makeup in the military
🇺🇸 happy memorial day weekend! 🌊 explaination I’m an active duty service member in the Navy. Balancing femininity with the confines of a uniform can be pretty difficult at times. A lot of people question how much makeup I am allowed to wear and how/when. And I wear a full face! 🌊 so what can you wear? The general guidelines (lot of paraphrasing here) are that makeup must look natural looking, not be faddish, and not use overly bright colors/glitter. Special occasions do call for special looks, but I tend to wear the same products everyday. 🌊 what I do My goal is to make it look like I’m not wearing makeup even though I probably spent 30-40 minutes on my face that morning. I tend to skip eyeshadow to save time, especially with my hooded eyes. feel free to ask any questions! 🌊 My current daily makeup lineup Primer: Milk MAKEUP - Hydro Grip Primer Concealer: MAYBELLINE - SuperStay Better Skin Concealer Setting Powder: REVOLUTION - Conceal & Fix Setting Powder Blush: Milk MAKEUP - Lip + Cheek Bronzer: Milk MAKEUP - Matte Bronzer Brow Pencil ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Perfect Brow Pencil Brow Gel benefit - Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel Setting Spray Urban Decay All Nighter Mascara Too Faced Damn Girl!
this works for oily skin!
🌊 TikTok has a ton of beauty hacks that I was pretty dubious about but this worked surprisingly well for me. Pic one is 4 hours of wear, Pic two is immediately after application, pic 3 is products used. 🌊 Skin Type: Oily and Medium Tan 🌊 The hack: instead of going moisturizer, primer, foundation, setting powder, setting spray go moisturizer, setting powder, setting spray, primer, foundation 🌊 What you need moisturizer, setting powder, setting spray, primer, foundation in this order 🌊 Does it work? YES. Its supposed to make your skin look better and your foundation last longer by absorbing oil below your foundation. And as an oily girl, i am all for anything that keeps my face matte longer. On initial application, i noticed that the side of my face with the reverse routine looked more poreless. After a few hours, i had much more oil on the Normal side in comparison to the Reverse. Give it a try! I was pretty happy with the results, but let me know if it worked for you!
I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT the Perfect Combo!
I have combination-oily skin and I stay indoors in the office a lot, so I want my workday foundation to be long-lasting and to not cause acne breakouts. Before now, only BareMinerals Blemish Remedy Foundation shade 2 could meet my requirements. However, the foundation has a coarse grainy texture, easily emphasizes pores and dullness of skin complexion, and creates a natural but unrefined makeup look. Recently, I realized that stila - One Step Primeand CHANTECAILLE - Compact Makeup are a good match. You can apply a layer of stila - One Step Prime after wearing your sunscreen to help improve skin tone. It creates a natural look: The green tone instantly neutralizes redness, the lavender tone counteracts sallow undertones, and the peach tone helps diminish the appearance of dark circles. It's a clay mineral oil-free primer, scent-free and alcohol-free, so it's suitable for combination-oily and acne-prone skin. After applying Stila primer, apply another layer of CHANTECAILLE - Compact Makeup- shade Cashew. The powder has a fine texture, provides great coverage, and is able to cover blemishes not covered by the primer. The powder itself is not shine-free but after using Stila primer as a base, makeup can last for a long time. I recommend this primer to those who have the same needs.
DIOR made me do it!! THOUGHTS?
After buying this and trying it, let me just say I’m not that impressed by it, needlessly to say. I’m out $40 and suck with a crappy foundation. [Skin Background] I have oily skin and find my skin very oily after an hour using a normal matte foundation. I have large pores. [Makeup Preference] I use a pore primer before my foundation. Even though I have oily skin, I love my skin to look glowy (and not from my skin oils) I like a great breathable matte foundation and a NATURAL highlight. [Review] My skin isn’t perfect but when I wear a full coverage foundation I want it to cover my sins! Haha. Not to mention, not smell like perfume the whole day....I really tried to like this product, I wore it twice and each time I found my face SO dry.....I did no different with my makeup routine or changed my products. I applied my usual primer, concealer, and powder. I went and worked a five hour shift (yesterday) and as much as I LOVE a long lasting foundation, I want it to be breathable. I found it reflecting areas on my face that were drier. This definitely made it to my DO NOT use list. After five hours I could still smell my foundation, so that was another DO NOT use....What I did love about this foundation was that it was REALLY lightweight and had great coverage! **If you have sensitive skin, DO NOT use this product. It may become irritated due to fragrance. **

HOURGLASS-Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation
URBAN DECAY - Stay Naked Weightless Foundation I have super oily skin, which is acne prone. So I’m always looking for a lightweight foundation that won’t clog my pores and have me looking cakey. I've been wearing makeup for the longest, I'm familiar with what works out for my skin. I've gone from drug store to high end but for some reason every time I would try a foundation I would Never fall in love with it because of my oily skin. But this one is the one I fell in love with! I usually work a 8 hour shift walking up and down and this does the job after a long day. It looks like skin but 10x better! It's a medium to full coverage foundation and I love how it doesn't feel like you have foundation on. I recommend this to anyone who likes something light on the skin but still gets u a nice medium coverage.

One of my favorites is this red correction concealer. I use this for dark areas such as black circles, over small pimples and dark spots. IT COVERS EVERYTHING, if you blend it well! Top it off with concealer and my favorite foundation. I love it. Great and affordable corrector.

Kosas Tinted Oil Foundation
For starters : I bought this myself, I was in no way influenced by the brand in anyway. That being said I was secondarily influenced by instagram. I first heard about @kosascosmetics when many fellow bloggers were given PR. I reached out the the brand and got some samples of their tinted face oil (enough to figure out my shade). From the samples I liked how light and dewy the formulation was so decided to give the full size a try. I already had a medium dewy coverage foundation I liked (@tartecosmetics rainforest by the SEA water foundation) so I waited to buy it until I was out. The above photo is me wearing shade 3.5 with @supergoop unseen sunscreen as primer. After testing for a full week here’s my final thoughts. COVERAGE: Per the brand this is supposedly medium coverage, however I would definitely call it LIGHT. It helped some of my overall redness but you can definitely still see it. I also feel like it doesn’t cover hyperpigmentation well so I wouldn’t count it as medium. I tried multiple application techniques including anywhere from 3-10 drops blended with my fingers or a beauty blender. Using the beauty blender I definitely noticed less coverage as much of it absorbed into the sponge. However because of less product I was less shiny with this application. WEAR: I tested this foundation in a high-stress environment (my 15 hr overnight shift at the hospital). During this time I sweat, stressed, and slept. I did notice some transfer to my pillow as well as less coverage the end of the night. However I did like that there was never any caking and it defiantly looked like I wasn’t wearing any makeup. Overall: I’m going to return this. I’m already an oily gal so I don’t need the extra dew that this oil formula gives. I’m quite sad because I can see how if you are dry/normal this can give you a healthy glow with subtle color correction. I need more redness coverage in a foundation and this basically slides off my face. She feels nice and didn’t cause any breakouts but it doesn’t warrant the $42 price tag for what it does for me.
