Kosas made my new favorite concealer
As a celebrity makeup artist and clean beauty enthusiast for a decade, you’d think I would have a lot of great concealer options to tell you about. Not so much. But this new launch from Kosas is really freakin good. It has great coverage. Not too heavy, not too light. It blends easily It creates a seamless finish if you get your shade matched right It’s hydrating and doesn’t leave me cakey looking I can’t upload the video I made about it in this post, so I’ll do it in a stand alone post next so you can see how quick it is to blend, and how the coverage is. 💜

Makeup for oily, acne-prone skin
Like a lot of people, my skin type is oily and acne-prone. This can make makeup difficult: in the past, I’ve used makeup that clogged my pores and made my acne worse, or makeup that reacted with the oil on my face and made my makeup look cakey. I also really like a dewy, glowy makeup look, which can be difficult when a lot of makeup for oily skin tries to suck the oil up to make skin look matte. Over time, I’ve been able to nail down a makeup look that works great for my skin type. First, make sure to use a good primer to keep makeup in place. I like FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Pores Be Gone Matte Primer , which works great and doesn’t pill under makeup. Next, use a base product. As strange as it seems, I love the Kosas - Tinted Face Oil Foundation for my oily skin—it actually has kaolin clay in it to keep it from looking oily, so the finish I end up with is semi-matte. It’s perfect! I apply it with my fingers and it blends easily. Use a concealer if needed to cover and blemishes and/or undereyes. I love the Kosas - Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer because it has ingredients like arnica and peptides to visibly improve skin—it’s makeup and skincare rolled into one, and my oily/acne-prone skin loves it! Use a blush with beneficial ingredients for skin. I love the alleyoop - Stack the odds multi-use face palette because the cream products have jojoba and sunflower oils. Since I just apply the blush on the apples of my cheeks, it gives me a glow right where I want it, without making me look oily all over. I also use a cream highlight on my cheekbones: the one in the alleyoop palette is great, as is the BECCA - Skin Love Glow Glaze Stick . They both have skin nourishing ingredients that help keep my skin from being too dried out by acne products—because makeup doesn’t look good clinging to dry patches. Make sure to use a good powder to set foundation in your T-zone. I love the Milk MAKEUP - Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder because it never looks cakey, even when I reapply—I took a star off for the packaging though, which can be inconvenient. A few more tips: I avoid cream products with coconut oil because they make me break out, and I wash my makeup brushes at least once a week because dirty brushes can spread bacteria and make acne worse. If anyone else has tips for this skin type, please let me know in the comments! #CheriePartner
My current favorite (and the only one I own) concealer. . As soon as I saw that @kosas were coming out with a concealer, I knew I’d get it. I’ve had an amazing experience with their products (tinted oil, blush duos, eyeshadows, lip products) so I knew/hoped that the concealer would work for me. And as I expected, it did! . What I like about it, and what makes it different for me from other concealers is how creamy and lightweight it is. It’s really easy to blend out (and it doesn’t dry down if you don’t blend it out quickly), it doesn’t crease and/or settle into the lines and it’s not cakey. It almost disappears into the skin, while still concealing anything you put it on. . Basically, I’m in love with this product. It does everything that I want my concealer to do, and it does it amazingly. Kosas kills it with their products, and I’m excited to see what they have in store for the future. . (I’m attaching a picture to show the swatch of the concealer, compared to the tinted oil. Color 3.5 works great for me in both the tinted oil and the concealer, and this is how they compare)

Conceal Don’t Feel
This creamy concealer by Kosas is definitely a light weight, medium coverage concealer but is also buildable. It doesn’t dry too quick so it’s easy to manage and blend in. It definitely works best when you set it with powder... but it also works fairly well without it. I have heard that some tones have a yellowish color to it but I did not see it any of the times I have applied it. I love using it under my eyes because it doesn’t crack or crease. I love this stuff! I’m such a huge fan of their face oil that I knew I needed to grab their concealer! I was not disappointed! It’s so creamy, blendable, and leaves such a radiant finish under the eyes! It pairs so well with their tint in face oil! It’s definitely going to be my new go to!

NARS - Limited Edition Tinted Glow Booster Shade: Simos (medium) On the website, it says it can be worn a few different ways: -Alone as a light coverage tint -Under foundation -Mixed in with foundation -Over makeup on high points of the face This was the last purchase I made right before committing to a low-buy for the rest of the year. Let me first start by saying, I absolutely LOVE this product! I usually wear it alone as a skin tint and it provides a nice subtle sheen, making my skin very healthy looking and adds a touch of warmth. Makes it look like I spent a day out in the sun! Or, if I want slightly more coverage, I will wear this under my foundation. In certain lighting (yellow lighting) you can actually see the champagne pearls glisten, making them ALMOST look like glitter pearls. But be aware, this product is not chunky. You can’t feel the pearly bits. In other lighting, it is undetectable. It’s very subtle, and hard to detect under makeup. I am so sad that this is limited edition - quick, grab one while they’re still in stock! I also purchased the lighter shade (Kalvoya), but have not tried it. I usually just use my fingers to apply, warming the product up. This provides such a nice and effortless glow! I wish it became a permanent product!

Product Empty! NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer Product Empty! The NARS radiant creamy concealer is one of the brand's best sellers, and I can see why! This concealer comes in two sizes, which is great when you want to try out something new that's very personal like a concealer is. I finished up the shade Affogato. The only problem I have with this concealer is that despite adding more shades, I can't get a great match. Affogato is a neutral / peachy color that falls between Chantilly (very very fair) and Vanilla (fair but quite pink). I wish NARS would add some more yellow/warm shades in the fair spectrum. This concealer performs well. It is medium to full coverage and definitely enough for the eye area. It blends out very nicely and isn't too cakey or heavy like some concealers are. As you can see there's a lot of product left in the tube that I'm not able to get out, so the design does leave a bit of product waste. Overall this retails $30 for the full size tube and $13 for the mini, and I give this 5/5 stars. I wish I could deduct half a star because of the poor shade range, but I won't. I'm happy to have emptied this and will add to my may repurchase list in 2020!

My go-to concealer for “No-Makeup Makeup”
Milk Makeup’s Flex Concealer Milk MAKEUP - Flex Concealer has been my holy grail concealer for SO long! I’m on my second tube. My first tube lasted me about 8 months. It’s a light consistency that can be blended out with your fingers (the brand prefers this) or your makeup sponge or brush. I personally apply this with a foundation brush with stippling movements to blend it out without it looking splotchy. Milk’s concealer line has a great, balanced shade range and I love that it comes in a tube so you can squeeze out every last bit! I mainly use this product to even out my skin tone and red spots by itself—I never wear it with foundation and never set it with powder. Is wears so naturally and lasts all day!! I have to mention that it is a medium coverage concealer so it lets me let some of my blemishes show through it which really helps with my “no makeup” makeup looks. And I’m so happy that it has a shade that matches my body skin tone EXACT!! This tube costs $28 and I think that is SUCH a great price for a higher end concealer that lasts SO long. If you’re able to go grab a sample from Sephora to test it out, I highly recommend it for all skin types!! I’m rating this product 5 out of 5 stars because I can rely on it, I fully support the brand, and it’s affordable for a higher end concealer.
