Brightening serum + oil in one

The Fourth Ray - Raydiate Vitamin C Elixir
is such a cool idea to me: as you can see, there are two layers to the product, and you gently shake the bottle to combine the serum and the oil together. This claims to enhance skin radiance, and while I’ve only used it a few times, I really love the mositurizing texture from the oil—I think this might also soothe potential mild irritation from the vitamin C. While there are many differences between the two products, the Biossance squalane + vitamin c oil has a similar idea (a moisturizing oil with the brightening properties of vitamin c), so if you’re turned off by the price point of the Biossance one, I suggest trying this one! It also has turmeric in it, which is a great anti-inflammatory, and hyaluronic acid, which is great for adding and retaining moisture.

Fourth Ray Serums!
If you’ve seen some of my other reviews you may already, I enjoy fragrances in products. I think they can make me want to use a product before I can see results. However, if you are not a fan of fragrances these are not the serums for you. I have been using these for about a month and have seen some pretty good results so far. I apply all three at once, one dropper full of Rainfall, and two drops of Avocado & Aloe and Radiant. Fourth Ray - Rainfall 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum This is my least favorite of the three, I feel like a basic hyaluronic acid serum does not have to be that expensive. Instead I recommend the Ordinary’s 2% hyaluronic serum + B6 as it is almost a third of the price and adds B5. I love the scent of this serum but it’s a bit much for such a basic formula. It does a good job of bringing moisture to my skin but is a bit tackier than the Ordinary serum I recommended above. I generally feel like I have to use a lot (too much) of this serum to cover my entire face each time. I just don’t think this serum is worth it especially considering its price and ingredients. Fourth Ray - Avocado + Aloe Double Shot Face Serum I would like to say that this serum does not smell like avocados or aloe, which is great because I do not particularly enjoy the smell of either. The scent instead is fresh, more generally plant like, but pleasant all together. This is jam pack with phytonutrients which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. This serum feels nice on my skin and leaves it nice and nourished. Biggest con of this serum is that the bottle gets super oily and can leave a mark on fabric or paper depending where you store it. Fourth Ray - Raydiate Vitamin C Elixir This is by far my favorite serum of the three. I have seen a lot of improvement in the brightness of my skin since I started using it. I have seen acne scars fade and developing acne scars going away before sticking It smells like oranges and definitely has to be shaken well to be used properly. I like the formula as it is not too oily and feels like a serum still. Top ingredients are natural sources of vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and turmeric (all of which have skin tone balancing benefits. Biggest con of this serum is that the bottle gets super oily and can leave a mark on fabric or paper depending where you store it. I think for 0.5oz of each of these, $15 was definitely worth it. Give them a try and let me know what you think of them!

MYTH BUSTED! MIX THESE INGREDIENTS OR NOT?
You know what zodiac sign you’re compatible with, but do you know what skincare ingredients in your routine are compatible? Vitamin c + Niacinamide To mix or to not? Hmm YES! Layer these bad boys up in your routine. (Obviously don’t go overboard, but yes apply these both) The beloved and most sought out for serums have an iffy relationship. You can mix these ingredients together, but there is some things out there that state you shouldn’t or that you should do so in caution. Here’s why! Let’s break it down and get to the point. * Vitamin C protects the skin from free radicals and works towards brightening dark spots, scars, and the overall skin tone. This is best used in the morning to protect from free radicals as we go through our day. ALWAYS wear SPF with Vitamin C! Vitamin C will increase sun sensitivity, so please further your protection with SPF. * Niacinamide is an anti-inflammatory that brightens and promotes a more even skin tone, improves skin elasticity and texture! It’s a Holly Grail tbh. On top of all of that it’s also great to fight free radicals damage and pollution. Using Vitamin C + Niacinamide together? Niacinamide is “said” to cancel out all of the good properties of Vitamin C! BUT there are plenty of studies that show there is NO HARM in using these together. These two serums together can be a powerhouse combo We love these ingredients and need to use them in our skin care! You still can! How to use vitamin c and Niacinamide in your routine: use one ingredient in the AM and one in the PM. Try applying Vitamin C in the am (with spf!) and Niacinamide at night. This way you’ll still get both ingredient’s FULL benefits, but without irritation for reactive or sensitive skin. space them out. You need to let each serum absorb into your skin and allow some time in between applying them and they should not be layered right on top of each other. * this is only if you really feel the need to apply both of them* The results: using these can help uneven skin tone, skin elasticity, texture, and dullness of the skin. So if you plan on using these ingredients together, check out my two favorite below and featured in my photo. Fourth Ray - Raydiate Vitamin C Elixir This version of vitamin c is a mix of a serum and a face oil, so you’ll have to shake it up to mix the two together. + this is light in consistency and absorbs nicely into the skin. + not tacky or sticky. + smells great + ACTUALLY WORKS. My favorite one yet! + lasts longer than most vitamin C serums (shelf life) + $16 GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum This GM serum is among the best and very affordable. + light weight and absorbs well into the skin + has a sticky texture, but is gone after it absorbs into the skin. + smooths our texture and brightens skin. + 10% Niacinamide + layers well with other serums and skincare. + $6

Caudalie serum, is it worth it? ✨
Caudalie serum, is it worth it? ✨
This serum is actually pretty great. Its great for sensitive skin and it has made my skin really really soft. I finally finished this serum after 7 months of use. Some things I’ve noticed with my skin over several months is definitely more hydrated, soft and a bit brighter. 1 week after using: I’ve felt my skin feel soft. About a month in of using the serum my face has felt way more hydrated and plump. I did notice it getting a bit brighter and even. A couple months in of using it I’ve seen my face a bit more brighter. I’ve had small sun spots on my face and they have gotten lighter and less pigmented over months. It’s a serum I’d recommend but the price point is a bit up there, it’s $79 for 1oz and $114 for 1.7 oz. if you have no problem with spending that much as a treat for yourself then you should give this a try since it has helped me.

I have been looking for a serum for awhile, until I found this little guy. I have been using this for almost 8 months now and is totally hooked!! My skin was the softest and dewiest it had ever been. Without makeup my face looks great and thanks to the new smoothness, makeup went on so well. I love how this smells - very citrusy and has very slight hints of ginger . The product is heavy and is more like a oil than a serum. Now , because of this I am only giving it a 4 star!! My one recommendation is to apply this at night before bed because your face is left a little sticky. An added bonus to this is when you wake up in the morning, your skin will be baby soft and ready to take on the day!Sweet CHEF - Ginger + Vitamin C Serum Shot

This vitamin C serum is one of my favorite serums. Usually vitamin c serums make my skin irritated. This one is gentle and effective. I’ve been using it for a little under a year and it’s really helped my skin look more even toned and this particular serum has other ingredients that help with hydration. It’s all around a great serum for everyday. VOLITION - Strawberry-C Brightening Serum

Radiate Vitamin C Serum
Radiate Vitamin C Serum
I’m a huge fan of vitamin C I believe it should be apart of everybody’s daily skincare routine! You can use a vitamin c serum in the morning to protect the skin or at night to repair the skin. If you use any vitamin C serum you have to wear spf, vitamin C is light sensitive and the spf will help the vitamin C from oxidizing from the skin. What are the benefits of vitamin C? Vitamin chelps brighten the skin, reduce redness, it promotes collagen production, and protects against free radical damage and pollution. There are so many options of vitamin C serums and so many different price points too. You just have to find one that works for you.

Product for fighting Pollution
Product for fighting Pollution
Everyday upon leaving our homes, we become susceptible to many skin damaging encounters. From the suns’ UV rays, to the spread of bacteria, to the constant exposure of environmental toxins + pollution in the air, we breath. According to *World Health Organization, your skin in New York smokes 12 cigarettes in ONE month. Pre-mature aging, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, loss of elastin + collagen, + uneven texture + tone are just a few side effects of these daily triggers. I understand that the common mind does not think about protecting their skin from the constant damage that we are exposed to, so MY job is to be the advocate for your skin + find the products to help you stay protected! Dose Skin provides a full spectrum against airborne allergens as well as indoor + outdoor pollutants, such as exhaust fumes, cigarette smoke, cleaning products, + harmful gases. It contains microorganisms such as Ectoin to preserve + strengthen, adaptogenic extracts + botanicals to protect, + barrier forming Biosaccharide Gum-4. I layer this serum with my CE Ferulic Antioxidant. It goes on as a second skin, prior to my makeup + sunscreen. My sensitive skin appreciates the fact that it is packed with nutrients such as barley grass, peptides, hyaluronic acid, spinach, arctic root + so much more! When ordering you are also able to purchase a “refill” for your canister rather than an entire new bottle! #cheriecreator
