💞Skin Care Routine for Oily Skin💖
With summer around the corner those of us with oily skin know that usually means a glistening shiny complexion, and you’re not alone. According to various studies 75 percent of people aged 15-20, are affected by oily skin, partly because hormones play a big role in the over production of oily skin. Here’s the thing. You can’t completely get rid of your oils. Your skin type is genetic. But you can do a few things to alleviate greasy skin responsibly without over drying your skin. Let’s start with these top 9 tips! 1. Look for a cleanser with papaya extracts Papaya continues to grow its skin-health appeal because of papain, a powerful digestive enzyme naturally found in the fruit. When applied topically to the skin, this enzyme aids in breaking down dead skin.KINSHIP - Naked Papaya Gentle Enzyme Face Cleanser

Happy with how my skin is coming back to life
Nighttime routine 🌙💫 TATCHA - Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA I was looking for vitamin c for hyperpigmentation. Love this product. Pricey yes, but my skin has improved so much!! CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser Feels nice on my skin after washing. I did notice it has alcohol so that’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer Love how nice and fresh my skin feels after this. However I think it has a lot of perfume and alcohol. OBAGI - Tretinoin 0.025% Cream This reallllly killed my skin. I was struggling with what appeared to be hormonal breakout and dermatologist recommended this. I used it for about 3 months, waiting for the purge to come to an end and nothing. Left me with terrible acne, worse than what I had started with and lots of hyperpigmentation and irritation. I think this is the worst my skin has ever looked. Neutrogena - Alcohol Free Toner Solid toner. Doesn’t irritate my skin and leaves it feeling clean and fresh .
refreshing alcohol-free toner!
Neutrogena - Alcohol Free Toner this is my first toner and the one i’ve been using since i started. this is maybe my fourth or fifth bottle (it lasts a while, a few months?) and it’s inexpensive. definitely a good, basic, drugstore toner. very refreshing and doesn’t contain alcohol which can be an irritant to some skin types. not only that, but it does work well to balance your skin and moisturize it. use- this toner does have a refreshing smell that isn’t strong or too noticeable (it’s light). some people apply toner by swiping up on their skin as it says on the bottle to do and others simply pat their skin. it’s better to pat your skin if you have sensitive skin but i did notice that swiping got more product really in there. the formula itself absorbs fast and doesn’t dry your skin out. it definitely calms your skin and if you use it before sleep like i used to, will make your skin less red by the morning. toners are meant to restore your skins pH and this one definitely does. some toners tend to be on the thicker side but this one is just like water. ingredients- this toner is not fragrance free sadly, but again, as someone with sensitive skin i don’t think it was irritating at all. it’s a light fragrance that just makes the toner more refreshing. on the other hand, this toner IS alcohol-free! this is a big thing because 1) it’s less likely to break you out 2) it won’t strip your skin! there are two highlighted ingredients those are panthenol and sodium PCA. panthenol, also known as provitamin B5, is a humectant and helps moisturize the skin. sodium PCA does a similar job as it is a skin-identical ingredient and a great natural moisturizer. skin type- any skin type can use a toner or include one in their skin routine. i’ve been using one for about a year and it worked well for me but a few months ago i stopped using a toner just to simplify my skincare routine for a while. toners are more preferred by oily or acne-prone skin. toners work by gently refreshing the skin and adding an extra step of cleansing that would need to be used by oiler skin types. but, it can be used by all skin as a prep before moisturizer. at the end of the day, toner is inclusive! make sure to find one for your skin type but i definitely think this is a good one to start with. (*^ω^*) i’ve posted 3 products so far that can make a skincare routine!
Sephora Exfoliating Wipes
Product: Sephora Papaya - Glow Exfoliate Wipes Price: $8 Product Claims: To eliminate impurities and dead cells, use the exfoliating side to scrub the face delicately with specific attention to the T zone. To cleanse the face gently and remove makeup, use the smooth side, and gently wipe all over the face Product Target Concerns: Blemishes, Dryness, Oiliness Texture/Consistency: Moist soft wipes with a slight exfoliate texture My Thoughts on the Product: These are great for helping remove dirt and dry skin. They are very gentle and easy on your skin. My only thing is they say no need to cleanse with them but I still cleanse with them, I just use them to help remove excess dry skin or heavy make up. SEPHORA COLLECTION - Exfoilating Wipes Papaya Glow Recommend to Others?: Yes!
Can I start by talking about the smell? It’s glorious! It smells so so good. Exactly like papaya. So good. This cleanser is so gentle. It was great in the morning because it’s not stripping. The one thing I didn’t like was that it doesn’t foam or lather so it was hard to tell where I’d gotten it worked in and where I hadn’t washed it off. This stuff also takes off makeup; it just melts it off with practically zero effort. If I had on certain eyeliners or mascaras sometimes there was some traces still remaining, but for the most part it was all gone. However, it didn’t irritate my eyes so if you’re sensitive this is a great option. I wouldn’t recommend this product as your only PM cleanser. I recently brought this on weekend getaway, and by the time I got home my face had so much leftover gunk on it. For removing the day I’d recommend a second cleanse to get everything off and your face nice and clean. I was pleasantly surprised with this cleanser because this brand has been kind of hit or miss for me, but this one was a good one. I’d recommend it for a gentle AM cleanse or a first PM cleanse from my personal experience.
my newest skincare purchases!
throughout the past few weeks my acne has flared up so because of that I decided to try a couple new products. first- The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I have only been using this product for about a week and already am in love. For those of you who don’t know, niacinamide is an ingredient that brightens the skin and help balance oil production. I have definitely seen less oil on my face throughout the day and when using this product, it’s not like many other products I have tried for pores that immediately dry out my skin, this as well hydrates the skin. I would recommend this to anyone with oily to combo skin but I have seen it has been out of stock everywhere so as an alternative I would try the inkey list niacinamide serum. second- CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel I had originally tried a sample size of this months ago and loved it. It immediately helped bring out the white head in my pores and I had been waiting for the mini size to come in stock to order it. My product finally came in the mail today and staring at it I am not sure the tiny .5 fl oz bottle was worth 18 dollars. Yes, the product does what it’s supposed to do but it does just that and is not very impressive. I glanced at the ingredient list and realized the product does contain two ingredients I am NOT a fan of at all. The FIRST ingredient was denatured alcohol. Denatured alcohol is an ingredient that will strip your skin but can tend to be very stripping to your skin. The fourth ingredient is witch hazel which is very simaler to denatured alcohol and acts like am astringent by drying out your pimples or pores. I rated this product a 3/5 because it does what it is said to do but, also is not worth the price and I don’t like the ingredients other then salycic acid. third- KINSHIP - Naked Papaya Gentle Enzyme Face Cleanser For a long time I had been using a cleanser that was way two stripping for my skin so I decided to try a more hydrating cleanser. First off the bat, I noticed that it had a super strong papaya scent that was not from fragrance but from natural papaya. An ingredient that stood out to me was aloe to sooth the skin. This is also alcohol free and fragrance free. This product was super soft on the skin and felt nice but I have been using it for three weeks and have not seen any results. It cleans your skin and gets rid of dirt but, it hasn’t helped with my acne and pores at all. I will give you an update if I see any difference in results in these products but for now this is how I feel. Have you tried any of these? If so what were your thoughts?
This dr jart moisturizer is super light weight and is targeted to moisture your skin and sink in quickly. It is a light texture and turns in to almost liquid like when applied to the skin. It smells like fruit loops and leaves my skin moisturized with no residue left behind. It is $37 for a tube and this is a moisturizer I use fairly often in the mornings. It is light enough for a day time moisturizer but I prefer a thicker cream at night. I would say this is a four star moisturizer because it provides enough moisture but does not over saturate. I just prefer a slightly heavier cream for my day to day products. Dr. Jart+ - Water Drop Hydrating Moisturizer
Morning Skin - Thoughts and current routine
Summary: Probably should have smiled in the photo, but overall, I’d say I’m pretty happy with my skin at the moment. I’m definitely a fan of Korean skincare products as a whole - they’re inexpensive and nice quality. I’ve listed them down below, but I won’t go into too much detail here since I’m planning on making individual posts about them. Things I’m happy about: - Acne My skin has never been extremely acne-prone, but I’ve definitely had my fair number of flare-ups, particularly around the temple area. I’m pretty sure I spent a solid 6 months with rotating bumps around the top right and left of my forehead. After moving states and changing up a couple things in my routine, it seems to be pretty settled now. - Texture Yoooooo my skin feels soft when I wake up now and it’s so nice. Things to work on: - Under eye bags Sigh, this comes heavily from genetics (my mom has the same exact under eye bags) but not too sure how to tackle this one. I’ve been looking at a green tea based cleanser or some serums. Right now, just concealer will have to do 😔 - Redness/pigmentation You can’t see it too clearly in the photo, but I have some redness/patchiness around my cheeks. It’s not very noticeable from afar but something I always notice looking in the mirror. Nighttime Routine (from left to right): innisfree - Hydrating Micellar Cleansing Water THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright Foaming Cleanser MISSHA - Time Revolution Clear Toner Dr.G - Brightening Peeling Gel SK-II - Facial Treatment Oil Dr.G - RED-BLEMISH Clear Cream Any face masks Note: I only use the peeling gel and the face masks twice a month.

If You Have Oily Skin, You Can't Miss Out This Perfect Combo✔✔
This is definitely the best skincare combo, especially suitable for oily skin. I recommend it to all of you. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed! Kiehl's - Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol Free Toner This is already my second bottle. It's gentle, cooling, and not at all sticky. It also helps to ease acne, so it's especially suitable for oily, acne-prone skin. I've tried using Origin's Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion before, but it felt sticky and uncomfortable on my skin so I never repurchased it. Kiehl's Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner is completely alcohol-free. It cleanses, soothes, and improves problem areas. Using it as a toner mask helps maintain your skin's oil and water balance, promoting the healing of acne wounds. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration It's very suitable for sensitive, acne-prone skin. Its main ingredients are mostly natural extracts: ceramide, shea butter, oat extracts, etc. It's incredibly moisturizing, offers a fantastic ability to repair skin, soothes skin flushing, and reduces acne inflammation. I usually emulsify it between my palms first before pressing it onto my skin. It's absorbed quickly and doesn't cause acne breakouts. It's known as La Mer's drugstore alternative. What's your fav skincare combo?😉😉

Effective Evening Skincare Routine for Busy/ Lazy Ladies
Your to-do list feels endless, the days are long, and yet, we feel like we can’t get everything accomplished most of the time! On days when we feel overwhelmed and unproductive, a quick and relaxing night time skincare routine will help set us up for waking up to great skin. On usual evenings, I spend more time to take care of my skin as it gives me a chance to relax and unwind with the lovely scented products as well. I don’t use this routine often, maybe only once a month when I have a late night out or when I stay up late for work. Here are bare minimum I do to my combination skin in my PM routine in order to keep my complexion in tip-top shape. My priorities are to make sure that my T-zone and pores are cleansed thoroughly so that I don’t go to bed with clogged pores, and that my dry cheeks get their hydration recovery overnight. o Face scrub Exfoliation is critical for me, and I scrub my face at least once a week. I rarely wear make-up these days, so I skip make-up remover. A face scrub not only helps to cleanse the day’s debris and dirt off my face, it also assists to cleanse my pores and rough spots. My go-to scrub for the longest time is the ST. Ives - Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub, widely available in all stores. My skin gets extra nutrients from its formula containing 100% natural walnut shell powder to give soft, smooth, and glowing skin. o Tone and Moisturize Since a face scrub can still be drying for the face, the toner will still be part of the fast beauty routine. Instead of adding the face toner on a cotton pad, I apply the liquid with my palms for a quick hydrating boost. I use CLINIQUE - Clarifying Lotion 2 For Dry Combination Skin as it is one of the most effective toners I have used to clean and hydrate my combination skin well. The formula gets absorbed quickly into the skin, allowing me to quickly apply moisturizer as the next step. For moisturizer, I choose a trusty clean beauty product - sukin - Purely Ageless Restorative Night Cream 120ml to do two things at the same time. Formulated with richer ingredients like pure ribose, macadamia oil and cocoa butter for an intense hydration boost, the cream also works as an anti-aging cream also helps to improve skin elasticity and fight signs of ageing thanks to the added white hibiscus and baobab fruit. o Go to Sleep with Sleeping Mask Ever since I discoverd the convenience of a sleeping mask, I have never looked back. They put a whole new defination to sleeping beauty. When I just want to hit the pillow fast, I skip the sheet mask and slather on a rich, nourishing sleeping mask gel on my face for a quick, final seal of hydration on my face. My go-to sleeping mask is LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask, a cult beauty product in many places. I apply the soothing jelly-like cream on my moisturized face and leave it on overnight, until I wash my face on the next morning. Suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin, the sleeping mask with highly concentrated Hydro Ionized Mineral Water delivers high doses of moisture to my skin while I sleep. I also adore its relaxing trademark Calming Sleepscent, infused with orange flower, rose, and sandalwood. Check out the Lip Sleeping Mask product by the same brand too; you won’t regret it, especially in harsh winters.
CLINIQUE-Clarifying Lotion 2 For Dry Combination Skin
My Basic Skin Care Routine
Launched in 1968, Clinique premiered as the world’s first allergy tested, dermatologist-driven beauty brand at Saks Fifth Avenue in the New York. I I am currently on a basic Clinique skin care routine which works perfectly well on my combination skin (semi-oily T-zone and dry cheeks with the occasional breakouts on the forehead and chin). The brand is one of my favorites for its noticable clarifying effects without spending a big budget. 🌟Step 1: Take The Day Off Makeup Remover – 4.2oz / 6.7oz This make-up remover dissolves and removes my long-wearing makeup, even those layers of touch-ups added throughout the day. The liquid does not sting my face and feels gentle on my dry cheeks. To use: shake the bottle before using, then soaking a cotton ball or pad with remover. Cleanse one eye area at a time by applying to eye area and holding it for several seconds, then wipe with downward strokes. Repeat using fresh cotton ball if necessary. The remover can even tackle my long lasting lipstick (check my lipstick review) and waterproof mascara without drying my lips and eyes. Score! 🌟Step 2: Liquid Facial Soap Mild – 13.5oz I believe in a powerful yet gentle cleanser as a clean face is everything to having great and plump skin. Clinique liquid facial soap is a considered a cult product. It cleanses any remaining residue on my face without stripping my face dry. On days that I skip make-up products, just the facial soap does it for me. The pump dispenses also helps me obtain just the right amount to clean. To use: lather facial soap between palms and massage over face and throat. Rinse clean and pat the skin dry. I use this twice a day as it does not cause my skin to feel too tight. 🌟Step 3: Clarifying Lotion 2 – 6.7oz / 13.5oz / 16.5oz Already a must-have in my bathroom, Lotion 2 helps me to wipe away any dead skin and make-up residue for a tighter smoother skin. After using this for years, I am always assured that my face is indeed super clean, and it also helps to reduce the size of my pores. The lotion also helps the skin to better absorb the next step – moisturizer! Unlike other toners, Lotion 2 is not too drying for me and although it stings my face a little, I feel that it works best for my combination skin. To use: soak a cotton ball or pad, sweep over cleansed face and throat twice daily. 🌟Step 4: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel – 1.7oz / 4.2oz / 6.7oz Like Lotion 2, this moisturizer is one of my all-time favorites and although I do switch between different brands, I find myself going back to this one if I just need a a suitable moisturizer for my skin. This formula is best for oily combination or oily skin types, hence it is perfect for me to use all over the face and neck during warmer months or coupled with a strong serum in winter. I can spread the oil-free lightweight lotion across my face easily without it feeling too greasy (even on my T-zone) and my skin absorbs it really quickly too. Its natural ingredients keep my skin moisturized without feeling oily for the whole day or night.

Tips For Combination Skincare You Need To Know
Combination skin in is where your skin is oily in the forehead, chin and T-zone area (nose). But you may found your cheeks and other parts of the face very dry. Combination skin is like falls between oily and dry skin groups. It is caused by the overproduction of oil in some areas while the dry parts have less oil glands and moisture. Basically it is the imbalance of oil and hydration. Many people in this group would focus too much on Oil-control. Hydration is the priority and main cause and what we should actually focus on. Here are a few tips I want to share with combination skin. Stay balanced is the main purpose of our group who falls between oily and dry. Nice and tight moisturized. It has amazing ingredients and vitamin skin. Here is my skin care menu A.M.: Cleanser -> Toner -> Moisturizer or Day cream (Lightweight)-> Sunscreen (Zinc Oxide) P.M. Cleansing Gel -> Toner -> Serum -> Moisturizer On a weekly basis I would do 2 clay masks and face oil twice a day. Do’s From a wash off process as the first step in the skin care process, I would prefer a gel-based non-fragrance and non-foaming cleanser. I also prefer non-irritating ones. Don’ts When you have combination skin, it’s important to go with a gentle cleansing product that is not too harsh. Do not skip SPF. Wear sunscreen and always protect your skin from UV light for extra damage on cells. Here are two of my favorite timers that I love to use through out the year. they are both very light weighted and gentle. Light toners keep my skin calm and stable from acne outbreak or dryness. ORIGINS - Dr. Andrew Weil For Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion Limited Edition I use this after the facial cleanser. A little goes a long way. It gives an extra boost of hydration. Overall promotes really good balance and skin health. CAUDALIE - CAUDALIE Beauty Elixir This elixir really helps you feel fresh, clean, and pampered. I LOVE the slight herbal smell.

My Basic Oily Skin Routine 🖤✨
Step 1: Cleanse Cleansing is so important in skincare! If you don’t cleanse your skin properly your skincare isn’t going to be as effective and you aren’t going to see the results you want. I usually remove my make up with a make up removing balm (hello double cleansing method!) and then I go in with the FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser . I prefer gel cleansers for oily skin because they lift away dirt, oil, and other impurities from the skin without completely stripping it like foam cleansers can. It’s effective yet gentle. With this you only need a little bit and it takes off the last remaining bits of my make up. Step 2: Tone Toners are light weight liquids that prep the skin for the rest of your routine. They can provide essential ingredients and help hydrate the skin. The GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner is the only toner that has agreed with my skin. When choosing a toner you want to stay away from ones with alcohol or fragrance. Both can dry out and irritate the skin. Thankfully this one contains neither. This toner specifically promotes bright, even skin tone with less visible pores. The main ingredients is niacinamide (which I’ll go more into in the next step) which is my holy grail ingredient for oily skin. It also includes arbutin and licorice root extract to help to sooth inflammation and reduce pigmentation. This works for me because it adds a layer of hydration to my skin all while helping regulate my oil production. I’m also a little acne prone thanks to how oily my skin is and it helps soothe the inflammation from new pimples while helping fade the marks from old, healed ones. I’ve seen a huge difference in my skin from using this (paired with the next serum). Step 3: Serum Niacinamide. If you have oily skin (and all skin types can benefit from this) this serum helps regulate oil, fade dark spots, reduce the appearance of enlarged pores, and strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier. I really like the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum because it’s so lightweight and absorbs easily into the skin. It doesn’t feel sticky or sit on top of the skin. I’ve seen a huge improvement in the oil production in my skin. Step 4: Moisturizer Moisturizer is a must for oily skin! I really love the CLINIQUE - Clinique iD™ Custom-Blend Hydrator Collection because you can mix and match moisturizers and pumps based on your concerns. I use the hydrating jelly because you still need hydration in your skin or else you’re going to over produce oil. This is lightweight on the skin yet still adds that hydration back after cleansing. I also really like the blue cartridge because it has AHAs which retexturize the skin and help reduce the appearance of pores which I struggle with. I’ve been using this routine for about a year now and I’ve seen huge results in my oil production and pores. I do all these steps AM & PM. 🖤
