If you are really looking for some deep moisture this Hawaiian Ginger line is for YOU.
The shampoo is a bit difficult to pump out, and you need to use kind of a lot of it to get some good suds (if youāre into that) š§¼ but overall itās pretty nice. I thought it would be more fragrant but itās not! Itās kind of like a calming ginger tea š«
MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing & Anti-Breakage Shampoo
Dec. 15, 2020
Product Mentioned
get the samples. gel is worth the hold!
it's another wash day which means new products to try.
I've been fairly committed to Act+Acre - Mini Cleanse + Conditioner the last few washes.
always remember to 1 shake the product and 2 shampoo twice. a little goes a long way. Emulsify!!!!!
after shampooing twice (I used MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Leave-In Conditioner and
MIELLE - Honey & Ginger Styling Gel in my last wash which did not pass the water soluble test. this means it is probably causing build up on my hair) I conditioned and detangled with my Wet brush - Wetbrush Shower Flex next I tried my SAMPLES
JESSICURL. - Rockin' Ringlets Styling Potion gives great slip. you do need to ratook the sample. after all it is a small amount but the sample packet was enough to fully cover my head. I made sure to to 4 big sections and make sure I got it in there. gives great slip. I then used my #behairful - the professional detangler[products]#[FiveStars] to comb through sections for great definition
I used my sample of JESSICURL. - Spiralicious Styling Gel which has a flax seed gel consistency. I was able to get about 3 quarter size amounts out the sample that u used the praying hands method to massage in. I scrunched in the last quarter size amount throughout my hair
wet plopped for about 10 to 15 minutes in a shower cap
I intended on diffusing but work meetings pulled me away and by the time I picked my the blow dryer, most of my hair formed a cast. but I diffused a bit nonetheless
and I've posted pictures of my day 3 hair. any suggestions or recommendations?

decent hold great shine but do I smell like soda
I am absolutely committed to the Act+Acre - Mini Cleanse + Conditioner movement. Cold process implies that there is no manipulation to the products in the conditioner or the shampoo and you are getting actual benefits from the products you are using. Cold process implies that there is no manipulation to the products in the conditioner or the shampoo and you are getting actual benefits from the products you are using. If you are trying this product for the 1st time 2 things 1 always remember to shake it and 2 you will need to shampoo twice.
Now theMIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Leave-In Conditioner Was given to me by my younger sister who was not a fan of the sent or of the product itself. Are used this still in the shower on soaking wet hair and rubbed through from ends to root. I used my Denman brush to comb the product through evenly. then sectioned my hair to apply half a pump of the MIELLE - Honey & Ginger Styling Gel once again massaging from ends to root then combing they with the denman brush and scrunching. onto the next section. I take fairly big sections because I'm trying to hurry up. once all sectioned and combed through i took one pump, mixed with water, turned upside down and scrunched my entire head. I focus on the back of my hair as my tail tends to straighten. and then wet plopped in a shower cap for about 20 minutes whilst I rinsed off, got out the shower, facial routine including a 15 minute sheet mask. then I took the shower cap off to air dry for about 10 more minutes. I diffused for a bit to get the wetness out of my hair then ate dinner, air dried until bedtime. then I put on a bonnet and the pictures are this mornings results. let's see what day 3 and 5 hair look like. I also haven't sealed with oil. does anyone think it smells like sprite though or is that me??

Curly Hair Tips š
If you're reading this post you and I probably have something in common, curly hair! You've probably also heard "your hair is so beautiful" all your life and thought about how much you wished it were straight and easier to manage. Well 25 years of curly hair has taught me one thing, most people (yes even hair professionals) don't know much about curly hair and keeping it healthy!
Here's a little about my hair journey:
ļæ¼I didn't wear my hair down consitently until I was about 23, it was always in buns unless it was straightened
ļæ¼I had bleached hair for about 5 years
ļæ¼I did a big chop and cut all the blonde off 2 years ago
When I chopped off the blonde I made the decision to only work towards healthy hair so how am I doing that?
ļæ¼No hair color, I haven't dyed my hair since chopping the blonde and yes I have really wanted too. It's not worth my hairs integrity and I'm too spontaneous - I'd be a new color every month.
ļæ¼Sulfate free is the way to go, but you don't have to quit using shampoo. Of course you shouldn't be washing your hair daily, but shampooing and cleansing the scalp is IMPORTANT! I wash maximum twice a week, one of those being a co-wash. All the products I have are sulfate free.
ļæ¼Find products that work well together! Mix a small part of your leave-in with your gel, if it pills and separates it will do that on your hair! Don't use them together. Product lines are formulated to work together, start there if your having a hard time.
ļæ¼Not all alcohol is bad, if it's on the ingredient list it should be a fatty alcohol. I still try to avoid it if I can!
ļæ¼Wrap your curls up in silk or satin at night to reduce frizz and extend your style!
ļæ¼No heat. Like ever. I've straightened my hair once in two years and missed my curls! If you do straighten it once in a blue moon, use heat protection and the lowest heat settings you can.
ļæ¼Care for your scalp! Use an oil, scrub it in the shower, stimulate your scalp at night. A happy scalp means happy curls!
Here's some of my favorite curly hair products:
ļæ¼Camille Rose - Lavender Fresh Cleanse
ļæ¼Camille Rose - Oud Rich Infusion Moisture Treatment
ļæ¼Camille Rose - Rose Cleansing Milk
ļæ¼Camille Rose - Lavender Crush Defining Gel
ļæ¼Camille Rose - Honey Hydrate Leave-In Hair Conditioner
ļæ¼Camille Rose - SOYlicious Curl Enhancing Conditioner
ļæ¼MIELLE - Babassu & Mint Deep Conditioner
ļæ¼MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Styling Gel
ļæ¼MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Scalp Treatment
ļæ¼THE Mane CHOICE - Ancient Egyptian 24 Karat Gold Twisting Gel
ļæ¼THE Mane CHOICE - Heavenly Halo Herbal Hair Tonic & Soy Milk Deep Hydration Conditioner

Youtuber Haircare?
I recently was looking into getting new hair care products because the stuff I was using just wasnāt giving me what I wanted. I have very course thick hair, in desperate need of moisture. I had been watching Brad Mondos video on YouTube for a little bit and saw he had a haircare line. (I know heās not JUST a youtuber but also a licensed hairdresser. I saw some good reviews and decided to bite the bullet and order some. Firstly, the products are on the pricier side but it is a more prestige haircare line. I donāt mind paying the price if it performs. Secondly, the scent is so so so good! Itās not overpowering or intense but itās just enough to leave a nice scent after washing and drying.
Here are the products Iāve tried so far:
XMONDO - Prismatic Glow -
This is what you see swatched on my hand. If you swipe to the second photo you see why itās named prismatic glow. The product literally turns into a purple iridescent color. This has saved my hair. I was going through changing back from a bright orange to just blonde so my hair had gotten some bleach damage. This made my thirsty hair quenched and super soft. Made it feel like I didnāt even bleach my hair. Having such thick dry hair, I only need to wash my hair once a week so I use this as my normal conditioner. This product has Argan oil and baobab oil to leave your hair extra hydrated. I have already bought another one for when I run out!
XMONDO - Electric Rain Moisture Cream -
I use this when I get out of the shower for some extra hydration and to help detangle any left over knots from towel drying. This product leaves me hair super soft even when it fully dries, I can tell a huge difference when I donāt use it. This product also has argan oil but includes rice proteins to help rebuild your hair hair structure. This has helped me through my bleach journey as well. They guy who does my hair even noticed and was super interested in the products!
XMONDO - Salty Sea Salt Spray -
Is this a need? No. But if youāre like me and super lazy with styling your hair, it gives a nice textured wave to your hair without the added heat. I spray this on towel dried hair and then braid my hair and sleep on it. In the morning I have cute little beach waves. The only problem is it is a bit drying but understandable because it is a sea salt spray.
Plus can we talk about how cute the packaging is?!?
In conclusion, I have really enjoyed all the products I have gotten from Brad Mondoās haircare line and will continue to purchase. I also want to try out his dry shampoo and glitterati styling serum!

HOW TO TURN YOUR HAIR FROM THIS𤮠TO THISšš„
My hair care journey has not been easy but over time, I turned my EXTREMELY heat-damaged hair into lively, bouncy curls! Pictured is my current hair care routine, after 3 years of trying various hair products from ALL different brands I think I found my favorite lineupš
TPH BY TARAJI - Honey Fresh Clarifying Shampoo With Moisture This clarifying shampoo is one of favorites that Iāve tried so far! I suffer from fast product build-up on my scalp, so I usually need to use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week. Something about a shampoo that bubbles makes my scalp feel extra clean š§¼ so I love using this on days where I feel like my No-Poo wonāt get the job done. SLS/SLES free, phthalate free, paraben free, mineral oil free, and cruelty free!
DevaCurl - No-Poo Original Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser I wanted to love this product because I heard so much hype about it but it just doesnāt do much for when I feel like I need a wash dayš
Great texture though and my hair never feels stripped after using it!
DevaCurl - One Condition Original Daily Cream Conditioner THIS IS MY HOLY GRAIL. Favorite conditioner Iāve ever used and definitely has a large role in my hair journey. My curls love this conditioner! (NOTE: the decadence version of this conditioner is great for super dry hair as well)
Alikay Naturals - Lemongrass Leave-in Conditioner This is another one of my ride or die products and I was so surprised to see that it hadnāt been recommended on cherie yet! This detangles my hair so easily and itās the first thing I spray on my hair when I get out of the shower. Its main ingredient is lemongrass oil that aims to help strengthen hair follicles, promote healthy hair growth, and reduce hair shedding. Highly recommend this product for ALL hair types!
Kinky-Curly - Knot Today, Natural Leave In / Detangler This product is okay. When I first bought it, I though it would serve more as a gel to seal my leave in conditioners in but it just doesnāt work as well as DevaCurl - Light Defining Gel Soft Hold No-Crunch Styler . This gel creates the perfect shine and seal for all my moisturizing products that I apply before hand. AND I love that it doesnāt leave a crunchy feeling most gels do.
MIELLE - Pomegranate & Honey Leave-In Conditioner Another hair care staple. The smell is fantastic and it slips through my hair like BUTTAHš© Once my hair dries, Iām left with pillow-soft curls! (NOTE: I apply this after my Alikay Naturals Leave-in spray and top it with my gel)
Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask Last but not least, liquid gold in a tub. Man if I could bathe in this mask I would. I use this mask once-twice a week to add some extra richness in my routine!
Kinky-Curly- Knot Today, Natural Leave In / Detangler
Cantu leave in - Holy Grail for Curls
In the post about my hair routine, I mentioned this product. I wanted to save this for last because the best for last of course! The other two products mentioned I havenāt been using for too long but for this product I have been using it for about 3 years! It was complete game changer for me!
I wanted to start this off by first telling you a little bit about my hair journey! Now both of my parents have thick curly hair, so there was no way I was going to get out of that one. When I was younger, my hair was wild, I got so many flyaways (and still do! So if you have any recs...) I looked like Einstein. It would take forever to comb with ALL the knots. I used to be jealous of other girls with sleek straight low maintenance hair as this is a more common hair type for South Asians. After I cut my hair in middle school my hair got BIGGER and curlier, I would just put it into a ponytail or bun, it would get all matted and took years to comb out plus the PAIN.
In high school, I started doing my hair open. After my hair dried during wash day, I would put lotion in it (body lotion) and do 3 braids into a bigger braid into a bun and slept in that. When I was getting ready for school, I would untie and slap on a ton of mousse and gel into it. My curls were defined in the front but areas I didnāt reach were poofy and frizzy (possibly my hair crying for help). Freshman and some of sophomore year of college, I straightened my hair every week to go to school (blow dry AND flat iron). To top it all my hair wasnāt very damaged? Aside from split ends, my hair was fine, amazingly.
Around the middle of sophomore I wore my hair curly, I used some products I donāt remember and Shea Moisture. Then I discovered Cantuās leave in conditioner. This was before I discovered scrunching and pulsing so when I slathered it on, I was shocked to see how effective it was! My curls looked so well defined and this look lasted many days afterwards when I tied it in a loose bun. I have used this leave in conditioner with both argan oil and shea butter and I havenāt really seen a difference between the two? I use this after I shampoo and condition. I usually take it in and scrunch and pulse and then wring my hair of extra water. I edited this picture for clarity to show you how my curls looked at the end of the day after I washed it today. My curls are defined with very minimal frizz! I donāt feel grease or sticky residue left over from the product nor do i find any strong scent from it. I can not recommend this product enough.
However..I must give you a warning. Cantu is not a black owned brand, if thatās one thing youāre looking for keep that in mind. Iāve seen some people in the natural hair community cancelling this product, saying itās drying. This hasnāt been the case for me (if down the road it turns out to be I will make an updated post). So I urge you to research and test the product before actual use and hopefully it works for you the way it has for me!
cantu-Argan Oil Leave-In Conditioning Repair
2 pumps to soft & silky locks ! š„³
Firstly letās just take a moment about how cute is the packaging! Found this randomly in walmart. I have frizzy + curly hair.
I use two pumps of this serum on my wet damp hair & let it air dry afterwards. This is š± cruelty free and all the other good stuff. Itās not sticky at all & very easy to apply.
The results are quite evident from the very first usage. Once dry your hair feels more light , shiny & those curls feel so softtt!!!! š¤©š¤©
I absolutely love this one. & this small bottle goes a long way.
Anybody with dry, frizzy hair can definitely give this one a try.
Xoxoš

Curly Hair Routine for Fine Low Porosity Hair
A successful wash day starts with using good curly-friendly products and treatments! If you're new to your curly hair journey, don't be discouraged if you're not seeing the results you want. It takes time and with continuous use of good products, your hair WILL transform
I like to start my washes with a pre-poo treatment, that is a hot oil treatment. I do a scalp massage for about 10 minutes with the oil, and apply the rest to my hair and let it sit for about 30 mins. The oil I use is RIGHTEOUS ROOTS - Righteous Roots Rx
Next, I rinse it off with shampoo! My favorite shampoo of all time is Bounce Curl - Enzyme Gentle Clarifying Shampoo
I also really like Bounce Curl - Pure Silk Moisturizing Shampoo when I'm feeling for a moisture boost. It provides the perfect amount of moisture and doesn't weigh down my fine hair at all!
After shampooing, I follow up with Bounce Curl - Super Smooth Cream Conditioner or if it's deep conditioning day, use my all time favorite rawkyn - RED rawkyn Clay Hair Mask
Styling products:
Normally use a leave-in conditioner and gel to style, but in this video, I experimented with 3 products- mousse, leave-in, and gel! The results weren't too bad, but I did feel it was probably too much product for my hair . I think I'll stick with 2 products š
