My Favorite under eye Concealer Tips👍
A eye concealer is a commonly used product for permanent blemishes and discolorations. Generally speaking, we want to use a concealer to mask dark circles, age spots, large pores and other small blemishes visible on the skin. And we know the skin around under eye area is more sensitive and thinner. Because of the eyes work a lot throughout the day, from blinking to expressing your emotions, this alone can cause premature aging - eye bags and dark circles. In fact, eye bags are harmless-yet-frustrating skincare woe most of us have had to deal with from Time to time. Concealing under eye area is not hard. I want to share how to conceal under eye areas. Concealing dark eye circles is kind of like a 3 step process 1. First thing first is to counteract the blue or deep purple bags. (If you go straight in with a highlighting concealer or light colored concealer, you are not actually concealing the dark areas underneath the eye since the darkness is still gonna show through) - this step is essential for those with really dark under eye circles. If you have light green circle you can skip this step. 2. Secondly go with a fair light concealer (based on your skin tone) normally you will need to find a color that is a little bit darker than your foundation. Apply it directly to the areas you want to cover with a brush. little by little. With a tiny brush like this, would help the thick concealer to blend out easily and look naturally. Less is more. If you are applying with bare fingers or a sponge, it would ended up with good coverage at the beginning but looks heavy and crease through out the day. 3. The you need to set all these in place by a loose powder. ( A translucent pressed powder would be a good choice here since you dont want to add too much extra product.) Just apply a fine amount underneath the eye just to set the previous steps in place. The product I’m using is LANCÔME - Effacernes Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer

Comparing popular Tarte concealers
I’ve tried every product and concealer under the sun when it comes to banishing my dark circles, and Shape tape is a bit of a HG to the beauty community so I couldn’t wait to finally find a product that solved all my problems tarte - Shape Tape Concealer Unfortunately shape tape wasn’t it. The formula is on the drier side which I had already heard before using it, that’s not the part that bothered me. But this concealer conceals nothing. Honestly I feel like it didn’t even make a dent in the circles under my eyes. Not only is it one of the most sheer concealers I’ve ever used but the dryness and difficulty to spread and layer make this product a major flop. Luckily I did find my absolute favorite, forever a repurchase concealer, it being; tarte - Maracuja Creaseless Undereye Concealer Just wow. This concealer is THICK in the best way possible. It’s creamy, it’s easy to blend, it’s easy to layer and best of all of conceals SO well! It’s truly a gift on earth to us dark circle girls. My disclaimer, no matter how good a concealer is I still always use a color correction product as a first step and in the photos pictured above I did NOT do that step for the purpose of showing the differences in concealers.

Don't always say you can't cover dark circles, maybe you just miss the right tool
I have dark circles under my eyes, but recently I found an amazing product that can perfectly cover them. I can't wait to share it with you! I used to apply concealer with my fingers, but I found that the effect was not obvious. After that, I read the online tutorial and bought a sponge to apply concealer. I didn't know whether the sponges I chose was wrong or what, the concealer could not be evenly applied. A few days ago, I used a friend's eye concealer brush and I knew what the problem was. It turned out that I had been using the wrong tool. I should choose concealer brush!!! Now let's talk about the specific steps of covering dark circles. 1. Use orange concealer to neutralize skin color first, or use a matte lipstick you have. 2. Dip the concealer brush in concealer and apply a small amount of it on your dark circles, and repeat the steps until they are totally convered. Remeber that you should choose creamy concealer, or you can't use the brush. 3. Use setting prowder with this concealer brush. Don't say your concealer is not good anymore! Just buy an eye concealer brush!
Concealer mistakes I used to make
The biggest under eye concealer mistake I used to make was NOT using a color corrector before applying concealer. The first photo I applied concealer directly and the under eye circles are still quite prominent In the second photo the only difference is I first applied a color corrector to the dark areas of the circles, then afterwards dabbing the concealer on top. I think you can see a very noticeable difference between the two pictures! tarte - Maracuja Creaseless Undereye Concealer best. Concealer. Ever. Kaja - Cat Nap Under Eye Brightener This is not my usual color corrector but I decided to try something new. It’s a bit too dark for my skin tone but it still works! It’s also a little too thin and watery for my liking overall.

Who needs sleep when I have this?
The BECCA - Under Eye Brightening Corrector really helps me achieve a natural makeup look! It’s almost like a balm in texture and has a light salmon color. The light salmon color is perfect for canceling out dark circles for people of my skin tone! It really brightens without having to add a thick layer of concealer which can look super heavy! I would recommend this for anyone with fair/light to medium complexions who love having easy to apply, reliable and natural base makeup. FYI this does need to be set with a powder or it will be crease city!

Baby’s First Color-Correcting Palette
Okay, I have never used a color correcting palette before. So, the other day while I was browsing Ulta, I decided to grab a really cheap one. (This is JCat Cosmetics Quad Palette). The photos I’ve posted in order are: during the color correction process (duh), a before photo, two after photos (one with just concealer and bb cream, the other with my regular day to day makeup). Here are my thoughts, this palette is not great. It has a bit of a chalky finish and it takes A LOT to get good coverage (I didn’t expect much since it cost about five bucks and I’ve never heard of this company before). HOWEVER! I do think I will eventually get a better palette, because I did notice some nice differences, particularly with red reduction from the green cream. I just need something that is a little higher quality and that can help tame my very persistent eye circles. Anyone have good recommendations for palettes to try next??

Battle of the Concealers
Last week, I rated the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer and today I decided to compare it to the Smashbox Studio Finish Flawless Concealer I received a few days later. The Maybelline retails for $10 and the Smashbox is $26 at Ulta, though I paid $16 from Zulily.. Both are medium coverage, buildable concealers. The Maybelline has a better applicator and is easier to apply just the right amount, which you can see in the second picture. (Maybelline right, Smashbox left) Both concealers are a good weight for aging skin and don’t settle into fine lines. However, once everything is blended in, Smashbox is the clear winner. It covers my dark circles much better. That’s not to say the Maybelline is a bad product. I will probably still purchase if I am at the drugstore and need to pick up a concealer.
