👩🏼Blonde hair YAYS N NAYS👩🏼🦳
My hair is naturally black and straight, but I’ve had it processed over the years to be a silvery-blonde color that I maintain with blonde hair care products. As my hair is damaged, dry, and needs color toning products, I am very picky about what I use. Here are some YAYS and NAYS that I’ve picked up from Sephora. YAYS IGK - Mixed Feelings Blonde Essentials Set ($21.50 and worth $44) Okay fam, if you can, get this set! It’s got a full sized IGK - Mixed Feelings Purple Leave-In Blonde Toning Drops ($29) that you can add to any product to help tone the brassiness out of your hair and I absolutely adore it. I mix it with my post shower hair oil and with IGK - Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm ($15) to create leave-in products that are blonde friendly. Such a good price for effective products YAY KÉRASTASE - Blond Absolu Anti-Brass Purple Shampoo KÉRASTASE - Blond Absolu Strengthening Conditioner This violet pigmented shampoo and conditioner are a perfect pair for keeping brassiness out of my hair. I liked the sample set I got so much that I’m going to splurge and buy the full size ($35 for 250 mL shampoo, $40 for 250 mL conditioner). I leave the shampoo on my hair for about five minutes to let it sink in, and no, I don’t leave the water on. The shampoo tones and hydrates and conditioner makes my hair smooooth and shiny. My only issue with it is the mega price tag, especially when Matrix and Joico make a similar and less expensive product. NAY ALTERNA - CAVIAR Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture Conditioner ALTERNA - CAVIAR Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture Shampoo ($34 for 250 mL each) So, I thought this was a blonde friendly product because of the purple packaging… my mistake.I have SO many issues with this product, and the ingredients are the biggest issue. It uses CAVIAR EXTRACT Like the fish eggs. I wish I had read that before trying this out, because I try to only use vegan products and this IS NOT IT. It also contains seasilk which is supposed to protect your hair from heat damage. This shampoo and conditioner is also supposed to be anti-aging for hair, which is not a good way to sell it, as hair is already dead cells. Damage prevention is a better tagline, but my hair didn’t feel any lighter or nicer after these products.

💄give me some BALM 💋
💄 This Sephora Favorites lip balm set is a *kisses fingers* set of perfection! Because of COVID, I’ve been wearing a mask all the time and there’s no point to lip color when no one can see it. And all that humidity makes my lips chapped. This set came to the rescue. 💋 For $29, you get five lip balms ($89 value), TWO of which are full size! It includes 🌸 Full Size tarte - SEA Quench Lip Rescue Balm $19. A beautifully tinted and shiny lip balm that hydrates and makes my lips soft and shiny. I love this balm and the clean brand Tarte, which uses vegan ingredients and doesn’t do animal testing. It doesn’t have a scent and the color is so natural. 💋 Full Size PAT McGRATH LABS - Lip Fetish Balm $36. A sheer and hydrating lip balm that I would never pay $36 for normally, but am happy to have. The packaging is so cute and with nice ingredients like shea butter and vitamin E, my lips feel so smooth. 👄 Lil fresh - Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment $13. From acclaimed lip therapy brand Fresh, this delicious smelling lip treatment containes beeswax, jojoba oil, and olive oil to smooth out lips and heal any cracks. 🌸 Lil Too Faced - Peaches & Cream Lip Balm $6. 🎃 Halloween 🦇 Skincare 💀
🎃 ‘tis the SPOOKY SEASON with Halloween around the corner, Halloween make up looks are IN. Putting this much product on your face can cause a lot of buildup and breakouts! Here is what I do to prevent that! 🦇 My Skin - oily and acne prone: because I can’t acne even if I’m not irritating my skin, I have to be extra careful when using eyeshadow all over my face 💀 how i CLEAN 1) always double cleanse! i use an Oil cleanser like DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser to remove makeup. i let it melt into my skin and then rub it in before rinsing. I like this putter cleanser, but it is more expensive than I usually like to buy I don’t use makeup wipes, i use a makeup eraser like MakeUp Eraser - MakeUp Eraser to get any extra traces. it’s better for your skin, and better for the environment. are usually use this if i have any waterproof stuff left on my face 2) cleanser 2 Murad - Time Release Acne Cleanser I use a cleanser with salicylic acid to get out any extra oil and clean the gunk out of my skin. This is more of a treatment stuff than a make up removal stuff. I like this cleanser because it calms my skin while treating it 3) exfoliating lil scrubber tarte - Cleansing Cutie Scrubber this little exfoliating scrub her from tart is only seven dollars, andI use it whenever I need a little extra physical exfoliation in my routine. do it every day SK can irritate any active spots I have, if I’m doing a look like the one in this picture, sometimes you need a little extra manpower

Calling all my oily peeps!!!
This is a first impressions review as I tried this yesterday all day 🖤 Before this last order, I hadn’t tried much of boscia. I did a review on the chia seed moisturizer which I really like for my super dry skin days. I actually got this Revitalizing Black Charcoal Hydration Gel on sale for $25.00 😆 regular price being $40.00!! 🖤 Description and claims— Minimize the appearance of pores, refine skin texture, and brighten skin with an ultra-cool, ultra-light gel moisturizer formulated with Black Charcoal and Vitamin C. Complexion is instantly left feeling smooth, refreshed and clarified. 🖤 I bought this because I desperately needed a moisturizer that kept my make up actually on my face. So I applied under my makeup yesterday without a primer. The second picture shows that 3+ hours after I applied my makeup, I had NO OIL!! My face felt soft and totally matte!!! The charcoal in this gel moisturizer really does soak it up! The texture in picture 3 , you can tell it’s super light. It leaves no black on your face at all and absorbs really well. It also does a wonderful job of keeping you hydrated which is hard to do while controlling oil at the same time! So as a first impression, I’m hooked! This is absolutely a game changer for me!! 🖤 I’ll do another review in a few weeks but I can confidently say that if you struggle with oil slicks under your makeup you should definitely give this a try!!

Purging vs. breakouts
I found this nifty chart on Instagram and though I would give this a share! The actual term for skin purging is a reaction to an active ingredient that is increasing skin cell turn over. As the skin cell turn over rate speeds up, ones skin will start shedding dead skin cells faster then normal. Skin purging looks like any type of acne. It can look like small, tender, red bumps on the skin and can be accompanied by black heads and white heads. Some other ingredients that aren’t listed in the chart above that can cause skin purging are benzoyl peroxide, lactic acid, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid. Chemical peels and laser treatments can produce a similar effect on the skin. Dermatologists say that skin purging lasts 4-6 weeks or about 28 days. If you are experiencing a purge that lasts longer then 6 weeks you should consult a dermatologist. Breakouts are when the openings of hair follicles on the face and body becomes clogged and blocked with oil and dead skin cells. When the clogged pore becomes infected with bacteria, it will form a pimple. There are numerous reasons that cause breakouts such as hormonal imbalances, unhealthy diets, excessive stress, excessive production of sebum, upon many more things. Same as purging, breakouts should only last 28 days (4-6 weeks). If a breakout last longer then 6 weeks consult a dermatologist. You should also discontinue the use of products that are exacerbating you breakouts.
BLEACH YOUR HAIR IN THE SUN!?☀️
Product: sun bum - Blonde Formula Hair Lightener $15 What is it? This is a hair mist that is formulated to lighten/brighten your hair when activated by sunlight. It is formulated with UV protection, pineapples, and coconuts. Why I bought the product? I bought this product as an alternative to using lemon juice in my hair in the summer as a lightener. How to use? To use, I just spray all over my hair. Impressions? My first impressions were that the product smells amazing- coconuts and pineapples🥥 🍍 The product did lighten my hair at first but with continued use it started to become brassy. This is most likely because I am a brunette with blonde highlights and this product is intended for blondes. Will I repurchase? Because it protects against the sun and smells so good, I will probably repurchase. Although it turns my hair brassy, a toner can always fix that. What sun-in products to you love using to lighten up your hair in the sun? ⬇️☀️

The Ordinary: Direct Acids
Who doesn’t love a good acid? These are the current ones I own by The Ordinary. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution ➕ Glycolic acid toner is so nice. I reach for this multiple times a week. It’s perfect to even out skin tone, texture, and to remove that extra makeup you may have missed while cleansing. This is so affordable and also still gentle on the skin at 7% glycolic acid. The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% ➕ I don’t reach for this acid as often, not because I don’t enjoy it, but because it’s not easily available in Canada. I ordered it from the UK and it cost me almost 3x the price. I do enjoy using it as spot treatment. It’s perfect for brightening and improves skin texture. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution ➕ This is a stronger peel. Works like a mask where you apply it for no more than 10 minutes and wash off. Your skin is softer and smoother after. This isn’t an acid peel for beginners or those with really sensitive skin as the acid contents is quite a bit higher. This contains 5 acids: glycolic, lactic, citric, salicylic, & tartaric. The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA ➕Lactic acid is a high-strength superficial peel. It exfoliates and brightens the skin. This is a more serum-like texture. It comes in 5% or 10%. Really nice product in my opinion; provides quick results for smooth skin :) The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA ➕ This is by far my favourite acid. It’s a superficial dermal peel as well and it’s more gentle than other AHAs. It’s more gentle because it has larger molecules and say glycolic acid, which in turn allows it to penetrate the skin slower. The Ordinary offers more direct acids, such a salicylic acid, but these are the ones I own and enjoy.
