sydneyyHow often do you use this cleanser? Can it be used as a daily skincare routine? I'm kinda worried because some people are saying it's better do not use acid products every day.

louskinbeautyBecause it does contain glycolic acid I suggest using it 2-3 times a week. Treat it as a regular exfoliator. That is how I use it based off my skin. I wouldn’t use more than 3x.

four tips for dealing with acne prone skin ✨💆
1. WASH YOUR FACE TWICE A DAY! i know it might sound dumb but seriously, making sure that you wash your face in the morning and before you go to sleep, will help to get rid of excess oil that can cause acne. but, if you have very sensitive skin, MAKE SURE that are you being very gentle when cleansing your face and that you are using products that won’t cause any breakouts and won’t irritate your skin. 2. USE A SPOT TREATMENT!! my personal favorite spot treatment is TULA SKINCARE - Go Away Acne Spot Treatment. it is very gentle on my skin and honestly the results are AWESOME! i seriously do see a different when using this spot treatment. this product has benzoyl peroxide plus tea tree oil and probiotics. the probiotics can smoothen your face as well as the tea tree oil. 3. EXFOLIATE!! 👏 exfoliating is one of my favorite things to do because the results are amazingggg! my skin is so soft after i exfoliate. it can also help my acne prone skin too! it helps to remove any excess dead skin cells that can clog your pores and lead to breakouts. having a buildup of dead cells on your face may also make your skin look dull, flaky, or prematurely aged. my favorite product to exfoliate with is Body Merry - Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Cleanserbecause it really does help when my face is rly dry and it delivers incredible results. while a combination of kojic acid, rosehip oil, olive oil and tea tree oils works to clear out your pores, the glycolic acid in the cleanser removes the dead layer of skin on the surface of your face. the jojoba oils in this cleanser also give it plenty of moisturizing power to rehydrate severely dry skin. LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE!! 4. FACE MASKS! 🤩 face masks are WONDERFUL but you have to make sure you get ones that aren’t going to damage your skin further! avoid getting face masks that have tons of fragrances and chemicals as these can really not be good for your skin. these are some of my favorite face masks to use that can help my acne prone skin: AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing ClaySOOO this product has a ton of hype around it and i’m sure you’ve heard of it before. this mask is very strong so if you have really sensitive skin i do NOT recommend it for you. for me, this mask has helped me see some results in my acne and it’s always a fun experience. you have to mix the clay with apple cider vinegar to form a paste that you then spread across your face as you would with a regular clay mask. grace & stella - Acne Treatment Facial Sheet Masksi loveeee these masks and i have probably seen the most results from these masks! it has salicylic acid along with other acne fighting ingredients! GLAMGLOW - SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment Maskthis mud mask works wonders for my skin! it helps to remove blemishes and pesky pimples with it’s bled of 6 acids that GET THE JOB DONE! i hope these tips helped!!! ❤️
COSRX - AC Collection Calming Foam Cleanser CentellaAC-RX formula + 0.5% salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a chemical exfoliator (BHA) which helps to remove dead skin cells and helps to unclog pores. This cleanser has a creamy-like texture that is a bit thicker than my other foam cleansers. It froths up nicely so you only need a very small amount of product per use. It is very gentle and leaves my skin squeaky clean. I did not find this to be a hydrating cleanser. I have found my skin texture surprisingly smoother since introducing the COSRX AC cleanser and toner (see next post) consistently into my routine. I used to have some stubborn small bumps on my face that I could not get rid of using other chemical exfoliants. I also noticed that my pores on my nose are cleaner than before! The chemical exfoliants used in these two products worked really well for my skin. I did not experience any stinging sensation or skin irritation, as I sometimes do with when using other chemical exfoliating products. My skin has been blemish free since using these products. My would-be acne never surfaced! These products are winners in my books!

Krave Is an Amazing Brand!
Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser I highly recommend this hydrating cleanser! It's gentle but cleanses thoroughly. After using it, my skin feels refreshed and doesn't feel filmy, so it's really suitable for sensitive skin. I used to use The Ginza Lady Series Facial Cleanser and Omorovicza Cleansing Foam. However, although they cleanse well, they're irritable to areas of skin that are more fragile. Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is also very gentle, but it doesn't cleanse as thoroughly as the one by Krave. So this cleanser is really suitable for people with fragile skin and those who want a cleanser that cleanses well but doesn't irritate. Krave - Kale-Lalu-yAHA It gently resurfaces your skin with AHA. I want my exfoliator to get rid of clogged pores and prevent breakouts. The Krave Beauty exfoliator is great in getting rid of clogged pores, but the AHA in this exfoliator causes mild irritation to sensitive skin. I recommend this to those who want to start experimenting with AHA.
Cleansing is the one thing Iv done religiously since I was 13. These days I cleanse with 2 products at night and 1 in the am. My cleanser collection! What & Why: biodermauk micellar water. first thing i use every evening to take off make up. Its the best and leaves my skin looking and feeling 💯% the pink version is perfect for sensitive skin. 💦 . cleanandclear cleansing lotion for sensitive skin. Use most evenings after make up removal. especially powerful if skin feels oily, blemished or pimply. Gives pores great deep clean, fights spots. eve_lom morning cleansing balm. its like having a facial at home. I use it ~1/2ce a week in the am. I leave on for 2-3 mins and it gives me; bright, soft skin which feels healthy and clean. zero irritation. 🧖🏼♀️ . darphin illuminating micellar cleanser. Gelly like texture, super gentle. leaves behind luminous skin. great to revive skin in the am! smells divine. 💫✨ . sanctuaryspa warming detox charcoal wash. I use it in the evenings when I have clogged pores, spots, or lots of blackheads. feels like it takes all the shite out of my pores. smells a bit like minerals?! 🌑🌚 . chanel lait douceur cleansing milk. This is a real lux cleanser. Ideal for morning use, really gentle & takes off post shower panda eyes perfectly! Otherwise is a great daily make up remover! Leaves skin silky soft. I use it sparingly because its expensive🥛 . 💕I also have cleansing masks but thats for another post. None of these cleansers are drying, heavy, oily, greasy or irritating. So I would say they are suitable for most skin types!💕
SANCTUARY SPA-Warming Charcoal Detox Wash
neutrogena deep clean gentle scrub
key ingredients: citric acid - citric acid is effective for sloughing off dead skin cells and speeding new cell turnover. this ingredient can promote new skin growth that can alleviate the appearance of acne scars, minor wrinkles, uneven skin tone/texture, hyperpigmentation, and age spots. salicylic acid - salicylic acid is proven to be an effective skin care ingredient because of the way it penetrates into the skin and dissolves any debris inside your pores. it’s also naturally derived from willow bark which is known to heal and soothe. this acid can also help with any inflammation and redness of a blemish. what it claims to do: neutrogena’s deep clean gentle scrub claims to gently exfoliate the skin with microbeads. the beta hydroxy helps to clean deep into the pores for soft and smooth skin. neutrogena’s description of this product claims that, “Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub is the daily cleansing scrub with beta hydroxy proven to clean deep down into your pores, yet is gentle enough to use every day. Skin looks and feels soft and smooth after just one use.” my experience: this product was pretty effective for exfoliating and removing the dead skin cells off of my face since it is formulated with a beta hydroxy acid formula (bha - which is the salicylic acid). i used this scrub everyday for about 2 weeks straight until i noticed that it started leaving a tight feeling on my face after usage (although this is labeled as a “gentle scrub”). i found this to be a bit too harsh for everyday use on my skin, but that might just be because i have sensitive skin). instead of using this everyday, i limited my usage of this product to about 2-3 days every week. after using this algorithm, my skin felt smooth and soft after without the tight feeling that i was experiencing before. i also noticed that this helped remove and reduce the appearance of some of my blackheads. Pore Minimizing 🍓 Face Wash
Fresh has always been a brand that I can count on, and I really have been enjoying using this cleanser 2x per week. First I want to point out two things that I think are really important before purchasing this. The first one is that this cleanser’s exfoliating particles are very small and dissolve with water quickly. If you’re looking for a very exfoliating cleanse, then this isn’t the product for you. Secondly, this smells so yummy and sweet but for people with sensitive skin I can definitely see this product giving a bad reaction so proceed with caution. I enjoy the way this exfoliating cleanser gently buffs away dead skin and the strawberry really tightens my pores without leaving my face feeling dry. It is a slightly runny cleanser but you only need a little bit to get a great clean. I would recommend this and the packaging is super cute too! fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash

Exfoliation 101 – Wisdom for Acne-Prone & Simultaneously Aging Skin
Exfoliation is a tricky but necessary aspect of properly caring for your skin. You may think that cleansing alone is doing the trick, but dead skin cells build up and need to be resurfaced for a more bright, rejuvenated, and glowing appearance. If you scrub too hard, the skin barrier will become inflamed or damaged. If you do not scrub at all, your skin becomes unevenly textured and dull in coloration. If you are battling adult-acne, you sadly can’t use many of the BEST anti-aging products. This is because the formulas are often too thick or concentrated, leading to increased blemishes. It is a confusing dance to learn the ins and outs of exfoliation, especially with the party of combination skin. But here are the tricks that worked for me! About my skin: · European/White/Cherokee Native American Ethnicity/background · Very acne-prone; cystic, scarring, uneven skin tone · Battling aging at the same time (age: 25) · Oily in some places, dry in others, very fun! One of my favorites is a product that I discovered in France a few Summers ago while living abroad (shipping worldwide) is the Deep Cleansing Exfoliator by Caudalie. Here is a bit about the regimen: · I use this product about twice per week, to avoid over-exfoliating and causing skin irritation (or more breakouts). · I use about a nickel-sized amount, pretty generously. You can use a pea-sized drop, whatever feels right! This simple and ‘whipped’ texture is very gentle while somehow feeling like gritty sand. Just as your face feels refreshed from saltwater and the beach, this formula feels like it is giving me a new layer of skin! A brighter, clearer, smoother, and healthier layer of skin!! This gritty product works deep yet somehow is lightweight like a cloud. It has dramatically enhanced the clarity of my skin and has been a real gamechanger. Thank goodness I do not have to fly to France every time I need it, or there would be trouble! Please note – This is simply what has worked for me as the best exfoliant used to date. What works for my skin may not work for your skin. There are mechanical, chemical, or topical exfoliations available on a crowded marketplace. To set honest expectations - You will have to experiment with different exfoliation products to find the right fit for your skin. Tips for exfoliation: · You have to find your own frequency. You can exfoliate every day, and this only works for some skin-types; for others, this can lead to increased breakouts. You want to preserve the natural Ph and balance of your skin, while still forcing it to regenerate new skin cells. · If you do exfoliate daily, do so GENTLY! · Do not use harsh exfoliants that have things like plastic microbeads, shells, volcanic rock, or accidental particles that get thrown into the natural concoction. These are commonly used in cheaply-made or under-researched products, leading to microtears in the skin. To avoid, purchase your product from a trusted and reputable skin-care brand. · Always moisturize afterward. Since my skin is acne-prone, I have to opt for oil-free options. Be very careful with chemical peels or mechanical options as they are literally peeling away a layer of the skin. Chemical peels can lead to scarring and infection, on top of the sheer pain. I personally recommend opting for a more gentle topical option, such as the Caudalie line for skin detoxification. Experiment slowly, and you will find the right regimen of products and frequency for your skin type. Starting early will always be better than starting late!
