Do you always blow out your curly or wavy hair? I do 🙋🏼‍♀️. I like to describe my hair as wavy. Not cute wavy but frizzy, cotton ball-texture wavy. Here is my quick fire way to blow dry your hair smooth and get it to last using ONLY ONE PRODUCT! Woo hoo! ✨THE PRODUCT✨ Aveda’s Smooth Infusion glossing straightener! You can get away with using only this because it helps straighten the hair, adds shine and protects the hair from heat damage/humidity using organic aloe, maize and guar bean. The consistency is somewhere between a gel and cream. It has an earthy, natural signature Aveda scent (think citrusy, floral) and retails for $26. ✨HOW I USE IT✨
I start with towel dried hair and put a *dime* size amount of the glossing straightener in my hand and work through my mids and ends. Make sure to evenly disperse this product throughout hair with your fingers, it is a little bit thicker. Also a little bit goes a long way, you can use too much so be careful and stick to the dime size!
Rough dry your hair using fingers until hair is 60-70% dry making sure the airflow from your blow dryer is going down the hair shaft. No need for a brush yet!
Section your hair using duck bill clips into 3 sections. Crown area, middle, and nape area.
Use medium size round brush to smooth out hair section by section. Make sure you have tension while using the round brush, the tension will be what really helps to smooth out the hair. Make sure hair is 100% dry in each section before moving to the next
Use a flat iron to touch anything up and you are done!

They Saved My Coarse Hair! 👍👏
They Saved My Coarse Hair! 👍👏
Coarse hair seems to be a common problem among many people, yet, having smooth and luscious hair is desired by most. Nowadays, there are many products on the market that can help us treat coarse hair, and I’ll be introducing a hair essence and heat protectant that will achieve just that! My Hair Type: I have to admit that I brought this problem to myself. My hair used to be smooth and healthy, however, I was into dying my hair in various bright colors that involved many times of bleaching, which ultimately damaged my hair, almost beyond repair. For a while, my hair was coarse on the part that has been bleached and endless split ends followed. My hair became extremely weak and prone to breakage. On top of those problems, I have oily hair roots but dry ends. Product 1: Heat Protectant - Tresemme RP7 Pre-Styling Spray $3.59 / 300 ml This is such an affordable product that should be a staple item in everyone’s hair care collection. One cause for coarse hair could be too much heat on the hair. When we blow dry too closely to our hair or at a temperature that’s too high, or style our hair with a straightener or curler, our hair could be damaged and dry, thus, becoming coarse. This is where heat Protectant is important. I love the packaging because it is a spray-on product, which makes application very easy, you simply spray onto dry or wet hair before blow-drying or styling. The scent is very mild and makes the hair smell nice. The texture also feels lightweight and coats the hair nicely. I noticed that my hair became smooth and shiny right after application, and over months of usage, my hair felt stronger, and there are less split ends and less tangles. One thing I would note is to avoid applying onto the scalp because it can make the hair oily and flat. Product 2: Hair Essence - Pantene Ultimate 10 BB Creme for Hair $4.95 / 135 ml We’ve all heard of bb cream for the face, which is a product that is supposed to benefit the skin in multiple ways. In this case, this product is a bb cream for hair. It is a multi-tasking leave on treatment. It truly lives up to its name, because it really moisturized, detangled and defrizzed my hair. It can be applied onto dry or wet hair, at day or night. For me, I like to apply this before bedtime. I would dispense two pumps into my hair and apply it evenly on my hair, except for the scalp. I would notice a huge difference the next day, where my hair feels extremely smooth and silky, and all of the coarseness would be gone. The packaging is nice and convenient, the price is very affordable, and most of all, I love the scent. It smells like perfume for the hair. I absolutely adore this product and would highly recommend this to my friends and family. I have emptied at least three bottles of this, so I encourage you to give this a try too!

caring for straight(ish) hair
caring for straight(ish) hair
Today I want to talk about how I’ve learned to care for my hair, which isn’t stick straight but usually isn’t *super* wavy either. It can also get pretty oily in the summer; I have oily skin on my face, and the two typically go together. First, I tend to wash my hair every day. I know some people are very against this, but it’s what works for me! Since my hair is pretty straight and thin, it tends to get weighed down with product and I hate the feeling of sleeping on it. So I wash it every night. When my hair is wet, I comb out any tangles with a wide-toothed comb. I’ve found this results in way less breakage than if I comb or brush my hair when it’s dry. I use a wooden comb that was a gift, so I’m unsure of what brand it is, but there are lots of great wide-toothed combs out there. I rarely blow dry my hair. I used to blow dry it every day in high school so it would be stick straight, but thankfully that’s not the look anymore 🙃 It’s straight enough without subjecting it to unnecessary heat every day, and heat also makes hair brittle and more prone to breakage unless you use proper heat protectant products. If I do blow dry my hair, I use amika: - Brooklyn Bombshell Blowout Spray to protect from heat and add extra volume and shine. I’ve reviewed this before, but just to recap: I love it! A little goes a long way to add just the right amount of volume to my hair. I’ll be honest: I haven’t been styling my hair much at all since I’ve been working from home since March 😬 Most days it’s just a scrunchie ponytail for me. I’ll occasionally add some Batiste - Batiste Dry Shampoo or SACHAJUAN - Dark Volume Powder to add some volume to my roots—both of these are great for making my roots look lifted, and I’m recommend them to anyone with straight hair in need of a little volume and texture.

Curly Hairstyle Routine
Curly Hairstyle Routine
For reference, I have type 3A curls and thin hair! This before picture is how my hair looks after going to the beach and after not washing it for 3 days. This is my routine for prepping my hair for any type of activity immediately after I wash it. I’ve already provided information on the shampoo and conditioner that I use, so be sure to check that post and the curly hair tips posts for further details that will help during the washing process. When I’m done with my hair washing, I proceed by adding the aussie - Miracle Curls with Coconut Oil Paraben Free Detangling Milk Treatment . For a more thorough review on that product, please take a look at my previous posts. Following this, I proceed to by brushing my hair with Wet brush - Original Detangler . This is a MUST is you have curly hair and want to avoid losing excess hair. Plus, it is SUPER CHEAP. The Intelliflex Bristles are firm yet soft and covered with SofTips. The bristles are firm enough to pull through the tangles, yet they’re soft enough not to get caught and rip through the hair. It has helped me reduce the amount of time when it comes to detangling and the amount of pain I used to go through. Just remember to always start from the tips and work your way to the top when brushing. I then proceed by wrapping my hair with a cotton t-shirt to help lock the moisture. Depending on how my day goes, I sometimes leave it longer, but generally I leave it on for 20-30 minutes. Then I proceed with the actual hairstyling using a diffuser. CONAIR - InfinitiPRO 1875 Watt AC Pro Hair Dryer Rose Gold Using this hair dryer has accelerated and simplified my hairstyle process! It is pretty affordable and has both ceramic and ionic technology. Ceramic technology is what releases non-damaging infrared heat to your hair, while ionic technology works by using electrons to break the water molecules and, thus, allows the hair to dry faster and more hydrated while reducing frizz. In addition to this, it has a cool setting AND cold setting, which are the ones that I use when I’m styling. DON’T DRY USING THE WARM OR HOT SETTINGS! While this hair dryer does a GREAT job at preventing damage with its technology, hair styling regularly with warm or hot settings diminish the levels of moisture that your hair is able to retain, so you wan’t to avoid that as much as possible. It also comes with a diffuser, so you don’t have to buy one. I finish by adding hairspray. aussie - Sun Touched Shine Hairspray I know many shy away from hairsprays for various reasons, but hear me out. I avoid at all costs mousse and gels, which tend to be much more harmful than hairsprays. Besides, this is ONE OF A KIND. It has UV PROTECTION, JOJOBA OIL, & SEA KELP. There’s no way that this harms your hair. Just avoid soaking your hair in it and you’ll see WONDERS! And VOILÁ! The results are clearly seen with the after picture!

Sleek+Straight; Best Styles for Oval Face Shape
Sleek+Straight; Best Styles for Oval Face Shape
My face shape has always been a cross between oval & round; I have found that one of the most flattering styles for my shape is sleek and straight. Here’s the steps I take to achieve shiny, sleek, healthy looking hair that frames my face and helps to slim down the roundness👇🏻 My hair is naturally straight and is fine in texture. While my natural colour is blonde, it is also colour-treated (bleached) throughout. 1️⃣ I started with day-old, air-dried hair; first I sprayed in the eva·nyc - Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer to protect my strands from the heat of my flat iron and prime it for styling. This spray is a very fine mist and works great to prep the hair for heat styling (my only con is that it’s very strongly perfume scented). 2️⃣ Next I ran my eva·nyc - Spectrum Far-Infrared Styling Iron through my hair, concentrating on the hair around my face to make sure it was evenly sleek and not frizzy. Personally, I only flat iron my hair from just above my ears down because I find if I flat iron the roots it leaves my hair too flat and without any volume. 3️⃣ Last, I misted on some of my KEVIN.MURPHY - Shimmer Me Blonde which is a shine-enhancing spray made for blondes, with violet-hued reflects to tone out brassiness (they have one for brunettes/redheads too!). I love this stuff, it feels nourishing but light and makes my hair shiny without being greasy. Honestly, it’s a super simple look but I always feel a little bit glam when I go for sleek + straight locks - it feels so timeless. Hope you enjoyed!!💁🏼‍♀️🤍

How to avoid greasy hair in summer? My secret is...
How to avoid greasy hair in summer? My secret is...
When it comes to summer, many girls with long hair always have oily hair trouble. As a girl who doesn't want to wash hair every day, in this post I'll share my tips for avoiding oily hair. The first thing I would recommend is a scalp scrub. KÉRASTASE - Energizing Scrub: Purifying Scrub for Oily ScalpI believe some girls may know something about scrubs. Our oily hair may come from two conditions. The first condition is that our scalp is not clean and causes our greasy hair. In different cities and work environments where the air is bad or dust is serious, it can make your scalp dirty, and regular shampoos don't work very well. Therefore, it is very necessary to use scalp scrub once or twice a week. I bought Kerastase scalp scrub from Sephora about $40. It's creamy white texture. Remember to apply a scrub and then use the shampoo. The second one that I would recommend is the Schwarzkopf - Osis+ Dust It Mattifying Powder 10g. It is not only a good thing to use in my daily life, but also a must for going out. If one day you don't want to wash your hair and it's not particularly oily. Then I highly recommend this one. Just a few seconds and a gentle pat on the scalp can make your hair less greasy. It is about $15, also available on Sephora's website. Finally, I'd like to share my summer hair style, as my hair is longer .I mostly use a headband in the summer, or a ponytail and braid. Sometimes a saucy bun, or a stewardess's hairstyle. This will not only make our hair look less oily, but also allow us to change our styles to suit our clothes.

Coarse Hair Is No Match For These Holy Grail Products
Coarse Hair Is No Match For These Holy Grail Products
Coarse hair can be ultra-difficult to keep shiny and smooth. It seems like coarse hair has a mind of its own!   My natural hair is quite curly and coarse, but it's also on the thinner side. If I don't use my holy grail hair care products, I look like a poodle. For lack of better words! The tricky thing with my hair is that while it needs a major boost of hydration, I tend to get oily roots quite fast because it's on the thinner side. Luckily, I've found some excellent products that combat my course dry strands without my roots looking like an oil slick. Products I can't live without:   1. OLAPLEX No.6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme $28 This is sulfates & paraben-free styling cream is such a hair-saver. It comes in a 3.3oz (recyclable) bottle and smells delicious. A little goes a long way; this stuff is potent. I use about a pea size amount and run it through damp hair. I use it on dry hair too after styling. I've been using it for around a year, and I'm already on my second bottle. I will repurchase it - no doubt about it! 2. OLAPLEX No.7 Bonding Oil $28 In my mind, OLAPLEX can do no wrong, so it's no wonder I'm obsessed with the bonding oil as well. The 1oz bottle comes in a small, easy to use bottle. I put about 3-4 drops in the palms of my hands and mix it with OLAPLEX No.6 and put in my dry hair. It makes my hair look shiny, feel softer, and it smells light & fresh. I'm still on my first bottle (a little goes a long way), but I know I'll be repurchasing when I finally run out.   I use this mixture (No.6 + No.7) about twice a week to keep my coarse hair feeling soft.
