Let’s talk Vitamin C 🍊🍊
Okay so everyone knows that Vitamin C is a staple in the dermatology/skin care community (if you don’t you know now). Toted as an anti-aging antioxidant it has been used forever. When picking a product though, do you know what you’re getting? There are many forms of vitamin C. The main two I’m going to compare is it L-Ascorbic Acid and Sodium Ascorblyl Phsosphate. Okay quick grab your Vitamin C serum and look for the vitamin C ingredient they used, then look up the concentration (i.e 10%, 20%) Okay so ASCORBIC ACID, is the most powerful version of vitamin C there is. I’ve seen a lot of articles that say it’s what you need for “effectiveness” but honestly it’s unstable. (There is research suggesting this as well).. with that being said it’s not the worse thing ever, just make sure your product is formulated correctly. When looking for L-ascorbic acid, it’s has to be 8-20% to make it effective and below a 3.5 pH . If you have acne or sensitive skin this also isn’t recommended, it’s toted by dermatologist as the strongest and while that is true it’s not necessarily needed for skin. SODIUM ASCORBLY PHOSPHATE (SAP), it has a salt molecule attached to it allowing it to easily penetrate the skins lipid barrier. It’s not not associated with the irritation caused by L-Ascorbic acid and it’s more stable and allows longer shelf life. Comparing to L-Ascorbic acid it has be said to have a lower “effectiveness” which I find to be highly doubtful based on published medical studies and personal results. When looking for the best Vitamin C product it should be mixed with -Tocopherol (vitamin E) -Ferulic Acid -& Hyaluronic Acid I currently use (Korean beauty)Seoul Ceuticals - 20% Vitamin C Hyaluronic Acid Serum and I love it .. i find that sodium ascorbly phosphate (SAP) works better on my current sensitive, acne prone skin. If you’re into something harder such as C E Ferulic by Skinceurtical (which I find EXTREMELY OVERPRICED @ $166) the dupe for that is Dr. Brenner C serum (can be found on amazon for $17.99 & timeless SKIN CARE - 20% Vitamin C + E Ferulic Acid Serum. (Which I have not tried but am tempted to). I also have used and loved Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum (SAP) and TruSkin - Vitamin C Serum .. Just make sure to wear sunscreen after this product ☺️

Night Time Skin Routine ✨Details Included✨
This is one of my many skin care routines when I couldn’t get laser resurfacing treatment. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream just came in. It’s my first time trying them. They’re strong. It stung my face. It’s normal because it’s a sign that it’s doing it’s job. When SkinCareByHyram recommends The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% for acne prone skin, I made my purchase. It’s gentle, unlike most products for testing acne acne, this one doesn’t sting and it doesn’t dry out our skin. Eric Nam claims CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly helps with brightening our skin. So I got it. It is hydrating. The orange one has vitamin C (a chemical that brightens skin). It’s gentle. It stung a little on first try because I have sensitive skin, but it doesn’t do that anymore. I also saw on SkinCareByHyram’s channel when he praises ESTĒE LAUDER - Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex Synchronized Recovery for probably being the best product Estée Lauder has ever produced. I got it. Before using ESTĒE LAUDER - Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex Synchronized Recovery my eyes were having an allergic reaction to another eye serum (I will post about it). My eyes were red, puffy, dry & with unexfoliatable dead skin all over. But this serum completely rehydrated my eyes. • Next day after this ‘hardcore’ resurfacing routine, I had redness and peeling on my face. I used all organic/pure products to avoid irritation. This lasts about 2-3 days. I exfoliate my face once the dead skin dries up (you can use a wet towel or a exfoliating towel). After exfoliation, redness still shows. But my skin was smooth, even, matte, and new. I used timeless SKIN CARE - Hyaluronic Acid 100% Pure (for hydration & to level up the pH level on my skin), HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray (to calm/treat redness, irritation & itchiness for my sensitive skin), Refining Serum from Dr’s Secret (100% natural ingredients & it helped speeding up my healing process), REVOLUTION - Copper Peptide Serum (to generate new collegen), 99% Pure Aloe Gel from Aloe Mastercare (for faster healing process), TATA HARPER - Retinoic Nutrient Face Oil With Vitamin A (for hydration), FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration (to moisturize) • Other products in this video are: Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner LANEIGE - Special Care Water Sleeping Mask LANEIGE - Lip Sleeping Mask Neutrogena - Alcohol Free Toner Kiehl's - Powerful-Strength Dark Circle Reducing Vitamin C Eye Serum BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil Briogeo - Farewell Frizz Rosarco Milk Leave-In Conditioner Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Strength + Moisture Leave-In Spray Hair Mask J.R. WATKINS - Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin Spray

Any tips?
My skin is oily/acne-prone, as you can see... Idk what to do. So i’ve recently just started using more organic products such as Black Soap, Lemon & Turmeric. But i’ve also incorporated Sulfur for my stubborn cystic acne. I’ve seen improvements in my hyperpigmentation, however I still break out weekly😒 I’m thinking my skin is imbalanced... Help😩 * I’m currently using a turmeric cleanser in the day + rose hip toner + aloe to balance ph + a serum that also has rose hip & aloe. For my moisturizer I use GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream + a lil extra niacinamide. * At night, I have been alternating every other day for 2 days out the week then return to a routine I’ve been following for a month. I cleanse with a turmeric cleanser with this alternative routine. I also use Salicylic Acid & Glycolic acid in this mask:#Herbalife Skin®️ - Purifying Mint Clay Mask[products]#[FourStars] Following this, I use MARIO BADESCU - Cucumber Cleansing Lotion plus spot treatment: PAULA'S CHOICE - REGULAR STRENGTH DAILY SKIN CLEARING TREATMENT WITH 2.5% BENZOYL PEROXIDE & 8% their AHA gel exfoliant. * ~ Usually I’d use a sulfur soap... (first time using soap). Following that I use a good bacteria gel, with ingredients like: Willow Bark Extract, Niacinamide,Clove Oil, Petitgrain Oil, Allantoin. Next I use a Retinol & Collagen cream, I let that absorb of course... Next I apply an Acne Spot Treatment with ingredients such as: ”Resveratrol”- balances good bacteria. ; Calamine: keeps sebum production in check, helping to prevent future blemishes Clover Oil: clear cystic acne, reducing swelling as it kills infection. Following the application of this spot treatment I let it absorb & follow up with another spot treatment, however it has 20% sulfur & zinc.... WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum 😐 When I first purchased and began using this serum I was definitely a fan of the way it felt on my face but after using it consistently, I don’t feel that it has really done anything for my skin. On the other hand, I stopped using it once I ran out and I have had a few breakouts but I’m not 100% sure whether or not the breakouts can be attributed to stopping this product as I have switched up my routine recently. All-in-all, I would consider re-purchasing this serum but I’m not rushing out the door to get it. I am definitely going to try a few different products before I decide whether or not to re-visit this one. CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion 🤗 I cannot adequately express in words how much I love this product. As someone with oily skin, I have always turned away from moisturizing out of fear that it would clog my pores or make my skin appear more oily despite knowing the dehydrated skin can cause greater oil production. This is the first moisturizer I’ve found that I do not feel is melting off my face after an hour. I use this product day and night, I just make sure to follow with an SPF during the day. I already have re-purchased this item and will continue to do so! The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% 😐 After reading about the wonders of Azelaic Acid, I decided to give it a try. Many individuals refer to this product as the holy grail for hyperpigmentation. I started using this product consistently at night about 6-8 weeks ago but I honestly have not noticed much of a difference. I want to love this product so badly so I did re-purchase this product today and I’m going to keep being consistent in hopes of seeing some results. One thing about this product that I don’t particularly like is the consistency, it feels like silicone and I find it very difficult to spread. Drop your comments below ⬇️ if you’ve tried any of these products! Let me know what you think 🧠

The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser - Left skin soft, but nothing special. Also, affordable! The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner - Terrible product, does absolutely nothing. fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - Pretty good product, helped me with my acne, but not my blackheads. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting Liquid Exfoliator - Helped me with my acne, but not with my pimples. Didn’t overdry skin. Overall, it’s an overrated product. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliator Milk Makeup Cooling Water - Felt nice on face, but did nothing. Milk MAKEUP - Cooling Water Clean & Clear Spot Treatment - Helped my pimples, but they didn’t fully disappear. Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment L’Oréal Collagen Moisturizer - Left face feeling hyrated, but a bit greasy. Has wayyyyy too much fragrance. Just Breathe Clarifying Serum is a Dud
Just Breathe Clarifying Serum is a Dud
Just Breathe Clarifying Serum is marketed as a serum designed to remove impurities from the skin, control excess oiliness, and soothe redness. It contains a trio of Willow bark, niacinamide and zinc and and is supposed to help with this inflammation and blotchiness and reduce the appearance of large pores. The texture is a clear lightweight serum that is very runny and like water (see photo for texture!) It felt like water going on but it did dry to a slightly tacky/tight finish on the skin which isn't my favorite. I'm not sure if I somehow used too much product but I applied as directed (3 drops to "almost-dry" skin.) I really enjoyed that the product did not contain a strong scent (it says fragrance free) and didnt cause any type of immediate reaction on my sensitive and acne prone skin. The next morning however I did notice a couple of small breakouts but I didn't think they were caused by the serum. However, after using this a couple of times (maybe 3 days) I developed one of the worst breakouts I've experienced in years. My cheeks were very red and broken out in small bumps. My skin looked more red than usual and unhappy. I was disappointed because I decided to try this product because it was designed to target all my concerns (redness, excess oil, large pores) and here my skin was looking worse than it had before. This serum had a great and short ingredient list and I checked every ingredient to make sure the product is non-comedeogenic. This made me wonder if it wasn't the product itself but if it had an adverse reaction with something else I was using in my routine. This product also has a lot of great reviews so I was very confused at my results. I enjoyed the simple packaging, the fragrance free formula and the affordable price point ($19.99 - I got mine at Target!) but overall I stopped using immediately for fear it was the culprit of my bad breakout. Perhaps I will try spot treating in order to see if it really doesn't agree with my skin. I don't like that this brand doesn't reveal the percentage of niacinamide or zinc in this product so it's hard to tell if it would be actually effective or not. You also get a very small amount of it (1oz) so I think you'd go through it rather quickly if using am and pm. Overall this product fell flat for me as I like to see an immediate improvement in skin after trying a new product and for some reason it looks like it caused irritation and breakouts for me. I probably wouldn't rccomend this to friend because I think there are better things out there and it didn't agree with my skin. However for the low price point I suppose it's worth a try - I would just high suggest spot testing!!!! I would give it 2/5 stars.

Like seriously, this is the most soothing thing I’ve ever put on my face! The inflammation, redness and any irritation were immediately gone. It’s a thin milky serum that sinks into the skin and immediately makes you feel petal soft! I’ve used it twice and I swear I will not go a day without it now! Calming Skincare Routine!
In this video I use the following items: ❤️Dr Jart- Cicapair Tiger Grass Serum 🧡Farmacy- Daily Greens Moisturizer 💛Evergreen & Birch- Blue Tansy Oil 💚Paula’s Choice- Youth Extending Hydrating Fluid 💙MotherDirt- Probiotic AO+ Mist This is a routine for my sensitive and combination skin that is acne-prone when I need soothing ingredients and products. ❤️The Cicapair line by Dr Jart is meant to be really calming and I like all of the items I’ve tried from it but went for the serum today to get that calming effect on right away. This serum isn’t super thick and has a lovely smell to it too. 🧡I’m enjoying the new Farmacy moisturizer so far! It’s oil-free and silicone-free. It’s a gel texture and absorbs beautifully and doesn’t make me break out. 💛Evergreen & Birch is a small business made in CT with gorgeous ingredients in small batches! I can’t say enough about their products and I chose this because blue tansy has anti-inflammatory properties. 💚This Paula’s Choice sunscreen is my FAVORITE. It doesn’t feel sticky or leave a white cast at all. It just absorbs and gives you SPF 50 and a slight glow. 💙MotherDirt Mist- I use this to add bacteria that is good for my microbiome back to my face after washing it and going through this routine. I find it helps with my acne a lot and it’s very refreshing.
