Just a makeup loving nerd.
Purple eye look using indie makeup brand 💜✨
I recently bought the Menagerie. - Violet Ink Micro Palette because I’m a sucker (get it?!) for purple eyeshadows, and the one duo-chrome shade really spoke to me. Plus the packaging is SUPER adorable! 🐙 So far the eyeshadows perform really well; pigmented, blendable and are pretty unique shades. They do kick up quite a bit but that honestly doesn’t bother me. I think this eye look turned out pretty good! What are some indie makeup brands you love?

Fresh and glowy stack✨
A few products that I’ve been enjoying that give my skin a glow! The florence by mills - Zero Chill Face Mist is one of my favorite facial sprays because it’s so refreshing with a fine mist. Plus it’s pretty affordable! I’ve been using the CLEAN SKIN CLUB - Vitamin C Brightening Booster and I like the consistency of this serum for the AM. It’s light and sinks in into the skin well. Two highlighters that give a purple sheen to the skin that I’ve been liking are the Milk MAKEUP - Holographic Stick and LUNA by LUNA - LUNA by LUNA Highlighter . The Holographic Stick doesn’t move my foundation when applied by tapping with my fingers on my cheekbones, and gives a nice sheen. The Luna highlighter is such a unique, cool-toned shade; like a purple taupe and I love it!

Some old, some new favorites 🌈
New: I’ve been trying out the Fourth Ray - Reveal 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid Serum and I LOVE it! My skin is soooo soft and smooth afterwards. The Milk MAKEUP - Glow Oil Lip + Cheek delivers a subtle, glowy color to your cheeks and lips and blends pretty well. The only thing is that it stains my sponges so that’s a bummer. Recently picked up the FARMACY - Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream with Acerola Cherrybut I haven’t tried it yet, trying to get through my other eye cream before I open this baby. Old faves: Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer my go to moisturizer for oily, acne prone skin. I’ve bought soooo many over the years! PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer is my favorite bronzer, I think ever? It’s just so blendable, buildable and the perfect bronze for my skin tone.

Perfect blush for Fall 🍁🍂
The BECCA - BECCA Luminous Blush in Wild Honey is one of my favorites for a neutral, coppery, warm shade. Perfect for Fall! This BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Opal is a nice golden highlighter which pairs nicely with this blush. The ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Prism Eyeshadow Palette is such an underrated palette. It has a unique color story, which can be challenging to pull together cohesive looks at times. But I love it!

My new favorite mask for breakouts 🌎✨
I’ve fallen in love with Rosen products, and I recently picked up the ROSEN SKINCARE - Earth Mask to try. I have oily/acne-prone skin and I look for masks that not only helps suck out the gunk but soothe my skin without being harsh (looking at you Aztec clay mask 🥴). So far I looove this one! It smells like eucalyptus, and has a cooling/tingling sensation. It dries down like a traditional clay mask but in a gentle way, and doesn’t require a lot of scrubbing. Plus, my skin almost feels moisturized afterwards and not dry at all! I totally recommend this mask!

Moon prism power, makeup!
I’m so glad I finally got a hold of the COLOURPOP - Sailor Moon x Colourpop Pressed Powder Blushto go along with my COLOURPOP - Sailor Moon x Pretty Guardian Eyeshadow Palette because I’m obsessed with Sailor Moon.🌙 I haven’t tested it yet but it looks like a pretty, matte light pink blush. 💕 However, Colourpop just leaves a bad taste in mouth with how they handled this collab. They KNEW how popular this was and still had it sell out with in minutes during THREE restocks. Not okay. Where you able to pick anything up from this collab?

Why I love lactic acid?
I’ve had acne for the majority of my life, and my skin turns extremely sensitive when seasons change—poor me. So I have to choose the right ingredients and products to get rid of acne while not damaging my skin. Life is so hard.😭😭 My friends always recommend products with acid to kill acne. But I never give it a go because I feel it’ll be terrible for my sensitive skin. Until last month, my friend gave me a small sample of REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask, told me it’s sensitive skin-friendly cuz the lactic acid inside works mildly to kill the acne and smooth skin. It sounds good, and why not have a try? It can’t be worse for me if it doesn’t work like others. 🤷🏼♀️ I did feel burning on my face when I first used this mask, and I felt so worried the nightmare came again! Guess what! It didn’t damage my skin. The magic came after washing off the mask, my skin looked super bright and shining, and my pores were gone! Huge surprises!!! Yeaaa! I can’t tell you how much I love using this mask. Today, I can proudly tell you, I seldom have acne, and my sensitive skin is well protected!! I’ve dreamed of this for so long. There is no doubt that lactic acid has become one of my favorite skincare ingredients. If you have the same problem as me, REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal MaskIS WHAT YOU NEED! I strongly recommend it!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thank me later, ladies.

IDewCare Berry Melting Balm
Double cleansing has changed the game, but finding a first cleanse oil/balm can be hard sometimes. This one has me pleased, but it isn’t my favorite. It takes off *almost* all my makeup, I had a hard time getting black eyeliner to come off. It emulsifies nicely, smells AMAZING (like blueberries), and washes off without an issue. So again, fall backs for me are the hard time with dark eye makeup, and it also makes me eyes super blurry. I hate when cleansing balms do that, so while this one is in rotation I will be using micellar water on my eyes from now on. Have you tried? I DEW CARE - Berry Melting Makeup Remover Balm

herbivore emerald cbd serum for redness
my skin has been stressed lately. it’s midterms/finals season, and i’ve been plagued by pimples, dullness, and redness. luckily for me, i bought this in a sephora favorites kit, and this is the perfect serum for those issues. 𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚐𝚎𝚝𝚜: redness, dryness, uneven texture and dullness 𝚙𝚛𝚒𝚌𝚎: $58 at sephora 𝚛𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠: i never thought i would love cbd skincare like i love this product. it’s a lightweight, typical serum and it absorbs rather quickly without leaving my skin greasy. i’ve used it once daily for about a week now, and already i’m noticing less redness with my skincare routine and a healthier, more polished “glow from within.” perhaps my only concern would be the smell — it does have a very trace amount of THC (about 0.3%) but it does make it smell slightly like marijuana. the scent doesn’t bother me, but if that’s not your thing this product wouldn’t be for you. other than that, i’d definitely recommend it. i love herbivore, and they can be on the pricey side, but i think this serum is entirely worth it. 𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚊𝚕 𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐: HERBIVORE - Emerald Deep Moisture Glow Oil

REN Perfect Canvas Clean Primer
REN’s Perfect Canvas Clear Primer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ . . . REN sent me this product to review and I’m obsessed! I was originally a little turned off because it smells like baby powder but the days that I wear more make up I noticed it going on smoothly and lasting longer by the end of the day. Plus, it’s a clean product that uses recyclable containers! . . . It's formulated with natural bio-actives, including: probiotics to help lock in moisture, blue agave to help smooth skin and minimize the appearance of pores and alpha-glucans to help keep skin looking healthy.
