Hair masks that work
I actually got into Soulfood years ago when my hairdresser actually gave me a sample after my (somewhat) regular hair appointment (I go once a year 🙃). I tried it on and immediately after the first use I fell in love, and so not long afterwards, I purchased it myself ☺️ and even though I use it quite infrequently (I’m way better with skin maintenance than hair maintenance) I’m still in love with it and it will probably be the only hair mask I ever buy again!

I’ll start of by saying I love amika and their entire product line. This product however is not my favorite by them. This is a moisturizing cream that can be used on wet or dry hair to add some extra moisture. It is designed to help dry stands retain moisture and give it some extra shine, plus it helps fight frizz. The texture is very liquidy for a cream and comes out almost watery. It of course has the amika smell which is amazing and does not weigh my hair down. I received this as a sample in one of my subscription boxes and used it daily for three weeks before it ran out. A little goes a long way. To be honest I didn’t notice much difference between my hair when using and not using this product. I would still give it 4 stars because it was a nice leave in and made my hair smell amazing. I’m normally blown away by all amika products but this one did not do that for me. The full size is $25 and I don’t think I would realistically pay that for it.amika: - First Base Moisturizing Styling Cream
FIRST IMPRESSION ON SOME AMIKA PRODUCTS
Today I wanted to share a little first impressions on the repair shampoo and conditioner and the reset exfoliating jelly shampoo from @amika A little background on my hair: I have very oily hair and I usually have to wash my hair every other day even if I use dry shampoo. Before quarantine I would use heat on my hair at least 5 times a week so my hair is pretty damaged. I have always used shampoo and conditioner from Walmart or target never thought there was a reason to buy more expensive hair products. Which now I can see the difference after using these products. - - - Reset exfoliating jelly shampoo ($25): so far I really like this product. I have never used a scalp scrub ever so this was new to me. Because my hair is so oily I thought using this would help get all the dirt and build up out of my hair which it did. I would use once a week or every two weeks. - - - Repair shampoo and conditioner (full size $22): so far I really like them. The shampoo lathered really well and my hair felt very clean. The conditioner was nice and left my hair really soft. - - - Overall I really liked these products. I love the packaging and they have the typical amika scent which I love and need it in a candle. I used these products on Thursday and my hair didn’t get oily until Sunday which is crazy to me sense I usually have to wash my hair every other day.
I want to give a huge shoutout to two of my favorite pink products by Amika • Reset Pink Charcoal Scalp Cleansing Oil I use this right before I wash my hair to get rid of product buildup. It’s an oil to foam pre-wash that does wonders for my hair. I love that this has a pointed tip for precise application. I section my hair and make sure I place this all around my scalp and massage the product in while my hair is dry and then I hop into the shower and rinse it out and follow it with shampoo! • Reset Exfoliating Jelly Shampoo My shampoo of choice is this baby right here! This has made such a difference in my hair. I use it once a week to reset my hair and remove buildup. This contains pink clay and sea salt to detoxify as well as exfoliate. The sea salt pieces are so effective but not too abrasive and I find they wash out pretty easily. This also has a pointed tip so it’s easy to get it close to the scalp! After that I follow with my favorite conditioner. This combo leaves my hair feeling so soft and shiny. It effectively removes the buildup from all my dry shampoo and product use and gives me amazing volume. I look forward to using these weekly! They are a must if you use a lot of hair products or experience a dryer scalp in the winter. I love them so much!
This cleansing oil is a pre wash step and I think when used in line with the rest of the amika reset line it works wonders. You apply this directly to your scalp on dry hair and work it in to your hair. It helps reset and remove any build up that is left from daily product use. I have really liked the results I have seen from this and it is another great product from them. The texture is very gel like and pretty thick. I would recommend this anyone with semi oily hair who needs a good deep cleanse to their scalp. amika: - Reset Pink Charcoal Scalp Cleansing Oil
Amik Reset line
This is my first time trying shampoo and conditioner (as well as an oil cleanser) from @amika and I have to say, I’m pleasantly surprised! The reset line is supposed to deep clean the hair by removing all the products (mouses, oils, dry shampoos) and dirt from it. These products are supposed to be used once a week to reset your hair, but if you have very oily hair, you can use it as you see fit. Personally, I use it about 2/3 times a week, because my hair can get oily pretty quick. . The shampoo smells super clean and a bit of peppermint. Foams up easily and leaves the hair feeling refreshed and clean, but not too clean. The conditioner is creamy, but very light and not at all heavy. It also smells a little it of peppermint. As far as oil cleanser, I am still not 100% sure if it works for me. I’ve tried to use a little bit of it, then a lot, and in both cases I don’t feel it do anything for my hair or scalp. If you’ve used it and liked it, let me know how you use it! . Personally, I’m very happy with this line. I love how the shampoo and conditioner duo leaves my hair feeling. Each time I use them, it’s like a fresh start for my hair. I think this line is amazing for people who have oily hair, or use a lot of products in their hair. This does an amazing job at deep cleaning and refreshing the hair. Hair Mask that bring life back into my hair
#amikagiftedme soul food nourishing mask . If your hair is especially dry, this one’s for you! . For some unknown reason, my hair has been getting really dry lately. I haven’t changed much in my haircare routine, so I’m thinking maybe it’s the weather? Either way, it is what it is, and now I have to deal with it somehow. . This mask already had me at the word ‘nourishing’, but the fact that it has jojoba oil really sealed the deal for me. Both my skin and hair love jojoba oil, so I knew this would be good. And you know what, it is good! Just after the first use, my hair felt much softer and hydrated, and stayed that way for a while. I didn’t have to dunk it in oil to keep it from feeling like hay. . It’s quite thick, almost as thick as your average body cream, but it spread through hair with no problems. I let it sit on my hair from around 6-7 minutes, wash it off and don’t follow with conditioner. The mask gives enough hydration. . Let me know what you use to keep your hair hydrated and nourished. I need all the recommendations I can get 😂 . . . . gifted #cheriecreatoramika: - Soulfood Nourishing Mask
Hair mask? Could be a fun treat!
Ooooooh! So I generally think that hair masks tend to weigh my hair DOWN. I have super thing, medium long hair, and it gets weighed down super easy. But this one keeps me looking dapper without being weighed down so I don’t look like a grease ball after a day. Is it a daily requirement? Nope. Is it still fun and makes me feel like a queen, yes. Could be worth it for a special day! #cheriecreator amika: - Soulfood Nourishing Mask
Obsessing over amika’s release, the Supernova moisture and shine cream! This product is so versatile in which it can be used on wet or dry hair! For wet hair it acts like a leave in conditioner and also provides heat protection. For dry hair you can apply a little to your ends for extra bounce and shine or use it to tame frizz! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Supernova has already become a huge staple in my hair care routine. My hair looks so much healthier and my ends are way more hydrated. This is a must have as we go into the hot months for sure! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I usually apply this to wet hair. After showering and brushing my hair I will rub a quarter sized amount in my hands and then pull it through my hair while concentrating on the ends. I find it helps my hair to dry with those healthy looking ends as if you just got a hair cut! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ PS use the Soulfood hair mask in the shower before applying the Supernova shine cream when your hair is in serious need of a pick me up! This will help restore shine and body ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Amika is The Bomb
I don’t think I have ever come across a brand that I absolutely have truly loved every product I’ve come across except Amika!!!! They have seriously so many amazing haircare products for all kinds of hair types and hair issues!!! They all work differently for different people but I truly love their diverse products. They stand out in a crowd with their gorgeous designs and vibrant colors but their true beauty is inside the bottles. Their products smell wonderful and truly work wonders!!!

I wanted to talk about my hair styling dream team! These three give me incredible volume and texture. I find myself reaching for them every time I style my hair 🌸 Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo Perk Up is one of my favorite dry shampoos. It absorbs every bit of oil and leaves me feeling super refreshed. It adds volume without feeling powdery or like there’s a lot of residue and it smells amazing! 🌸 Amika Un.done Volume and Matte Texture Spray This texture spray gives me instant results. It makes my hair look undone and piecey without it getting crunchy. This spray also contains zeolite which is a mineral that fights frizz and detoxifies the hair! 🌸 Amika Vandal Volume Powder This little baby is small but mighty. After shaking the container I apply directly to the roots this gives me an instant lift and volume for days! It adds a lot of grit to the hair . .

Ouai hair care 😍
@theouai obsessed 🌟 The leave in conditioner is my Fav ! I use it after my shower or when I need to detangle my hair ( cuz u don’t know but yo girl hairs are curly AF! ) 😭 and it leaves my hair soft to touch when it drys + the scent makes my hair smells sooooo good 😻! —————————————————————————— Both oils makes my hair soft and they smells really good , they smooths down all my frizziness , i have fine hairs and it doesn’t leave them greasy , forever repurchasing ! 🌈 And finally the Wave Spray, I use it with a curl defining and it makes my hair curl beautifully , if you are looking for volume and définition this is the BEST product for you 🌟 —————————————————————————— Ps: I just finished the body and hair scrub and its the most amazing thing I have purchased , my mom is obsessed to do I need to repurchase 1 for me and her 😂 What’s your Fav Ouai product 😻?
OUAI-Leave In Conditioner
Just wanted to switch it up and shout out the two brands that have been giving my flat, thin hair LIFE recently! . The amika 3D shampoo + conditioner are LIFE - CHANGING. It feels like my hair doubled in thickness after first use. . I’ve been in love with ouai volume spray and texture spray for a while now. My mini of the volume spray is almost gone so I’ll definitely be repurchasing ASAP! The texture spray doesn’t have much hold (which I actually like), but it adds a nice texture for that undone look! . .

Since I’m in a very hair mood rn, I guess I’ll keep it going!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m sure you guys have been seeing a lot of this collection lately, but it’s necessary. I have been using these products nonstop lately and I know I’m going to be using them so much! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ☀️ ‘Sexture’ beach look shampoo - this shampoo seriously lathers the heck out of your hair in the shower to provide your locks with grit in order to give a better hold to whatever style you decide on when you dry it. I find this shampoo seriously helps with styling & let’s my hair hold a curl so much longer than it usually would! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ☀️ ‘Bushwick Beach’ no-salt wave spray - I would like a big round of applause for this guy. Amika has seriously done it with this wave spray. Unlike majority of the wave sprays on the market, this is formulated WITHOUT sea salt which is actually very damaging and drying to your hair! This guy does the exact same thing (if not better) as a sea salt spray. I spray this in my hair after towel drying & then scrunch it with my fingers! When your hair dries it helps to create the most gorgeous beach waves. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ☀️ ‘Got Grit’ dry texture paste - I haven’t used this a bunch yet, but when I do it definitely performs. This is like super glue for your hair! I have been using small amounts just on my ends when I scrunch my hair to make sure the bottoms keep their waves looking extra wavy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ☀️ ‘High Tide Deep Waver’ - this hot tool has blown me away. I honestly didn’t expect that this would work very well when I first got it but wow I was so wrong. At first it’s a little tricky to get the hang of, but when you do it right it gives the most gorgeous wavy hair! I’m talking literal mermaid hair.
