The Product: Berry Rich Face + Eye Cream Plus the free samples that came with my order From the brand: “A probiotic face cream. This velvety-rich, blue-hued probiotic face cream helps maintain and protect your microbiome (aka your skin barrier) while improving hydration, enhancing your skin’s radiance and luminosity.” They say this cream is intended for dry and mature skin. My skin is dry-combo but acne prone so I was a little wary of this product. It came in the set however, and i figured I could use it on dry patches or even on my body if worse came to worst. BOY WAS I SURPRISED. I started off testing it on some dry itchy skin around my nose. When that went well, i took the plunge and put it on my jawline to wear under a mask. At this point, I was JUST starting to realize that the cure to my maskne might actually be to stop attacking it with acids and use MORE moisture and HEAVIER creams, especially under the mask. It seemed so counterintuitive at the time but I was willing to try... and it freaking worked! This is absolutely my favorite occlusive ever. I no longer dread wearing a mask because it means i can slather this over my face first 😍. I also tested it out as a skin protectant while skiing, and it preformed A+ as a wind barrier. It has the most delicious scent that reminds me of berry buttercream icing or something. It smells edible thats for sure! most surprising maskne cure for me, absolutely recommend for the dry acne-prone, and shocked to say I will have to repurchase soon 😱 GRAYDON - Berry Rich Cream
Ingredient Highlights: * Arthrospira Platensis (Blue Majik) Extract: blue-green algae rich in phycocyanin, amino acids, vitamins & minerals. Helps increase firmness and smooth fine lines * Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter: heals and moisturizes skin exposed to the elements * Vaccinium Corymbosum (Blueberry) Seed Oil: rich in vitamin C to brighten skin, minimize dark spots, & promote circulation to lighten dark circles * Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate (Vegan Probiotics): improve and strengthen skin barrier, maintain balance of good bacteria which send signals to your immune system to stop inflammation, keeping acne and rosacea at bay Samples: GRAYDON - Aloe Milk Cleanser
This was a very nice gentle cleanser, but it didn’t feel any different than other, much cheaper, creamy cleansers. GRAYDON - Super Sensitive Skin Stuff
Also a very nice gentle ceramide cream, but just not worth the price when so many drugstore creams contain ceramides (eg all Cerave products) GRAYDON - Green Cream
This one I was really excited about and wanted to love. It contains TWO botanical retinol alternatives: moth bean extract (which I love so much in the Fullmoon Serum) and bakuchiol. Idk what it was, but I just didn’t like the smell... it smelled... bitter? to me, that’s the best way I can describe it. I also noticed some product pilling, but mostly the smell turned me off.

Carla_Health_Beauty_ChatWhat are your thoughts on the full moon serum? So expensive! But is it worth it?

kae_sensitiveOMG yes. I posted about that one first. I literally want to bathe in the stuff, it’s going to be the death of me 🤣 As much as I love supporting brands directly, I definitely got my second bottle from ebay. I have the search saved on ebay and mercari 🥴

Graydon Pt 2: Face mist I didn’t know I needed!
The Product: Face Food Mineral Mist “It gives your skin an instant glow-up by locking in moisture and creating a weightless protective barrier against environmental pollution.” This is another one of the products that donates $1 to Plastic Oceans with every purchase to clean up shorelines. It also comes in a 240mL refill size without the plastic pump! As with Graydon’s other products, this mist is clean, vegan, cruelty free, hypoallergenic, and safe for sensitive skin! I originally purchased the three-piece holiday set because I wanted to buy the Fullmoon Serum, but I also wanted to try the Face Food Mineral Mist, and it was just more cost effective to get the set! The brand notes that this mist can be used as a: toner, essence, after serum/moisturizer to help boost the absorption of actives, as a makeup finishing spray, or as a skin refresher! I don’t wear makeup, so I can’t speak to that use, but I have used it for almost every other purpose. My favorite use is applying it between serums or between a serum and my moisturizer. My skin likes to dry out quickly and sometimes it is hard to get products to absorb properly. When I first started layering products I had issues with pilling all the time. Adding in this misting step has helped with absorption tremendously! Additionally I love the gentle vanilla scent, and the anti pollution benefits. I live in a big city AND wear a mask all the time, my face can use all the protection it can get! This is quite pricey and I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for cheaper dupes? Because I don’t know of any dupes at the moment, I’m giving it full stars despite the price! GRAYDON - Face Food Mineral Mist Ingredient Highlights: White Tea Leaf Extract: high in catechins, the antioxidants in tea Magnesium: soothing to skin & combats skin allergies Copper: used in collagen & elastin production, and inhibits free radicals Silver: helps kill bacteria, reduces redness & blotchy skin, neutralizes harmful sodium-fluoride in water, & accelerates wound healing (including acne) Zinc: decreases inflammation, natural protection against UVA & UVB rays, & regulates oil production Malachite: semiprecious healing gemstone that detoxes skin, is an antioxidant and antipollution, & contains copper to increase collagen production Vanilla: Besides smelling delicious, is anti-inflammatory & also helps with wound healing/infections

Graydon: Retinol alternative from the gods!!!!!
Graydon [plant powered skincare] “what skin dreams are made of...” Graydon is a brand out of Canada that produces clean skincare with a focus on superfoods and active ingredients. They are cruelty-free and leaping bunny certified. All products are gluten free, reef safe, and all except Putty are vegan. They source their ingredients from small local farmers as much as possible and are committed to sustainability, partnering with Plastic Oceans to remove plastic from shorelines! My first Graydon purchase was their holiday set, & I have so much to say that I have to split this 3 into posts! The product: Fullmoon Serum I needed to add a retinol to my routine, but how? I have very sensitive skin and had a bad reaction to Differin in the past. I decided I wanted to start REALLY slow. I was originally looking into bakuchiol when I came across the Fullmoon serum. This serum is actually another botanical retinol alternative called moth bean extract that’s even more gentle than bakuchiol! I am OBSESSED with this serum. I love how easily it absorbs into my skin. I also love the smell! As a sensitive skin person I stay away from fragrance of any kind and it feels so luxurious to use something with such a pleasant and gentle natural scent. The scent is a light floral with a hint of herbiness and almost sweet smelling. I also love the great things it is doing for my face! For me it has been strong enough to smooth out my skin and clear up my acne! This isn’t just a retinol alternative, it is really a do it all serum. I already finished the travel size and bought the full size. This serum is pricey, but absolutely worth it! My holy grail! GRAYDON - Fullmoon Serum Ingredient Highlights: * Moringa: contains amino acids, minerals, antioxidants, and vitamin C! It is anti-pollution, preventing the adhesion of particles to the skin, providing a protective shield * Malachite: A healing gemstone that detoxes skin, is antioxidant, and contains copper to increase collagen production * Hyaluronic Acid: everyone’s favorite for hydration * Moth Bean extract: more gentle than regular retinol but just as effective, it helps boost cell renewal. It also contains phenolic compounds like ferulic acid which protect against UV damage * Collagen: derived from African Mahogany Bark Extract * Peptides: oligopeptides from Hibiscus Esculentus Extract * Blue Tansy: the blue oil everyone loves in Herbivore’s Lapis and Sunday Riley’s Luna. This is useful for soothing skin and combatting allergies * Aromatic Fruit Extracts: plant ingredients soaked in water for a long time to infuse their aromas and medicinal properties. They have similar benefits to essential oils, but are very gentle and don’t post the risk of sensitivities! Let me know if you’ve tried it!! I’m obsessed. Just take my money 💰

Top 2020 Toners 🌬
I love a good toner, that either helps the skin absorb the following skincare steps in a routine, or has an active that gently exfoliates the skin. 1. For general hydration 💦 my go-to has been GRAYDON - Face Food Mineral Mist , containing inflammatory-reducing ingredients, like silver, magnesium, zinc, copper, with a slight vanilla scent. At night, I use it after cleansing, before applying hyaluronic acid and oil serums. In the morning, I don’t cleanse my face, I refresh my skin and wake myself up with this instead, before applying on a moisturizer. 2. An exfoliating toner 🧹 I was using a lot at the beginning of the year is @sahajanskincare’s sahajan - Balance Toner . It’s an Ayurvedic blend, containing moringa oil, rose water, fruit extracts and salicylic acid, so it’s gentle on the skin while smoothing out texture, overtime (which is why I use it less often now). After direct use, the skin feels soft rather than tight. I remember being amazed at how quickly it was able to reduce incoming blemishes and recent dark spots. Both of these toners also claim to protect the skin from pollution, but more on that later. Are you more of a hydrating or exfoliating toner type of person? Top 2020 Serums 💦
It felt like the year of serums, I usually use a hydrating serum then an oil to lock in the moisture. Here are the ones I really enjoyed ✨ GRAYDON - Fullmoon Serum 💦 (#giftedPR; discount code 15VALCHEMIC) - my multitasking serum: a retinol alternative (moth bean), vegan HA (senna), vitamin C (moringa) - correct & protect type: reduces fine lines + the appearance of breakouts/scars; keeps the skin hydrated - beautiful cyan colour from soothing blue tansy + anti-pollution malachite When it comes to HA serums, I usually prefer them more plump, but this won me over. PUUR Ingrid - Repair Booster 🩹 Disclaimer: I’m not high maintenance when it comes to skincare oils, unless I need one with a specialized function. I could really get by with jojoba alone (shout out skincare minimalism), but I’m quite impressed with this one! - my favourite daily oil - contains collagen-boosting squalane, antioxidant Berkemyol green tea + pine bark + other oils like grape seed, rose hip seed, apricot kernel - pleasant scent, reminiscent of baby oil It does contain some essential oils, like lavender, rose geranium & ylang ylang. Fortunately, they don’t overdo it on the two aforementioned EOs, and personally I love ylang ylang, so I’m content. Note: I usually don’t use these at the same time. How do you feel about oils? Do you notice a huge difference between most of them? Or are you happy with most of them?

Oct-Nov Empties 🗑 🧴
[Swipe to see which ones I repurchased/replaced] It’s nice to get closer to a point where I know what works for me, so I don’t have to keep trying a bazillion new products that may ended up going to waste! ♻️ • GRAYDON - Green Cream Phyto Clear (fka Green Cream) sample replaced by a full sized bottle 💦 this botanical retinol works amazing as a spot treatment for incoming acne/recent scars & helps loosen up my milia. Can be used on full face for oily skin types. • calia - Organic Intensive Conditioner is one of the few hair products that doesn’t break my eczema-prone neck out & makes my hair softer, so already repurchased 👌🏽 • Corpa Flora seasonal Tangerine Tango cleansing oil - great for makeup removal & slightly emulsifies with warm water, repurchased the Corpa Flora - Beauté Divine Sensitive Skin Cleansing Oil sensitive skin version with next to no essential oils. • GRAYDON - Aloe Milk Cleanser was shared between my partner & me. Great quick face wash for sensitive skin. Might repurchase in the future, but for now I’m using up the @lifancenaturalskincare Restore (milk) cleanser, with gently exfoliating white willow bark, I’ve been gifted with👍🏽 • routine. - The Curator Natural Deodorant I LOVE THIS NATURAL DEO. They have a baking soda free version THAT ACTUALLY WORKS 👏🏽 I finished my 2nd jar of The Curator and now trying out Woah! blackberry Betty - makes me smell like berries 😸

Trending Super Ingredient: Bakuchiol
Though I’ve worked really hard to get back my clear skin, after having head-to-toe eczema, I still struggle with stubborn milia that pops up wherever it pleases, from my lips to my eyes. After trying many exfoliants and serums, the only solution for me is botanical retinol. Yes botanical. Retinoids (vitamin A derivatives) are great anti-aging and anti-breakout ingredients. As great as retinol is, it has some downsides, like being unstable when exposed to UV light, which could contribute to skin sensitivity and irritation. The last thing we need! Botanical retinol, such as bakuchiol which comes from the Babchi herb, is both effective and stable, and can even be safely worn during the day and/or with other products! The lack of irritating side effects also makes it useful for sensitive and dry skin. It’s beneficial for anti-aging, as it helps boost collagen production, and is anti-inflammatory antioxidant. I’ve noticed my smile lines fill out since using GRAYDON - Fullmoon Serum which contains another botanical retinol alternative derived from Moth bean, which I’ve mentioned in previous posts. For breakouts, my go-to is the GRAYDON - Green Cream as the bakuchiol is anti-microbial helping alleviate oily and acne prone skin. It’s a light cream that absorbs quite well into the skin. I like to use it at night as my last skin routine step, as a spot treatment on any breakouts and milia. I’ve noticed that after a few weeks of continuous use, the once stubborn milia begins to scab and then naturally falls off. The scaring doesn’t last long as the retinol alternative quickly turns over the skin cells, making my skin appear like nothing happened ✨ *Green Cream has now been renamed to Phyto Clear, but it’s gonna take a while for me to get through this bottle as a little goes a very long way! But I’ll definitely be buying the rebranded version if I still have similar skin concerns then. #CheriePartner

More Reviews

I wanna jump right in & share
I wanna jump right in & share some products with you that I've been thoroughly reviewing the last few weeks. . The Glo Skin Beauty Daily Power C+  is undoubtedly the most potent Vitamin C serum I've ever used! With a whopping 20% Vitamin C concentrate, this baby is no joke! I've definitely noticed a more youthful glow since I started using it. . The Glo Skin Beauty Restorative Cream is so rich & hydrating, and smells incredible! With skin-strengthening antioxidants, conditioning agents, & botanical extracts you can guarantee your skin is getting all the nourishment it needs, leaving you with some seriously silky, hydrated skin. . And what's a good moisturizer without a nice exfoliant to use before hand?! The Glo Skin Beauty Brightening Polish is my new go-to exfoliant for any dead skin I have that needs banishing. With a combination of environmentally-friendly Jojoba beads & modified cellulose, it works gently, yet effectively to remove dull surface cells & debris to enhance the absorption of our own natural brighteners without causing any stress to our skin. . The Phyto-Active Cream Cleanser is a luxurious firming cream that converts to a rich lather & exfoliates gently with papaya enzymes to rinse away impurities. It has both cleansing & conditioning agents, and was formulated not only to cleanse, but to prepare skin to effectively receive peptides & plant stem cells. I personally feel this one's just a bit rich for my liking, but I can see myself reaching for it when my skin is extremely dry & dehydrated. . The Phyto-Active Eye Cream is a firming eye cream that targets expression lines & extreme dryness around the eye area, loading your orbital sockets with intense hydration, while firming and protecting the eye area. It's also made to help reduce the appearance of puffiness & dark circles.

Hello, cermides!
Hello, cermides!
Seiso, pronounced SAY-soh, is inspired by the third of five principles in the Japanese 5S philosophy. The Seiso principle means “clean, tidy, and elegant.” The 5S philosophy emphasizes daily improvement, clearing away the unnecessary, and focusing on quality essentials.⁣ ⁣ This line focus on reversing ceramide loss by replenishing skin with long-chain ceramides. Ceramide loss can lead to dryness, dullness, irritation, loss of elasticity and that “healthy glow.” The Seiso ceramide complex is 100% natural and sourced in Japan. It's extracted from koji by using the ancient art of soy-sauce production. ⁣ ⁣ Here's the run down: ⁣ ☁️ Fuwafuwa Foaming Cleanser: this cleanser is already one of my favorites! Fuwafuwa means “soft and cloudlike” in Japanese and it describes this cleanser perfectly. It's gentle enough for everyday use. It's not like other foam cleansers I've used. It's puffy cloudlike texture leaves my skin feeling super clean, soft, and hydrated. ⁣ ⁣ ☁️ Pure Ceramide Concentrate: water-like drops that feature 100% natural, human-identical ceramide. It helps replenish the daily loss of ceramides, improves hydration, reduces inflammation, and promotes natural barrier repair.⁣ ⁣⁣ ☁️Ceramide Moisture Milk: this baby soaks beautifully into the skin and also works to prevent ceramide loss, improves hydration, reduce inflammation, and promotes skins natural berrier!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ☁️Water Velvet Cream: like a tall glass of water for your skin, this daily moisturizer helps moisturize, plump, and seal in hydration! Helps protects skin from outside pollution, weather, dirt, and makeup!⁣⁣ ⁣ ⁣*Kindly gifted

It’s time for a review on the
It’s time for a review on the jkosmmune products that I have been using for the past 4 weeks. Long story short... I’m really impressed and loving this line! The main ingredient that sets them apart is beta glucan. It is said to be more hydrating than hyaluronic acid, so from the start I was here for it. When I did a little more research I discovered it’s main purpose is actually to help soothe redness and that is something I always look for and have been impressed with after using their products! Their products are also cruelty free, vegan friendly, fragrance free, and gluten free. Free of parabens, ethanol, mineral oil, silicon, talc, benzophenone, paraffin, and phenoxyethenal. ◾️The cleanser: I am obsessed with the fact that the enzyme powder cleanser comes in individual single use packets. Talk about travel friendly. When you add water and mix in your hands the powder suds up and goes on the skin smoothly. They recommend to let it sit for 20 seconds but sometimes I do a little longer. When I rinse my skin feels so clean and soft! It’s 99.9% beta glucan and papaya-derived enzyme. ◾️The toner: As anyone who follows me knows, I’ve been obsessed with the indie lee toner and how hydrating it is. This toner is in direct competition! I’ll never get rid of my Indie Lee, but I will definitely be purchasing the jksommune one and will have both in my routine! I love using them in the morning for extra hydration on my dry skin. It’s alcohol free and feels nourishing and hydrating! ◾️The serum: I have really been enjoying this serum so far. I have very dry skin with fine lines and this serum is very hydrating and makes my skin feel plump and supple. I’m excited to keep using it and see long term results! ◾️The lotion: I will admit this one I’ve used the least amount because I totally neglect my body (really planning to work on that), but the ingredients sound great and my dry skin needs hydration so I’m excited to use this more! I haven’t used it on my face yet but curious to see how it will work! I have so many moisturizers and to be honest didn’t realize this could be used on the face!

I've been using the lumene Val
I've been using the lumene Valo line as my exclusive morning routine for the past week and a half. While this isn't enough time to tell whether the brightening aspects are working, I can tell you that these are all lovely, hydrating, lightweight products. It's always nice to be able to test a whole range together, as the products are formulated to complement each other. When used together this routine has made my skin softer and provided the perfect amount of moisture to keep my combo skin hydrated but not oily. Lumene Valo Cleansing Balm - a lovely creamy cleansing balm that effectively took off my light makeup when used at night and left skin feeling very clean. I think this is more suited to an evening routine as it's more cleansing than I need in the morning. Lumene Valo Glow Refresh Hydrating Mist - this mist toner provides a layer of watery moisture, crucial for the summer months. Very light and gentle, and doesn't sting my eyes! Lumene Valo Glow Boost Essence - a super hydrating essence rich in vitamin C. Feels very light and non-greasy. Has become my go-to hydrating serum! Lumene Valo Glow Reveal Day Cream - the perfect weight moisturizer for combination skin. More hydrating than a gel, but very light for a cream. Absorbs impressively well!

I'm going to bring you two bra
I'm going to bring you two brands that I recently discovered . lingskincare formulate their products using a holistic philosophy merging traditional Asian beauty principles with State-of-the-Art ingredients. 🌿Triple Action Exfololiator formulates with pineapple enzymes, crushed almonds, and honey. It claims to erase impurities and dead skin. I use this twice a week. I was expecting this to be stripping since most exfoliators are. But this leaves my face so so soft every time. A must try from this brand. 🌿Replenish Hydrator contains Hyaluronic Acid and Rose water. This toner helps balance my skin and makes it super soft! I use this every day and oh my love love. 🌿Moisture Replenish Serum contains, hyaluronic acid, bamboo, lotus, and water lily. It claims to hydrate, firming, and diminish the look of fine lines. This definitely a great hydration serum. My skin is plumper nowadays. 🌿DNA DONOTAGE CELLULAR YOUTH EXTENSION CREAM.Infused with Teprenone, hylarunonic acid, and squalane.Teprenone was recognized with a Nobel Prize for its ability to help skin appear healthier looking and younger-acting. It claims to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. This cream is thick and very moisturizing., After using these altogether for more than a month every day. I highly reccomend this brand.

2nd Fave F-WORD: Frankincense.
2nd Fave F-WORD: Frankincense.  ⁣ Frankincense essential oil is a powerful astringent, meaning it helps protect skin cells. That's why it makes a great ingredient that prevent wrinkles, as well as lift and tighten skin to naturally slow signs of aging. No wonder Neals Yard Remedies uses it in their best-selling product, the Frankincense Intense. ⁣⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⁣ I took the cream for a spin and have to concede, this is an AWESOME product and I love it. I noticed a difference to my skin overnight...Definitely helps with firming and lifting. 👩🏻 IMO, the cream is definitely on par with Creme de La Mer only this contains cleaner ingredientsand is also cheaper in comparison (S$148). 🥰⁣ ⁣ I also love the Rejuvenating Frankincense Facial Wash (a creamy cleanser) and the Rejuvenating Frankincense Toner. The facial wash cleanses pretty well for a cream cleanser that does not lather while the toner is a delight to use because the scent is so intoxicating.😍🤩 ⁣ The Eye & Lip Serum is probably the weakest link here for me. I've actually used it some years ago and did not find it particularly great for my issues. I use it on my eye area only though and find its performance decent enough, just not exceptional.👀⁣ ⁣ But this entire range definitely smells divine. If you have some money to splurge, I'll recommend checking them out.🍀🍀🍀⁣
