how to clear up your fungal acne
growing up i never really had acne. it wasn’t until maybe 8th grade till i noticed some texture on my forehead and it only got worse throughout my freshman year of high school. after trying every acne treatment ever invented (ok maybe not all of them) ive finally have found out a way to maintain my FA so that i dont look like 14 year old me anymore 😳 what is fungal acne? fungal acne ( malassezia folliculitis ) is when the healthy yeasts that live on your skin get too comfortable and start to grow. causing that raised itchy texture we all hate what causes fungal acne weather ( hot humid climate ) sweat stress certain ingredients (lipids, polysorbates, esters, oils, and fermented ingredients) what to avoid ok so as said in the previous section, certain ingredients can promote the growth of malassezia. and it just so happens that a HUGE percentage of skincare on the market will be formulated with these types of ingredients. i know very sucky so here are some ingredients to avoid! -absolutely NO oils. the only oils that are fungal acne safe are squalane oil, mineral oil, MCT oil. -all polysorbates including 20, 40, 60, 80 -fermented ingredients ESPECIALLY galacmyces -fatty acids ( stearic, linoleic, myristic, oleic) just to name a few -esters ( glyceryl stearate is the most common one) treatment and ingredients that help -Curology - Curology formula ( clindamycin, niacinamide, azelaic acid, zinc pyrithione) - green tea extracts -honey/ propolis extract -slicylic acid (bha) -sulfur ( De La Cruz - Sulfur Ointment, Acne Medication, Maximum Strength) - tea tree oil - urea - sun exposure 😀🌤 - then we have the inti dandruff shampoo like Nizoral - Anti Dandruff Shampoo and head & shoulders - Classic Clean Daily-Use Anti-Dandruff Shampoo but in my opinion i find them to be unaffected but idk try it for yourself some of my favorite products for fa -CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser -Curology - Curology formula( azelaic acid, clindamycin, zinc pyrithione) -NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% -Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum -FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Coconut Water Cream -FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Oil-Control Moisturizer for more information about fungal acne go to www.simpleskincarescience.com and go read “The Fungal Acne Treatment Bible (2020): Cure Malassezia With Science!” to check if your skincare products are fa safe go to - folliculitisscout.com -sezia.co -skincarisma.com ( that one isn’t as reliable but it still pretty good) like and share! xo melanie

Derm Tips for the Ordinary Peeling Solution
The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution The Ordinary Peeling Solution is one of the best products you can buy for less than $10. When used correctly, there are so many benefits to this product! Here’s my review of the product with safety tips first. Safety Tips: -If you are new to skincare, this product is not for beginners. You want to have a consistent skin care routine for at least a month before adding this in -Patch test an area on your inner arm prior to applying this to the face. I’ve seen many people end up with chemical burns from this product -For first time use, use only for 5 minutes prior to washing off with water -Do not apply this on the same night as other strong actives (retinoids, other acids) -For darker skin types, glycolic acid in this product can lead to hyperpigmentation if used for too long. Do not use longer than 5 minutes if you are prone to hyperpigmentation Benefits: -Exfoliates the skin -Improves skin texture -Improves skin tone -Helps fight acne -Improves acne scars -Makes pores less obvious -Improves fine lines and wrinkles -Fades hyperpigmentation How to apply: 1. See safety tips above 2. Wash face with gentle cleanser 3. Apply to finger tips 4. Apply to dry skin in treatment areas 5. Leave on for 5-10 minutes 6. Wash off with water 7. Pat dry Conclusions: I absolutely love this product and I highly recommend it. However, I’ve seen people injure themselves badly from using this product incorrectly. Follow the safety tips above and you will see so many benefits to your skin. This is a product that I personally love & use in my routine!
The Ordinary-AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
Hyped beauty products...
We can see these products everywhere (YouTube, instagram, TikTok...) but do they really worth the hype? The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Key ingredients: 30% AHA (glycolic acid, lactic acid, tartaric acid, citric acid) 2% BHA (salicylic acid). Price: $7.20 Worth the hype?: YES! It’s one of the products that attract the most attention since its color looks like blood 🩸. There are thousands of reviews, many speak well of the product and others not so much, probably because it is not for everyone. Definitely someone with sensitive skin shouldn't use it. And those with skins that tolerate chemical exfoliation should take precautions before using it, such as: 1. Patch test (inside the arm or back of the ear) and wait at least 24 hours. 2. Do not overexfoliate, most people see this product as a mask, but it’s a chemical exfoliant, if you wash your face with an exfoliating cleanser or scrub you would definitely be overexfoliating. 3. Do not leave it more than 10 minutes. 4. Remove it completely with water, you can use cleanser to make sure you remove it completely. 5. Apply a moisturizing cream after removing it (without acids like salicylic acid, retinoids...). 6. Use sunscreen (mineral or physical). It’s normal to feel warm or slightly tingling sensation, but it must be tolerable. I like the results of this product, it leaves the skin luminous and clean. The face may be a little red but for no more than 30 minutes. It’s the type of exfoliant that I use every 2 weeks or when I require a more aggressive exfoliation. 🚨IMPORTANT: Social media has popularized the image of touching a glass vial of skin care directly to your skin. Doing this makes the dirt on your skin go directly to the product bottle contaminating it, the ideal is to apply a few drops of the product on your hand without touching it. AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay Key ingredients: Calcium bentonite clay. Price: $12.90 Worth the hype?: YES! This product became popular several years ago, it has excellent reviews from many users talking about the wonders it does. It is a 100% natural clay that helps clean the pores. It acts as a kind of impurity magnet, it can be used with water or apple cider vinegar, the second option is better because it helps to neutralize the pH of the clay. I mix it with apple cider vinegar, let it dry for 20 minutes. As it dries, you’ll feel a tightening and pulling sensation. The slight redness of the skin is normal and disappears in about 30 minutes. The pulsating feeling is intense and when the mask dries your face feels a little tight. It leaves the skin clean and makes you less prone to breakouts, in fact for this reason I bought this mask and it works very well. The ideal is to use a moisturizer after (without acids such as salicylic, retinoids ...). 🚨IMPORTANT: use non-metallic containers, spoons/spatulas. My skin type: combination. Skin concerns: blackheads, pores.
