Find the RIGHT foundation color - Warm Undertone
Do you have the experience when you are in Sephora for a foundation, there are 20+ shades available to you, you are suddenly out of an idea of what you are looking out for. How do you find the right color? First thing first you want to identify which kind of skin-tone category you would fit in to whether its light skin, light to medium, medium, medium to dark and dark. There are so many ways and “theories” to identify your undertones. Some say to check the color of veins, if its green then you are cold and if you are blue or purple then you are warm. I personally prefer this method - If you wear silver jewelry, you are more of a a cooler undertone and if you look good in gold jewelry you are more of a warmer undertone. 3 types of undertones : Cool, warm and neutral. The cool undertone is more on the red side and the warm undertone would be more on the yellow; and the neutral is a mix of the two. Today I want to use my sister as an example. She is sensitive dry and has medium warm undertones. Next is to identify your undertone. Here are my tips of finding the best foundation for a warm undertone. The fact is, the undertone is not fixed. Because my sister has a weird skin tone and can never find foundations that have a yellow undertone instead of pink. Sometimes you can be a little bit of a warm neutral or cool neutral or just neutral. I like to mix my own color. ARMANI beauty - Designer Lift Smoothing Firming Foundation SPF 20

TheHollyLamaI have truly neutral skin. But one of the things I have learned as I have gotten older is actually to not match exactly or go lighter. It is better to go a shade or two deeper than you normally would. Also, full coverage foundations aren't great for most women over 35. If you have a full coverage matte formula, matching is more important. If you have a light coverage skin finish or luminous, the slightly deeper color is much more forgiving.

My best foundations for dry skin
High moisturizing is the only thing I really care when I purchase foundation. My skin type is dry and a bit sensitive, so I need to make sure my foundation is moisturizing enough and not looks cakey and chapped. Armani Beauty: designer lift 02 $67 Armani is one of my favorite brands for foundation. The brand has many different types of foundations for different skin types and different effects. The one I bought is called designer lift. I LOVE this foundation so much; this is already my third time to repurchase. The texture is fluid, smooth and super fine, easy to blend, with medium coverage. Every time when I apply this foundation, I feel that my skin was glowing like hard a boiled egg. It does what the hype promises, and delivers SPF 20 sunscreen, which is I also love. One thing you need to know before you buy it: the color 2 is darker than color 3. Be careful when you choose the color tone. Lancome: Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation 40SN1Z 005 $47 I want to try something new for my foundation. And my friend recommends it to me. After I tried it, I fall in love with it. This also works well with dry skin. The formula feels super lightweight with medium coverage, long-wearing and liquid texture. It brightens my skin without looking greasy. The matte finish is also what I like about it. I would definitely recommend both foundations. The price range is a little bit different, you can choose what you could affordable. 5 stars for both!
Brand Spotlight : Armani
These are my favorite Armani makeup products that I own! Armani makeup is beautiful and seamless. Because it is a designer brand their products are pretty expensive but you are getting an amazing quality with them. Two of the foundations are the Luminous Silk foundations in the shades 5 and 5.25. In the middle is the Maestro Foundation in the shade 4. At the bottom is the amazing fluid primer and at the Top is the High Precision concealer in shade 3. Every single one of this products are amazing and give you the most about canvas to work on. I try to save these products for special occasion days because they are pricey but I feel so lux when I use them. These products are expensive but I highly recommend them 💗
My GO-TO Foundations for Different Seasons
My skin always behaves differently during different times of the year due to changes in the climate. Therefore, in order to achieve a perfect base makeup at all times, I alternate between foundations with different textures and slightly different shades to accommodate my skin conditions. My GO-TO foundation for summer: Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Water Fresh Makeup SPF 30 ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Nude Water Fresh Makeup SPF 30 My skin tends to become extra oily in the summer and I hate to put on heavy base makeup that ends up melting anyways in the hot weather. After trials of many foundations, I have settled for this product because of its watery texture that feels very light on the skin, yet, surprisingly long-lasting finish. Although the coverage is only light to medium, I still love the finish of this foundation because it blends beautifully into the skin, allowing me to achieve that my-skin-but-better effect. It is also great for occasions where you just want to have a natural and radiant look. This is absolutely one of my favourite foundations that I would definitely repurchase! Not to mention it has SPF 30, perfect to block out the harsh sunlight during summer times. My GO-TO foundation for seasonal changes: YSL Touche Éclat All-In-One Glow Foundation During seasonal changes, my skin would become dry and flaky, therefore, I always choose a hydrating foundation to prevent my base makeup from creasing and caking up. This product is my top pick because it is very hydrating and leaves a dewy finish that makes my skin look glowing and healthy. This foundation has a very unique texture: at first it is in a creamier texture but instantly turns watery when you spread it out, which feels very hydrating and refreshing. I am also truly impressed by its medium coverage given its thin texture! Most of the redness and blemishes on my face can be covered. However, the glow would highlight uneven skin texture, so I would not recommend it for people with this problem.

Only foundation I use
I like to think this foundation makes me look like a true Amazonian goddess. In reality it probably just helps me look like I’ve had enough sleep and enough water, but if that’s the best I can do right now, I’ll take it! Tarte is great at being eco friendly and using safe ingredients. They use no parabens, sulfates, mineral oil or gluten, as well as no triclosan, which I had to look up. (Triclosan is antibacterial and antimicrobial, but known as a hormone disrupted, similar to parabens). The packaging is cute and earthy and you get a decent amount for the price of $39. A bottle usually last me about 6 months. This foundation comes in 40 shades, which is way cool and seems to have warmth and cool variations from lightest to darkest. The texture is thick but fluffy and doesn’t seem to lay as heavy as some high coverage foundations. It does work well without a primer, which I would credit to the fluffiness being good at filling in wrinkles and scars, of which I have both, but not looking cakey. When I’m working I will easily wear this 12 hours straight and have a blow dryer blowing hot air back at me half the time, and somehow all my make up seems to stay put. I’m guessing because of the clay ingredient, it’s also amazing at soaking up oil as you go. tarte - Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation SPF 15 #cheriecreator

How to get flawless base makeup in summer!!
What you’ll need: a foundation brush, a primer that is light and easy to blend, a high-coverage foundation and an oil control setting powder My pursuit for the base makeup: as I have an oily-combo skin type, I would like my base makeup to be long lasting and not easily ruined by the oil and sweat that I will inevitable have on my face during the day. Besides, I would especially suffer from acne in the hot humid summer, so it would also be better if my acnes could get perfectly covered. What I’ve used and my thoughts: ·smashbox - Studio Skin Full Coverage 24 Hour Waterproof Foundation I love how this product provides full coverage and it could last a whole day, sometimes when I wear this foundation, as long as I moisturize well and set the foundation well, it still stays on place and give me an intact look after 9-10 hours. But the only problem with this foundation is that it tends to get dry quickly and it could be hard to blend. ·clé de peau BEAUTÉ - Correcting Cream Veil SPF 21 My go-to foundation when I pursue a natural and clean look. But these days it is not long-lasting enough and it could only provide light-to-medium coverage. So on important occasions, this alone is not enough. ·KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - Lock-It Finishing Powder This is my holy grail setting powder, only that the cushion that comes with it is not good enough. So I’ve changed it with something else I bought from CVS. You could also just use your brush or sponge to apply this powder on your face. It just blurs out every single shine resulting from oil on one touch. And I always carry it with me in summer to save my from being too shiny… Steps to follow: 1. Moisturize well before you apply any foundation products. This is always a must for any base makeup to look good and last long. 2. Blend the primer and the foundation in the ratio of 1:1 on hand. 3. Use the brush to dip the mixture and apply them on your face. You could also opt for a beauty blender if you are in want of a more natural look 4. Use the setting powder to set your foundation carefully and thoroughly. And voila, here is a base makeup that provides high coverage and lasts long.
