The Best Sunscreen for all seasons!
Why you should use sunscreen every day in every season? Here are the top 4 reasons why: 1. It protects you form UV rays which are very harmful to your skin. Sunscreen blocks these rays and reduces the chances of sunburn. Eve when is cold and rainy these rays make it to the ground. Snow reflects UV rays and makes them more intense. 2. It lowers your skin cancer risk: by applying sunscreen you cut your risk of contracting skin cancer in half. 3. It prevents premature aging of the skin: sun damage from UV rays causes photodown of the skin and breakdown of collagen, which contributes to lines, sagging, wrinkles and discoloration . 4. It helps maintain an even skin tone: sunscreen prevents discoloration and dark spots from sun damage. Depending of your skin type, you should use a sunscreen of at least 15 every day. If you have sensitive skin like my, I highly recommend the VICHY - Aqualia Thermal UV Defense Moisturizer Sunscreen SPF 30

why spf is important 🧴
sunscreen is an easily skipped step. it should be the last product you put on your face, close to the time of sun exposure. and honestly, i forget to put it on too. but here are a few reminders of why you should use it each day. 1) it protects your skin from the harsh uv rays 2) it lowers your skin cancer risk 3) it prevents early maturing of the skin (wrinkles) 4) helps maintain even skin tone 5) helps prevent discoloration and dark spots 6) helps maintain a smother skin tone 7) keeps your skin healthy overall i hope this helps! don’t forget your sunscreen!!!
Myth or Fact? You Don’t Need Sunscreen If You Stay Indoors.
While most of us are working from home now more than ever with no intentions of going outside, do we still need to wear sunscreen? The answer is if we are sitting in a room with windows, we definitely need to! As the name suggests, a sunscreen “screens” and shield our face against harmful rays from the sun. Growing up in Southeast Asia, it has always been ingrained in me of the benefits and importance of sunscreen. I am shocked that some of my friends do not apply sunscreen if they are staying indoors or if the moisturizer they are using already contains SPF. Using a sunscreen adds an effective and high power protection to minimize various skin issues such as hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, and premature aging, and to help prevent skin cancer. Even on cloudy days, up to 80% of the sun’s harmful UV rays can penetrate our skin.Snow, sand, and water also increase the need for sunscreen because they reflect the sun’s rays. You DO need to Wear Sunscreen Indoors! The sun emits two types of damaging sun rays: long-ray UVA and short-ray UVB. Most windows block UVB rays, so sunburns won’t happen if you are sitting by the window all day. But UVA rays can still penetrate through windows. UVA rays cause more concern because they degrade skin collagen the most readily and increases the risk for skin cancer. As most of us face a computer screen or mobile device practically all day long, we are also exposed to blue light. Neither a UVA or UVB light, blue light contains high energy and comes from the sun as well as TV screens, smartphones, computers, and fluorescence light. Too much blue light can affect our sleep by suppressing the secretion of melatonin, which cause skin pigmentation and wrinkles. It also helps generate free radicals which kill collagen and damage skin. So what should you do? Always remember to add apply sunscreen at the end of your morning skincare routine, and apply it few times throughout the day, depending on how much sun exposure you’ll be getting. Go for a sunscreen with broad spectrum protection, which shields both UVA and UVB rays. You can also note the letter PA with anywhere from one to four plus signs noted after. The higher the plus signs, the higher its efficacy towards UVA protection. To guard against blue light, sunscreens containing a mineral blocker ingredient, like zinc oxide, paired with an additional antioxidant serums will help. Recommendations for Combination Skin: · Murad - City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 / PA++++: luxurious 100% mineral SPF shields skin from UVA and UVB as well as blue light, pollution and infrared radiation as claimed on the product website. Soft peach tint also helps color correct to boost radiance. · Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 55: Non-comedogenic and non-greasy formula with Helioplex Technology to offer superior broad spectrum protection from UVA and UVB rays. Perfect for daily use.

Elta md sunscreen🧴
This product is a sunscreen with spf 46 and can be used as a daily sunscreen. The product is specifically formulated for skin types prone to hyperpigmentation and roscea. It has a creamy texture that’s slightly more liquidy than a typically sunscreen. It works as a physical sunscreen and even though it’s a white color if you fully rub it in it won’t leave a white cast. I wanted to try it because I struggle with hyperpigmentation and when I saw a sunscreen formulated for this I had to try it! I have used it daily for a few months now and have really been loving it. It does the job by protecting me from the sun and never has broken me out. I think my hyperpigmentation has overall reduced and my skin feels calmer and less irritated. I would recommend this to others because sunscreen is essential no matter what and this a great option because it works and even has added ingredients for the perfect sun protection. The spf 46 sunscreen that I got in $28 which is a decent price especially considering the quantity you get! elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46

I am in love!
We’ve all been there, looking for the perfect sunscreen. The kind that isn’t heavy or greasy and doesn’t have that powdery white tint that makes you end up looking like you’re going for the Goth Lite look. I think I may have just found the sunscreen that does it all! MISSHA - Missha All-around Safe Block Essence Sun Milk Essence Sun Milk by Missha is a Korean sunscreen that goes on like a fluid and dries light and airy. It feels almost like a very light moisturizer on application, and then dries to the touch. Previously, I used to use Dr Dennis Gross - Dark Spot Sun Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 but I found that Sephora has stopped carrying it. ☹️ Because I know that Korean skincare is years ahead of us here in the West, I decided to go for a Korean brand. After going through many reviews online that claimed Missha Essence to be superior, I ended up giving it a try and I’m glad I did. Bonus: this one is cheaper than the one I used to use before 😊

Easiest way to prevent photoaging - sunscreen
My favorite elta md Best and easiest way to prevent photoaging? It’s sunscreen :) I personally like physical sunscreen - which means it should have following ingredients listed as first 2 ingredients : ✅zinc oxid✅titanium dioxide. Why you ask- 1. Acts as “shield” to block the UV rays. 2. Less irritating to sensitive skin. 3. Works right away- you don’t need to wait for it to get absorbed before you can expose skin to sunlight. 4. Zinc oxide has shown superior in preventing photoaging Reference: Microfine zinc oxide is a superior sunscreen ingredient to microfine titanium dioxide Sheldon R Pinnell, David Fairhurst, Robert Gillies, Mark A Mitchnick, Nikiforos Kollias Dermatologic surgery 26 (4), 309-314, 2000 And always remember it is the easiest way to prevent photoaging - means preventing premature aging, sunspots and wrinkles!! :)
