A luxurious experience
STARSKIN - Cream de La Créme Vip Instantly Recovering Luxury Cream Coated Sheet Face Mask The Cream de La Creme luxury coated face mask features a double layer of sheets to maximize the products efficiency. The top layer is a shield (and is covered in a star design), while the second layer is a super-concentrated delivery system of “half a jar” of moisturizer. The description on the website states that this method allows you to “force feed dry and depleted skin.” I’m actually a huge fan of this double layer- it’s not messy or drippy, it doesn’t slide down my face; and the cocoa, tomato, and broccoli extract nourish my skin. This is a very pricy sheet mask at $15 a pop, but I would happily welcome more of these into my stash.

One of my all-time favorite masks
If you follow me on Instagram you know some call me the mask queen, and you also know I love my shower masks. The bliss - Mint Chip Mania Mask is super affordable at $15 a jar, and my skin absolutely loves it. It is soothing and hydrating while also providing a cooling sensation from the peppermint oil. My favorite way to use this has been applying it to clean skin before I step into a hot shower- even if I stay extra long under the warm water, this keeps my face from getting too red and doesn’t let my face lose moisture. I am on my third jar, and I will continually repurchase it.

Lip Talk With Pat McGrath
Calling all nude lip lovers, the PAT McGRATH LABS - LUST: Mini MatteTrance Lipstick Trio May be perfect for you. Featuring mini lipsticks in the shades 1995, omi, and flesh3, there is a nude for everyone. I love that the mini packaging mimics the full-size tubes, but the quality of the packaging wasn’t the same- one of my lipsticks came detached from the bottom after only a few uses. I still recommend them if you love a matte lip- these have good staying power and were comfortable to wear. Just be gentle, and find your new favorite matte lipstick shade.

My trick for making my eyes pop!
When I really want to accentuate my eyes, I never reach for just *one* mascara. I want to have my cake and eat it to, so I love cocktailing multiple mascara to get the best volume, length, and curl I can. Sometimes this results in clumpy lashes, sometimes it results in lash perfection. Here I am wearing the MAC - In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara which gave good length to my lashes but not a lot of lift. The curled wand from the butter LONDON - Oh My, How High! Lengthening Mascara mascara really brought in the curl and lift to my lashes so that they look full and long. This is my go-to trick to making my eyes pop when I’m doing my makeup!

Swipe for a surprise!
Kisses, everyone! Virtual ones of course since we need to stay safe during this Covid19 madness. stila - Huge Extreme Mascara Black is a $23 mascara that promises to add major volume, length, curl, lift and intense black color. With a few coats, I would say that description is spot on! It does give me good volume and curl to my lashes along with an inky black pigment. This will slightly smudge on me throughout the day, and I do have to be careful when I’m applying otherwise it’ll clump. But mascara is the number one thing I need when I really want to make my eyes pop, and this one by stila does a great job.

Heavy duty hand cream
THE BODY SHOP - Hemp Hand Protector What it is: a heavy duty hand cream made with hemp seed oil to nourish dry skin What it costs: $6 for 1 oz What I think: this is truly a heavy duty hand cream. I am rough with my hands and cuticles and forget to use hand creams regularly, so this this actually perfect when my hands are beat up and I finally remember to give them some love. I love how affordable this is, and that this is safe for sensitive skin.

When Beauty 10:00 pm mask
When beauty is a K-Beauty brand that boasts intelligent skincare for a spa experience at home. I recently tried their 10:00 pm sheet mask. It is made with a coconut bio-cellulose. It contains vitamin C, Lipponene, amino acids, and collagen to revive tired skin. The mask was soaked in lots of essence and provided a cooling hydrating sensation on the skin. It really felt like a treat. I left the mask on for 20 minutes and used a jade roller on top to really enhance the absorption of the essence. The mask was really well fitting and did not slip around my face, it stayed put. It stayed moist and didn’t dry out. I liked that the bio-cellulose is biodegradable. I had a really enjoyable experience with this mask. After removal, I massaged the essence into my skin and noticed it looked really plumped and hydrated. I took a star off because the essence was a little sticky after. The mask is sold for $7 each or a pack of 4 for $28. This mask was gifted. When - 10:00 PM Sheet Mask (Single or Box of 4) —

Gentle, moisturizing lip scrub
The Bite Beauty whipped cherry lip scrub is a potted exfoliant for lips. I got this while I was at the Lip Lab making custom lipstick shades, it came as part of the service. Otherwise, it retails for $18. While the scrub is a solid balm, it does have a texture that feels light and airy, like it’s whipped. I like the subtle cherry scent of the product too. It uses “natural exfoliating beads” that are comprised of jojoba, caranuba, and beeswax. Because the exfoliating bits are made of wax, they are very soft and gentle. Personally I like my lip scrubs to be a bit more abrasive so that they really get smooth, however someone who is looking to a more gentle alternative to a scrub made with sugar or salt crystals would enjoy this one I think. The scrub also contains fruit extract and olive oil which help to condition the lips. I think I would actually prefer the formula as a mask without the exfoliating bits, because it does a really nice job of moisturizing the lips. The exfoliating beads just add a messy grittyness, that are not as effective as I would like. Good for someone looking for a gentle scrub Pass if you like a more substantial scrub. I’d rather get coal than Colourpop Mascara
I’d rather get coal than Colourpop’s BFF Mascara, because I think coal would smudge less on my face! This mascara is very affordable at $8. I am a big fan of Colourpop, so I had high hopes for this, but sadly I was disappointed. The mascara applied decently and I was able to create nice volume on my lashes. However the formula dried and became very crusty on the lash. I thought it was all good the first time I wore it, but after a few hours I noticed some fall out on my cheeks (which never happens to me with mascara). When I went to wipe it away, it left BLACK STREAKS across my face. I was hoping it was a rare fluke so tried the mascara again, and every time the same thing happened. It was awful!!! Honestly, save your $8 and pick up a mascara from the drugstore. There are way better options!! I am sad because I’m a huge mascara fan and a huge Colourpop fan, however his was a big miss for me! Hopefully they can improve the formula!! COLOURPOP - BFF Mascara
A mist for all seasons
Avène Eau Thermale is an aerosol mist that contains spring water. The water is captured at the source to preserve its qualities that bring softness to the skin and soothe the skin. This mist is perfect to use in the summer when it is super hot outside. I keep one of these in my bag and it is a little spritz of heaven. In the winter, my skin tends to dehydrated more, so I like to use Eau Thermale in between skincare steps to make sure that TEWL is minimized. It is especially great to use prior to a hyaluronic avid rich serum. This mist is also a saviour when travelling. I like to use it to keep my skin hydrated and refreshed on airplanes. The mini size is a must have in any travel bag! The mist retails for $14 (5 oz) and $18.50 (10.5 oz) While I can definitely understand not wanting to pay so much for bottled water, this product really works! I took off a star for the price. Light weight hydrating cream
DRUNK ELEPHANT - F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask 💦 Drop an F-Balm 😅 F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial is the newest release from Drunk Elephant. It is a supercharged overnight mask that works to boost hydration. It is packed with electrolytes to rehydrate your skin while niacinamide, squalane, ceramides, and fatty acids work to strengthen the acid mantle of the skin and lock in moisture. Drunk Elephant suggests to use this as the last step in your routine. It has a light texture, lighter than I would have expected to be honest, and contains little white capsules of vitamin F that burst when you apply it. It feels very refreshing on application and definitely reminds me of a water cream texture rather than a heavy mask. It has the same great “drink of water” feeling that you’d get from B Hydra. I do think that naming this as a mask is a bit confusing. My experience with F-Balm has been really positive! I’ve tried it a number of ways, both over and under moisturizer. I do prefer it over moisturizer as I find it is less sticky this way. It really “seals” in your night routine when used this way as well. I typically use 3-ish pumps. The first time I tried it I was shocked how quickly it absorbed into my skin. I think I was expecting more of an occlusive feeling from F-Balm, as that’s what I’ve grown accustom to with other sleeping masks, but I liked how this didn’t feel tacky at all. My skin still feels super hydrated after it’s absorbed, it doesn’t leave me wanting more or feeling like I need to reapply. When I wake up, my skin still feels hydrated and has a nice plumpness. I think it would be killer layered with B Hydra, but unfortunately my B Hydra ran out just before receiving F-Balm, so I’ve not been able to test them together. F-Balm is DE’s first launch of the year and I’m excited to see what else they have in store! F-Balm retails for $52 USD or $68 CAD This product was kindly gifted by the brand.
