2 of my favorite asian skincare products
Skincare products vary a lot around the world, and Asian skincare has gained a reputation for being some of the best products around. I started incorporating some Asian skincare into my routine a few years ago, and now I can’t go without it! Here are two of my favorites. For reference, my skin is fair and acne prone, and my main concerns are healing texture and hyperpigmentation from acne. The first one is thePURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+
The texture is lightweight and sinks in easily
It has zero white cast
NO SUNSCREEN SMELL! No smell at all since this is unscented!
In addition to high SPF, it contains soothing ingredients like centella and niacinamide that are great for my acne prone skin
It layers well over other products and under makeupThis checks all the boxes for me. It protects my skin, plays well with all my other products, and fits within my budget. This is the sunscreen I recommend to EVERYONE. The second product is a bit newer to me—I’ve been using the COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence
The texture is like a thick essence, but not sticky like I feared
It feels incredibly soothing and moisturizing
It’s made a noticeable difference in my redness and hyperpigmentation due to acne
It helps my acne heal faster
It doesn’t pillThis essence does everything I want it to do: it adds another layer of moisture and helps with acne and the marks left behind. It’s also very affordable—much more affordable than the essence I was using before! I use this in both my morning and night routines and it’s been working great for me. I plan to repurchase this and I would recommend it to anyone. #CheriePartner

Looking For A Calming Cleanser?
COSRX Pure Fit Cica Cleanser ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I semi-recently discovered COSRX and am pretty impressed with their products so far. I started by purchasing their COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence Snail 96 Essence, then their COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid Blackhead Power Liquid and then, while looking for a calming cleanser, purchased their Cica cleanser. COSRX is cruelty-free and is labled as “clean beauty” (that doesn’t actually mean anything in the skincare world, but nonetheless). The COSRX - Pure Fit Cica Cleanser is billed as low-pH, calming, soothing, strengthening and protecting. * “A mild cleanser with a rich, gentle foam” * “This foam cleanser effectively balances the skin, helping it stay smooth and supple” * “Formulated with CICA-7 Complex and Pinus Pinaster Bark extract” *CICA-7 is said to smooth and protect irritated, sensitive skin and strengthen the skin barrier. *Pinus Pinaster Bark extract contains Vitamin E and is said to relieve and help in skin recovery. (*Source: Amazon’s product listing) It also has Centella in it. It’s scientific name is Centella asiatica*, it’s higher classification being pennywort. “Centella asiatica known Gotu Kola is a medicinal plant that has been used in folk medicine for hundreds of years as well as in scientifically oriented medicine.” (*Source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3834700/#idm139695891535344title) So far, my skin is a fan! I have had many instances (particularly with my neck as my skin is SO SENSITIVE AND TEMPERAMENTAL THERE) and this has been a really gentle cleanser that caused zero irritation and I was even able to use some on my healing neck. It had been about a week or so since it had had an adverse reaction to a product and I was able to gently use this without any real sass from my neck. I was initially a little worried because it has a sharp natural scent that I thought might irritated my skin or drive me crazy but it did neither. The smell washes off with the cleanser. It seems to be doing a really nice job in combination with the rest of my skincare routine and it is becoming my most-frequently-reached-for facial cleansers. I would definitely recommend this face wash. An effective, gentle cleanser from a cruelty-free company is a total win in my book.
2017 to 2020 acne scaring healed with skincare
I wanted to share my journey because skincare can take time. Especially if you’ve had years of acne or scarring. It took a long time for me to start to figure out my skin. Many dermatologist visits. My skin is still a major work in progress, but I’m consistent. A few of my favorite staples along the way have been double cleansing with a balm and the. Vanicream gentle cleanserVANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser as my water based cleanser. I use Cosrx Snail Mucine EssenceCOSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence day and night. My favorite toner is Benton BHA toner Benton - Aloe BHA Skin Toner, for All Skin Types I’m working on finding the right moisturizer again after my favorite was discontinued. I also love Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 to treat the redness under my makeup.

The Serum That Helped Me Control The Oil!!
I feel like I'm glowing in pictures and a oily mess in person!!! For years I have used every matte product on the market from setting sprays to serums. Nothing ever really worked, I was always super shiney by the end of the night especially if I had a full face of makeup!! Even not wearing makeup I would be oily by the end of the day. During quarantine my skin started breaking out really bad and I started using some new products and the first few I incorporated was NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% and NATURIUM - Niacinamide Gel Cream 5% NATURIUM - Niacinamide Gel Cream 5% . Serum during the day and incorporating the gel at night. All of a sudden my oily mess was getting under control. The setting sprays and matte foundations were able to do their job!!! I never wore sunscreen because it made me so oily and now I lather it daily and even use a moisturizing sunscreen PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ . I even layer on NATURIUM - Vitamin C Face Oil in the mornings to keep me hydrated but niacinamide hasn't caused me any irritation or dry flaky skin. My skin has gone from oily to combination!!! My T zone is still slightly oily but under control. I feel like I look glowy in person and no longer this oily hott mess. Just a PS- Niacinamide does more than just control oil it can improve texture and dullness, sooth skin, strengthens the skin barrier and even improves hyperpigmentation. Would you consider adding niacinamide to your skin care routine?!
My Favorite Sunscreen from Korea🌱
I have sensitive combination skin that is acne-prone and needs extra hydration in the fall and winter. 🍃 After seeing many posts on it on Instagram, I decided I needed to try the Centella Green Level Unscented Sunscreen by Purito for myself. I purchased it from Amazon for about $15. 🌱 This is a water-based formula with Centella extracts to protect skin from UV rays and harmful environments without any stickiness or white cast on the skin. It is also free of essential oils and fragrance. It is SPF 50 which I also like because it’s important to have between 30 and 50 on a sunscreen. 🍃 I adore this product! It is so soothing and makes skin feel soft rather than sticky. It’s a thicker white texture at first but sinks in beautifully and really calms my skin which is easily irritated. I use this mainly when the weather is colder because it’s just very moisturizing and gives me that extra boost that I like. It has a really light almost earthy scent that I don’t notice, sometimes even when applying. The amount I have in that picture covered both hands and the tops of my arms and sunk in gorgeously! I use it at the end of my routine like any other SPF and also use a moisturizer beforehand. 🌱 I’d repurchase this over and over again! Have you tried this or any Purito products yet? PROTECT YOUR SKIN BARRIER
Krave - Great Barrier Relief If you use a lot of chemical exfoliants YOU NEED THIS. If your skin just needs a break from you trying a shit load of products YOU NEED THIS If you suffer from hyperpigmentation YOU NEED THIS Having a lot of redness? YOU NEED THIS Dehydrated skin? YOU NEED THIS? Guys you really need to know the importance of taking care of & protecting your skin barrier. Great Barrier Relief really helps me out with that. A healthy skin barrier keeps the irritants away & locks in natural oils and moisture.
Krave-Great Barrier Relief
Krave GBR-Redness/Skin Barrier Serum
What is it? A creamy serum that is designed to build up your skin barrier with an assortment of oils and moisturizing factors. It has tamanu oil, safflower oil, rosehip oil, squalane, niacinamide, and ceramides. It is for people who overwash their face, use too many harsh products, has a depleted skin barrier, and needs to press reset on their skin. My thoughts 💭 This serum has saved my husbands face. He had dry red eczema-like patches and within a week this serum helped them go away. My husband has been using consistently for almost 4 months (he uses a very small amount on his sensitive eczema areas). I got this for him because I have seen it raved about for those with sensitive skin! I took off one star because it does leave him a little oily, that could just be him and not the product however (men 🙄). I have never had a skin barrier issue, but I know that when and if I do this will save me. I have oily skin so I am not sure how it would do with my skin type, but I am sure it would be fine as all the ingredients are low on the comedogenic scale. Final takeaways 🗣 If you use harsh ingredients (AHA’s, BHA’s, retinols, Retin-A, etc.) this would be an amazing product to have on hand just to be able to use it as needed. I highly recommend getting this if you are worries about your skin barrier being compromised! It is $28 for 1.35oz and KraveBeauty is an amazing female entrepreneur owned company! This product is unique and so necessary for the skincare community! Krave - Great Barrier Relief

New additions to my routine this spring
In spring my skincare routine doesn’t change that much but I do start to add a couple products so during the summer my skin doesn’t break out due to a bunch of new products. The spring is also when I start to try new skincare to see if I want to use it during the summer. So here are some of the things I added recently. Krave - Kale-Lalu-yAHA this Toner I got during the end of last summer. And it’s a very gentle chemical exfoliant and it has lots of anti oxidants and ingredientsto strengthen the skin barrier and the best thing about it it’s made by one of my favorite youtubers Liah Yoo! But the mistake that I made first using this is that I used it daily and my sensitive skin did not handle it well😬 so I stopped using it in the colder months but I started using it recently now that it’s getting warmer but I’m just using it 2-3 times a week and it always leaves me with a nourished glow. Krave - The Beet Shield This is the same brand that made the toner and it’s just a good sunscreen and you only need a little bit to cover your whole face. It’s also very light weight which is great for my oily skin and it never leaves a white cast instead it leaves a dewy look which I really like. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This one I didn’t rate yet cause I’ve only used it twice and i know that I’m not gonna see amazing results instantly but I heard this is really good for acne scars in the long run so I thought id try it out! I only use this once a week because it is very strong and if ur new to chemical exfoliant I wouldn’t recommend this because it might sting or cause a bad reaction if u haven’t used ahas or bhas before. But I haven’t had any bad reactions to this.COSRX - Centella Blemish Cream I recently purchased this because I really liked the have a good centella cream from Juno but I needed something a little bit stronger that could also get rid of some minor breakout on my forehead and it’s lived up to all of my expectations the only thing is that it leaves a white cast and you only get a little bit in each jar. And It hasn’t completely got rid of the recent tiny bumps on my forehead but it’s definitely helped😊
The Ordinary-AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
Gentle brightening treatment
I’m a huge sucker for anything claiming to brighten the skin because I deal with a lot of dark spots and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation due to my acne. I was drawn to the ISNtree - C-Niacin Toning Ampoule because it’s a brightening treatment that uses 69% sea buckthorn fruits extract and 2% niacinamide to provide the skin with a radiant complexion. It also contains other notable ingredients such as betain, aloe, sodium hyaluronate, beta-glucan, ethyl ascorbyl ether, and some botanical extracts for hydration and skin barrier strength. This has a slippery/watery texture that easily glides onto the skin. It absorbs fairly quick leaving you with a smooth hydrating finish that can feel a bit tacky but that disappears once something is layered over it. There’s no added fragrance of any kind in the formula so there’s no scent. This has been my go to day serum for the past month or so because of how rich it is in antioxidants and vitamins. It’s decently hydrating from all the humectants in the formula and the sea buckthorn and niacinamide work well together to provide my skin with a nice healthy subtle glow. It took me about 2-3 weeks before I started seeing results with this so it’s not a fast acting product. But with continued use and patience, my hyperpigmentation began to slowly fade and I saw my skin tone becoming brighter and more even. There can be a slightly tingling sensation upon application but it’s very mild and I only felt this when my skin was a bit more sensitized. This would be a great option for anyone who’s looking for a brightening treatment but can’t tolerate traditional vitamin c products. Overall, I enjoyed this products and the results it gave me. But I’m not quite sure I’d repurchase this just yet because I have other serums that brighten my skin a bit better and faster as well. I’ve been very impressed with a lot of isntree’s products lately as they have quality products worth trying. Have you guys tried this or anything from isntree yet? If so, any thoughts? AM routine for sensitive oily skin
✨My AM routine for sensitive oily skin✨ I usually take a simple route for my morning routines as I’m mostly focused on hydrating, soothing, and protecting my skin. ▶️ SeSPRING - Cleanse It Out Gel Cleanser - gentle daily gel cleanser formulated with camellia and lotus extracts to effectively cleanse the skin of all impurities without disrupting it’s moisture barrier. A wonderful morning cleanser to help cleanse my skin of all the oils and dirt I accumulated overnight. ▶️ ISNtree - Green Tea Fresh Toner - lightweight and refreshing toner that contains 80% green tea extract to revitalize the skin. I love the hydration this provides as well as the sebum regulating properties which is great for anyone with oily skin. Green tea also has antibacterial benefits to help prevent acne. ▶️ BE PLAIN - Cicaful Ampoule - soothing and hydrating ampoule that contains a whooping 84% of concentrated centella asiatica to help fortify the skin barrier. This instantly hydrated and reduces any redness on my skin. Great for when I’m dealing with inflamed acne breakouts. ▶️ NATURIUM - Vitamin C Complex Serum - gel textured brightening treatment serum containing a complex made up of encapsulated l-ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, and bioactive fruit blend. This has been helping to keep my complexion bright and even while also providing antioxidant benefits. Pairs well with any spf. ▶️ SeSPRING - So Rich Hydrating Gel - medium weight cream that utilizes camellia and lotus extracts to provide intense hydration to the skin. I only need a small amount of this to keep my skin hydrated all day long. Does leave a more dewy finish though. ▶️ SKIN AQUA - UV Super Moisture Gel SPF 50+ PA++++ - lightweight gel textured chemical based sunscreen that provides strong sun protection. Such a great sunscreen for oily skin types. Doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and dries down to skin finish that has a slight sheen. Spot anything here that’s already in your own routine?
BE PLAIN-Cicaful Ampoule
There’s never been a better time to include a skin barrier-protecting product in my regime to save my sensitive skin from serious drought. I've talked a little bit about this Krave Great Barrier Relief and its ingredients. Basically, this product is designed to keep the good stuff in and the bad stuff out. It is particularly useful if the skin’s natural barrier function isn’t working as it should – often the case in particularly reactive skin types prone to redness and acne. Thicker and richer than your average serum, Great Barrier Relief is a smooth, lightweight cream with a pleasant herbal scent. The cream has a nice slip to it, making it possible to spread a small amount over a large area. Once applied, this serum dries down quickly to a glossy finish and leaves a light emollient film. I'm happy to say that the cream is breathable, because I don't want any clogged pores here. The instructions on the product page said to apply one or two pumps of Great Barrier Relief before moisturizer or in replacement of the moisturizer whenever the skin is feeling irritated. Since it acts as a protective seal on the skin, and therefore prevent anything we apply on top from being absorbed properly, I use one pump and slathering it all over my face as a final step in my regime. I can tell that the cream is indeed very gentle since my skin is really calm when using it. It is neither very hydrating nor is it super occlusive. It seems to be a good in-between sort of cream. Plus, it's great under makeup and not too oily for daytime.
