Three Easy Braided Hairstyles for Curly Hair

Three Easy Braided Hairstyles for Curly Hair

This easy dutch braid is my go to for a quick, fun look! Plus it's super versatile - I use it as the base for the three looks in this video. I have thick, curly hair. This style works the best for me on my day 2 or 3 hair - this way it requires very little styling! Here's a quick how to: 1. Part your hair into two rows on the top of your head, this is where your braids will go! 2. Dutch braid (or French braid) these two rows. Both of these braids are easy! Simply start a normal three strand braid, as you braid add small pieces of hair into each strand. 3. From here have fun with it! You can leave these two braids out, add them into a ponytail, go with one top-knot style bun at the top of your head, or go with my favorite style which is the two fun buns! Products Used:
IGK - Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel
this medium hold gel works well for my second day hair. It isn't strong enough for me to use on my wash and go days, but works really well when I want to restyle or change up my style.

How I “Plop”/Air Dry My Wavy/Curly Hair w/ pics!
Do you have naturally curly or wavy hair? What about cults/waves that you've been taming with heat tools for years? Want to improve your curl/wave pattern over time? This is for you! About my hair: thick, long, some layers, curly/wavy,dry What you'll need: •100% cotton t-shirt •Leave-in conditioner •Curl cream, gel, mousse, etc (whatever you prefer) •Patience, because this takes a while! I've included a numbered pictorial so you can follow along, but please note that each numerical label isn't necessarily its own step. Some are just additional angles. This method is part of the “curl girl” method and is called “plopping ". "Plopping" with cotton gently removes moisture while reducing frizz and helping natural patterns look more defined. Steps: 1. Start with freshly washed hair. Squeeze your hair with your towel a few times until it's no longer dripping wet. No more towel after this. 2. Scrunch hair with your cotton t-shirt for about 15-20 seconds. 3. Use your fingers to apply a leave-in conditioner, or if your leave-in is a spray, just spray it and finger comb through. 4. Scrunch hair with t-shirt again. Your hair should no longer be super wet. 5. Apply your preferred curl or wave product and make sure to disperse throughout your hair starting with your ends. 6. Use your hands to scrunch. Flip head upside down and continue to scrunch. 7. Lay your t-shirt on a flat, clean surface (I use my bed). The neck should face towards you. 8. Gather all of your hair with your head up aside down as if making a ponytail and place in the center of the t-shirt. 9. Fold the bottom portion of the t-shirt onto itself, then take that folded section up over your hair towards your neck. Your forehead should be touching the neck of the t-shirt. 10. Use 1 hand to hold the shirt in place while taking each sleeve and tying them together. You will need to switch your hands during this step. The tie should sit low on your head. 11. Leave hair in shirt 20-30 min (depending on hair thickness). 12. Take hair out of shirt, flip over, part with fingers or comb (if desired, but don't comb anything else!!), and air dry. My hair takes about 3-4 hours to fully dry post-"plop". If you want to use a hair oil, use it before wrapping your hair. Products I used: KRISTIN ESS - Ultra Hydrating Curl Leave-In Cream and IGK - Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel . There are good YouTube videos out there to learn more if you are wanting to learn more about this method!

Curly/Wavy Faves
My hair: Thick, wavy, curl, frizzy, dry, unruly, has a mind of its own What I look for: Smoothing, definition, lightweight hold, nourishing I try not to have a lot of hair products open all at once, but ya know 💁🏻‍♀️ These are two products I have open and alternate using. The IGK - Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel has been a favorite of mine for a long time, and the KRISTIN ESS - Hair Hydrating Curl Defining Crème has been in my collection for a couple months. I like each of them for slightly different reasons. The IGK rich kid is a gel cream. Thanks to coconut oil and aloe vera, when you dispense the product and rub between your hands, the product melts down and it’s easy to work into towel-dried hair. It is excellent for adding piecey texture and definition to waves and curls, while also nourishing the hair a bit. Due to its texture, this would probably even work with straight hair to give a beachy look. Now, there’s something wrong with the one I purchased (from Ulta). It’s got a very off-putting scent that is not normal for this product. I’ve gone through a mini and several sample packets, so I know this for sure. Nevertheless I decided to keep this bottle because it would be wasteful to return, and the product itself works just fine. It *should* have a light, fresh scent. Just a quick PSA because I noticed some others in the reviews on Ulta mention a bad smell. I love that this is lightweight, provides a bit of hold, and I need very little product, so this bottle will last for a longggg time. $29 for 5oz or $15 for 1.7oz. Worth it and will repurchase. The Kristin Ess curl creme is a creamy, slightly thicker texture. It has a lovely scent (the KE “signature scent”) that is fresh and light, but not overpowering. It adds a little bit of weight to my hair and that helps provide definition to my waves/curls. However, by no means do I think this cream is heavy. It doesn’t provide any hold, so if that’s what you’re looking for I would go with the IGK. This cream makes my hair feel softer and less frizzy than the IGK. I do need more of this product, but at $14 for 6.7oz, this bottle will still last a while and it’s affordable, so I would repurchase. By the way, I follow the “curly girl method” involves “plopping” and air drying. I have used both of these products and diffused my hair in a pinch, and they work great for that too. #CherieCreator

Who doesn’t love a cute side braid when you don’t know what hair look to go for? I used to use this hairstyle for work all the time! And it’s super simple!! Step 1 apply your preferred hair styling product. Mine was KRISTIN ESS - Ultra Hydrating Curl Leave-In Cream Step 2 select a medium amount of hair you wanna braid (Also select the side you want it to be) Step 3 braid it not all the way to the end, go about 3/4 of the way. Step 4 pick a cute hair clip to hold the braid in place! Ta daaaaa! This works with all hair types as well! I hope you enjoyed my video! 🤍

{Braided Style} Quick Side Braid
{Braided Style} Quick Side Braid
This quick style combines a Dutch braid and a regular 3-strand braid. It shouldn’t take more than 3 minutes start to finish! About my hair: thiiiiick, wavy/curly, long This style was done on day 3 hair. What you’ll need: -hair elastic (or 2 if your hair is thick) -comb -dry shampoo (if your hair is looking oily) or texture spray (if your hair is fine/needs some grit) -hairspray Steps: 1. Part hair in desired spot. I prefer a side part. 2. Comb hair. 3. If you’re working with days old hair, spray your roots and some lengths with dry shampoo. If your hair is freshly washed or fine, spray your lengths with texture spray for a little bit of grit to help your braid stay in place. 4. Take a small section of hair from the side of your part where you want the braid to start. 5. Cross the right strand underneath the middle strand. Do the same with the left. 6. Repeat step 5. 7. Pick up a small section of hair near the right strand and combine. Cross this section underneath the middle. 8. Repeat step 7 with the left strand. 9. Repeat steps 7-8 by adding small sections of hair to each side of the braid until you reach just below your ears. 10. Brush all of the hair from the non-braided side of your head towards the braided side by angling the hair around the back of your head. 11. Divide this section into 3. Let 1 section be a bit smaller than the other 2 because you will add in your braided front section to this. Goal is to have 3 evenly divided sections. 12. Braid the 3 sections together by crossing either the left or the right sections over or under the middle section. This is a regular braid, so it doesn’t matter which way! 13. Secure your braid with an elastic or 2. 14. {optional} Lightly pull on the edges of the braid close to your forehead (“pancaking”) to widen it. 15. Spray with hairspray. This style is super cute with scrunches or ribbons, too! I used: NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Clean Freak Tapioca Dry Shampoo and VERB - Ghost Hairspray , but you can use whatever you have on hand. If you have fine hair and don’t have texture spray, you can use a bit of dry shampoo instead. Music: Last Summer Musician: @iksonmusic

Easy Braid into a Bun!
Easy Braid into a Bun!
It’s basically a French braid into a bun! It’s super easy and quick! You can spray hairspray into the braided section to make sure it stays, but I’m lazy. . My hair type: I have thick and curly hair! . Tools needed: 2 hair ties (a smaller and larger one) . Steps: 1) Divide hair into side part. 2) Grab 3 sections in the front. 3) Braid them one time. 4) Add more hair to the outer sections. 5) Braid the sections another time. 6) Add more hair to the outer sections. 7) Keep repeating until you get equal with your ear. 8) I pull a little section/tendril out from around my ear so it doesn’t look too harsh. 9) Tie the braid off using a hair tie. 10) Combine hair in the hair tie and the rest of your hair and gather around the bottom of your neck. 11) Twirl together to make a bun.

what do you think of this method? Yey or nay? Have you try it? I have to confess that this hair tool has been sitting on my table for years now, I tried it once and gave up immediately as braiding using only my fingers is easier for me but I decided to give it a chance again as I know how useful can be for those of you that don’t know how to braid, so let me know if this was helpful and if you would give it a try too 🥰

Quick + easy party hair! My go to 90’s style!
Quick + easy party hair! My go to 90’s style!
We love a cute and time efficient hair style! I’m not big on styling my hair, but this is my go to style for heading out or to a party. It’s fun and girly! I have pretty straight and fine hair. My hair doesn’t hold curls well, so this is perfect for my hair! ghd - Classic Styling Iron My favorite straightener! As you can see in my video, it glides through so easy and straightens as well as curls. It heats up very quickly and gets the job done. I’ve had this for years and it has lasted so well. It is on the pricey end, but worth it! KENRA PROFESSIONAL - Platinum Silkening Gloss My favorite hair product to add shine and smooth out my fly always. It smells SO GOOD. A little goes a long way. Don’t put too much or you’ll get the greasy hair look. It’s super lightweight so it won’t weigh your style down. KENRA PROFESSIONAL - Volume Spray 25 I take this hair spray with me everywhere! Really holds hair styles in place and I have hair that never stays. It’s humidity resistant, flake free, fast drying, wind resistant, and has a SUPER HOLD. #cheriecreator
