MY CURLS. UNVEILED.
Story time. I straightened my hair from age 12 to 26. Wore it in a bun from 26 to 27ish. Cut the dead ends then finally got my natural curl back. I say that I have 3a/3b curls but if you think otherwise tell me in the comments bc I really don’t even know haha. I literally just ask people who have similar curls to mine what they use (esp pros like @hairinel on IG — she’s helped me A LOT...we gotta get sis on this app!). I’ve had many trials errors tribulations about what to do with these curls. But I’ve kind of found a decent routine for my low maintenance ass self. So I thought I’d share. Wash day: - shampoo with Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo - condition with Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask WHILE STILL IN THE SHOWER I use... - spray primer all over then comb through w a wide toothed combBumble and bumble. - Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer - section hair and apply Ouidad - Advanced Climate Control Featherlight Styling Cream - comb through w denman brush section by section - apply to the ends and front Ouidad - Vitalcurl+ Tress Effect Styling Gel After showering - scrunch excess out with AQUIS - Hair Turban Waffle Luxe Moody Gray - blow dry on LOW heat LOW air with dyson - Supersonic Hair Dryer Limited Edition Copper Gift Set - once dry add a bit of shine with Ouidad - Revive & Shine Rejuvenating Dry Oil Mist - fluff w oil on my hands then try and pray to the gods that I don’t touch it for the rest of the day (this never works) In this vid these are day 2 curls. I usually just clip it in a loose bun with my CHUNKS clips before going to bed (I don’t wrap it — don’t @ me) then shake it loose in the AM and add a lil OUAI - OUAI Hair Oil for the frizz and see what happens. Sometimes it comes out cute like this other times I look like hot garbage but whattreya gonna do 🤷🏽♀️??? I’ve also tried a ton of other products but this is my usual go-to on the reg. This post is dedicated to @annkrishaand @ambersymone😉

A lot of product for a LOW price 🤑
OKAY curly girls of cherie. Let me put you on to Mielle if you haven’t heard of them already. Disclaimer: I have not tried everything YET. But wanted to get this in front of you so we can compare notes. ➿➿I have 3a/b curlzzzzz ➿➿ If you are really looking for some deep moisture this Hawaiian Ginger line is for YOU. The shampoo is a bit difficult to pump out, and you need to use kind of a lot of it to get some good suds (if you’re into that) 🧼 but overall it’s pretty nice. I thought it would be more fragrant but it’s not! It’s kind of like a calming ginger tea 🫖 MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing & Anti-Breakage Shampoo The conditioner is definitely THICC. Had to take a few pumps then comb it through sections of my hair in the shower. Left it in and after a few mins I rinsed it out..it felt pretty smooth. MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing & Anti-Breakage Conditioner Okay here is where it gets a little tricky for me. I have very fine hair. And it needs moisture but if I go overboard it just doesn’t sit right when I dry it. So when using the leave in conditioner, I think I overdid it and left a lil too much in. I normally use the Ouidad - Advanced Climate Control Featherlight Styling Cream after I wash/condition and it is perfect when I diffuse afterwards bc it’s so light. But mistakes were made on my part bc it did not look cute when I diffused it dry. MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Leave-In Conditioner I only used a bit of the MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Styling Gel after the leave in and before diffusing and it was OK but I think I had too much leave in for it to do anything cute for me. Overall, I think it is worth another shot! There is seriously a TON of product here for a really great affordable price. I would say it’s only a bit smaller than Pattern Beauty but I would take Mielle over Pattern any day for the fragrance alone (Sorry Auntie Tracee) — I really hate strong fragrance in my hair products!! I def want to try the overnight conditioner and wash in the AM then use my regular products to style to see if I can still maintain the hydration from the night before, without it weighing my curls down when they’re dry. We’ll see how it goes!!!

Okay let’s hop onto this topic tag for a quick minute!!! We’re all talking about our Beauty Thanks this week and some of y’all have really showed out with your stories!!! Although I may have trapped you with this aesthetic drippp featuring my cherie merch and some of my fave (old + new) Summer Fridays products, you won’t be getting a product rundown here. I just wanted to take a moment to be thankful that Beauty is something that has given me a pretty cool career, I’ve met some amazing people (celeb encounters included) in this industry and I’ve learned so much about myself!! Beauty is what connected me deeper into culture. I’ve had beautiful conversations with folks about our curly hair journeys, finding the right match for my complexion, wtf porosity means, what products to use and more. Beauty has also surprisingly given me a deeper appreciation for design. The vibe has to be right. These are facts! Don’t @ me about aesthetics either bc if it’s not cute in my bathroom I won’t have it. Hehehe. Before this gets too long and too deep, I just want to say, it’s been real, it’s been cool, and I’m excited to see what journey beauty takes me on next!! feat merch from @cherie SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask SUMMER FRIDAYS - Soft Reset AHA Exfoliating Solution

New Haul For All My New Friends!!
Looks like I’ve been getting some new followers here on ze cherie. Hello and welcome!! Thought I’d share this haul that’s been sittin in my drafts for a minute. Just got allllllll these goodies from PATTERN beauty for my 3a curly tresses. Fun Fact: Tracee Ellis Ross is the founder, and was my valentine once (I’m not lying. At all.) She launched styling products a little bit ago and I’ve been super excited to try these. I’ve been pretty consistently on my natural hair journey for a few years now and I’m always down to try new products! PATTERN - Styling Cream I personally think this cream can totally work for some folks. I have really fine hair so it can get weighed down pretty easily. This cream is thicc unlike most other curl creams (way thicker than my usualOuidad - Advanced Climate Control Featherlight Styling Cream ) so a little can go a long way — for me, bc there is A LOT in this tub. One thing I can truthfully say with this brand is they really paid attention to the amount of product curls need and the value is THERE for the size and quality. PATTERN - Hydrating Mist I’ve tried many hydrating mists. I don’t give this one top marks though bc I just don’t like the smell. It’s too floral for me. It also hydrates I guess?? But idk how I feel about it — I haven’t found the perfect hydrating mist that helps tame the mane on my extra frizzy days. PATTERN - Hair Pick if there is one thing I CAN say about the styling tools is that auntie Tracee came thru with the qualiTEA! This pick is strong and comes with a velvety sleeve. You can tell they did the most with tools on this line bc the PATTERN - Edge Tool is also 💯 and pairs nicely with the PATTERN - Edge Control or even the OUAI - Matte Pomade PATTERN - Mist Spray Bottle this is also nice but the biggest difference is it can hold a lot more water. Maybe like 20% more than you can get from the ones on Amazon. THE RUNDOWN Value ✅ Quality ✅ Efficacy ✔️➖(it works fine it’s just not my favorite) Would I repurchase? Not sure. But there is so much product I honestly don’t know when I’ll even have to buy more 😂

Can someone tell me why I’m mentally conditioned to want to buy ANYTHING new Glossier releases?? Regardless of whether I actually want it or need it?? And then once I get it I end up ALSO getting like every other thing that I may or may not have emptied yet? What should we call this?? Glossi-itis?? Glossi-ism?? Anyway. I got the new fig balm dot com bc idk about y’all but I do love me some figs!! Deets on my haul: Since I’ve worn zero makeup in the last 8 months I had to re-up on my boy brow since my old one is crusty and dried up. I still feel like there are better brow products out there but again...Glossier-itis came for me. Glossier. - Boy Brow I’ve been trying the new Kosas - The Big Clean Volumizing + Lash Care Mascara recently and it looks GOOD when it’s on but zang it does NOT stay on and smudges everywhereeeee. So of course I had to go back to the Glossier. - Lash Slick Mascara bc it just hits different. I have every other cloud paint so I decided to get this one in puff. I hardly ever use them...but have them anyway.....Glossi-ism..Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color If you also suffer from this condition, make sure you get a bundle for the 3 products above to at least protect your coin and not let this problem destroy you financially. Glossier. - The Makeup Set And finally for what I actually intended to buy... Glossier. - Balm Dotcom in fig. It has a tint to it that you can’t see bc I have darker lips 👄 but idgaf bc I love figs. It doesn’t smell as much like a fig as I’d like though, but there is something deep down inside me that is letting that slide bc the colors are an actual vibe and I’m here for it....Glossiorder??? If you have any other names for this Glossier induced condition that I’m sure many suffer from, feel free to leave a comment! And best of luck to you on your journey to recovery (lol, like that’s going to happen bc they launched new body hero today and I’m like......👀👀👀👀)
UNPOPULAR opinion on the infamous R + R mask!
Did you know that Argan oil contains two times more Vitamin E than olive oil? PRODUCT: This mask is meant to exfoliate and whisk away dead skin cells, while a team of antioxidant-rich oils work to moisturize and soothe skin. It is recommended to leave it on for 10 minutes before removing it with a damp wash cloth and letting the remaining oils absorb into your skin. The highlighted ingredients include: ✨Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (vitamin C) stimulates collagen production, helps brighten skin, and improve skin texture. ✨Argan, Safflower, Sesame, Avocado, and Grape Seed oils all contain essential fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants which help improve skins texture, fight acne, moisturize, and protect skin. MY THOUGHTS: I had my eye on this mask for the longest time before I decided to give it a go. I heard such wonderful things about this mask and it made me curious, especially because of its beautiful texture. Unfortunately, this product wasn’t all that great for me and is overrated in my opinion. The main thing I don’t like about this mask is that the exfoliating pieces are way too big and harsh. Even when I gently rub my face, it hurts. I feel as though the pieces are cutting into my skin. It hasn’t done much in terms of exfoliating but it has hydrated my skin. It also smells wonderful but I wouldn’t repurchase this product again, especially not at that price point. SIDE NOTE: 🌱🐰♻️This product is vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free. The packaging is also recyclable.
Absolutely TF NOT 🤬🤬
This products is not ok... whatever they put in this literally have my eye lids stinging, I’ve never had this problem with an eye cream. I bought this because it claims to be hydrating and would help with dark circles but instead it gives me a stinging burning sensation around my eyes. Complete waste of $39 I would not recommend. One of favorite eye creams is Belief moisturizing eye bomb, doesn’t burn my eyes and definitely gives you hydration.belif - Eye Bomb Gwp

Perfect skin on the pow wow trail ☀️
Accepting myself as an Indigenous woman has been a hard and long journey. I was bullied through elementary school and still get racist comments online. Growing up, I used to hate my complexion. I'm now 25 years old and my home community has saved my life in so many ways. Being around thousands of other Cree women has taught me different beauty standards than stuff I see on Instagram. I'm never going to look like Kendall Jenner or Karlie Kloss, and that's ok. I'm beautiful in my own way and I get my features from a long line of strong women who have been walking on this land for at least 10 000 years. This platform also allowed me to recognize myself in so many of you, and for that I thank you all for showing your true self. This picture shows my beadwork for my pow wow regalia. I've beaded it all myself. Beadwork is a traditional craft for many Indigenous nations and a skill that has been passed down to me by nôhkom (my grandmother). I wear my regalia with pride when I dance, so the makeup has to match. I dance contemporary fancy shawl style and it is HARD (check it out on YouTube). Pow wows happen mostly in the summer so you sweat A LOT. For my complexion, I like to use products that are not going to make me super cakey right after the 1st song. I can tell you those 3 are powwow-proof and will stay on your face after dancing in 30°C temperature. tarte - Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation SPF 15 If you have an olive undertone like me, you probably know that finding a foundation that matches your skin is hell. I'm in the shade light-medium sand for most of the year. Often, I find that foundations with olive undertones are too dark and that there's never anything in the light-medium range, but their undertones in that line have been spot on. I will say that the same shade in the Shape Tape concealer is much more neutral. I have oily skin and this gives me a velvety semi-matte finish without making me dry or cakey. Love this, althought I use a small amount, so I cannot speak for the ones who are going for a full glam and full coverage look. I'd say it's more of a medium coverage. laura mercier - Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes I very lightly set my undereyes with this because it's not drying AF like the translucent one. It has a bit of a sheen to it so you don't look dead and dry, and so it doesn't darken your concealer too much wheb you set it. Beautiful finish. laura mercier - Translucent Loose Setting Powder I use a small amount of this one to set my t-zone. I use the amount that's left on my sponge or brush after to lightly set my face. DO NOT use too much because you will look as dry as the Sahara desert. I used to bake with this and I'd feel so uncomfortable. Happy that I've transitioned to a more natural makeup. Hope this helps ☺

Euphoria/Y2K Inspired Lewk #CheriePartner
I was born in ‘97 but the ‘00s trend is really picking up these last couple of years. Euphoria came out last year & a minimal but unique makeup looks started trending. Pop of color liners & eye looks with light coverage face & some sort of rhinestone on their face! I always feel like my makeup style is full coverage but my eye looks are always pretty simple but unique. My cousin let me borrow her ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Jackie Aina Eyeshadow Palette & that palette is BOMB, idk why I haven’t purchased it yet 🤔. This look is pretty simple but the three rhinestones just makes it a lil more Y2Kish & very on trend for the Euphoria girls out there. Keeping a close shave without bumps - help plz!
Just recently cut my beard and am going for a smooth look. I used this Wahl shaver and it gave me a remarkably close shave but I’ve since broken out with some tiny bumps (picture is of my face a few days since.) #Wahl - Wahl Pro Shaver Super Close[products]#[FiveStars] Ive always preferred using a shaver to shaving with a razor bc I’ve always believed that razors damage the skin more but I’ve never done research on this. I’ve been putting anCVS pharmacy - Acne Spot Treatment Cream Maximum Strength on my face to minimize the bumps but also unsure if that’s good for me long term. Any advice for maintaining a close shave and keeping my skin healthy and without bumps?
