Week 1 of Tretinoin and Spironolactone
For 1 week, I’ve been taking spironolactone every morning and applying .025% tretinoin every other night. Starting today, I will apply tretinoin every night. Regarding the spironolactone, I haven’t been experiencing any serious side effects. So far, I’ve been peeing more often and every once in a while I would get cramps that are similar to period cramps (I’m expecting my period to come at the end of this month). Regarding the tretinoin, I’ve been experiencing lots of purging. So many pimples have surfaced. I’ve also had some dryness, especially around my mouth and nostrils. I recently started using the CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin every morning and it’s been good in taming my peeling skin. Let me know if you guys have any tips regarding tretinoin or spironolactone!
‼️PSA: CEREVE CREAM TO FOAM CLEANSER‼️
I had so much hope for this cleanser. It literally went into my hand looking like shampoo, foamed up and lathered beautifully. The experience was 12/10! However. My cheeks had the WORST reaction. My face has never felt this burnt, flaky and dehydrated ever. Only my cheeks and under my nose had a reaction, aka my dry areas. My oiler areas (t-zone) didnt react at all. I’m soooo sad. I’m currently using the cereve hydrating cleanser in the morning & inkey list SA cleanser in the evening. I do was my fave twice a day because if I don’t by skin doesn’t feel as soft and nourished. So, that’s why I went with a super gentle cleanser for morning. Maybe even needing to use the SA cleanser 2-3x/week. I’m looking for something gentle, but will get my sunscreen off. Any recommendations would be extremely appreciated 💗💗💗💗 CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin

Dry, itchy or irritated eyes? Try this out
After a visit to the eye doctor last week I decided to try out this product after hearing about all the great things it does from my eye doctor! Giulia and Paola at @sorellaoptique are super informative and have the most up to date information about all things relating to eye health. We got to talking and she asked if I ever experienced irritated or dry eyes. I don’t normally, but I did tell her I noticed I was getting small dry patches randomly on my eye lids and I thought it was very odd. I always thought it was just dry skin, but I don’t have “dry skin” so it did always concern me. She explained to me that this is a common thing that happens if we don’t clean our eyes and the base of our lashes, I never knew!!!!😳 I’m all about cleansers - of course with me being an esthetician and loving anything skin care related - and I know how delicate the skin around our eyes is. But you do need to take care of it! She showed me a close up image of my eye and I could see the build up on the follicles of my lashes! She explained to me that this can be from daily use of mascara, lash serums, things in the air - really just from day to day living. And also using certain cleansers, oil cleansers especially, even though they are great for your skin - they might not be the best for your eyes and you have to take that extra step to make sure you are cleaning your eyes and lashes as well. I’ve been using this foam every morning for the last few days and I can’t wait to let you guys know how I end up liking it after a while! So far, I love how my eyes feel after using it. They just feel clean. No irritation, no stinging - nothing. So far I love it! I’ll update you guys as time goes on ❤️. Take a look at the last picture to see a before and after on their instruction packet! It truly is amazing.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
