For my first (of hopefully many) products, I wanted to create an oil that was both beautiful and functional; one where every ingredient serves a purpose and would compliment any regime! Rose glow is a lightweight, brightening facial oil made with Squalane, Vitamin C (THD Ascorbate), Abyssinian Oil, Camellia Oil, Meadowfoam Oil and lightly scented with Rose Oil. PRODUCT: DrJart Ceramidin Liquid STATUS: Good enough to get the full size 💛 PRICE: $52 CAD / $39 USD SIZE: 150 mL WHERE: Sephora For a long time I sat on the fence about whether or not I needed the Ceramidin Liquid in my routine. I think it’s clear from the photo above, I finally settled on yes. Although marketed as a toner, the consistency of the Liquid feels more serum-like to me. Sephora’s site describes it as “A lightweight moisturizing toner that leaves skin supple, moisturized, and ready to absorb” and I think that perfectly sums it up. I use this towards the beginning of my AM routine (immediately after cleansing and essences). I find it pairs particularly well with my LAA serum and, since LAA can be a bit harsh, the Ceramidin Liquid helps to neutralize some of the acidity and aids in absorption. There are a few things I don’t love... First off, the hero ingredients of the line - Ceramides - appear at the bottom of ingredient list. I also don’t love that alcohol appears relatively high up on the list. That being said, I find the Liquid very hydrating and not drying at all, even with daily use. In the pro column, the Liquid contains plenty of ingredients I do love; propanediol, glycerine, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate and a ton of plant extracts. Another big pro is that it just works well really with my skin, and that’s enough for me to ignore the negtatives..

my long-time HG cleanser! . PRODUCT: Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel STATUS: HOLY GRAIL 💖 PRICE: $37 CAD / $28 USD SIZE: 150 mL WHERE: Sephora . This is my year-round, go-to cleanser. It lathers nicely, doesn’t dry out or irritate my skin and leaves me feeling fresh and clean. I have used this cleanser consistently for years now and even have a mini size that I refill for travel. It boasts a clean ingredient list and a totally reasonable price point. I love everything about Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel!
Loving my feed’s fresh new look (pun intended 😘) PRODUCT: freshbeauty Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask STATUS: HOLY GRAIL 💖 PRICE: $43 CAD / $35 USD SIZE: 30 mL (mini size) WHERE: Sephora fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask has quickly achieved HG status in my life. I’d usually be skeptical of any product claiming instant results but this mask delivers! It requires only 10 minutes to smooth and brighten my skin. It immediately takes away any splotches or redness and leaves my face glowing! The one sticking point for me is the packaging. I generally dislike jars (especially for products claiming antioxidant benefit) so I gravitate towards smaller jars that can be used up more quickly. For this reason, when I re-purchase it will be the mini (again)! This is the only mask I take the time to use in my AM routine and, lately, I have followed it with caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum, YouthToThePeople Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream and tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. With this combo my skin is hydrated and glowy all day long!
PRODUCT: drroebucks Tama Healing Mask STATUS: Thoroughly enjoying it! PRICE: $35 CAD SIZE: 50 mL WHERE: shoppersdrugmart (Canada) . I throw *a lot* of actives at my skin, so it’s nice to take a break and use a mask that is geared towards soothing and healing. I love the clean, simplistic ingredient list; Tama contains Turmeric (likely obvious from the colour), Honey and Avocado Oil along with Kaolin (a gentle white clay), and Fractionated Coconut Oil. . I haven’t had any inflammation or irritation lately, so I have been using this mask for routine maintenance. I recently started Retinol (more on that later) so soothing and calming ingredients will help prevent those nasty little side effects that come with first time retinol use. When my cystic acne was at its worst, I would use homemade spot treatments with turmeric to help reduce inflammation and heal my skin, so I’m eager to see how this calms a breakout (although I am not eager to have a breakout to test it on). . One word of caution... this mask stains everything! So make sure you’re clear of anything white (towels, clothing, unsealed marble etc). 💛
I have mixed feelings on the ordinary... I love the simple, one or two “hero” ingredient formulas and the (unbeatable) price point, but I always feel like something is missing. Even though they make an easy addition to my stash, I don’t find myself reaching for TO products all that often. Pictured here are the only two I regularly use: Niacinamide/Zinc and HA/B5 serums... - I use the Niacinamide/Zinc serum to keep my skin clear and prevent congestion, but I find it a little soapy so it doesn’t make its way into every routine. samsaidso suggested mixing it with a cleanser; I thought that was a great idea but keep forgetting to try it out! - HA/B5 is my “hand serum” (exactly what it sounds like lol). I apply once or twice a day before cream to keep my hands looking young✋🏻

R + R Mask
I really like this Summer Friday’s Rest + Recover Mask! It’s so unique on the fact that is has exfoliating properties in it to buff away dead skin cells on your face, at the same time giving it oils to absorb. So it doesn’t dry your face out at all! My face feels really soft and smooth after using it but isn’t stripped like with a lot of other physical exfoliants. I got mine half off from Sephora, idk if I’d pay full price for it. But if it goes on sale again, I say try it out!

Post-Holiday Detox Essentials
The holidays are finally over and I’m reeling 🥴. I ate too much bad food and drank too much alcohol. My face is paying majorly for my bad mistakes. Thankfully I’ve got some products in my back pocket that really make me look and feel better than I do: VERSED - THE FIX Emergency Eye Mask this is a thick gel mask formulated with both caffeine and cucumber juice to bring some vivacity back to your under-eye area. I love the consistency, and always lather way more than necessary when I need it. It absorbs quite nicely after a few minutes and I have no problem layering concealer or other products over it. Depending on how bad the bags are it’ll seemingly reduce puffiness, but I don’t know if that’s just me wanting the product to work for me or if it actually does anything. Bonus: keep it in the fridge for that extra cool feeling ❄️. I’ll definitely repurchase when I’m done with this bad boy, solely for post-night out purposes 😉 Fourth Ray - After Hours Detox Face Oil Fourth Ray makes some lovely facial oils and After Hours is no different. It’s formulated with charcoal, salicylic acid, tea tree, and watermelon seed that absorbs excess oil and supports skin clarity. It has a slight fresh fragrance that doesn’t irritate my skin thankfully. It absorbs beautifully in a few minutes or so and leaves my skin looking hydrated and glowy. The only con to this product is the damn dropper. I hate it so much. You have to turn the bottle completely upside down and then it’ll slowly drop product into your palm. Annoying. But at least the product itself is lovely. This is my second bottle of the stuff and it’s only $10, so I will continue repurchasing for sure!! What are your detox faves?

An Affordable Your Skin But Better ✨
This was the most exciting Colourpop release in a really long time for me, and I’m so excited that I copped it! COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Tinted Moisturizer I picked up two shades because shade matching on the Internet is tough, but at $14 each it didn’t break the bank. Both shades work very well for me thankfully mostly because the formula sheers out and the coverage is so light. Colourpop has a shade matching tool on their website to help you pick your perfect match. The formula is moisturizing, but incredibly sheer. You can build it up a little bit, but it doesn’t get anywhere close to medium coverage. Definitely gives off a your natural skin but better vibes. It evens out my skin tone but doesn’t cover up most of my hyperpigmentation around my chin. Which is nothing a little concealer can’t fix. I love going in with Glossier. - Stretch Concealer , it’s basically the perfect concealer for this base! This base makes me look dewy, but not too shiny that I want to set with powder. Oily skin girls, you don’t have to shy away from this one! I’m really enjoying this base! Can’t wait to keep playing around with it. I know Colourpop has their coinciding Pretty Fresh hyaluronic concealers, but I haven’t given those a try yet. Will update!
