❄️ Winter Skin Care Tips
❄️ Winter Skin Care Tips
Winter is a tuff time on our skin. I suffer from roseca, eczema and in winter months my skin tends to be super dry. Here are some tips that I use to keep my skin hydrated and healthy during these months. Winter Skin Care Tips~ Sunscreen- Even though it’s not summer you still need sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful uv rays. If your looking for a good sunscreen I recommend Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Humidifier~ The rising thermostat indoors causes dry air that sucks the moisture right out of your body. My. dermatologist recommended that I Use A humidifier in my bedroom in, to help keep my skin hydrated. I keep my humidifier on my bed side table aimed towards my face as I sleep. It has really help keep my skin hydrated all year long especially in the cold months. 🚨 Tip~ If you get a humidifier get one that you can add scent pads too. You can get vics vapor rub scent pads that help with your sinus or essential oil pads. You can get a Humidifier can Off amazon starting. at $19.99 Drink Up~ We tend to loose moisture more often during the winter months. In the summer I’m super active and I drink on a minimum of 4-5 bottles of water. In the winter months I’m just not as thirsty and find I find my myself drinking less. I use crystal light lemonade packs in my water. Limit Shower Time~ It may be tempting to take a long, steamy shower, but your skin will be much better served with a 5- to 10-minute lukewarm shower (or bath), as the AAD suggests. Hot water dries out your skin by stripping it of its natural oils. Blot your skin dry and apply a thick moisturizer within a few minutes after bathing to seal the water into the skin. This is the one Tip that is hard for me to follow. I Love a hot shower after being out in the cold. Dress Smart~ when heading outside, Make sure you bundle up and Protect your skin from the elements by wearing gear like scarfs, hats and gloves. Avoid materials that might irritate the skin. If you feel itchy under your favorite wool sweater wear a thin, breathable shirt underneath, or switch to a different material like fleece. Modify Your Skin Care Rountine~The key to having healthy and glowing winter skin is using mild skin care products. Choose cleansers that contain moisturizers to avoid stripping your skin of its natural moisture barrier. I use a cream-based cleansers, and apply toners and astringents sparingly during the winter, if at all. Many astringents contain alcohol, which can further dry your skin. When your skin is dry and itchy, the AAD recommends you stop using products that contain alcohol and fragrances in order to help skin retain its natural oils. At night, use a richer moisturizer on your face. Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40

Natural Soap
Natural Soap
If you’ve seen my posts you know I to support the small business Community especially during these times. I got this Peppermint/eucalyptus scented Shea butter soap from Hazelwood Soap Company in waynesville Nc. They are a family owned business operating since 2004. They hand make all their products and use all natural ingredients and essential oils for the scents. Their line includes s handcrafted soaps, body washes, scrubs, shampoos and hand soap and more What I love~ Great Lather Moisturizing Gentle Enough For all skin types Handmade & Natural 🔑Key Ingredients~ Coconut oil~ Is a natural Moisturizer leaving the skin soft, smooth and hydrated. Shea butter~ is also full vitamins E, F and A also linolenic, palmitic, oleic, and stearic acids. These acids protect your skin from drying out and helps the skin produce its own natural collagen. Olive Oil~Can Relieve eczema and psoriasis. Leaves your skin feeling hydrated and soft. 💭My Thoughts~ I have suffered with dry skin and eczema for years. I would by all types of soaps that claimed they were for sensitive skin. A lot of them ended up stripping my skin’s natural oils and making my skin even dryer. I even started buying soap online from lush and having it shipped. Lush’s soaps were great but were expensive for 3 oz cost $8 or more and for me you had to add shipping to that cost. I found hazelwood soap Company about 5 years ago and have been a loyal customer since. Their Shea butter soap line is amazing and has been a skin saver for me. My skin feels clean, soft and smoother after using their soap and smells heavenly. The pepermint eucalyptus soap is a perfect scent for the holiday. Their line of soaps have over 15 natural scents to choose from and are only $8 for 6 ozs. I would recommend this soap to anyone but especially if you have psoriasis or eczema. 5/5 ⭐️ #Hazelwood soap comapy - Shea butter soap[products]#[FiveStars]

❄️ Winter Lotion only $8.00
I got this in a Cherie’s Creators box, it came just in time for the winter months. What I love ❤️- Only $8 or for a better deal purchase there trio of hydrating lotions for only $25.00 Intense moisture Not greasy or sticky Cruelty Free Paraben & Mineral Oil Free Donates 1% of sales to non-profit organizations for woman. White Willow Bark~ Provides gentle exfoliation And helps alleviate conditions like eczema and psoriasis Papaya~Very hydrating and has anti-aging properties Scent~All of flamingo’s line of lotions has a signature scent of vetiver, bergamot, jasmine, lavender, and Asian pear. I love the scent, it is fresh, clean, with a light woodsy smell to it. I think it’s perfect for men or woman. My husband loves using it. 💭My Thoughts~ I have been using this for a couple weeks now and my skin has been loving it. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy or sticky. My skin feels instantly hydrated, soft after applying and smelling amazing. It claims 24 hour hydration, but I suffer with eczema & tend to be super dry during this time of year. So I have been applying in the morning & have to reapply it again In the evening time to get the best hydration for my skin type. I personally go through lotions like water, and that can become quite expensive. So I absolutely love that you get a high end quality lotion for only $8. I definitely would recommend this to anyone especially if you have have sensitive skin and/or dealing with eczema. 5/5 ⭐️ flamingo - flamingo Daily Moisturizing Lotion

Lavender Sugar Scrub
Lavender Sugar Scrub
I love supporting small businesses. I’ve posted before about Willow Hill Soap Company, They’re out of Asheville, N.C. They are small but ship their products all over, they make handcrafted scrubs, soaps, candles and more. This is a soap based sugar scrub that cleanses the excess dirt and oils from your skin, while the sugar goes to work to exfoliate the rough and dead skin cells from your skins surface. What I Love ❤️ ~ Paraben, phthalate and SLS Free Locally sourced Ingredients For all Skin Types Handcrafted, Hand-measured and hand-poured Woman Owned 🔑Key Ingredients~ Sucrose~ fructose and glucose are all natural and have hygroscopic properties, meaning they attract and retain moisture. It acts as a natural exfoliator, and helps to restore balance of the skins natural oils. Shea Butter~ With a high concentration of fatty acids and vitamins makes Shea butter is a ideal ingredient for softening your skin. Lavender Oil~ adds a calm relaxing scent to your scrub. 🧼 Use~ Rub in Circular motion until the sugar dissolves. I have seen reviews where people actually use this on their face. I would not recommend this for your face, I think it would be too abrasive. 💭My thoughts~ I have been using this scrub for a few weeks now and I’m in love. This scrub is amazing it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. It’s perfect for the winter months. The texture is lush, thick but creamy. You just need a small amount it really spreads out. Lavender is one of my favorite scents and this scrub’s smell is heavenly, it relaxes your senses and lingers on your skin after use. This scrub costs $15.00 for 6oz or $20 for 10oz but I think it’s definitely worth the price. I would recommend this product to anybody especially for people suffering from eczema or that sensitive skin. 5/5 ⭐️ #Willow Hill Soap Company - Whipped Sugar Scrub[products]#[FiveStars]

Brassy Hair Shampoo for only $9.99
My hair is Fine and straight. I’m naturally dark brown, but I have been dying my hair blonde with highlights and light brown low lights for years. I have used a lot of different types of purple shampoos that help keep the brassiness/ redness down, but I have never been A fan of them. The ones I have tried the consistency was so thick that it was hard to work through my hair. They ended up leaving my hair unmanageable and hard to comb through even after a deep conditioning. I saw this shampoo and conditioner at cvs for bogo and I love OGX shampoos so I decided to give it a try. 🔑Key ingredients~ 𝐿𝑎𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑡 𝑂𝑖𝑙~ Can promote hair growth, Helps prevent dandruff and scalp inflammation. 🍋𝐿𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑛 𝐹𝑟𝑢𝑖𝑡 𝑂𝑖𝑙~is known for its clean, citrus scent and antiseptic properties. It has a worldwide cult-like fan club thanks to its ability to increase shine, softness, and silkiness What I love 💕 ~ Sulfate Free Contains UVA/UVB sun-filters The consistency is gel like, but not thick. It’s easy to work through hair and has a great lather. It helps remove yellow brassiness while boosting brilliant white blonde tones with radiance Leaves the Hair Feeling soft. It’s only $9.99 💭My Thoughts~I have been using this shampoo and conditioner for over a month now and have almost finished the bottles. Oh how I miss Holiday nails from a professional☃
Oh how I miss Holiday nails from a professional☃
We’ll see what I can cook up this year for some xmas nails without my beloved nail tech, Tony. 🎄I should probably just order some festive press-ons, but I’ve taken a break on those because my puppy is too rough still. My cuticles are suffering though! I have a bad cuticle biting habit when I don’t have fake nails. ⛄️🚨🦌I only have a couple examples I could find, but they usually involved a lot of glitter! These little gingerbread men, Rudolph & snowman on baby blue from last year were a personal favorite❄️ ❤️ I take Christmas nails very seriously, like more serious than my birthday lol. My birthday is in January & since I’m so obsessed with Christmas I usually just keep those vibes going as long as I can! 🍦This is also an example of my super basic easy makeup I used to do (nothin fancy, just to not look sick & tired- I have CRPS) Chanel concealer under the eyes & pressed powder. Dior brow powder & nude shimmer eyeshadow. Also Dior Addict stellar shine lipstick in a shade called DiorMoon. Givenchy PhenomenEyes mascara & Armani fluid sheer in 8 on my cheeks. Done ✅ Do you guys like to do holiday themed nails? Please post them or your holiday nail throwbacks! I wanna seee!🎁 *These are obviously acrylic nails if anyone was curious. I do not have the willpower to grow my natural nails this long & strong... if I had one Christmas wish 🙏🏼 💚🎁PS- if you’re looking for unique press on nails in long lengths, I can’t recommend ‘Hawt Nailz’ more. They’re a black woman owned business & the quality & artistry is beyondddd. Also makes a great gift because the sets include 20 nails so it’s so easy to size for anyone! PPS- another great gift for someone in a cold climate this winter is a cozy down jacket! The blue one I’m wearing here is from a black owned brand from the Netherlands that I can’t recommend enough! The company is called Daily Paper. Such high quality for the prices! Tons of variations.

LOOK AT ALL THE GUNK
LOOK AT ALL THE GUNK
I used a PEACE OUT - Peace Out Pores strip on my nose for the first time and I'm so impressed! Those dots are oil that was soaked up by the strips! Also, when I took this off, my blackhesds and any whiteheads were ready to pop. Like they rose up and the pore strips made them ready. I had a developing pimple (the big white blob) on my nostril and it wasn't even ready before I used this for four hours. Now it's almost there, and usually pimples aren't ready for almost half a day. I'm amazed and all the oil is gone (I didn't wash my face beforehand) plus it isn't sticky - the strips really stay on well and it didn't leave any residue which is amazing unlike the Biore ones which leave stuff behind. Overall, worth it and I'm definitely going to use these when my oil is out of control. ** I had this strip on for four hours, which is the minimum, as the packaging says for 4-6 hrs

Cul Skincare Challenge with Dr. Cula
Cul Skincare Challenge with Dr. Cula
Hi guys! I am Dr. Cula, a dermatology resident in New York. I am here to debunk all skincare myths but more importantly, here to foster excellent skincare practices. November is National Healthy Skin Month! So, I thought to kick off my page with a skincare challenge to promote healthy skincare habits among Cherie users. Join me on this 6 week skincare challenge for healthy and more beautiful skin. The challenge consists of three main steps to be done in the morning and evening (swipe to see). I added the HA serum to the evening regimen to minimize skin irritation and dryness from the retinoid, which can be exacerbated by the colder weather. So, why join me on this skincare challenge?...Because: 🥰 skincare routine is self-care. 👯‍♀️To slow down aging, consistent use of retinoids will help take the years off 💅🏽Healthy, glowy skin is a great confidence booster! How do you monitor your progress? A picture if worth a thousand words!! 🤳Take a selfie at day 0, week 3 and week 6 and share your progress on cherie! 🤳Use the Topic Tag 'Cul Skincare Challenge' and tag me so I can be sure to check out your posts! Pro tips: consistency is key to reaping the benefits. Your skin may get worse before it gets better if you are new to retinoids. Key is not to stop and to keep pushing through it! Here is my current skincare regimen: 🔆Morning Cerave cream-foam cleaser Skinceuticals vitamin C serum ISDIN Eryfotona Ageless ultralight tinted mineral sunscreen 🛌 Night Cerave cream-foam cleaser Vichy Mineral 89 hayluronic acid serum Altreno (my retinoid) LaRoche Posay Toleriane double repair face moisturizer It is OK to use any brand you want, as long as they are non-comedogenic. Good luck! And keep me posted with any questions/concerns!! Stay tuned as I will be reviewing the products that I use currently in my regimen. IG: @theculderm
