Help: Are these good hair products?
So I love skincare and I take care of my skin. I don’t know why I’m just realizing this but I should be taking care of my hair too! I have 2B/2C hair so I’m thinking of buying these products. Can someone pls tell me if they are good or not? SheaMoisture - Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo SheaMoisture - Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner SheaMoisture - 100% Pure Argan Oil Briogeo - Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Avocado Leave–In Defining Cream I also heard about this brand’s shampoo and conditioner: MOROCCANOIL - Moisture Repair Shampoo MOROCCANOIL - Moisture Repair Conditioner
quality, affordable oils by shea moisture 💆🏾♀
i always keep these two oils on my bathroom counter - they have a number of helpful uses: 💆🏾♀️ argan oil - great source of linolic/oleic fatty acids + vitamin E, which contribute to healthy skin, hair, and eyes - has some antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help damaged and inflamed skin * i use this on my hair when taking down my twist-outs, and on my elbows and knees 💆🏾♀️ jamaican black castor oil - stimulates hair follicles and promotes hydration (as a natural humectant), so may contribute to hair growth - note that this one does have a stronger smell, so i prefer to apply at night * i use this on my eyebrows and eyelashes - i use an elf spoolie to apply (make sure that you’re cleaning that spoolie with your other makeup brushes) oils are tricky because there often isn’t a lot of lab research to confirm specific properties, but they have been important tools in natural beauty communities (sometimes for centuries). i enjoy using these oils topically and have seen improvements in my hair, brows, and eyelashes.
Amazing Cowash 😍
My favorite cowash! I have wavy hair but my scalp gets oily and this product actually makes my scalp feel clean after I use it. Perfect for those who sweat a lot and feel like they need to wash their hair constantly but get irritated scalps! AS I AM - Coconut Cowash
Healthy Hair Products from Black-Owned Brands
Hair Type: 2b, wavy, low-porosity I used to dye my hair once a month, completely killing my hair! 🥴 Tired of my dry, brittle hair, I decided to let my natural hair grow out. But still I struggled with dry hair and an oily scalp... UNTIL I found these products!! I use the shampoo & conditioner set every wash day (every other day for me) followed with the Curl Defining Cream on damp hair to keep my hair hydrated all day! I try to use the Avocado Hair Mask at least once a week with a Deep Conditioning Heat Cap. I could see & feel a difference immediately after using these products! They are life savers!! 6 HG curl creams💕Give U the Best Twist Out Ever👏🏾
The key to getting healthy curls is to keep your locks as hydrated as possible. That’s why the best curl creams have moisturizing ingredients. To help you narrow down your choices, here are 6 of the best products for curly hair that will make your type 3 or 4 curls look beautiful. Thanks to these favorite curlers to define natural hair, I can transform a frizzy head into a radiant spectacle of curls. Eden BodyWorks It contains natural ingredients, such as coconut oil, shea butter. This product works great on natural black hair! I did Bantu knots using this product and it turned out amazing!! Shea Moisture This is the only Shea Moisture product that I use from time to time. I don't use it too often because it contains silk protein additions and it can upset my hair's moisture. I tend to use curl definition creams in my shampoo routine, which usually includes a deep treatment. My deep hair care already contains hydrolyzed protein and this curl enhancing smoothie can harden my hair sometimes and I think it boils down to the fact that I have too much protein in my hair. Cantu With such an affordable price, Cantu's Coconut Curling Cream gives students a bang for their buck. Formulated without harsh ingredients, this thick defining leaves hair stylable and visibly brighter. In addition, it smells good! Be careful though, although it has a nice blend of added oils, it also contains protein which can be a problem if your hair is sensitive to it. Camille Rose I use this after applying a leave-in conditioner to give my hair extra hold. On days where my hair needs extra help, I follow up with a bit of hair gel! Afro Sheen I bought this product because I wanted something cheaper than Shea Moisture. It’s very thick and over moisturizes my curls I think it does help to bring them out. AS I AM Definitely worth the price! It is thick and very moisturizing. It doesn’t have to use a lot to get the full effects of it.

🎀“Baby Hairs”🎀 (3A curls)
So before I get into this topic I want to give credit to all of the amazing Black & Latina women creators on all social media platforms bc they truly hold all of the best beauty advice So to get into this, I’m Latina & white. My dad is Hispanic and my mom is white. I wasn’t around my dad much growing up (or his family) so my mom was the one guiding me through my hair journey. If u know where I’m going with this.. it was kinda disastrous bc she gave me white girl hair advice and not mixed/textured hair girl advice. But luckily youtube exists. Fast forward to today, I’m still learning about my hair and trying to maintain my hair the best I can. I recently started playing around with my baby hairs because honestly it is such a look. I definitely keep it pretty simple and reserved by just trying to slick back and decrease frizz but this has been such a game changer for me. I’m able to achieve a more refined look using this gel in generally but also on my baby hairs. 10/10 if you have curly hair try this out. Also I have a new found respect & appreciation for laying edges because it is so challenging 💆🏽♀️ ECOCO - Eco Style Argan Oil Gel Also plz don’t roast me if this isn’t the best im still new to it 🥵
🍍Sleek Buns & Ponytails 🍍
This is such a great product , super affordable, and really could be used on all hair types. I pretty use it anytime I need to make my casual ponytails or buns a little more sleek and clean. My little frizzies can make my updos sloppy and this helps hold my hair in place, especially around my face. I wish I would have been using this years ago 🥰 ECOCO - Eco Style Argan Oil Gel

My Hair Care Journey ft. Amika
I went from buying whatever was on sale at Walmart to developing a real passion for hair products! Amika gifted me a few of their bestselling products & the brand has become one of my top favorite hair care brands for multiple reasons: they offer a wide variety of products for all hair types & textures, give back to the community, their price point is fairly priced, they create innovative hair products & use quality clean ingredients, their products are cruelty free & their packaging is 100% recyclable. If you’re not sold yet, check out my carousel & learn about some of the staple Amika products in my hair care routine! 🤎 amika: - Reset Charcoal Detoxifying Scalp Cleansing Oil amika: - Reset Exfoliating Jelly Shampoo amika: - Perk Up Talc-Free Dry Shampoo amika: - Flash Instant Shine Mask amika: - Soulfood Nourishing Mask amika: - Normcore Sulfate Free Shampoo amika: - Normcore Signature Conditioner
Amika: 🧡💖 Soft, Voluminous Hair
This duo is amazing! The combination of these two products made my hair silky smooth from root to end. I blow dry my hair after I wash it so my hair can feel a little wild directly after, but when I used these in combination I was shocked at how soft and manageable my hair was. amika: - 3D Volume and Thickening Shampoo 💜💜 A tiny bit goes a long way with this product! It is seriously so amazing. After the very first wash with it I could tell a difference in my hair. I’ve been struggling with stress induced hair loss so I decided volume shampoo was the way to go. I have pretty heavy hair so I’m impressed that this actually gave me a bit of volume! What I’m most impressed with, though, is how soft it made my hair. My scalp can get pretty dry and flaky so I was super surprised when this shampoo made the roots of my hair feel soft! It thoroughly cleansed my hair (as volume shampoos tend to have more of a deep clean) but did not over strip. I can still go a little bit without washing my hair when I use this! amika: - Soulfood Nourishing Mask 🧡💖 This mask made my hair feel so soft. You don’t even need to use that much of it so even the travel size is worth it! Rinsing it out of my hair was so easy as my fingers could easily run through it without any tangles to brush out. Also, it smells amazing due to Amika’s signature scent! I have these travel sizes because I really wanted to try these products but still have a long way to go with my current shampoo and conditioner. This makes me wish I had just purchased these from the start! When I run out of the products I’m currently using I will 100% be switching over to Amika for my shampoo and conditioner (at the very least)! ✨If you have tried these products or have any recommendations please let me know in the comments!✨
My go-to braided style
This pulled-back, partially braided style has been my go-to look for a while. It is pretty simple. While I normally have 4C, thick, natural hair, but with synthetic wig is none of those things. What do you need TANGLE TEEZER - The Original Detangling Hair Brush : I actually have the purple one. scünci - Conair Matte Black No Slip Grip Bobby Pins Step 1: Brush out your hair until smooth. Step 2: Take a small section and braid leaving about an inch of hair at the end. (This will help it blend more with the hair at the back.) *Repeat this until you have four braids on each side. Step 3: Pull braids to the back of the head and secure them with the bobby-pins. (I used black pins to make them more visible, but I would normally use a brown one for this hair color.) Step 4: Brush the nonbraided hair again. Final step: Live your life.

HAIR GROWTH TIP OF THE WEEK 💗
💗 Winter means dry skin and hair so it’s super important to make sure you’re keeping your hair moisturized daily and your scalp as it’s needed 💗 For your hair, a spray bottle and water will be your best friend. Combine that with your favorite leave in conditioner and you’re all set! 💗 For a dry scalp, try using olive oil as a pre-poo as a dry scalp treatment.
MOISTURE! The key to a long lasting wash
One of the biggest keys to a long lasting wash and go is MOISTURE! 💞 Right now, my go to leave-in conditioner is the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen and Restore Leave-In conditioner by Shea Moisture! This stuff keeps my hair moisturized for up to 4 days before refreshing! SheaMoisture - Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner
SheaMoisture-Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner
The perfect wash & go!🥰
🌀I’m in love with this hair product just bomb! If you have textured hair I recommend you to try this product because it is so good that it works as a one product wash & go for my thick curls. Makes my hair soft, defined and juicy(moisturized) . 🌀Afro Love curling puree is a thick curling cream which makes me think that could work on many different Afro textures depending on how much product you use. A little goes a long wait, so have that in mine if you’re heavy handed because you only need a little bit per section. 🌀This makes my hair look so juicy by providing moisturizer, definition, some hold and most of all softness. I’m big on having definition, volume and softness, however, I don’t like using gel; so I feel like this curling puree solve all of my problems. 🌀You can even use this to refresh. You can spray so water on the frizzy areas of your hair then add a bit of the curling puree and after it dries you can scrunch it out because it does leaves a cast which is good because it lets you know it can last a few days or even a week. 🌀I 100% recommended it. Afro Love never lets me down😌 AFRO LOVE - Curling Puree

Here're my tips after co-washing
If you find co-washing leaves your scalp feeling irritated, or you get too much buildup from co-washing, try the condition-shampoo-condition method ✨ Using a conditioner and then a shampoo and then conditioning again helps clean your hair without the additional buildup that can come from some co-washes. ✨ Apply your conditioner and massage into your hair and scalp. Without rinsing, apply a small amount of shampoo on your hair and massage. Rinse both the conditioner and shampoo out, deep condition, and proceed with your regular styling 👌🏽
Wavy hair products
Ok so I recently started using a new shampoo and conditioner. I try to stay within the Shea Moisture brand and sometimes I’ll venture out into Cantu or something similar. I’ve had this shampoo and conditioner set for about 3 weeks now and holy crap! It’s like I have a new head of hair. I used to always use products that contained some sort of coconut product whether it be Cantu products or others and since I’ve moved away from that I’ve seen a HUGE difference. I’ve seen posts from a lot of other girls saying coconut in their hair products has really dampened their curl texture and I thought maybe I had the same problem and honestly, I think I was right! The more I moved away from coconut, the curlier my hair has gotten. Anyway, on to the products! The Shea Moisture Power Greens is a great combo. It’s got essential nutrients and moisturizes my hair extremely well. My only problem is, the shampoo is VERY watery. I guess the plus side to that is it makes me control how much shampoo I’m putting into my hand so, I’m not too mad about it. The conditioner though is perfect! Both have a very light scent, I don’t think it’s super over bearing at all but then again I’ve been using super strong scented coconut products so I may just not be able to smell it all that well (haha) The Shea Moisture Hair Milk is one of the best leave in conditioners I’ve ever used. It doesn’t leave my hair super greasy and weighed down and having wavy hair, that’s important to avoid! And last but not least, As I Am Curling Jelly. I love love LOVE this hair gel. It’s very liquidy and thin so it keeps a good hold without casting my hair into a rock. It’s by far the best hair gel I’ve tried and I hope I never find the day where I can’t buy it anymore. My Hair Routine!! Shampoo using only a quarter size amount Condition with my hair flipped over and scrunch my hair with conditioner until my hair clumps. I use about 5-6 pumps of conditioner to fully condition my hair and it forms clumps I rinse the conditioner out of my hair still flipped over and I just scrunch and squeeze until it feels like I got what I want out after that DONT FLIP YOUR HAIR UP YET While I’m still in the shower I scrunch my hair out until my hair isn’t sopping wet, BUT it is still very wet I then scrunch in my hair milk. I use about a nickel size of this then finally I take small globs of hair gel and scrunch it into my hair until it starts forming good clumps and everywhere has a good layer of gel to form a good cast after I get all my product in I plop my hair in a hair towel for anywhere from 20-45 minutes depending on how much time I have once I take the towel out, I gently scrunch my hair with the towel to make sure my hair isn’t still dripping wet (my hair holds A LOT of water and I really need to squeeze it out sometimes) after that I let everything air dry and then break the cast once it’s completely dry!
