CHANGE YOUR LOOK WITH PONYTAIL EXTENSIONS✨
I have long hair (down to my waist line) and it obviously keeps its length when I wear my hair down but with pony tails, it loses half its length. I like the trend of an extra long ponytail so I looked into ordering one. The added length also lengthens out my round face. Product: zala - Human Ponytail Clip in Hair Extensions

Drastic hair changes in the past 4 years 😍
Before putting together these side by side photos I had no idea my hair had changed so much in the past 4 years! My face shape is kind of like an oval! With my face shape, I have preferred long hair of all one length! This can help me hide the widest part of my face and make it look slimmer! Plus it’s super easy to style and I can just let it air dry to a wave or curl it for a special night!
Guys, I cannot express how much I love doing red hair. Hands down, it’s my favorite color to make. I WISH I could pull off a brilliant copper red...sadly..I’m too pink for that. Hope has extremely thick hair with a LOT of body and we live in the South. It’s too hot for that! So, we always shave it down in an undercut with a longer top, so that she has the flexibility to wear it straight or wavy. The result is this edgy but feminine textured cut that brings out her eyes and personality. For a little added pop, I foiled in a few highlights before applying her color. By using a 20 volume developer it helps lift her natural hair so that it can become a brighter red tone. Formula: Lightener = BlondMe 9+ with 7 volume developer Color = Goldwell Topchic 7KG + 20 volume + Yellow, Red, and Orange Goldwell Pure Pigment drops Toner = Goldwell Elumen KK@all
SLIM A ROUND FACE WITH THIS SIMPLE TRICK
An oval face is deemed as the most attractive face shape. Most fall under this category, but if you don’t, do not worry because there are plenty of ways to create the illusion of having one. I achieved a slimmer looking face without having to get a hair cut. In the photo on the left, my hair is pulled back showcasing the round contours of my face. When I want to look more “attractive”, I wear my hair down which creates this slimmer illusion of an oval face in the right photo. The long length of my hair draws the eyes down also taking away from my rounded face. With that being said, haircuts above the jawline can accentuate round features so opt for anything shorter than a long bob. I would love to know what ways you style your hair to take away from a rounded face? ⬇️⬇️
my hair length journey! (17 inches later)
which hair length is best for me? I think this is a question with a lot of right answers! I have had long hair my entire life. I always believed that my face looked best with hair down my back. I don’t remember what caused that narrative, but my beauty and self esteem was definitely braided into the length of my hair. I think it was seen as a sign of femininity, health, and beauty in my family. after I had my daughter last year, my hair grew about 6 inches in a couple months. I think it was the surge of hormones my body was receiving. suddenly my hair was past my back! I would sit on it all the time, even in a ponytail. I found myself wondering ‘what if I cut it all off?’ this thought had NEVER occurred to me, but suddenly I couldn’t shake it. I started googling shorter hairstyles and looking for inspiration on pinterest. soon, I had an appointment booked. 17 (donated) inches later, I had the shortest hair I’ve ever seen myself with. and surprisingly—I LOVED it. no tears, no great emotions, just, “oh. it looks great!” I was surprised how much younger I looked, and how much friendlier and approachable it made me seem. I had always associated long hair with youth, but something about this length really freshened up my look. styling and washing is SO much easier now. I’m still learning what styles look best with this new haircut, but I’m enjoying the journey so much. if you’re thinking of changing your hair length I suggest, 1. researching looks 2. talking to your hair stylist 3. trusting the process remember, hair grows back! so have fun!!
Hair parts for face shapes
Ive been seeing posts like this alot lately, and have always heard about certain styles etc for certain face shapes. I personally never understood it to be honest, I’m one to experiment with hairstyles (when I get my hair done, I rarely do my own hair 😅) and usually am happy with the results. If I’m not happy with a certain look, I attribute it to my hair type- thin, flat, oily, weird baby hairs and cow-licks, rather than my face shape (oval?). Here for example, you can see how my face shape kind of changes with the parts that I make, but I dont think any one look is more flattering than another, I think they all work for me, and my go-to part (lately its been middle part) os decided purely on mood. But if you think one part looks better than another, please let me know, I’m honestly curious. I’m not sure how beneficial this post was, but I think the bottom line I’m trying to get at is- experiment with hairstyles, dont be afraid to try a style that you’re interested in simply because you heard its not recommended for your face shape. I think all beautiful hairstyles should look good on everyone!
Which hair length is best for me? 💖
*Disclaimer: I know I look like 4 different people in the photos LOL but these pics have been taken throughout the past 4 years. I’ve gone through several hair lengths, styles and color! (Even my makeup looks so different!!!) I’ve never been super committed to one style, length or color of hair so I’ve experimented a lot. Here are a few examples of me with different lengths and styles of hair. Honestly, I enjoyed every single length because change always feels nice once I’ve had a certain length and color for a while. Currently, my hair is at a medium length and looking back at my short, choppy hair, I really miss it! It looks perfect for these hot, summer months and my hair is definitely looking a bit tired at the ends so a cut would be perfect. What do you think? Should I chop my hair or keep it at its long length?

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
