Summer Top Picks!☀️
As a combo, I really do not enjoy summer time. I found my skin condition is really unstable during summer times due to humidity and temperature. Oily and easily breakout. These three are my favorite skincare products that bring my skin back to life during summer. The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane

SPF Rx - Dual C + E + F Great daily serum, makes my skin glow! SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum Almost sunscreen-like texture and smell. Not super appealing but feels protecting! BYROE - Bell Pepper Serum Very hydating, but doesn’t seem like anything special. A bit hard to get it out of the applicator - and a little bit does not go a long way. 111SKIN - Cryo Atp Sports Booster Nice feeling, not sure how necessary of a product it is, especially since I rarely work out 😂 EARTH HARBOR - Luna Lei Phyto-Resurfacing Night Serum Feels a little tingly, which makes me think it’s doing something 😄 nice smell too. #The Dirty Lamb - Ultra Night Serum[products]#[FourStars] I add to my moisturizer for extra hydration, just 1 or 2 drops. A bit oily, didn’t enjoy on its own - made me break out. The applicator is also very drippy. #Delia Organics - Dew Drops Serum[products]#[ThreeStars] Again, kind of oily, especially for a day serum. I still use sometimes, though, mixed in with my day cream for a more refreshed look.
Just a golden hour skin update 😍
COVID & quarantine have taught me a lot- most importantly being how essential it is to be consistent in order to see skincare results. Before the stay at home orders I had no consistent routine and just grabbed whatever & incorporated all kinds of stuff I didn’t need or my skin didn’t like. I’ve learned to keep it simple & stick to & switch between only a few things!! Which Retinoid should you use?
Retinoids are talked about as the best topical for most skin concerns. It does everything from reduce acne to reducing wrinkles! But it gets confusing with so many different forms of retinoids. They all have the same benefits, but some are just more powerful than others. The more potent it is, the more potential for irritation, so try starting with a less potent and less irritating retinoid like a Retinyl Ester and then switch to a more potent one like Retinol after a few months! HOW TO USE Retinoids can be used up to once every day, but this might be too strong for some and could cause some irritation. Try starting with just 1x per week, then gradually increase if you don't experience any signs of irritation. You definitely don't need to use more active ingredients on top of retinoids, but you can (doesn't mean you should). Just be cautious of using other active ingredients while also using retinoids, avoid using them in the same routine and try alternating them instead. They can be applied in a few different places in your skincare routine depending on your skin tolerance. Ideally, actives like retinoids are applied first after cleansing, however, this can also increase chances of irritation. If you experience irritation, you can try "buffering" (apply moisturizer first, then retinoid) or "sandwiching" (apply moisturizer first, then retinoid, then more moisturizer) and reduce the frequency. Below are some example products for each type to help you choose. REMEMBER, retinoids make you more sensitive to the sun and the sun undoes the benefits, so make sure to WEAR SUNSCREEN! Retinoic Acid Prescription Tretinoin (use as directed by the prescriber) Retinal Avène - RetrinAL ADVANCED Wrinkle Corrector Medik8 - Crystal Retinal Retinol The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalane The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane Medik8 - INTELLIGENT RETINOL PAULA'S CHOICE - 1% Retinol Booster Neutrogena - Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum stratia - Night Shift Retinyl Ester The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane #Dr. Sam’s - Flawless Nightly Serum[products]# THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum(Contains both Retinol and the Ester) #CheriePartner
Hyram Approved😍The Ordinary or The Inkey List? Which is the BEST?
The Ordinary and The Inkey List are getting a lot more popular recently because of how affordable they are. In this post, I will give you the answer from Hyram through the ingredients evaluation and his own experience. Niacinamide: treats so many skin problems, such as redness and sensitivity, dark spots and hyperpigmentation, controlling the oiliness in the skin, etc. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%($6) VS. THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum ($7): Ingredient Winner: The Inkey List: in addition to Niacinamide, it contains a lot more incredible ingredients, like Radish Root Ferment to soothe sensitivity, Squalene to hydrate the skin, Sodium Hyaluronate is a concentrated form of hyaluronic acid, Soybean Oil to retain skin moisturized Experience & Performance Winner: The Ordinary: super lightweight and sinks into the skin easier, great for people who have combination to oily skin. Whereas The Inkey List product has a thicker consistency with a heavier layer on the surface of skin, great to dry to normal skin. You can choose any from them based on your own skin type. Retinol: a powerful ingredient to repair multiple types of damage within the skin, including acne scars, pigmentation, fine line, aging, sun damage, etc. The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane($6) VS. THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum($10)Ingredient Winner: Tied. The Inkey List claims to have 1% retinol but actually 0.5% retinol and 0.5% hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, with is an ester of retinoic acid (an extremely powerful anti-aging and repairing product)Overall: The Ordinary is better because of how many options of retinol at different concentrations they have for a variety of skin types. Retinol can cause a lot of sensitivity if you’re not careful with the concentration Experience & Performance Winner: The Inkey List: No heavy feeling, easy to spread, very effective but non-sensitizing. However, The Ordinary products don’t feel very easy to apply. Hyaluronic Acid: helps to hydrate and condition your skin THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum($8) VS. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 ($7)Ingredient Winner: Tied. The Inkey List contains Peptides to help soothe and plump the skin, Glycerin to draw in moisture, and radish root ferment. The Ordinary has Ahnfeltia Cocinna Extract to hydrate the skin. Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid): brighten pigmentation and dark spots, protect against free radical damage throughout the day. While it is a very unstable ingredient, it could be very effective when it’s put in a stable formula. Ingredient Winner: The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone($7): It’s a water-free formula, but also has squalene, coconut alkanes, which is great for hydrating and moisturizing the skin. Experience & Performance Winner: THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Brightening Cream($10): very lightweight on the skin, and Hyram never had sensitivity while using this product. Glycolic Acid: dissolves all the dead skin cells off the surface of your skin to make your skin glow and hydrated Ingredient Winner: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution($9): the primary ingredients have Glycerin, a bunch of different amino acids, and Panax Ginseng Root Extract to support the health of the skin Experience & Performance Winner: THE inkey LIST - Glycolic Acid Liquid Toner 100ml($11): no sensitivity reaction but still effective for exfoliating the face Cleaners: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser($8)THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser($10), THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm ($10), THE inkey LIST - Oil and Water Double Cleanser($10)Ingredient Winner: The Inkey List Experience & Performance Winner: The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm ($10): incredible for moving sunscreen, oil, and dirt from the face Moisturizers: Winner: THE inkey LIST - Hemp Oil Cream Moisturiser ($13): good for reducing redness; THE inkey LIST - Snow Mushroom Hydrating Gel Moisturizer($10): great for reducing sensitivity; THE inkey LIST - Multi-Biotic Balancing Moisturizer($13): great for healing the healthy bacteria count on your skin The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA($8): it is good but in comparison to The Inkey List it just doesn’t stand out Check the link below to watch more from Hyram, and let me know if you have any thoughts.💖💖 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Znd29c8mTo&feature=emb_title
💖My secret UV protection weapon💖
I've purchased all four of the following sunscreens at least twice. I highly recommend them! Kiehl's Ultra-Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA++++ Anti-Pollution (I personally think that it's suitable for dry skin, so if you have oily skin, test it out before buying it) Feeling: I've read online that it provides great UV protection. I never stay in the sun for too long and I only used it during daily work, but my skin did not darken. It has a runny consistency with a lotion texture which spreads easily on the skin but settles on the skin slowly. I think it's more suitable for fall and winter use. For spring and summer, I'll also replace the moisturizer or facial cleanser with this sunscreen after using a toner and a serum for an even greater moisturizing effect. It brightens skin complexion and gives it a natural radiance. It also blends well with follow-up foundation when it's used as a primer. Murad - City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 / PA++++ (Suitable for all skin types) Feeling: It has a correction liquid texture which is very lightweight and spreads easily. It evens out skin tone and brightens skin complexion, making it suitable for those who have places to go to but don't want to wear makeup. CLARINS - UV PLUS Anti-Pollution Sunscreen Multi-Protection Tint SPF 50(Suitable for all skin types) Feeling: It has the same correction liquid texture as the Murad sunscreen, is very lightweight, and spreads easily as well, making it suitable to be used all year round. It has three shades including transparent, pink, and blue. After using and comparing the transparent and pink ones, I strongly recommend the pink one which helps even out and lighten skin tone. AMPLEUR - Luxury White W Protect UV Plus SPF 50+ PA++++ (Suitable for all skin types) Feeling: It has more of a lotion texture when compared with Kiehl's sunscreen, but it really spreads very easily. It's refreshing and doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy, settling on the skin fast. It's very moisturizing, so it's suitable for use all year round.
Remember! The secret of anti-aging lies in sun protector!
Before 18, I really ignored the demand for ultraviolet protection. Until one day I went to consult my dermatologist, she told me how important the application of sun cream it, I suddenly realized what a fool I was not doing anything to protect my skin under the big sun. Avoidance and Protection are the two basic steps of reducing sun damage. And this will postpone aging. Therefore, now sun cream becomes a daily routine for me and I’m here to recommend three top sun creams I find necessary to share. 1. CHANEL LE BLANC MAKEUP BASE CHANEL - LE BLANC LIGHT CREATOR BRIGHTENING MAKEUP BASE SPF 40/PA +++ This is an SPF 40 protector. Lightly tinted to give the skin beauty and natural-looking color. I recommend this because it is convenient to carry and the 2-1 function helps me to protect against and improves my tone without catching other’s attention. The texture is a little bit sticky but after application, it quickly forms films within seconds. So it is really suitable to carry outside. I’m lazy, so this has been on top of my list. 2.ISDIN Fusion water fotoprotector ISDIN - Fusion Water Sunscreen SPF 50+ Oil-Free This is SPF 50 and oil-free. In summer, I usually feel so hot and I don’t wanna anything too heavy on my face. This one is extremely lightweight and gives me a sense of freshness the moment I apply it. Very easy to spread and does not influence the makeup. Definitely a good one to use when I need to wear makeup in summer. 3. Clarins UV PLUS ANTI-POLLUTION CLARINS - UV PLUS Anti-Pollution Sunscreen Multi-Protection Tint SPF 50 This one is known to cover the full-wave band and protects our skin not only from the harsh sun but also from environmental particles and pollutes. I have mentioned I’m lazy. If one product can have multiple functions, I will fall in love with it. This one is also lightweight and has a good smell. Those three are sold at ＄68，＄21 and ＄34. The latter two are more economical, but I still rank Chanel on top for its perfect experience it provides to me.
Over a month ago @skinceuticalsca sent over these beautiful serums plus their 0.5 retinol for me to use and share with you all! Honestly, I had high expectations knowing these are medical grade products and how highly rated they come.... but they somehow exceeded these high expectations! I am shocked at how smooth my skin is. That was the first thing I noticed. My skin was so smooth like a babies bottom and the texture was virtually gone. My redness and scarring was half of what it was only two weeks in and the pimples stopped coming! I know that blemish defence is the main product to thank for my clear skin since it’s stopping the acne from forming and then it’s clearing up the rough texture and clogs that we’re deep in my skin. Next C E Ferulic is heaven sent. It’s 100% plumping up my skin with the extra collagen production, my skin is brighter and I have a soft look to my skin. I’m not quite glowing as I wish as my skin still suffers dryness, but I know having the antioxidant protection is saving my skin. The discolouration defence is iffy. I was hoping to see my acne scars vanish with it, but maybe I just need to use up the bottle and keep going! I’ve read mixed reviews, but I’m still hopeful. After a month of just the serums I decided to try the retinol (not pictured) and HOLY GUACAMOLE! My skin was definitely dried out and after a pretty severe stress breakout, it actually brought down a line of cysts on my jaw in two uses. It’s a strong retinol that works quick. I didn’t even have any irritation or flakiness, just some reasonable dryness. It’s a beautiful creamy texture that soaks in nicely and feels nice under my thick night moisturizer. All in all, I am a HUGE SkinCeuticals fan now. I have since purchased many other products and I continue to be shocked at just how good and worth it they are. I have the best skin of my life despite life throwing me curve balls and trying to ruin it.
SKINCEUTICALS-Blemish + Age Defense
The latest "it" product to keep your skin young
When this product hit the market, I was hearing about it left and right. I finally got my hands on it and have been using it for about a month and omg... my skin. It's honestly transformative. It's a small bottle that's jam packed with antioxidants like vitamin C and E, and paired with ferulic acid to help maximize antioxidant performance. The packaging tells you to apply 4-5 drops in the morning after cleansing your skin, but I usually do about 6-7 drops every morning on clean skin because I apply it to my neck area as well. You can apply your moisturizer and sunscreen after. The consistency of the product is semi-dry. It's not watery or serum like, but more like a dry oil. It dries quickly so you want to make sure you quickly pat it onto your skin or it'll get absorbed by the skin on your hands. It has a very light scent, doesn't aggravate my skin either and I have sensitive skin. I also have acne prone skin and this does not make me break out. I can honestly say that after a month of use my skin looks brighter, healthier, and just fresh and dewy. a 1 oz bottle runs for $166. So it is on the pricier side, but it's honestly so worth it. I've always trusted the brand as all of their products are very science driven. Everything has been heavily tested so I know that it will usually perform on my skin as stated on the container. If you have dark sun spots, or want to tighten your skin, this is always a great product for that. It's honestly a holy-grail bottle that can address so many different skin concerns. I think it's a must in any skincare regime. SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum

Gentle & Effective
or Christmas I got my Mom this retinol serum. I ended up getting it for her through the FabFitFun add-ons with a cleanser as well. As of now she’s absolutely loving it. I am too (I use it every time I’m visiting home, shh don’t tell 🙈). She uses it 2 times a week and has reported her skin feeling brighter and softer. For reference, my mother has deep acne scars, large pores, and oily skin that is starting to show signs of aging. I use it a couple days in a row every two weeks or so. During the first “round” I did get a bit of redness but after that passed I would wake up with my skin feeling softer and less textured. When I get a chance, I’m purchasing one of these for myself. The serum contains Retinol, Swertia flower extract, and hyaluronic acid (yay!). Retinol is listed near the top. The product also contains dimethicone and other ingredients which help soothe and hydrate the skin. (FYI dimethicone is a silicone. Silicones do not block pores! Silicones can actually be more beneficial to skin compared to other plant oils etc.) In any case, this product is jam-packed with goodies. The very last ingredient is fragrance but thankfully, I can’t smell it and it hasn’t irritated me. Murad is also cruelty-free!

Farmacy Very Cherry Bright Serum
I have been using this product for about a month now. I absolutely love the consistency and the cherry scent! I use this morning and night for added brightness and to reduce the appearance of my acne scars. I have combination skin. I also have very sensitive skin and this has never been irritating. This is the first product I have tried from this brand and it makes me want to try many more! Uh huh honey 🍯
FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum one of my newest faves to help combat hyperpigmentation. x this product retails for 58 USD and is targeted as a three in one serum to help exfoliate dead skin cells, reduce the appearance of pores/wrinkles/fine lines and you guessed it, target hyperpigmentation. x as you can see from the texture and color, it’s a serum and a light honey gold color. I personally would say it’s lightweight and doesn’t have a tacky finish to it. It will tingle though! Fair warning. x I have had my eyes on this since it came out on the market and full disclosure, this is a gifted product. I have been using it for about 3 weeks now, maybe 4. I use it about 2-3 times a week and that’s because I have built up a tolerance to using chemical exfoliants. x this has given me the glowiest skin ever, like it’s honestly amazing. After the first night using this, my skin looked so much brighter and happy in the morning. it hasn’t broken me out or irritated my skin to the point where I can’t use this which is a plus. x my biggest concerns are of course always hyperpigmentation and fun story — a little before I got this, I got the worst bug bite on my chin it honestly looked gross and it scarred pretty bad. cue using this product — it has helped reduce the appearance so much and so fast!! I was feeling really self conscious about it and this is definitely helping. I’m hoping a few more months of this and it will be hardly noticeable! x comparing it to other products similar (drunk elephant baby facial for example) I would recommend this. First, it’s cheaper and it’s not as harsh and I think more people would be able to use this and get great results. Also, the brand is amazing. x there is no overnight miracle product but this sure is close and will make you feel so happy, glowy and just more beautiful than you already are :) Farmacy, thanks for the chance to test this out and thanks for making another great product!
FARMACY-Honeymoon Glow Serum
Farmacy Honeymoon Glow
FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum The Farmacy beauty honeymoon glow serum contains a 14% blend of AHA and BHA which helps exfoliate, moisturize, targets hyperpigmentation, fine lines and the appearance of pores. This product sells for 58$ and contains 30ml. The texture is very lightweight and creamy, just like a light moisturizer. Once applied, a slight tingly feeling is completely normal and should go away after a couple of seconds or minutes. I used it for a couple of months now and I use it 2 times a week now, since my skin is very sensitive. It did not irritate my skin at all, did not break me out and simply made my skin super glowy and exfoliated after the first use! This can definitely help uneven skin texture and dullness a lot. I really like that it’s gentle enough for my sensitive skin and you can almost feel it work immediately. I always wake up with an amazing glow and I would recommend this product to everyone. I definitely think this is a product that you should patch test first, because your skin might react to it. 58$ is a high price in my opinion but actually worth it and I barely ever say that. It’s just an amazing product that everyone should try!
