CUTE NAILS AT HOME 💅🏼
Hey y’all! I know quarantine has kicked everyone’s butts and left many of us at home not being able to get our nails done. It’s also left many of us bored at home trying to find a hobby to keep us busy. Sooo if you’re on a budget, wanna have cute nails and a new hobby, I recommend these press on nails! *Disclaimer these aren’t already painted nails* but that only means there’s so much room for creativity! These are called: Makartt press on nails $9.99 on Amazon 500 pc Yes that’s right! 500 nails. I’ve had these nails for YEARS and have been able to do my nails over and over again with sooo many more to go through. DETAILS: - The nails vary in size so you can find ones that fit your nails/fingers perfectly. - sizes range from 0-9 (meaning you can use different sizes for each finger) like for example my pointer finger is an 8, while my middle finger is a 5. - They are NOT clear/transparent nails. They have an off-white color natural color to them. (In my opinion, this helps with getting opaque layers of polish) - These are nails you need to glue on. (There are many options for glue, but my favorite is by Nailene) - These are COFFIN shaped nails. And the length you see in the video is the full length of them without cutting any off. (If you like longer nails, there is an option for a longer length) - OR if you wanna experiment with shaping, you can always use a nail file/drill to shape them to whatever nail shape you’d like - you paint them as you normally would any nails, there are no special steps needed. EXPERIENCE: - These typically last me a week. Depending how reckless I am with them lol AND how well you glue them. - These take practice so you learn as you go and the way you glue them determines a lot. As well as with any fake nails, how you treat them. - if you’re careful, they can last up to 2 weeks. - the only con I have for these nails is that I my experience, they tend to lose their shape the longer you have them on. When I first put them on they are very clearly coffin, as the week progressed they lose their sharpness and get rounder. - other than that, I love these nails and are great for practicing! Especially during quarantine, you can still have really cute nails!
NIGHTTIME SKINCARE ROUTINE FOR ACNE PRONE SKIN
BACKGROUND ON MY SKIN I have pretty moderate to severe acne. It fluctuates, where at times my skin is looking great and not other times. I breakout fairly often, but the intensity of the breakouts vary. I also have oily skin along with texture issues and lots of scarring. I have more scarring than active breakouts. I am still on my journey to clear skin! NOW TO THE ROUTINE: 1. Wash face with raw African Black Soap SKYORGANICS - African Black Soap Bar lather with hands and apply to face in scrubbing/circular motions, then wash off with warm water. - helps cleanse skin thoroughly and remove any dirt and bacteria. 2. Apply witch hazel as a toner DICKINSON'S - Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Alcohol Free Hydrating Toner Pour some witch hazel onto a cotton round along with 2-3 drops of tea tree oil and wipe on entire face and down to the neck. - Helps remove any leftover dirt and bacteria not washed off by the cleanser/soap. Also over time helps to even out skin tone and calm redness. 3. Apply Niacinamide serum The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Apply 3 drops onto face, rubbing in throughout entire face. (Avoiding having the dropper touch your skin) - Helps with acne and helps heal scarring and improve texture of the skin. 4. Spot treatment with tea tree oil! (The one I use is on a previous post, check there for specifics) pour a small amount (a drop or less) onto your finger and apply onto active breakouts that need more attention. - it is antibacterial (helping kill the bacteria) and can help decrease inflammation and redness. 5. Apply Vitamin E oil De La Cruz - Vitamin E Oil, 15,000 IU Pour a small amount onto the palm of your hand, rub with other hand, then apply onto face by pressing it onto the skin (rather than wiping) press the skin with each of your hands until the oil is distributed entirely. - Moisturizes skin and helps with acne scarring That’s it! That’s what I do every night. (If you want more, here’s some things I may do throughout the week, but not everyday) 1. Twice a week I apply a chemical exfoliant The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Apply around 5 drops or more if needed, onto face, rub all over and leave on for 10 min before washing off - Helps exfoliate the skin and helps improve texture and reduce scarring. 2. Apply a face mask (different ones I may use) AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay FREEMAN - Feeling Beautiful, Renewing Peel-Off Gel Mask, Cucumber FREEMAN - Sweet Tea & Lemon Peel Away Clay Mask - Qasil mask (ground Gobb tree leaves) *still testing out 3. Sugar scrub exfoliate Grab pure sugar and gently scrub onto face then wash off. - helps remove any dead skin, leaving skin soft. If you have any questions about what I use, ask below! I’m happy to help ☺️

GREAT NATURAL CLEANSER FOR ACNE
African Black Soap! I finally tried it after so long, and let me say, this soap is GREAT! As someone with really oily and acne prone skin, this is the one soap that makes my skin feel super clean. PRICE $10 (on Amazon) for 1 lb of soap. (It’s a pretty great price considering it’s a pound and lasts you pretty long, the picture I provided is how it looks with a chunk already cut off. WHAT IS AFRICAN BLACK SOAP? a moisturizing face and body cleanser made of completely organic ingredients (no chemicals) handmade in Africa, specifically Ghana. INGREDIENTS (All organic!) Palm oil, Cocoa butter, Palm Kernel Oil, Coconut oil, Unrefined Shea Butter, Plantain Skin Ash, Purified Water, Natural Vitamin E, Aloe, and Natural Sodium. BENEFITS? Promotes an even skin tone Reduces inflammation Promotes skin clarity Deeply cleanses skin *SOME NOTES BEFORE USING It clearly doesn’t look like your usual bar of soap, but don’t be alarmed! It looks that way because it’s ORGANIC. It is also HANDMADE. So it looks this way on purpose and any “African black soap” that doesn’t look similar to this one, is FAKE. (A smooth and uniformly black soap is a fake version ) The smell is unique, not necessarily sweet but slightly strong. (A very earthy smell) Do a patch test first! (As in test it on a section of your skin first, like your arm) Just to make sure it doesn’t irritate your skin, since it’s strong It’s always recommended to start slowly and build up gradually! (As in keep the soap on your skin for 5 seconds then wash off, for your first time.) THEN after seeing how your skin reacts, gradually increase the time until your skin is used to it and can handle it for however long you typically wash your face/skin for. Be cautious! Since it has plantain skin ash, sometimes small bead-like pieces come off of the soap while you’re scrubbing. So don’t scrub aggressively and you’ll be fine. MY EXPERIENCE I love this soap! It definitely cleanses your skin. I used it as a face wash and my face felt so soft immediately after washing it. (And it feels like this every single time!) I have tried using it on the rest of my body and have had no issues! My skin always feels clean. Many say it helps clear acne and after having used it for about a month now, I haven’t noticed any change in my acne. BUT I’m still hopeful as it does clean my face very well. It gives that squeaky clean feel, which I enjoy because it makes me feel like the dirt is washed off. This soap has made my skin feel the cleanest it’s ever felt. It lasts a LONG TIME. (Only need the tiniest amount to suds up and cover your face! be careful if you have cuts on your fingers or open acne because it can burn! I use this soap daily! unless I used a strong face mask prior (then I skip using that soap and use a more gentle cleanser) It makes your skin feel tight (at least for me) and sometimes dry, so I always moisturize after. (As you always should) Try it! (:
BEST DRUGSTORE MASCARA
So I’ve tried many different mascaras. And although some were okay, I ALWAYS go back to this one. And I highly recommend you trying this one too! MAYBELLINE - Volum' Express The Rocket Mascara *The price should be around $7-8 - If you guys like long, voluminous lashes, without the clumpy look, this is the one! Idk about you guys, but I’m not a huge fan of spider lashes, I love a kinda natural look, but I love for them to look really long and voluminous. The way this wand is made, the lashes basically separate themselves as you apply the mascara! No need to separate each lash, unless you want to! - Don’t get me wrong, I still always use an extra spoolie in order to make my lashes as separate as possible, buuuut I actually use an old mascara wand from this specific mascara to separe my lashes. (I just washed the old mascara off and use it to brush my lashes out). And that’s how you know I LOVE this mascara. The fact that I use the mascara itself and still kept the wand from an old tube to brush my lashes even more. - This is not only the best mascara but by far my favorite wand ever. I always get compliments on my lashes bc of this mascara! It really makes your eyelashes pop! My routine: (Not that there’s really all that much of a routine with mascara but just in case you’d like to know) start by curling your eyelashes with an eyelash curler (i use the one by Revlon) hold the curler at the very base of your lashes and hold it there for around 5-10 sec after letting go, to increase separation of lashes, you can go in with a clean/dry spoolie (no mascara on) and brush it through your lashes to ensure they’re all separated before application. then go in! open the tube and wipe any excess mascara on the wand, onto the rim of the bottle (that’s only if there’s too much on the wand) apply it from the base of your lashes and slowly start wiggling the wand while you move up on your lashes to ensure the mascara coats each of them. (Wiggle it till you reach the end of your lashes) don’t forget your inner and outer lashes as well! if you still want more length and volume, you can apply mascara from the BACK of your lashes brush from the back and move the wand upwards and coat the lashes even further. Grab that dry spoolie again and brush through your lashes until they separate. if you lost any curl during application, you can recurl your lashes from the base. (but i don’t recommend this step unless you are VERY careful and not heavy handed with it because some people have had horror stories from doing this) I only sometimes do this if I want extra curl, but I’m always extremely careful and only LIGHTLY curl it at the base. And that’s it! Yup! I only use ONE coat of this mascara! Hope you guys give this one a try, it is truly MY FAV!

WHICH IS BETTER??
A battle between witch hazels. Dickinson’s and Thayers seem to be the most popular brands of witch hazel and I always wondered which was better for my acne prone skin. After trying it out, I found the answer! But first let’s compare the two: PRICE DICKINSON’S: $5 (at target, but price may differ at other places) -16 fl oz bottle THAYERS: $11 (at target, but price may differ at other places) - 12 fl oz bottle CLAIMS DICKINSON’S: gently cleanses/ conditions pores to maintain clear, smooth and balanced skin, without overdrying. + fragrance free. THAYERS: pore constrictor, antiseptic, astringent, clears pores, cleans skin, and prevents breakouts. + alcohol free and rose scented ✅ PROS AND CONS ❌ *in my opinion* DICKINSON’S ✅PROS: - helps remove leftover makeup and dirt not washed off by usual daily cleanser - helps even out tone of skin - helps calm overall redness of face - can use morning and night for deeper cleansing - the bottle is huge! So it lasts a while - cheaper price for more product ❌CONS: - says fragrance free but still had a scent and not a very pleasant one (Definitely a smell you get use to over time, but initially, doesn’t smell good. Over time, it’s not as bad) - Contains some alcohol (if you know about skincare, you know alcohol is typically an ingredient to avoid, since it could lead to overdrying the skin) THAYERS ✅PROS: - smells amazing! (It’s basically rose water so smells exactly like roses) - has a refreshing feel after applying - feels nice to apply under makeup/ before application of makeup - great as a facial spray, especially after applying makeup - can use morning and night - alcohol free ❌CONS: - isn’t very good at taking off leftover makeup and dirt - face doesn’t necessarily feel extra clean after using on skin - didn’t seem to even out skin tone - didn’t calm redness - bottle is much smaller - costs more for less product ——————————————————————————— So is it clear which is the winner?: DICKINSON’S! My experience: Since I have oily, acne prone skin, I needed something that was going to help with all the damage the acne had done. Already being on my 4th or 5th bottle now, I can say I love this witch hazel! After having severe acne on my face, my skin was naturally red. After applying this daily morning and night, I noticed a HUGE difference in the appearance of my skin. The redness went away almost completely over time. And my skin tone evened out. It removes leftover impurities for sure. And the proof is seen on cotton pads after applying it. The smell used to bother me, but you get used to it over time. If it does bother you, there is another version by Dickinson’s that is infused with rose water and smells much better. (It is the one I am currently using) The rose water version is also alcohol free, so that is a plus. I use this version as a facial spray as well. But the alcohol in the original doesn’t bother my skin, since I’m naturally oily. I RECOMMEND !
Best cheap pimple patches!
Okay to be honest these are the only pimple patches I’ve tried, buuut hear me out. Seeing that these were the cheapest I had ever seen them sell for, I had to try them and let me tell you, they work great! PRICE $2 (at Walmart, but price may differ in different places) * on Amazon they cost a bit more, but the pack comes with more patches. * This pack specifically comes with 36 patches (which cost me $2, other packs come with 72 so those are more expensive but still pretty cheap) WHAT IS IT? they’re pimple patches, like tiny bandaids for your breakouts. non-medicated: meaning they do not involve any sort of medicine (as other patches do) hydrocolloid spot treatment: meaning it is a specific type of material that provides an insulating healing environment, where it protects the wound (in this case the pimple) from any bacteria coming in contact with it. They come in 2 sizes (small and large) to choose depending on the size of the breakout. WHAT DOES IT DO? (It says on the picture but I’ll explain again) protects from dirt and bacteria that can cause infection (it’s like a bandaid) Helps reduce any redness or inflammation caused by the breakout absorbs any impurities (it literally sucks all the bad stuff out of your pimple just by having it on) + added bonus it’s not super noticeable! (it’s slightly transparent, so it blends easily with the skin and sometimes you forget it’s even there) HOW I USE IT (and my experience) *i was skeptical about these because they’re non-medicated thinking it wouldn’t help my stubborn acne, but it did! just peel it off the plastic (I try to avoid touching the part that’s going on my skin), put on pimple, leave overnight, and remove in the morning. I apply a patch typically on a whitehead. (It works PERFECTLY for white heads, since it draws out the white head/all the gunk that’s inside) *the white head is GONE by the morning and the pimple is much smaller. Then I just let it finish healing on it’s own. If my pimple is extra stubborn I leave it on for longer or you can always apply another one like the instructions suggest to) For cyst-like acne that don’t form whiteheads, it is much harder for it to pull out impurities. (Given the breakout is underneath the skin, and not on the surface) It helps to decrease the size of the pimple if it is not a whitehead, but it is much more stubborn and doesn’t always work as quickly as it does for whiteheads. *i usually have to put in double work for these type of breakouts. So you can apply a different patch after you’ve worn one for too long (directions suggest after 6-8 hrs). It helps slightly to decrease the size more than anything but still pulls out impurities like excess oil. *disclaimer: from my experience, these don’t magically get rid of the pimple overnight (I feel like that’s unrealistic) but it does help a lot in speeding up the healing process and helps to get rid of the pimple in all. I recommend!
The BEST lash serum!!!
#Evenvy - Lash Conditionner[products]#[FiveStars] is amazing!! i started using it in July. Within a couple weeks I could see a difference but around the 3 month mark (the photos) was the biggest difference! I get so many compliments on my lashes now and always get asked if they’re extension! When I put mascara on I use a super thin coat of either use the #EvEnvy - Fiber Mascara[products]#[FourStars] or the L'ORÉAL - Telescopic Mascara just to thicken my lashes a bit. The before photo is super old from like 2015- it’s the only photo of my lashes i could find and I have 3 coats of my fave mascara back then.
🩰 OPI Dulce de Leche is Stunning
So I wrote about my experience painting on press-on nails in my last 🖤Almond black nails 🖤 post. I used the same acrylics, base coat, and top coat in that post as in this image. If you like the look of this almond-shaped base, I suggest you read that post! Otherwise, I’m gonna review 2 other products today! OPI Dulce de Leche and Sally Hansen Dry & Go Drops. 🥮 OPI - OPI Nail Lacquer 🍑 COLOR- I found this color through reddit, where it got a lot of love from Laqueristas. It seemed to be universally loved for all skin tones. It looks nude or even cool toned on lighter skin. On darker skin tones, it tends to look like a warmer pink I’m hesitant to call it a universally flattering color because there’s a wide range of skin tones. But since it looks cool or warm depending on the setting, I think it’s a good first nude pink to test if you’re new to polish One more thing: on myself, it looks a LOT better on long nails than short nails. On short nails, it somehow looked too dull and blended in. Longer nails suited it more for me to make it look elegant and bring out its rosy tones. 🏹 PERFORMANCE- This color went on opaque in 1 coat! To be fair, I laid my first coat on thick. But there’s no need for a third coat to get vivid color at all It went on even, not patchy or runny. Plus, the brush is a little flat to help even application. I liked it more than the thin brush a lot of Essie products give you to work with (though I think they’re changing the packaging.) It didn’t take too long to dry- maybe an hour, though I got help from the next product. 🌊 Sally Hansen - Salon Manicure Dry & Go Drops I put two drops of this product on each nail. It covered it completely. In between coats, I didn’t wait more than a minute for each to dry. This solution feels like it creates a protective thin coat around your nail. 5 minutes after application, you can safely (though gently) touch the surface of your nails together without damage. What you CANT do though is put a lot of pressure on it. That will cause a thick smudge that looks like beautiful ocean ripples of dulce de leche. But the product is worth it because it protects your nails from surface level nicks. 🍯 WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT ? 🍯 Yes, 100%. I’ve used patchy, uneven nude polishes before. This is not one of them. I can see why it’s a classic. Almond shaped nails are my favorite because of how elegant they look, but this color would also look STUNNING on ballerina shaped nails. 🩰

How I grow my natural nails
**Note that my nails used to be frail, brittle old things that could NEVER know length due to nail extensions! Just last year, I was so in love with getting nail extensions. The length, the designs, the colors—I did not go one week without my bare nails showing for most of 2019! Then last September, I decided my nails needed a break (and I needed to save some money!) so I started to rehab my nails! Rehabbing my nail beds The first thing to do is get your nail beds free from any damage from nail extensions. This takes some time! I let my nails grow but I always cut away when it started to get length. I was going off of the theory with hair; cutting it makes it grow faster. It worked because by November, my nail beds were healthy! Supplement growth To help my nails grow healthily, I took my biotin supplements. I love the nature bounty one bc it’s yummy mostly 😂 NATURE'S BOUNTY - Optimal Solutions Hair, Skin and Nails Gummies Prevent breakage A big reason my nails always broke was because I never protected them! So I started brushing them with .INC. - Back to Life Recovery Treatment & Base Coat which really kept it strong and healthy as it grew. I also stayed super conscious of doing things that would break my nails, like washing dishes, moving big items, etc. I live alone so I have to do all these things myself, therefore I wear gloves when doing dishes and try to avoid grabbing things with too much nail. Not sure how to explain the last one😬

Stop wasting money on acne patches!!!
Acne patches like Starface (which retail for $15) and Peace Out ($19) are SO OVERPRICED. The mark up on those little things is insane! So let’s talk Hydrocolloid bandages! They’re the generic version of acne patches. Same technology, same result, a fraction of the price! These bandages pull out the moisture from a blemish overnight and it works like magic! I have been getting breakouts on my chin recently (probably from mask wearing) and I had a MASSIVE underground zit that I couldn’t pop and just wouldn’t go away. I applied a dot of Clearasil - Rapid Rescue Spot Treatment Cream and then cut a small square piece of hydrocolloid bandage. After one night I noticed a difference and in 3 nights the spot was GONE! I also love that you can see the bandage turn white as it pulls out the fluid. So stop wasting your money and go grab Band-aid brand hydrocolloid bandages for $3.99 instead! Comment below if you have tried it or are going to!! #Band-Aid - Band-Aid Brand Hydro Seal Hydrocolloid Bandages[products]#[FiveStars] #cheriecreator

How to grow strong nails 💪🏾
📅 november 2020. after seeing @annkrisha's post on cherie, i decided to follow her steps. you can see my progress in a month. 👝 so I bought the gummies and a nail treatment. 🍓 the gummies NATURE'S BOUNTY - Optimal Solutions Hair, Skin and Nails Gummies i took the strawberry cream flavour, because it's made with biotin. 🍊 there's an orange flavor but it's made with collagen. 👩🏾🔬 but what is biotin? it's a water- soluble B vitamin that helps your body convert food into energy. in German, it is called H vitamin. the H stands for "Haar und Haut" which means "hair and skin". 💉 you take 2 gummies per day, a few hours before or after another medication to avoid interactions. they help to support: nail health maintain health of normal hair and skin maintain good health (wound healing, metabolism...). 🤔 in the past, I tried the Centrum - Multi+ Beauty Gummies Natural Cherry, Berry & Orange but I didn't like the taste. I did see some improvement in the nail area though. 💗 the nail treatment: Sally Hansen - Nail Rehab it is an intensive strengthening treatment. "the jasmin, rose and vitamin E formula helps strengthen and protect your nails, instantly fill in ridges and hide imperfections". 🔎 you apply 1 or 2 coats, as needed. after a week, remove and re-apply. you can also use it as a base coat. 🤗 my nails are growing strong! i recommend this. thx for reading! #CheriePartner

Nail Care Hacks EVERYONE Should Know
This quarantine is too long. When was the last time you got your manicure? It’s actually very easy to do it at home by yourself and it safes a lot of $$$. Here is my at home STEP BY STEP Manicure Prep. The perfect nails are always based on the perfect nail foundation. All the tools are accessible at drugstore or even dollar stores. You want to start with a clean nail first. Once the nails are completely clean. You can roughly cut or buff the edges. The next step is to push the cuticles back and trim them. I like to use this metal tool. And a cuticle trimmer. REVLON - Expert Nail Groomer REVLON - Gold Series Titanium Toenail Nipper *TIP* One thing to notice here is that you want to make sure that your nails are damp. So either soak them in warm water like what they did in the salon. And apply a layer of softener. picture polish - Cuticle Wipe Out Or you can also do it when you get out of the shower when you cuticles are nice and soft. That’s the easiest time to trim your cuticles. I normally use this push to gently push back my cuticles you may not be able to get a clean nail right away but we will buff leftover off later so no worries at this point. This process should not hurt at all. If you find this process painful, you are either pushing your cuticles too far they are not soft enough. Then you can use your trim to cut off those pieces. Next you’ll need a nail file. Im using a medium 100/180 grit. ORLY - Black Board Medium 180 Grit Based on your preferences on nail shapes ( square or round) to smooth up the edges by filing back and forth. I personally like square but rounded on the edges. When you are working on the side, make sure they are evenly filed and symmetric. Try to avoid sharp edges. And stop when you are happy with the shape and length. Next tool I will be using is a Buffing Block with 3 different grid sides. I would buff off the sharp edges and buff on the top to smooth it out. This step also helps the paint stay longer. Finish up by brushing off the dust.
