comparing milky cleansers! 🥛
i have been a fan of Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser
iamgrapessIs this creamy glossier cleanser good for combination skin? Or is it more for dry skin due to the hydration?
HONESTly doesn’t hold up to it’s claims 🧐
Honest Beauty- Magic Gel-to-Milk- cleanser Ingredients: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Water (Aqua), Sucrose Laurate, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Caprylyl Glycol, Sucrose Stearate, Sucrose Palmitate, Kaolin, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid. So everything about this cleanser sounds lovely! The feeling of it is beautiful, super light weight and leaves the skin soft and fresh, however it claims that it “will melt makeup away” and I am sad to report that is NOT the case. Multiple attempts using this cleanser with different levels of makeup on and even with a super light weight CC cream and regular (non water proof) mascara on and with the wipe of a cotton pad with toner on it, SO MUCH makeup residue was still coming off of my skin. Now, I love supporting brands like Honest and maybe its just in my experience, but I don’t like that it specifically states that it removes makeup when it absolutely does not. If you do a “makeup melt” oil cleanse before hand, maybe this is great for washing the skin after or using as a morning cleanser before starting your beauty routine for the day, but since it is advertised as an all encompassing cleanser I have to give it a solid thumbs down for false advertising. Sorry Jessica. HONEST - Magic Gel-to-Milk Cleanser #cheriecreator #HONESTlydidntwork #thumbsdown
Clean Makeup Remover 🌸
I initially purchased this “wash” because my skin was starting to feel dry and sensitive. My other face cleansers weren’t working anymore and I needed to venture into more cream based cleansers. I had been eyeing this specific cleanser for months so when it was time to switch I purchased this one from my local Target. Here’s the gag, though; it turned out to be one of the BEST oil cleansers I’ve ever tried🌹Even though I purchased it be used alone, the formulation and consistency just didn’t work for me as a typical “cleanser” would and I decided to issue it in a double cleanse system instead. Turned out to be amazing! 😱 When squeezed out, it looks like a pink gel 💕but when water is added, it turns into a milky consistency that melt away any makeup from the day. I would go in with this first to get off ALL my makeup (eyes included) and then switch to a regular cleanser with mild surfactants to really clean everything else off, and continue with the rest of my routine as usual. If you are dealing with very sensitive or overly dry and dehydrated skin, I would absolutely recommend giving it a try. It is extremely hydrating but does leave a bit of an oily “film” on the face - you cant see it but you can feel it (only caveat IMO). I would NOT suggest it for oily/acne prone or regular skin types 🚫 UNLESS it’s being used to wash off makeup in a double cleanse. All in all, I really loved this product. Even though I intended on using it as a normal wash, I’m glad I found something that extremely effective at getting all my makeup off. ⭐️ HONEST - Magic Gel-to-Milk Cleanser
My Morning Routine to Conquer the Day!
Having a good morning can often make or break your entire day. There are a few steps I always take every day to try and set myself up for success. For me, it’s especially important to have a morning routine when working from home— this is because getting ready and prepped is as much as a physical transformation as it is for my mindset. I always wake up, and brush my teeth first thing with something that’s good for me and my teeth. I love Davids - Peppermint Toothpaste along with Tom's OF MAINE - Simply White Fluoride Toothpaste Clean Mint who are both eco-friendly and pack their toothpastes full of natural whitening and enamel strengthening ingredients. The SLS and other dermatitis inducing ingredients in all toothpastes can make you break out, so I always follow brushing with a gentle cleanser like Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser or fresh - Soy Face Cleanser Limited Edition to remove it without stripping my skin. I’ll tone and then roll on my favorite facial oil or lightweight moisturizer (YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream is great for the daytime!) with an iced jade roller like this oneNEIBOURHOOD BOTANICALS - Jade Roller Gua Sha Facial Massage You can use ice, but this is nice to help de puff eyes as well and give a quick wake up. While letting my oil sink in, I’ll put on a pot of tea that caters to my skin (spearmint and green tea) to drink in lieu of coffee which gives me anxiety, and do my morning stretching and meditation while it boils. When I’m done stretching, I’ll add the hot water to my teabag and let it brew. While it’s brewing I’ll add a multitasking SPF to protect and make my skin glow without makeup, with something like COOLA - Classic Full Spectrum 360 Sun Silk Drops SPF 30 or a tinted moisturizer like it Cosmetics - it Cosmetics CC+ Cream SPF 50+ to even out my skin tone and make me look more awake, while protecting me from sun damage. If I have zoom meetings or errands, I’ll put on quick makeup. If not, a hydrating lip mask it is. Something like BITE - Agave+ Intensive Vegan Lip Mask lasts for hours and makes my lips feel super hydrated and nourished, while looking soft and supple. I’ll then light a candle with an invigorating scent like lemon or eucalyptus and drink my tea to center and calm myself to be ready for whatever my day may throw at me! Because I’ve already taken care of my personal care necessities, I feel more bada$$ already. I hope you enjoyed this post. What does your morning routine look like? ✨
Who Likes This One?? 💖
Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser A lovely product with a Rosy scent and creamy texture. This is a PH balanced facial cleanser! It's great for daily use. It is a gel oil instead of a cleansing oil which is great for hydration! It is also a great addition to your routine if you double cleanse! This effectively removes makeup and cleanses without removing the natural oils of the skin. I don't recommend this for people with oily skin. This is for dry and combination skin. I have oilier skin so I wouldn't use this every day, but when I tried it I was on one of my dryer days and it made my skin beautiful. Hypoallergenic Sulphate free Paraben free Noon comedogenic What I do: Wet face and rub the cleanser into the skin. Let it sit for a few seconds and then rinse. It will melt off if you let it sit for a few extra seconds! ( Sometimes I use this for double cleansing as well). The ingredients contain a lot of moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, and emollient type ingredients. There are also a lot of solvents, surfactants, and emulsifiers, which neither surprising nor a bad thing since it is a cleanser and didn't spend much time on the face. Here is a list of ingredients, let me know your opinion on these ingredients as I am unfamiliar with some of these! 💖 Water/Aqua/Eau, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Propanediol, Isohexadecane, Poloxamer 184, Acrylamide/Sodium Acryloyldimethyltaurate Copolymer, Xylitylglucoside, Betaine, Allantoin, Glycerin, Panthenol, Symphytum Officinale Root Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Anhydroxylitol, Polysorbate 80, Xylitol, Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Isopropyl Myristate, Benzoic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide Share your thoughts!! 💖
GLOSSIER MILKY JELLY CLEANSER
Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser I was very excited to purchase this cleanser although a little skeptical, for I have (very) oily skin. I was nervous that because this product has more of a oil/cream texture instead of a foaming it wouldn’t remove enough surface oils, makeup, and sebum. I love this product! I went in with low expectations and I’m shocked! WHY I LOVE IT- a.) It’s pH balance. This is something I look for whenever buying a cleanser (or any facial products). You want a pH balance because when it’s too alkaline (a higher pH) your skin will be dryer and more sensitive and when you have too acidic (a lower pH) it can cause you to have an increase of pimples, oil and redness. So moral of the story if you get into the danger zones with your pH rate your skin concerns will increase. b.) It’s texture! The texture of this cleanser is like nothing I’ve felt before. It’s creamy, cool and feels so refreshing on my skin! c.) It’s natural, yay! As someone who believes in natural skin care It’s somewhat hard to get natural, non-sensitive and effective facial products. This cleanser however, passed this test with flying colors! BENEFITS OF USING- When I used this cleanser for the first time I went in with low expectations. Will this even work? Why all the hype? Well this is why, whenever I cleanse my face with this product I am left with not stripped skin but I’m not greasy ether! My skin feels so soft and smooth! The Poloxamer (a cleansing agent used in contact lenses solution) is a mild yet strong cleanser ( it is gentle enough for your skin and yet cleans the buildup in your skin). The Aquaxyl helps to refill the water barrier to help prevent dehydration. Pro Vitamin B5 a natural moisturizer found in mushrooms and cheese. HOW I USE- If I want to remove makeup I use it like an oil cleanser I lather it on clean dry hands and apply to the dry skin, this way it melts all of my makeup off! If I want to use it to "cleanse" my face I mix it with water to create a clear solution. BEST DEALS: If you want to get the product by itself, then you can choose from the "mini" 2 fl oz/ 60 ml for $11 or the "full size" 6 fl oz/ 177 ml. If you want to get this product in a set my personal favorite sets that include the Milky Jelly Cleanser is theGlossier. - The Skincare Set this includes the Milky Jelly Cleanser, the original priming moisturizer and the balm.com, Glossier. - The Clear + Conceal Set this includes the Milky Jelly Cleanser, the zit stick (I love) and the stretch concealer.

Battle of the “Jelly” Cleansers: Glossier vs. DE
Although both cleansers contain the word “Jelly” in their names, I find the two to be quite different. I love both cleansers for different reasons. Having combination skin, I feel both cleansers help me in different ways. Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser The Milky Jelly Cleanser from Glossier has been a staple in my routine for a few years now. Although I used to be absolutely in love with this product, as i’ve tried other cleaners and expanded my skin care products I have fallen out of love. The texture is creamy, I find it works best when used on a dry face to remove makeup. Honestly, that is the only thing I would use it for. It does not foam up, and after using on my skin I do not feel it makes my skin feel any cleaner. However, when my skin is feeling dry or sensitive, I enjoy using this as it feels non-stripping and it is not harsh. I still use this time to time to remove makeup, but personally I believe there are better options out there. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Unlike the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser, the Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser is a foaming. GEL. Personally, I believe my skin feels cleaner after using a foaming cleanser, so I prefer this one when washing my face. That being said, I wouldn’t use it on its own to remove makeup. Glycerin is the main ingredient in this one, it is very mild, has no smell and does not feel harsh on sensitive skin. This product has been a new staple in my skin care routine. So which is better? For me, the Drunk Elephant cleanser edges out the Glossier one overall, but only because I prefer a foaming cleanser for my skin. When it comes to removing makeup, the Glossier wins for me. I would recommend the Glossier for more dry and sensitive skin, and the Drunk elephant for Oily skin. Which Jelly do you prefer?

Rose water in skincare pt. 2 🌹
Continuing with this amazing ingredient, today I bring you two very similar products, sadly one of these didn’t work for me at all, but I’ll begin with my absolute #1 cleanser. I’ve been using the Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser for years now, I purchased it when it first came out and just never stopped. I love it as a second cleanse at night and in the mornings after working out. It’s not stripping at all, it removes whatever makeup my cleansing balm didn’t get off, my face feels clean but not tight or uncomfortable. Bliss gifted me the bliss - Makeup Melt Jelly Cleanser and I started using it after I ran out of my Milky jelly cleanser but had no money to repurchase and I had this one, I was really hoping this would work well since these two are similar but it just didn’t. It dried up my skin badly, messed up my skin barrier and irritated my skin. A friend told me they ph tested this cleanser and it has a very low ph, which is probably why it was so irritating for me and I don’t have sensitive or particularly reactive skin! I use it know to clean my makeup brushes and it’s actually pretty good for that so at least I can still use it and not let it go to waste!

Bye bye makeup, impurities, stress, bills, etc..
BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original 📝 I originally picked up this product on a trip to Korea in 2016 (not this same one pictured..obvi) and had no clue what it was. I bought it because I needed to buy something for my sister (and myself) and this was recommended by the kind store girls at Banila Co. I was told it was like a makeup remover and I was like ?!?! ⏩ Well, 3 years later and now I can’t get enough. I’ve obviously repurchased this many times. Both online (side note: it’s now sold at Ulta!!!) and when I’ve been back to Korea (I get like 4 at a time). It’s the same concept as FARMACY’s Green Clean balm but less expensive and equally effective. I love and use both, but this ones definitely more cost efficient. It doesn’t have much of a fragrance and is a very soft texture, similar to Green Clean. 📖How to: all you need is a small smidge of product which you can scoop using the plastic wand and warm it up between your hands - it’ll then emulsify and remove your makeup like magic! 🧞♀️ 💡Tip: make sure you face is dry or else the oil won’t be able to work as effectively because...science 🤷🏻♀️
BANILA CO-Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original
Recently ran out of my morning cleanser which is the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel that I absolutely love and used for almost 7 mos. I’ve been looking for something mild (or even milder), the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser has always been on my list - Now onto my review, I’ve only added this into my routine for a week but I’m gonna say it already—I LOVE IT. It has everything you would want in a cleanser: pH balanced, non-stripping and really gentle. I’m obsessed with the creamy gel formula that just feels so good on the skin, it leaves my face feeling healthy and soft. Lastly, Glossier replaced 1/4 of the H2O content with rosewater which makes the Milky Jelly Cleanser smell great!
Glossier.-Milky Jelly Cleanser
The cleanser I’ve been using since 2016 🥛
This product was recommended to me by my cousin four years ago and I haven’t been able to put it down since. The milky jelly cleanser is everything and more!!! Seriously though, it is perfect for my combination skin. It gets rid of all my makeup (except for anything waterproof 🥺) and oils without drying my skin out and stripping it of the natural oils that are GOOD for you. I have not found another cleanser that is as gentle and powerful as this product. The consistency is just what you can imagine: jelly! It is silky soft, extremely moisturizing and has a very light and subtle scent of roses. It is the perfect cleanser for refreshing your face after you wake up in the morning or before bed at night. I cannot say enough good things about the Milky Jelly Cleanser. It helped me through my years of acne, sunburns, dry patches, scarring and other skin struggles. This has been a constant in my skincare routine for years (I have probably gone through more than ten bottles) and I don’t plan on switching it up anytime soon. 🤍🤍🤍 Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser
