin Next is BHA - oil soluble - can penetrate deep inside pores to unclog gunk - salicylic acid is the only true form of BHA - helps prevent blackheads and non-inflammatory acne - has anti-inflammatory properties - good for oily skin The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution this product has both and would be good for various skin types

A godsend for experienced skincare lovers!
A godsend for experienced skincare lovers!
a.My skin type is combination, often with hormonal acne during parts of the month. I generally have pretty balanced skin! b.This product includes 30% AHA and 2% BHA to DEEPLY exfoliate the skin, and is meant to be used one time a week to reset skin and provide a strong exfoliation, similar to the type of peel that you would receive at a spa during a facial. Because of the extremely high acid content, this is not a product for beginners and should only be used carefully for the correct amount of time for people who have experience using acids on their skin! c.The texture is a bright red gel that somewhat sinks into skin, and you can apply it with a dropper to your skin (make sure that the dropper doesn’t actually touch your skin!) The packaging is very sustainable and simple since it’s packaged in a glass bottle with a glass dropper. d.I use this product once about every two weeks at night, and leave it on for about 8 minutes, since I’ve found that’s the most that my skin can handle without it starting to burn or feel uncomfortable. After 8 minutes, I carefully wash it off with warm water and avoid the eye area. My skin doesn’t really get red or sensitive after washing it off, but I make sure to follow with a gently hydrating serum and moisturizer so that my skin doesn’t get too dry. In the morning, I liberally apply SPF since acids make you more sensitive to sunlight! My skin feels extremely smooth for the next few days and I tend to get less breakouts if I use this product consistently. e.I would recommend this product to a friend for sure! Given the amazing price point and its high level of effectiveness, I think this should be a staple in any skincare fanatic’s shelf! HOWEVER! If you’re a skincare beginner, I would definitely recommend starting with a more gentle product as there’s high risk you could hurt your skin if you don’t use this product correctly, so I give it a 4/5 stars. A little unhappy that it took me this long to try The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution . I scared myself prior to trying this due to all the reviews I have read/watched. Most have said that the burning sensation was horrid or causes chemical burns. So I was worried since my skin is sensitive and just about anything can flare up my rosacea. I was very surprised when the ‘burning sensation’ was actually just a light tingle. So all is good with this and I can’t wait to use it again. ✨ Smooth and radiant skin was achieved after one thin application. Skin did not feel dry/tight after use but it did in the morning. I followed up with my usual routine that I have found to be rather hydrating but I clearly have to up my hydration-game after using this. Congestion that I have been working so hard to clear (physical exfoliants, AHA masks, low percentage AHA toners) for almost a month just did not do the trick but this did—kinda. I still have small bumps near my jawline but they have definitely decreased in size! Update: with consistent usage, the small bumps are gone! I have tried 2-3 products from @deciem prior to this and have had mediocre results. This product (along with another one I have been testing) has made me look into other products of theirs to try. So if you have any favorites, please let me know! (Review copied from my Instagram with updates!)

I’ve been using the ordinary L
I’ve been using the ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA for a few weeks now. I used to be scared to give acids a try because I thought they would destroy my sensitive skin and basically burn it off. But I’m happy to say that I’ve been very lucky with this product as my skin has improved so much ever since I started using it. My face feels smoother (I used to have a lot of dry, rough patches), supple and I’ve been experiencing less breakouts (was not expecting this as an effect but I’m not complaining)! I think I felt some slight tingling during the first few uses but it wasn’t irritating, so I think this would be great for those who are wanting to try acids for the first time. Overall, this product is not only effective but also very affordable! Win-win! ☺️
