From No Brows to Wow Brows
I was a victim of early 2000’s eyebrows. I would basically tweeze eyebrows off and leave my face with two of tiniest eyebrows you’ve ever seen. Luckily, the skinny eyebrow trend faded and I was able to grow back my brows. Once I finally grew all my poor little eyebrow hairs back, I had to figure out what eyebrow shape and fullness would look good on me. Since I have a longer, oval shaped face there was no need for a super high arch which would elongate my face and make me look too severe. I also felt like I needed a fuller brow that would stand out. And maybe most importantly I needed the patience to let my brows grow for a couple of months before having them done (it’s so worth it!). I don’t do my brows at home anymore because I clearly cannot be trusted with a pair of tweezers. This is what I ask for when I go get my brows threaded: 1. I asked for them to be cleaned up and then shaped into a soft arch (You can show inspiration photos as long as you’re being realistic with what can be achieved with your brows) 2. I like them to trim the tops of my brows just a little bit 3. I always have my brows tinted to make them look even fuller (brow tinting is honestly life changing and everyone can benefit from this easy service!) Do not tweeze in between your appointments this will also keep your brows full! Leave them alone!

MY BROW JOURNEY (AND GUIDE TO BROW SHAPES)
Every woman has had a bad brow phase, right? Today, Im going to show you all of mine. it can be tricky knowing which brow shape to choose, but I've found mine based on how it balances my features, taking the thickness of the brow and shape into account. In the first photo, my brows are too thin—but it was pretty common at the time since this was in 2010, the time of my high school graduation. I didn't realize they were so thin at the time, and looking back I don't think they suited me very well. The second photo is a photo of me with brows that are too heavy for my face, for comparison. I let them grow out to see if the full brow look was right for me. you can tell that my 100% natural brows are too heavy for my heart shaped face. they don't balance with my features well. The third photo is a photo of me with my brows now (and is actually a shape I've had for a long time). while brow trends come and go, IMO it's better to maintain a shape that flatters you because it will always look better than any trend that's passing through at the moment. my preferred shape is a soft arch—swipe through to see a guide of the common brow shapes and see if one of them is right for you!
MAKEUP MISTAKE: Using Eyeshadow for Eyebrows
benefit - Precisely, My Brow Pencil Waterproof Eyebrow Definer #cheriepartner Sharing my embarrassing makeup mistake I used to make! I remember in high school I used to fill my brows in with eyeshadow! I also remember it was a warm toned, slightly red shade of brown 😬 Now, I would choose a more neutral or even slightly cool toned shade. If I had to choose, I rather hse a lighter shade to fill in my brows than a darker shade. The stark dark brow looks so unnatural on me! On the left you can clearly see where I applied the eyeshadow to lengthen the tail of my brow and “block off” the front of my brow. That’s actually another mistake I used to make! Harshly blocking off the front of my brow without blending created this *YIKES* look. If you are going to use a powder to fill in your brows, make sure you use a spoolie to blend the powder softly. I now use the benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil. This shade is much better for my natural eyebrows and skin tone. I now use the spoolie it comes with the blend the pencil, focusing on the front of my brow. I stick to my natural brow shape as well! I often find that your natural eyebrow shape looks the best on you. Did you make this makeup mistake too?

Only 5 steps to get perfect eyebrows at home!
1. Determine the ideal brow shape for your face The right eyebrow shape enhances the cheekbones and makes eyes look livelier and larger. But not all eyebrow shapes are equal. However, most faces look best with a classic brow shape: which features a soft arch, medium-full brows, and a tapered end. 2. Fill in brows with a pencil to create a guideline for tweezing The basic rule for your arch is that it should line up with the outer edge of your pupil. To determine the exact places where your brows should stop and start, hold a pencil straight alongside your nose, then angle it to the outer corner of your eye. Fill in your brows using wispy and short strokes. Stay within your natural hairline and use a pencil color that is one to two shades lighter than your natural strands. 3. Brush and shape your brows Using an old toothbrush or an eyebrow brush, gently brush the brows upwards to determine your natural brow line. Using a small pair of brow scissors, trim any hairs that extend over the top of the brow line. 4. Pluck any strays with tweezers Select a pair of tweezers with a slanted or sharp-angled shape to grip hair quickly. The larger the slant of the tweezers, the more hairs you can grasp at once. Don't' over tweeze: If you do, you'll look surprised all the time until your brows grow back in. 5. Fill in with powder and set with a spoolie brush Depositing strategic strokes of color makes your brows look lush and more defined. Using a brow pomade or a brow powder, and an angled brush, fill in the bare areas using tiny strokes. Run a spoolie brush through your hairs to fill in gaps and distribute the product evenly. Sweep on a clear or pigmented brow gel to set.

Following the brushed-up brows trend, you can simply get it at home!
Nowadays rushed-up brows has become a trend and people are falling love with this kind of a naturally full and fluffy brow. Wherever people are posting refined selfies, you can see their delicate brushed-up brows. This has become a universal look and suits all eye and face shapes. Let’s embrace the power of brushed-up brows! The core of a brushed-up brows look lies in a full, stand-out and won’t droop, and stubborn finish. Such a brow look adds strength to the face and add instant lift to the eyes. Traditional eyebrow products such as brow pencil and brow powder alone is not enough for creating a brushed-up brow look. To help our brows standing out, I recommend you this great drugstore brow gel product— my favorite e.l.f. - Wow Brow Gel Let me show you how I get a brushed-up brow look by myself with this e.l.f wow brow gel. Step 1 To start off, carefully trim away excess brows following the way you are used to do, but don’t be too much, because we also want a thick look. Step 2 Brush up all the brows. This helps you to be able to recognize what shape you'll be working with. Step 3 Next, fill in sparse areas as much as you’d like to with any product you prefer. The color of this product should be close to your hair color. What I used for this step is usually a brow pencil. I always emphasize the end of my brows with brow pencil. Step 4 Now it’s time for e.l.f wow brow gel to complete the most important part of this look. Apply the gel to brows, starting from the inner corner and following the arch working in upward strokes. Then my brows are thicker and brushed-up. Furthermore, it stays for a day long. It is a buildable, fiber-infused brow gel which gives me a full voluminous brows. The small brush is the perfect size to dress my brows without getting the product outside. Can’t believe this perfect set brow product only costs $4!

For beginners! Simple Ways To Fill In Your Eyebrows For A Natural Appearance!
I have light eyebrows. Having a poor eyebrow wax, going tweezer happy at home, or thinning my brows can leave me with an awkward brow shape. So now I clean them up in a way that makes them appear natural by filling them in using specific techniques, tools, and colors. Today I would like to share How To FILL them Naturally! Step1 Brush Eyebrows First Before filling in your brows, use an angled brow brush (also known as a slanted liner brush) to brush your brows upwards. Step2 Select the Right Tools and Products and fill eyebrows Beginners can try the popular JAPONESQUE - Brow KitEyebrow Kit which has all the tools you need to define your eyebrows. I am usually using a powder, get a stiff angled brush. The stiff bristles of the brush are great for control when putting the product on and defining your eyebrow shape. Then I will apply a SIGMA - Prime + Control Brow Waxbrow wax to will keep your brows from smudging. Step3 Shape eyebrows When it comes to shaping your eyebrows for a naturallook, consider what would best complement your face shape. The main thing you want to do is create some shape by using small hair-like strokes. Make sure that the front of your brows aren't squared off or appear too harsh. You also don't want to overextend the tail end of your eyebrow, which can draw your face down. Finally, for a natural look, avoid an arch that is too pointy or over-exaggerated and instead focus on a simple and smooth curve.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.3 DAYS AGO
