HIKI is for everybody
The pandemic has caused disruptions for many of us. Vegan and cruelty free, HIKI was just minutes away from launching when these disruptions interrupted their initial plans. The brand decided to place a hold on their launch out of respect for all the uncertainties. It wasn’t an easy decision, but it was done in good taste! In exchange, they decided to offer front line workers, from surgeon to janitors, free personal care items. They also ran a social media campaign to offer products to anyone else in exchange for posting about how they were doing. Their goal was to encourage others through honesty and compassion.
HIKI is for EVERY BODY. This brand is all about self acceptance and finding empowerment through self-love and self-care. Their journey to launch is a remarkable one.
Because HIKI deodorant is all natural, your body might need to adjust to the lack of chemicals that are typically found in most commercial deodorants. Their website has a very well written, in-depth article on just what you need to do to give your body the grace it needs to make the adjustment!
I’m currently using their deodorant in the scent Fresh Wood. It reminds me of mid-summer, late night bonfires!

I’ve been trying this about two weeks now and I’m super happy with the results . It glides on easy and clear no white spots on shirts . It lasts hours and I don’t have any stink at all . It’s also aluminum free which my armpits are very happy with . I’ll be picking up another when I finish this . This one also has a floral scent to it Merci Handy - Flower Power Deodorant

Lush Elbow Grease - I love this stuff!
Bonjour ma cherie!
Today I’ll be talking about LUSH - Elbow Grease
In short, this stuff is great! I bought it to help with my dry, rough elbows and knees. After application, my skin feels hydrated and smooth. And I mean SMOOTH.
When I first got it in the mail, it was completely liquid, so be careful when you open this product I’m hot weather, you might just spill a bunch...
( not like I did that myself... )
The balm goes on very greasy, so it has to be given time to soak in. Just a heads up.
I’m terms of smell, it’s not strong at all. But it doesn’t smell like the “grease” my mom used to use on my hair and scalp as a child (ah the days of twists, braids, and bubbles). If you know, you know.
Overall 10/10

CBD? In a natural deodorant? 💚
Over the past year and a half I’ve been trying to find more natural deodorant options that work for me. So far I’ve tried Schmidt’s, Native, Kopari, LaVanila, and Type: A. In the past I had tried the original Kopari deodorant and liked it which is why I was so excited when they came out with the KOPARI - CBD Deodorant . I’ve also been trying a bunch of CBD products lately so this seemed to be the best of both worlds.
This deodorant retails $18 for 2 oz (let me say I would not pay full price for this. I think $18 for a deodorant is insane. I ended up getting mine on sale for half off and I’ve seen it on sale a lot lately). Kopari claims this clean, extra strength deodorant helps combat order causing bacteria while soothing the delicate underarm skin. It is also vegan, aluminum free, and baking soda free.
Like I said above I think this is extremely over priced for what it is. That being said I do still really like it. The coconut oil/coconut water/sage oil/CBD base helps the deodorant glide onto the skin (it feels almost like those blue gel deodorants). I’ve seen friends experience burns from natural deodorant before and Kopari is a brand I’ve never experienced that from. As far as deodorants go it is one of the most gentle and soothing brands I’ve experienced. They claim the formula is clear which I do find to be true. I’ve yet to get any sticky, white deodorant residue stains on any of my work clothes which I find a win. It does have a light, pleasant herbal scent to it which you can smell when applied. I’m not usually a fan of herbal scents but I do really enjoy this one. I find depending on the day at work this works pretty well. If it’s a busy day I can get a tiny bit sweaty but nothing another roll of my deodorant can’t fix. On days where I’m not running around this usually lasts me my whole shift no problem. I think it does a pretty good job at preventing me from stinking throughout the day. I think if you can find it on sale it’s worth trying.

Are Your Armpits Discolored?
Towards the end of June, my mom made a comment about how I should be using aluminum-free deodorants, so I decided to give NATIVE - Waterlily & Orchid Deodorant a try. I liked the smell and it shouldn’t be that hard to switch up deodorants, right?
It’s now almost September and I have to say...I HATE WEARING NATURAL DEODORANT! Maybe it’s just this brand, in particular? I’m not sure, but a few nights ago I was HORRIFIED when I looked in the mirror and saw that my underarms had changed color. How had I not noticed this before? I felt disgusting and immediately hopped in the shower to wash under there real good.
Upon doing a little more research on “natural” deodorants, I found that this is actually not an uncommon occurrence. Baking soda is one of the most common ingredients found in natural deodorants. This ingredient is highly alkaline, falling at a 9 on a scale of 1-14 (1 being more acidic). Skin has an acidic pH, landing between 5 and 6. When baking soda mixes with acid it can cause irritation resulting in discoloration, rashes, itchiness...
I’ve never had an issue with underarm discoloration before trying natural deodorant and I’m so tempted to give up on it altogether, but I am going to try out the brand Curie. I seriously hope that I have better results with this brand, but I have little hope for that.
Stay tuned! I’ll most likely report on Curie within the month!

HAVE SWEATING PROBLEM BUT LOVE THIS NATURAL DEO
I’ve been loving theAURELIA PROBIOTIC SKINCARE - Botanical Cream Deodorant , which is surprising given I have a major sweating problem.....
It’s cooling, refreshing and overall I sweat less when wearing as opposed to when wearing traditional deodorant. I just have to make sure I reapply halfway throughout the day but other than that it is very effective.
Since I started using ive also noticed I feel less self-conscious about lifting my arms up when wearing sleeveless shirts/tank tops. My old deodorant used to make my underarms dry, white and sometimes even flaky but this stuff is completely invisible ✨
